Description of Work: We had water backing up into the tub and shower when we ran the washing machine. We didn't want to wait until the next day for the repair, so they came after hours. That's why it was a bit pricey (there was an added fee for coming out after 5:00)but at least they were willing to do the job that day. They were courteous, professional and knowledgeable.

Description of Work: I used a reliable source of information - Angie's List - to help me locate a plumber with a low water pressure problem my wife and I we're experiencing in our home. I found Texas Plumbing Diagnostics on Angie's and noticed the consistency of solid reviews they had received and decided to call. They provided me with a time and date when they would appear and then received another call from them stating that an opening had presented itself and if I would like to schedule this earlier time. I agreed. Bradley appeared on time; performed some diagnostics and explained to me by process of deduction what the culprit was - a weak pressure relief valve. He replaced this part with a much higher grade (cast iron) pressure relief valve and also installed an expansion tank for my hot water. Bradley explained that by code this work and installation of this product (expansion tank) would require City inspection. Two weeks later a City Inspector came by and provided me with a certification of review. The difference and the performance of a correctly sized pressure relief valve has made a hugh difference throughout our household and we're very pleased. I would highly recommend using this plumbing service for their attention to detail, reliability and professionalism.

Description of Work: A plumber from Home Depot was installing new toilets in our home. He discovered the flange was cracked and said it needed to be replaced - for approx $800. He wouldn't get to it until the next week. I called TX Plumbing Diagnostics and they made an appointment for the next morning. They were there and gone in 2 hours - charging only $500. Couldn't be happier!

Description of Work: After a couple of toilet overflows and breaking off the shutoff valve, we called them in for a repair. We also asked they replace the toilet with one with and air-assisted flush system. They made the repairs the first day and ordered the new toilet. The next day they came back to install the new toilet.

I spoke with the owner, Norwood Bishop about water softeners. He explained what they offered. I checked other prices and he was about the same price as other companies, but his company seemed more professional. They arrived on time as promised and did a great job!

I called this plumbing company after consulting Angie's list and requested a service call to investigate a slow leak in a second floor bathroom that had resulted in a patch of discoloration on the ceiling on the first floor below the second floor bathroom. I got an answering machine. That should have been my first warning. I was called back later and the caller made an appointment for the next day at a set hour. The plumber arrived unannounced hours before his scheduled service time. I was still at work when the plumber arrived and my wife was at home. My wife called me alarmed at the plumber's estimate. I spoke to the plumber on the phone and he told me that he would charge $133 to cut a 12' x 12' hole in the drywall where the leak stain was. I asked him if this charge included investigating the source of the leak. He said "No, it only covers the 12' x 12' cut." I objected and why it would cost $133 to cut a hole in drywall and do nothing else? He told me that his employer required this charge, he was just the messenger, and there was nothing he could do. I told him that I was an Angie's list member and he said, "So what?" I asked whether I could come home from work, cut the 12' x 12' hole in the drywall, and have him investigate the leak. He told me he would still have to charge me a service call fee for coming out. I asked him how much the service call fee would be and he wouldn't tell me. I told him to get out of my house. I will never use this company again for anything. They are thieves! I cut the hole in the drywall myself this evening and it looks like a trip to Home Depot will fix this problem.

Thanks to Angie's List for allowing us to respond to this review. We, the Owners, asked our technician to describe the appointment. We then informed him of the complaint, and discussed it further. His observations and comments form the basis of this respose. Every prior comment from customers concerning this tech has been highly complimentary. The writer states that his call went to an answering machine. He called on Dec. 27th. We were understaffed due to the holidays, and the person taking calls was dealing with another caller when this call came in. The call was returned as quickly as possible. We apologize for the call going to an answering machine, and appreciate the client's willingness to leave a message. The writer states that our plumber "arrived unannounced hours before his scheduled service time." Due to traffic in a large city like San Antonio, and the fact that a previous job may be completed early, we typically schedule with a one hour window before and after the appointment time. Our techs are instructed to call the next appointment and ask if they can come early when they are available earlier than expected. Our tech states that he did call the writer's wife, and she okayed the early arrival. Our techs are nationwide background checked and drug tested. They arrive at the customer's home in a completely wrapped vehicle, which clearly displays our company information. We also park our trucks in plain view of the front door, so that customers will not be uncomfortable with our arrival. The writer states that his wife was alarmed at the estimate. Our tech states that she displayed no alarm. She told him that her husband and a buddy had already tried to repair the leak, and were unable to do so. It might be noted for clarification that our tech was going to cut a 12" x 12" (12 inch) hole, not a 12' (12 foot) hole. The writer never called our offices to discuss the charges for work to be done, but he was right that our tech stated the employer requires a $133 charge to cut a hole. Our policy is this: If we can visually inspect an area, without using any tools, there will be no charge. If, however, we are required to use tools to access the work area and make a determination of the location of a leak or other problem, we charge. This charge covers our cost to travel to the job, diagnose the problem, prepare the site for actual work to be done, and, very importantly, to make sure the customer is authorizing the hole to be cut in his or her ceiling. There are some people who want us to come out, determine the location and scope of a problem, and tell them how to repair it themselves. It would be obvious, even to the casual observer, that we would be unable to remain in business if we operated in this manner. As to the writer's claim of our tech saying, "So what?" in response to him being an Angie's List customer, and saying that our tech was going to require a service call fee, our tech states that he did not make these comments. He says they never spoke about a service call charge. I have the work form in my possession, and there is no service call fee listed on the invoice. Angie's List members will notice on our company information page that we do not charge a service call fee during regular business hours. As for calling us thieves: This claim has absolutely no basis; we informed the writer as to the next step to take in addressing his plumbing issues, charged him nothing, and took nothing from him.

TPD was 4th company to look at this job. For various reasons, others couldn't do it or wouldn't do it... laundry was piling up... out-of-town family coming early for entire Thanksgiving week... yikes!!! Joined Angie's List & found TPD w/rave reviews. The hubs called them right away... it was early evening. Live person answered the phone. Promised to come out sometime the next day to take a look. Quincy came out bright and early next morning, assessed it, gave us a quote and (after we recovered from the shocking price of $675!) went ahead and got the job done fast. He explained what he was doing, showed us where the cutoff was should we ever need it. TPD was most expensive quote we got... even w/Angie's discount. (to be fair, one company didn't give a quote, but their quotes for other work our landlord needed were sky-high... so they might have been much higher.) However... TPD also under-promised and way over-delivered!!! Smart move. Very smart. We'd already been waiting nearly 2 wks. TPD came out and did it the very next morning... most impressive! TPD is our new local plumbing company for sure!! (We have a small biz and totally appreciate high quality service over cheap rates.) I told Quincy he deserves a Superman shirt... he definitely saved the day! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! -- S :D

We called and they gave us the full rationale for the work that had to be done. They beat 3 other estimates. Sent someone within 2 days of our call- it was not urgent. Did the work quickly. Made sure we were very happy before they left. Looked and behaved professionally. My husband usually hates to deal with service folks, but he was all smiles and compliments about TPD! We would never call anyone else.

I really liked their service. When they pulled up they were dressed in doctors suits and the guy put on his doctor shoes(shoe protectors) to make sure that no dirt got on my floor and carpet. They were very professional. They came in got the job done and did everything they said they would do. My toilet was making noises upstairs and they fixed the noise. I will refer this company to whomever needs plumbing. Thank you so much TPD! P.S. I love the name. Its very sophisticated.

The two men, Daylan and Brad, called to let me know they were on the way. They were early since they finished their other job sooner than expected. They let me know about any potential problems. No problems ensued! They had me sign permission before the installation, and acceptance after the job was completed. They used a portable machine for credit cards. I was given an invoice and a credit card receipt. Everything was very professional. They removed the old toilets without leaving a trail or a mess. The bathrooms were clean and ready to use after they had tested the new toilets. I will definitely use TPD again!

They were timely, polite, and effective. They listened well too. Theirs was the best bid that we got. The quality of their work was outstanding.
Description of Work: We used TPD The Professional Doctor of Plumbing to build a new gas fireplace. There was a gas leak and they came and took care of it. There was a pipe that broke and they fixed that too.

So far we are off to a great start. Will report back when the job is completed.
Description of Work: Our 1960's bath tub/shower plumbing needed modernizing, requiring the partial removal of a wall inside a closet to gain access to the plumbing. Mr. Garcia came out to look at the job, give me an estimate and possibly do the work if time allowed and if we agreed on the price. When he cut into the wall he discovered leakage, but not from the plumbing, it was from worn grout around the tiled shower. He could have simply replace the faucets, collected his money and left. But he was honest. He capped off the water lines and agreed to do the work after we had time to do some renovation. Again, he simply could have left, but he didn't. We had no way to bathe!!! We have another shower in the house that hadn't been used for years. It had no shower head or handles to turn on the water!! He actually removed the shower head from the original repair job and put it on the other one, found the handles with help from our son, put those on too. Now we could bathe!!! All this, with nothing up front from me. He said we could pay him when he came back to finish the job. You can't buy honesty and kindness like that....it must be given, freely. They have a customer for life and I would recommend them to anyone.
