The Barton Co Carpets

We'd checked on a few suppliers before them and they were by far the most considerate, personable and had a very reasonable price. The ONLY reason we did not go with them is a 'friend of a friend' really needed the work so we decided to let him install the floor instead.

I am located in New England and i am currently selling my house in San Antonio. After being burned by a "professional" contractor i was referred to by a handyman referral service, I was really just looking for an honorable company to do what they said they would do. After joining Angies List, i found Barton Company Carpets with an A rating. I have to say that they have lived up to their rating and exceeded it in my case. My project was scheduled for the 1st week of August. Of course, I was not too happy with that but being 2100 miles away there is not much i could do about it. By this time i had closed the home to viewings because after 25 walk-thrus of my house with no carpet not one credible offer came in. So, I paid the down payment on 7/22 to get on their schedule with the thread of hope that i could maybe get it done earlier. On the 25th (2 days later) Mark called and said "it's finished". Can't describe the relief. My realtor was able to swing by and take a look, update the MLS photos, and reopen the house - done! Many thanks to the Barton Company team and I wish them success and prosperity in the future. Also thanks to the Angie's List community for the recommendation.

I stopped by the showroom after work and reading good reviews here. The salesman was able to answer all my questions and set up a measurement appointment for over one week in advance. The measuring was on time. After the measuring, I had a few more questions and they were also answered right away. On the day of installation, the installers were a little late. All my furniture was moved around and no furniture or walls were damaged. The carpet looks great and you cannot see the seams.

They came over and gave us a free quote and recommendations on the flooring that best fit our budget. They gave us a discount since we were on Angie's List, that helped. They arrived on the day and time they said they would and they completed the work when they said they would. They did an awesome job on the installation. My contractor was very impressed with them and has now started to use them on his current new homes that he is building. My parents stayed at our house one of the days they were doing the installation. My parents were stuck in our Master Bedroom while they laid the flooring in our living room. The crew went for lunch and when they returned they surprised my parents by bringing them lunch (burgers and drinks). My parents were appreciative. I highly recommend The Barton Co Carpets.

Communication was very poor. I was told what day the work would be done and that I must buy before work was completed. I assumed this meant that I needed to pay when the crew arrived, before they started working. I was never given a time to expect them. On the day of the install, I called Barton and was told that my install had been bumped because I never paid. Never mind the fact that I was never told how to pay. "Mail a check to ____" or "you can pay with a credit card here" were never mentioned at any point in time. I wrote an email to the rep I had worked with and let them know that I was very frustrated and disappointed. The rep then called me, apologized, and accepted blame. All good things to do. I was told that I crew would be sent to my house that day. Again, the right thing to do, but also what I had expected anyway because that was my scheduled day. The installers arrived on time. It was two men that didn't speak any English. To be clear, I have absolutely nothing against these men for not speaking English. They were polite and worked quietly. However, had I not been able to speak some Spanish, communication would have been non-existent. The men did not understand the scope of work they were supposed to perform because the work order was written in English. They worked quickly but perhaps too quickly. The seems are visible in the doorways. Some of the other joints are loose. They men parked their truck in the driveway and the truck leaked some oil. At one point during the install, I went outside and was surprised to see that one of their wives and two kids were sitting in the truck! It was hot so I took her some ice water. Overall, just not professional. I was pretty disappointed with Barton since they have high marks here on Angie's List. My expectations were not met but it could have been worse. As such, I give them a "C" for "Fair". UPDATE: This was a while back so the details are foggy. My apologies. The owner or manager called me an apologized for the less than stellar service. He explained to me that any time carpet is pulled up and put back down, the seems will be more visible than before. He also offered me 10% back which I appreciated. A check was mailed to me. I don't know that I would use them again, but I appreciated that he wanted to make things right. It at least lets me know that the leadership is squared away.

They were a good company to work with. They were neat, polite and on time.

This company is top notch. Everyone I interacted with was very professional and courteous. I first heard about Barton from my Realtor. She had great things to say about the company. I then did my own research on Angie's list and the web. I went ahead and called to make an appointment for an estimate. They accomodated my schedule and came out the very next day, right on time. Robert was the rep who came to the house. Can't say enough positive things about the man. He was very helpful and offered some great suggestions. My son and I went to the company showroom to choose our carpeting one day after school/work. We were running late and Robert stayed after closing to accomodate us. He was very patient and kind. He really helped out quite a bit when it came to our color selection. He was spot on when it came to choosing a color scheme that would work with the paint on our walls. He has a great eye. After we choose our carpeting we placed our order. Robert was very good about keeping me in the loop at all times regarding the status of the order and scheduled work. They were very fast at getting things done. They tore out all the old carpeting and padding from the house. They then sanitized my floors with a bleach solution and let the floors dry over night. They came to install the hardwood flooring, once again, accomodating my schedule and doing it when it was convenient for me. I then had them hold off on the carpet installation until I finished having some other work done on my home. They were very accomodating and rescheduled for the next week no problem. They then installed the new carpet pad and carpeting thoughout the entire upstairs including the closets (but not in the bathroom). They also placed it on the stairs and in the downstairs Master closet. We could not be happier with the way everything came out. The hardwood flooring and carpeting is so beautiful. It has really made our home gorgeous! The carpet is so soft! It feels heavenly on my sore feet after working all day! I highly recommend this company.

Went well, they even cleaned up and discarded old carpet.

We had an excellent experience with Barton from start to finish. Their showroom is small, but clean, well-stocked, and easy to navigate. Armando was our sales rep from the beginning, and his attitude, quite simply, exemplifies perfect customer service. This is a man who is genuinely friendly, knows his business back to front, and is more than ready to share that knowledge in a way I and my wife (who knew NOTHING about flooring prior to this little adventure) easily understood. He was instrumental in picking out the tile, kept the price within reason, and even with budget creep, we stayed under budget. The demo & installation crew did a job that was nothing short of phenomenal. They were courteous, an unobtrusive (which is really amazing considering the amount of work they had to do), on time EVERY DAY of a 6-day job, and did an outstanding work...they even stayed late a couple of days to stay on schedule. I have gotten more compliments on our tile & carpet in the past week than in the 2 years we've lived in our house. We will absolutely use Barton again when it's time to do the upstairs.

The process began when I emailed The Barton Co Carpets to schedule someone to come by to provide an estimate. I received a return call from Linda in less than a day. She came by the next day and took measurements and invited me to come by the showroom to look at their selections. The next afternoon Linda and I looked at 15 - 20 different carpet samples and then she invited me to actually try out the carpets with the carpet pad I'd selected. This process gave me the opportunity to narrow down my choices to just a few and she gave me samples of them in a variety of shades of the color I was interested in. After making the final decision the carpet was ordered and installed approximately 2 weeks later. The two guys who came to install the carpet were fast but they were careful of my newly painted walls at the same time. They also, at my request, got rids of a lot of squeaks in the stairs by screwing down the top board of each problem step. They cleaned up after themselves, vacuumed the floor, and placed the large pieces of furniture right where I asked them to. There was only one minor problem which has yet be addressed - one of the closet doors is off track and Linda mentioned she'd have someone come by...this hasn't been done yet but I'm sure a phone call will take care of the problem. Everyone at The Barton Co Carpets was a joy to work with and they made the entire process an enjoyable experience. Choose them for your next carpet installation job -you'll be glad you did!

I originally spoke with Armando and he was incredible from start to finish. He was very detailed and explained everything. He gave me several choices, catered to my needs and what I was trying to accomplish and was not pushy. Besides having the best price from three companies I spoke with the customer service was incredible! The installers arrived on time for installation and did a great job. I would definitly recommend and use for future projects.

He was on hands on from the time I first called him to look at the products and discuss what they had right through when you know I was all finished and told him that I was satisfied and didn't want anything else from him. It was kind of a surprise that the way they lifted say put some wooden threshold in at couple of transition points and he said it weren't enough to their standard had the guys that had done the work come back out and redo them completely. I was just very happy with them. The installers sometimes the guys that are doing the installation work you know be almost uncaring and abrupt. You know these guys were just really really good you know as a team of three young man you know doing their work and doing all that, but they were almost solicitive of me about you know how I wanted to stuff the moved, where I wanted it and where was this before we started, you know they were really concerned to protect the new floor so they asked me to get the things to put on the chair legs and all of that and they installed them. I was very pleased with them.

I had tried to get Lowe's Home improvement to install a ceramic tile floor in my upstairs bathroom before the Thankgiving holiday since we planned on having out of town family to visit. . The Lowe's estimator had nickel and dimed the project and had given me a ridiculous price of $1150.00 dollars just for the tile and installation plus an additional $375.for the purchase and installation of a new commode in the bathroom. I did not accept that price and searched on Angie's list for a contractor. After reviewing on the list I used Barton Flooring and contacted them, They gave me a price of 725.00 for the entire project and they said they would install a new commode that I was to supply them and they would dispose of the old one as par of the job. My wife and I went to a tile showroom and selected the tile. and proceeded to contact Valerie as to our selection. The work was scheduled and everyone showed up on time and proceeded with the work.Unfortunately the tile installed did not install the tile to mine and my wife's satisfaction as the seams moved on him and they were very irregular through out the bathroom. As I said before, the bathroom is only 70 sq. ft. but it has 3 doors (2 entry and 1 closet) and requires adjusting and cutting on many tiles. When they were finished we talked to Valerie and told her of our disappointment with the installation. Valerie came out to the house and looked at the work and agreed that it was substandard and gave us an option. She stated that Barton would replace the floor in it's entirety at no cost to us and that their main goal was customer satisfaction. We accepted the offer and they rescheduled the work. Barton sent out a different crew and they removed the ceramic floor, re-leveled the underfloor and installed and sealed the new floor in 2 days. The new floor looks wonderful and we are very happy to Valerie for her assistance. Barton made sure that we were happy and satisfied with their work and proved it. I highly recommend them as they place the customer satisfaction and their nr. 1 priority.They also did the work for 40% less than Lowe's and completed all work before the Holidays when we were having the family over.

Terrible! I called Barton to see if I could obtain an estimate for several small projects; I was transfered to three different representatives; when the third rep placed me on hold for 10 minutes, I hung up!

I feel the price was more than fair and the work performed was very good. Jimmie was responsive to all my inquiries and very friendly. The installers showed up at the scheduled time and did a very good job.

Barton's tile work is FANTASTIC, the technicians are first rate, they clean up after themselves. I rate this company a B because of their AFTER Sales Service. The person that came to my home to provide the estimate and write up the work order did not find it necessary to inspect the work of his staff he did not see the need I disagree. I am in the medical community and if I performed a procedure on a patient, the patient and their family would expect me to round on the patient to ensure all went as expected. I don't want to do business with a company who does not care enough to come and visit the site to ensure the customer is happy with the work and the work is up to the standard of the business' reputation.

I has used this company before I used Angie's list. I found that both times there service is outstanding.? They were on time, always was called back to let me that they would be there. The workers are the best and worked from the the time they started till they were done. They left everything just as clean as before they started.? The salesman was great and no matter which one I used its always great service.? I would recommend that others use there service. I look forward to more projects and they will be the first that I call.

They did a great job especially Valerie who came out to the house and gave suggestions on our flooring. She helped us with the selection of carpet and the guys who came to install it were very prompt. They did a really good job and were quick. They cleaned up after themselves well.

Kieth was the salesman and stayed on top of the job, all the workers did a great job.

Anthony and Eddie arrived when expected and expertly and very quickly installed the carpet.. They were as quiet as they could be, were very professional, and did a wonderful job. Because all of my dogs lived to be 12-16 years old ( I do not think the one I have now will be an exception), I am well experienced in carpet mishaps. Keith suggested Magic Fresh carpet (after hearing of my recent challenges with a now deceased Dalmatian) with a spill-guard pad which seems to be the perfect solution for any future problems. I had not heard of this product and was very happy that he suggested it.

They did a much bigger and professional job.? They were very nice and took their time to do a little job in my house.? They were very nice, honest and professional.? They were very friendly.? They quality of their work was very good.? ?I have a dog that messes up the carpet and out of many times that it's been repaired, they did the best.? I have probably gone to three or four different carpet people.? If my dog messes up again, I will be calling them.? I used them this April.? It was a good deal.

I highly recommend them. We are happy with what they did for us. They did a great job.

I found them on Angie?s List.? I know the people who own The Barton Co. Carpets I called him and he got me in touch with a floor tiles guy who worked for him as subcontractor.? They are really good people.? They are one of the best people over there.? They are quick to respond.? They are very professional and helpful.? They are top grade people to work with.? I would use them again if need be.

They do a great job. The work was outstanding because they were able to come out there and be able to do the consultation. They were able to take all the measurements. They went ahead and cleaned the area so that way they wouldn?t have any issues with it later on. There weren?t any damages when they went and laid down the carpet. Everything looked very good and they did a good job. I?ve actually used them multiple times.
