 + -1 moreOur whole backyard sprinkler system did not work. We thought our time control box was out, and probably needed to be replaced inasmuch as it was over 15 years old. Instead, it was just a fuse. John had said he would not be available until Wednesday (called him on Monday), but when he had a cancellation, he came on Tuesday--thankfully, because our yard was dying in this extreme heat. We only needed a fuse. He charged us only the trip call, $55.00. Had he said we needed a new control box, we wouldn't have known the difference. We appreciated his honesty, his promptness, and his reasonable trip call.

 + -1 moreOverall, the experience went the way all professional services should go. The price was fair, the work performed was solid and thorough, and it was expeditiously handled. When or if needed, we will use Mr. Flores again.
Description of Work: We have had problems with several sprinkler heads in the past. We checked Angies List and decided to try The Lawn Sprinkler Guy. We set up an appointment for the following week. Mr. Flores called ahead, showed up on time, and performed his services admirably. For minimal costs, he corrected a number of heads, improved the efficiency of the water flow, and added higher head sprinklers where necessary. At all times, he was very professional. He indicated the system was fine, but it did need professional servicing, which he performed. At no time did he try to sell us anything or suggest additional services that we did not request. Smart move.

 + -1 moreI called John for an initial appointment and he responded that same day. John was right on time the entire project which took a couple of days. He always called ahead prior to his arrival. John is very friendly and took the time to explain everything that needed to be fixed. On the first day he diagnosed the problem, the parts needed to fix it and the estimated cost. The cost actually came in at the low end of his estimate. John provides reliable professional service at a reasonable cost and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Complete overhaul of my lawn sprinkler system. Located zones 1 & 2, replaced valve in zone 1, replaced diaphram in zone 2, fixed broken sprinkler heads thoughout the yard. My lawn sprinkler system had not worked properly for over 5 years.

He was going to schedule me later that week, but I told him it was rather urgent, as the new grass would need to be watered every day, significantly. He willingly came within 15 min. of when I had called him! He did an OUTSTANDING job and will be returning to complete some additional work this week. I HIGHLY recommend John! We are pleased with the quality of work, professionalism, and incredible response time/punctuality! If Angie's List gave the option for an A+, John would certainly receive it from us!!
Description of Work: In-ground sprinkler system needed repairing due to the fact that our puppies chewed through the wiring!! We were having a lawn put in and needed the sprinklers repaired immediately!

 + -1 moreWe were pleased w/the service we received last year and wanted John to come update our system for us. I called to set up an appointment several times and each time I got the response of "I can probably come Tuesday afternoon (or whatever day he thought he might be available). Give me a call Monday to check." I could never get him to give me a firm date and time. I finally decided it was not my responsibility to call and remind him about a tentative appointment that kept changing. I figured if he really wanted my business he would call and set a firm date. He never did.

 + -1 moreGot John's referral from Angie's list. He called back quickly to let me know his schedule. Totally booked for the week, but would work me in if he could. Rain on Thursday and Friday prevented a "work in." Called me the following Monday and said he had time right now. He came right over, listened to what I wanted and went right to work. John is very knowledgable about sprinkler systems, e,g., he was sure I had a leak because of the water pressure of the sprinklers. He was right! He had all the parts he needed with him. The work took approximately one hour, and he got a lot done in that hour. I was delighted because visits from other vendors have not been satisfactory in the past. I will recommend him and will definitely use him again.
Description of Work: Spring inspection of irrigation system: checked sprinkling patterns, fixed a "gusher," fixed a leak in the water line, fixed clogged sprinkler heads, changed cover on valve box, and other minor things that needed adjusting.

 + -1 moreHe found a cheap solution to our wiring issue that I am pleased with, because the alternative meant considerable digging looking for a broken wire somewhere between zones 1 and 7. He checked all heads to make sure none were broken. This system was repaired by someone else last year but failed again after 2 months, and sat dormant for most of the past year. It all works now, he explained what he did and showed me where he did it, gave me pointers on how to winterize later this year, and managed to boost our water pressure a tad by adjusting something at our meter. I was pleased with communication and he gave me a firm quote on the parts before coming out, called when on his way, and my total ended up being less than his initial estimate for labor.
Description of Work: Replaced broken backflow preventer valve (85% of the expense because the part was expensive, by I compared valve prices on-line and his was a little lower), troubleshot and adjusted our non-functional 10 zone system, identified a wiring problem and re-wired a small section. Spent about 2 hours at our house.

 + -1 morehe was on time and showed up when he said he would. the only thing that may put some one off is he seems to be very popular and when talking on the phone he seems a bit rushed but i understand becuase i am self employed it can get a bit crazy at times. i was happy with his service.
Description of Work: john came out and fixed 2 sprinklers one was a head that is in the ground and the other was a standing spray head that is used to spray shurbs or bushes. also checked my control panel and gave me some advice on what areas may need more water time on my lawn.

 + -1 moreThe repair of the broken head was quick and efficient. The check of the other heads was careful and the stream of most needed adjustment. I mentioned that I was going to have a concrete walkway put in one area and he suggested asking the concrete contractor to put in an empty sleeve the length of the walkway in case the sprinkler pipes needed to be repaired or replaced at some time (they run under the proposed walk). I was glad to have this suggestion now, and not be told I should have done that after the walk is poured. This was a good visit and I am glad to have a new Sprinkler Guy!
Description of Work: John checked all the sprinkler heads, raised several due to new growth of bushes, replaced one head that was leaking and another that had broken. He gave suggestions for the scheduled watering according to the types of heads (rotors vs sprinkler) and the amount of shade. I was pleased that he was able to schedule this visit during a day off so I would not have to take time from work.

 + -1 moreHe called to let me know when he would arrive. Very punctual. Started up sprinkler and one zone was not working at all. Two sprinkler heads were shooting water in the air, several heads were covered. He cleaned around each head that was buried, replaced the box that controlled the non working zone, replaced the broken heads. When he was done all 3 zones were working well, A job well done. I will let my neighbors know about his work. He is a great guy.

 + -1 moreJohn is very polite and friendly and takes great pride in his work. He was very knowledgeable about my system, which is amazing since he repairs all brands. Before he left he showed me how to set the days and times for each station. He also showed me how to change the run-time of each station without having to re-set everything! I never knew my system even had that function! He is great, and I recommend him highly.
Description of Work: I called John on a Tuesday to check my entire sprinkler system, and he made an appointment to come out the next morning. When he arrived I showed him several things that needed to be repaired, and he ran each section to look for other problems. I had thought he would probably set up a time to come back and do the work, but he then got to work right then fixing everything. One section had low water volume, and several sprinklers didn't cover the area they should have. The grass in that area had been dead for quite some time. He found a broken underground line that had probably been broken for at least 2 years! It was next to a drain opening which carries rainwater under a breezeway, so it was impossible to see. I asked him how he found it, and he said he listened for it!
