Here at The Lawn Sprinkler Guy, I am focused on helping customers save water and helping them understand how to use their irrigation system. Most systems are not programed correctly, most are set to run too long and waste water. I can help you understand how many minutes each zone should have and when to raise or lower the zone time according to the weather. I can set up a water budget so you are able to keep track of water usage and how much it cost per zone and minute to run your system. I have over 20 years in the irrigation field and hold a current Texas state licence in Irrigation.

He did an excellent job and was very thorough. He found that one of the zones wasn't working right, and could have fixed it for me, but as I am renting the house, I had to go through the property managers to get that done. . Would use him again.
Description of Work: He checked over the entire sprinkler system and made sure it was running correctly and adjusted the nozzles and spray patterns as needed.

My sprinkler system worked fine when the man arrived. He performed an inspection of all the zones per the "deal" and he then recommended changing some sprinkler heads for better coverage. While checking out the system, zone 1 failed. He rigged the system so that zone 1 works via another wire. He offered to return to troubleshoot and fix the problem. I declined any further work to be accomplished by the "Sprinkler Guy". He is not what I consider professional or has sound customer service practices.
Description of Work: Angies List "Big Deal". That should be the first clue that this is a cut rate deal, low quality.

zone one failed while i was there doing the check up, it would not come one so he blamed me thinking i did something wrong. i was able to get it working by using another zone wire. the problem was the way it was installed it was causing a short on zone one. so i was able to get it working for him and didn't charge him anything extra. Sorry that worked out this way, i try to help out as much as i can

It went very well. I would recommend his services.
Description of Work: I bought the Big Deal of Sprinkler Tune up. While there he fixed a couple of sprinkler heads that were not pointed correctly and inspected a section of the sprinkler system that would not work. He diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to fix. I guess a motor or something was broken on the section. He ordered the part and came back in a week to fix. It worked like a charm after that.

I was pleased he called and told me when he was arriving -- much appreciated. After discussing the issues I was having and that it was something he could not do that day, I had tentatively arranged for him to come back for more work. Tentative in that I would call and schedule the other work. I called and left a message and was never called back. He does good work. He was personable and professional. He lost me when I was never called back.
Description of Work: I used the "Big Deal" from Angie's List and had the gentleman come out to service my sprinkler system. He came in adjusted the sprinkler heads and made sure all were working well. He gave suggestions to resolve some issues I had.

He must be a busy guy, because between him the the person (lady) I was to contact for an appointment, I gave up trying to resolve them trying to get in touch with each other. I just chalked up the experience to money spent to learn his company's communications needs work, and someone else will have to deal with it in the future - it will not be me. It has been quite a while, so I am not sure about exact dates I tried to get a scheduled appointment.

I needed some additional work done too but their follow-up was lacking. They didn’t provide pricing to have the additional work provided. I called them several times but never heard back from them so I gave up.

Badly. Never repaired the leak. As shown to me by the water company and Alamo Irrigation, the valve was attached to nothing. So, I ended up calling another company (Alamo). They were quite perplexed as well, but finally determined after 2 visits where the leak was (far away from where the water was flowing out). The price wouldn't have been so bad if the leak had been fixed. This problem continued over several months so I no longer remember exact dates.
Description of Work: The problem was a leak...water was running down the driveway from the front steps. The repairman arrived & seemed very nice, but he attached a valve to a non-working underground sprinkler that had nothing to do with the leak. Valve did nothing. Though water kept flowing, he said it would stop soon. It didn't. The leak got a lot worse the next day. I called back... he came back and dug into the lawn. Leak continued. He didn't think it could be fixed. I was out about $250 and my water bill shot up that month by nearly $500 over the usual. It was an exasperating situation. As it turned out... very complicated. Turned off the water supply to the system.

The gentleman showed up on time and performed the work he was scheduled to. He was courteous and performed the work in a timely manner.
Description of Work: The service provider came on time, did his inspection of the sprinkler system and operated it just to make sure there were no broken sprinkler heads. He also made some cost effective recommendations on how to make sure the sprinkler heads go down after operation so they don't break.

He got the job done in less than an hour. He showed up on time and was courteous. He charges $75 per hour, plus materials, which is cheaper than other companies I have used to repair my sprinkler system. I will definitely call him the next time I have a problem with my sprinkler system.

John gave me a generous discount on the price of the new controller box and did all the work of installing it to my satisfaction. He also gave me a one year warranty on the new controller box. I felt like he did too quick of a review on the sprinklers themselves and that I did not get my Big Deal money's worth, however, when I told him I felt that way, he offered to come back and replace my faulty sprinkler heads at a discount. I feel confident that John will keep his word.
