Description of Work: In early spring we had a weed problem, so we called Trugreen. Their special was the first application for $29 and thereafter $59 per app. They were prompt and sprayed a liquid product. After a week, I called to confirm a weed iradication product was applied. They came out a second time for the same treatment. Again, the weeds continued to grow. So I called and cancelled telling them that I use "Weed Be Gone" and I can see results after only 48-72 hours.

Description of Work: They treat the grass several times per year. They have done a good job of keeping all the weeds out of my grass. My grass is also greener than most of the neighborhood. It is cheaper if you pay annually. Be sure to ask for discounts upfront.

Description of Work: They treat our yard for weeds & pests. We initially quite pleased. But after the last two treatments our grass has died. We had it checked by a horticulturist and we were told they had given us a fungus & our grass will continue to die. Horticultural guy said they tracked it in from someone else's yard. . I called them about the problem but have not heard back.

Description of Work: We have had them for a year now. For treatment of weeds. Last visit was in June. Overall our lawn is looking better and the big nasty weeds are gone. We still have some grass like weeds but better than before. We did gave the Tree/ shrub treatment last year but stopped for this year after not seeing any difference.

Description of Work: This is our fourth year to use TruGreen. Overall we have been pleased with the services we have received. We no longer have them aerate the yard; when they did, we had to have some sprinkler repairs done. Otherwise things have been good and as I survey the neighborhood, our years looks quite good compared to many others.

Description of Work: Wished I had access to Angie's List prior to obtaining services from Truegreen. We solicited a quote for our lawn, as the bermuda hybrid put in by our builder is not weed resistant, and what we were using at home just wasn't working. We agreed to a contract that allows for about 7 sprayings per year (can't remember exactly) but it comes out to about once every two months. Then the cold calls started... at least once a week someone from an anonymous phone number would call, trying to upsell services, to which I always declined. They never leave messages, and you can't get through to anyone if you try to call back. One evening I came home and looked out my back window and saw a gentleman in my gated backyard poking around at one of our trees in a completely nondescript outfit. I called my husband nervously, and luckily he was pulling into our driveway so he went back and spoke to the gentleman. Because my husband had no previous knowledge of the surplus of cold calls I'd received over the past few months, he agreed to a special treatment for our grass. Literally three to five days after this first additional treatment was applied, our entire front lawn and part of the back lawn was burnt to a crisp (almost gray in color), which was quite alarming considering we had received a letter from the HOA the week before telling us how nice our lawn looked. We tried to call our location, but it sends you to a national hotline... I asked to have the manager of our local office call us to discuss so we could resolve. Well, nobody ever called me, but they sent someone out when we weren't home, who left us a transcript of the visit, stating that our issue was due to "low soil and hot rocks". How convenient, considering the temperatures had been similar all summer, and we didn't have any issues of this sort the previous summer when it was just as hot. The visit was too recent to be a coincidence, not to mention there was a very distinct line/border where spray was applied that divided the dead grass from the live grass. To make a long story short, we went through multiple rounds of requesting follow up from an actual PERSON, never received it, and did not get in contact with anyone until we reached out to the BBB. At the end of it all, they provided about six months of free treatments, at the end of which, they tried to start charging us again, after we had made it clear that we wished to cancel our contract effective immediately. We still get calls from Truegreen, despite our repeated claim that we do not wish to do business with them anymore.

Description of Work: The company was supposed to treat out front lawn with organic fertilizer. They treated our front and back with non organic (chemical) fertilizer. This killed our grass completely. Plus we have nasty chemicals we did not want. We wanted organic because of our dog with cancer. This is the second time they have done this. We stopped the service. We didn't have to pay for the treatment. Very disappointed. We will fertilize our own lawn.

Description of Work: Trugreen was very responsive from the first phone call to actually coming the same day!! The cleaning went well and very quickly. The ownner, Jeff Ayres, was personable and well versed in carpeting. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: My previous service provider, Green Blades, was sold to Tru Green. Green Blades was excellent and I had an annual contract and had used them for years. After the sale to Tru Green, which came in the middle of my contract, the trouble started. Tru Green immediately started cold calling my home trying to sell me products I don't need or want. I have repeatedly asked Tru Green to stop, but, undeterred, the unwanted Tru Green cold calls continue. In sum, if you are looking for a company that will treat you like a number, who is willing on a whim to interrupt your family meals and sleep with unwanted cold sales calls, and who is unwilling to take "no" for an answer -- then, look no further....you have found the perfect company.
