Structure Builders Over Texas

I must have interviewed about 20-30 different contractors in order to find someone I felt comfortable and confident with that wasn't just trying to hustle me and rip me off. We looked at several different types of siding to get installed from vinyl, LP Smartsiding, and Hardie Siding. The quotes we received for just the siding for many of the vendors in San Antonio were ridiculous, with some quoting almost 45 thousand. Our home isn't large, just a 1200 sq ft. home and I felt that was a bit extreme. Another thing that I did not like about the other contractors is that they tried to pressure sell you by saying if you sign right then and there you get this price, otherwise it will jump up by 10-15k even if you decide the next day. To me, this is a major red flag, if you aren't artificially inflating your prices you should be able to offer the same quote regardless if you get it now or later. Soon as they start doing that i basically kick them out. Out of everyone I had come over to give me a quote, Rudy and one other vendor were the only ones that did not try the high pressure sell. What I really liked about Rudy is that he was very knowledgeable and did not try to BS me with anything and he encouraged me to shop around because he said he was confident that he had the best prices and did the best work. Sure enough, Rudy beat the prices substantially of all the other vendors and quoted me with putting up the James Hardie Siding, Double Paned Windows that flip so you can reach both sides of the glass from inside the house, and 3d shingles for the roof. So I was getting a better quality product for cheaper. Needless to say I hired Rudy and his team. Unfortunately it took a few months to get the work started, not at any fault of Rudy's but due to family emergencies that took us out of town when the work was needing to take place. However when we were able to get scheduled again Rudy sent his guys at the set and agreed upon date and they began to work. I have to say that Rudy's team definitely took great care and consideration to ensure that they did a wonderful job on the siding and every little detail was taken care of and completed. There was one minor issue where a piece of siding fell and hit our water softener and damaged a small part. The unit still worked but Rudy was great about making sure they took care of the cost of repairs immediately. What is also great is that Rudy doesn't make you pay up front for the entire job, you pay in stages as the work gets completed which I think is great because you know they will continue to do the best job throughout because they still have to get the additional payments. And he takes the final payment only when all work is completed and any questions or issues are all resolved. And honestly we did not have any issues and we were able to send off the last payment without a hitch. In addition, the windows and roofing jobs were amazing and professionally done and the paint job on the siding is absolutely amazing. We definitely have the nicest house on the street that pops because of the beautiful job that they did. I highly recommend Rudy and Structure Builders, they have the best warranty in town, best prices, and in my opinion, the best quality of work. If you're on the fence, go ahead and rest assured with Rudy and Structure Builders because you will have the best results.

Thanks to hail damage, I had to pay out of pocket for a new roof since my deductible was too high, so I did a lot of shopping around. Structure builders was the first company that didn't make me feel like I was getting ripped off. Pricing was very reasonable and the roofing crew was terrific! I have witnessed roofers in my neighborhood take a week or more to complete the job, but Structure builders got it done in just 2 days. They were fast and professional and they paid special attention to ensure my yard was not destroyed. Even my neighbors commented on how considerate they were. I have two young kids who like to play outdoors so I appreciate their clean up efforts when they were done. They actually left my back yard cleaner than it was before they got there. Great job, I will definitely use them again in the future.

I had a wonderful experience with Structure Builders. From setting up the first initially appointment for the estimate to having the work completed, there isn't one complaint I have. I have recommended Structure Builders to my family and co-workers and will continue to do so. I look forward to having my kitchen remodeled in the future with this company as well!

My new living room looks amazing! It took about a week and a half all told with Enrique working by himself. He tidied up and the end of every day and taped up everything to protect my floors and furniture from being damaged. It was nerve racking to see my living room torn down to the studs but I'm so glad I did this as I absolutely love how it turned out! Removing the popcorn from the ceiling and giving it a fresh coat of paint really makes the room seem more spacious and inviting. The living room turned out just as I'd hoped it would when I was picking out materials and colors. Would definitely use these guys again! The lighting is not the best in the pictures but it gets the point across I think.

Very dissapointed. I called to enquire about an estimate and they responded quickly. Rudy came over the next day and promised to send over an estimate "in a couple of days". It has been several weeks and I have still not received it despite several promises that it would be ready "the next day". Complete lack of professionalism. If they are not interested in my business or if they are overly busy then they should say so. If I ran my business that way I would not have any clients left. Don't bother.

The crew got here at 8 in the morning and stayed until 6:30. They did a repeat of that schedule the next day and got it finished, I was impressed that they were able to get it finished in just two days! They did an excellent job cleaning everything up (actually left it in better shape than it was before they started). I would refer them to anyone. I am also using this company to install new floors and remodeling the kitchen. They did excellent work for me a couple of years ago when I added a bedroom to my house.

They came and did it quick, they just didn't follow up any. There was three workers that came to do the work. It took them 2-3 days to complete the work. They left the area clean when they finished the work.

Structure Builders I hired Structure Builders to replace siding, window screens and rain gutters that were damaged in the hail storm in April 2016. I definitely checked Angie’s List first and and called on the contractors that had top reviews. I was immediately impressed with the way Sasha took my call, and I thought the sales person, Eddie, was very professional and explained clearly all that needed to be done. We signed a contract December 1st and they said work would start in approximately 5 weeks. Sasha did call around that time to let us know we were on the list for sometime during the 2 weeks after January 14, 2017. It got towards the end of January without any word from them so I called and was finally given Tuesday, February 7th as a start date. I thought they were going to start on February 7th, but all that happened that day was a walk-thru by the owner, Rudy, and Tony, the contractor actually heading up the job. At that time it was decided they would start Thursday. The siding and painting would take a day and a half, then the gutters could be put in Saturday. (They did take the screens back to the shop with them to begin working on.) They said they’d be at my house around 9am Thursday – it was well after 10am before they arrived. Only two guys came. By lunchtime they had hung almost half the siding (only one outside wall was damaged, so only this one wall was being replaced). I noticed they were placing the new siding directly on top of the old siding. Apparently, that was something Rudy decided on Tuesday but didn’t share with me. Our contact says specifically to “remove and replace” siding. I know it’s not good to put a new roof over an old roof, so seeing the new siding going up over the old siding had me concerned. Sasha shared my concern since they were not doing what was written on the contact. After many phone calls later – between me and Sasha, Sasha and Rudy, and Rudy and me – it was explained to me that placing the new siding on top of the old siding was the better way to go since the damage to the old siding was more cosmetic than structural. What I really didn’t like was that during this whole back and forth, everyone at Structure Builders was blaming the sales person Eddie. “He’s not that knowledgable…he’s still learning…this is not his area of expertise…this is not his only job…” – Why is that my problem? Okay, so the siding went up on Thursday. I thought they’d be back Friday to paint, but as of 12:45 they had not shown up so I called Sasha, who called Rudy, who called Tony, who called me back to let me know they were concerned about the rain and that they’d plan to come Tuesday. (It did not rain Friday.) Now during all this, I am working full-time. I worked from home Thursday but didn’t feel I needed to be there Friday, but I did have my dogs to consider. I have two dogs that usually have run of the backyard when I’m at work, but I had to leave them locked up inside because I thought Structure Builders was coming Friday. More than that – my father-in-law passed away a few weeks ago and I inherited his very neurotic dog who has extreme separation anxiety and cannot be locked up all day. I had to take her to another relative’s house for the days they were going to be there. Which means on top of everything else a full-time working mom has to do — I had to drive her over there before work and pick her up after work. I told Rudy this on Tuesday. So, Friday was a bust. No work done. But then I get a call from Tony at 7:30am on Saturday that they would like to come that day to paint and install the window screens. (Yes, I was still asleep.) On the same day (Saturday, Feb 11th), Rudy said my gutters would be done the next week. I did not hear from them again until March 2nd when Rudy called to say gutters would be done the following week. Then didn’t hear anything from them until Friday, March 10th when I called them because another week had gone by with no word. Rudy told me that because it had been raining all week (it hadn’t), that he thought it was obvious why they didn’t come out. He didn’t realize he had to call me to state the obvious. I decided then to call them every day until the work was completed. So on Monday, March 13th I called the office number and Rudy’s cell. No reply. I finally got a call from the gutter guy Tuesday morning. He came out and measured (didn’t Eddie already do this?) and said he’d probably be back Friday and he was. Again, only a small 2 person crew, so what Rudy said would be a 2-hour job was actually a 9-hour job. Rudy stopped by around 3pm to get paid, but the work wasn’t done so we didn’t pay. He said they were almost done, just another 30 minutes… they were here for 3 more hours. All in all, the work is done, it looks fine and we have a lifetime guarantee, but Structure Builders could have made it a little more convenient for us (their client!). — 1. Keep us informed. 2. Show up when you are supposed to. 3. Don’t blame other employees for any communication breakdown. If your employees don’t have the knowledge to price and sell your product, that is the employer’s fault! 4. Bring a bigger crew! If they had brought 4-5 guys, they probably could have knocked out the whole siding part in one day. (Again, more convenient for your customers.) 5. Honor your contracts. 6. Don’t talk down to your clients!!! The only thing they don’t have to improve on is Sasha – she’s great!

The subcontractor Jose Martinez was excellent. He took pictures of everything daily and sent me them in case my insurance company had questions..

Rudy wanted $2500 up front, but didn't say that until, his guys were already at my place taking out my old floor and he and I were picking out tile at the store. His tile workers didn't show up until noon the first day and didn't show up at all the second day. They put a hole in my pantry door. They installed a broken tile in a corner near my garage. Rudy wanted me to pay in full even though I was not satisfied with the job. He actually said the broken tile was "settlement" of the house. I explained that a house doesn't settle that fast in a week! Do NOT hire this guy!

It went very well, although communication was sometimes SLIGHTLY lacking. It was not, however, a huge problem. Crews were all extremely cooperative, pleasant, and professional. We will hire this company again when we replace the remainder of our windows next year.

Rudy came out to our house to give us an estimate. He did not quote us the lowest price of the bids we got but was very detailed on what would be done and how it would be done. Anyone can quote a low price but I have to live with the results! Rudy's quote seemed to be the most realistic for the job. Rudy was available to answer any questions and remained involved throughout the project. The window guys came first. Man did they move fast! I am sorry to say that I forget the project supervisors name (like I said they moved fast :)) I just remember him being very polite and the crew guys were very careful as a lot of their work required them to operate on the inside of our house. Next was the siding. I cant say enough about Tony, the project supervisor on that project. Just a really nice guy who answered all questions as they came up. Most projects have surprises that come up for the crew doing them. Tony would always consult we me before he proceeded. I had a very good experience with Structure builders. The house looks like a new creation!

When hiring a contractor to come into your home you want to make sure the company is going to be trustworthy, careful, and be able to manage their time properly to get your job done in a timely manner. -Structure Builders was all that and more! As I shopped around a bit looking for the what I thought to be the best company to complete my project I found exactly what I was looking for! I am so thankful of Rudy, anytime we had any questions he was always there to answer them. Structure Builders finished the project in the amount of time I had available to get it done and it has turned out to be more than what my expectations were. If I ever need any other home improvements I will be shopping with this company again, no questions asked!

Not sure why they are getting so many good reviews, are those spam? The total cost estimated is double the average from other bidders. Promised to pass the work to someone else, never respond my emails. Bad!

Easiest remodel I have witnessed. Very professional gentlemen. The biggest obstacle was the weather. There were a few hiccups, but Rudy and his crew went above and beyond to make it right. Rudy kept me informed daily on progress as well as when his guys couldn't make it.

Rudy was nice and professional. He told me i would get an estimate in two days. Two weeks later and still not a word. I guess he was just more interested in taking his kids fishing since he was in our town. If you don't want the job just call and tell me. Don't leave me hanging. Not professional.

I hired Rudy and his team for a kitchen remodel. When I first met Rudy I could tell he had a long history in the remodeling business because he had ideas that I had not even thought of and I liked that. He listened to what I wanted to achieve and expounded on that from there. One thing I really like about this contractor is that whenever I reached out to him he was available for my questions no matter what time of day or night. The bottom line is that if I had a concern or questions about the project he quickly put out any potential negative thoughts and gave me a quick resolution by standing by his word and with integrity. You don't find that type of person nor business these days. The end result is a very beautiful kitchen remodel. Due to his high quality work from his talented crew, I had other projects that I asked him to do. Rudy is the only contractor I would ever use because he is fair and honest and most of all talented. I am very pleased.

The project began, Ruddy, Jose and Gill showed up and Ruddy explained the project to the crew and they started to tear down the old deck which was a much bigger job than I thought it would be as the deck floor had like 3" of concrete and then tile on top of that. The railing that they took down was extremely heavy and I was going to repaint it when they took it down, but because of how heavy it was and the fact that they would have to weld it back together when they reinstalled it, Ruddy advised that they would also paint the railing for me. I was very happy with this since it would have taken me the whole two weeks to get it painted myself. There were a few miscommunications with the size of the deck, but once I asked about it Jose talked with Ruddy and this situation was corrected right away and the crew was back to work. Every night the area was cleaned up. The new deck was installed on time even with the rain delays we had, as this has been the wettest spring we have had since I moved to TX. The railing was reinstalled and the welder come out a few days later to finish the railing as it needed to be extended a foot on each end and the middle piece needed to be secured to the end pieces. The whole project looked great. With all the rain storms we have been having I noticed that the windows and door in the room below the deck were leaking I called Ruddy right away and he was out the next day to look at the problem and installed additional flashing and caulking which corrected the majority of the problem. However, there was still a leak above one of the windows so with each rain it was still leaking. Ruddy and his crew came back out during one of the rain days and found that it was not the deck that was causing the leak, but the sill of the door leading out to the deck was not sealed anymore and water was getting in under it. So Ruddy had Jose and Gill replace the door sill and seal that area with flashing as well. With looking at the damage under the sill this had been a problem for a long time, and I had never noticed it before. I am very grateful for the diligence of Ruddy to discover the true cause of my leak and how quickly he took care of it for me. Jose and Gill were awesome to work with, always willing to answer my questions and explain things to me as well. Enrique the painter showed up and discussed the colors I wanted for the house and he was able to match the colors perfectly. It was amazing how quickly and neatly he was able to get things painted. He was very professional and polite, and always went above and beyond what I was expecting. He took care of things that I hadn't even thought of, the whole house looks amazing inside and out thanks to him. He was able to paint the deck railing in just few hours which was amazing to me since it took me days to do the lower deck railing myself. He is awesome and I can't say enough good things about his work. The whole area was cleaned up when they were done and I am extremely happy with end product and the follow up. Being a single woman, I was a little worried about having people working on my house and trying to sell me more than I needed, thinking I wouldn't know better. However, after meeting Ruddy and the crew I was very at ease and knew I would not be taken advantage of. I am diffidently keeping Ruddy's number in my phone for when I need additional work done. I will also be telling my friends about this company when they need work done around the house. I couldn't be happier with the way the project turned out. Ruddy is a lucky boss to have such great employees as he does with Enrique, Jose and Gill. Oh and Ruddy has this awesome application that the project is set up in online, so I could upload pictures, questions or concerns as well as all my documents in one place, so their wasn't ever a question as to what was going on. This was a new feature that he is rolling out, and I just loved it, so I hope he keeps using it as it will become even better the more it is utilized.

We settled on a two month time line and the project went a little over but part of it was due to my absence. The area was cleaned up every day and all of the craftsmen were professional and courteous. My grandsons have since taken up residence and they are thrilled with their new room. I would not hesitate to use Rudy and his crew in the future. He went over and above on some unexpected changes without amending his original estimate (as a matter of fact the project was finished under budget).

I am extremely pleased with the work that Structure Builders completed at our new home. Rudy was with us every step of the way - met us when he said he would, tracking down just the right finishing touches and even met me at my office when I couldn't break free from work to get approval on flooring! I have friends who shared horror stories of their contractors - not showing up, not completing work, etc. That was not my experience! If I ever had a question, Rudy was always a phone call of text away. His responsiveness and professionalism is impressive. His team of craftsmen are incredible and detailed-oriented. We couldn't be happier!

My house is built mid-50's, only 1 bathroom. The water line going to the shower inside the wall was rusted and had been leaking for some time, causing the bottom floor plate of the frame of my house to rot out and most of the structure around it also. You could see outside into my yard from the bathroom wall. This led me to opt for a complete bathroom remodel. It took a total of 5 working days to complete the job. Prior to getting started, I met with Rudy Paiz, the owner of the company. He personally looked at my house and provided me with a quote. He met me at a tile store so I could give him an idea of the colors and border that I was interested in. I put my trust in Rudy to take my ideas and choose a tile combination that I might like. I must say, he hit the nail on the head. The finished bathroom is absolutely gorgeous! Here's how it went..... Days 1 & 2 consisted of removing the entire bathroom, all tile, tub, toilet, sink and shower walls. The workers cut out and replaced all the plumbing lines & fixtures. They replaced the damaged wood framing of the house and also reinforced the wall studs where they felt it needed to be done. New insulation was put up and a new tub was put into place. Jose was the plumber/worker and also his son-in-law doing this. Then they put up the backing for the tile, hardy board I think, and new sheetrock on the rest of the wall. On day 3, Carlos came in and tiled the entire shower, all the way to the ceiling. He also laid all new floor tile. On day 4, Jose & his son-in-law came back to do all the grouting. They installed the toilet, sink and shower fixtures/faucets. On the 5th & final day, Enrique showed up. He's the finishing man and jack of all trades. In one day, he cleaned up all the grout and rough edges and made the tile "smooth." Then he put primer on the ceiling and walls of the bathroom. He hand designed a "Venetian" patterned texture and painted it. He caulked everyplace where caulking was needed. Now, where every tile meets the wall, it's clean. Where the pained wall meets the newly installed trim, it's clean. On the corner wall where the tile ends and the sheetrock begins, he made a smooth transition of texture & grout. Everything has a "clean," fresh new look. The owner of the company, Rudy Paiz, was in contact with me the entire time and came over to check out the progress twice. HIs guys laid down paper & tarp flooring so as to minimize tracking debris through the house. They removed items from the bathroom and cleaned up as they went. Rudy's workers were professional and didn't waste any time getting things done at all. Never once did I catch any of them goofing off. They were all about getting the job done. Money well spent. I have other home repair projects in line to be done and Rudy will be the first person I call to come look and give me an estimate. Rudy is the kind of business owner who gets involved with the customer personally from start to finish. This is the kind of company I would be happy spend money with and employ to do my other home repairs.

Structure Builders remodeled our kitchen last year and at the time, Rudy and I discussed our need for replacement windows. When I was finally ready to have a few done, I called Rudy and we had the windows ordered and installed in about 30 days. The windows not only look great and really improve the curb appeal of the home, but they have improved the comfort of our master bedroom which had always been about 10 degrees different from the rest of the home. I can't wait to have the rest of the house done.

Everyone we had an experience with at this company from the owner Rudy to Jessica in the office and Tony the project manager were professional and easy to get in contact with and answered all questions. Tony was always on site doing much of the work himself - he takes pride in doing a good job. All the other guys worked hard, but always had smiles on their faces - they all seemed to take pride in doing a good job. I rarely needed to call Rudy because Tony could answer most of my questions. When I did call Rudy, though, he got right back to me. The same with Jessica in the office - she responded to any request promptly. I didn't have too many questions, though, because Rudy did exactly what he said he was going to do. We wanted Hardi Plank but also wanted to make sure we had the full warranty from Hardi Plank. In order to have that, the installer must be a Preferred Installer who installs according to the specifications of Hardi Plank. Structure Builders is one of the few installers who are on that list. They removed old siding and rotted wood and replaced with USB board and then wrapped with hardiwrap and then finally the hardi plank. We have had a lot of compliments on our house. We had neighbors who came over and got business cards from the guys because they liked the way they were doing our house. We would definitely use them again when we have any future projects. I can recommend them without any reservations.

The work was performed as we had requested. The workers were very professional and did an excellent job of dismantling the structure which had a lot of glass, cleaning and then painting the floor. They were very careful and took pride in their work. They also showed up when they said they would and would call if they were going to be delayed. Would definitely recommend this company and the workers that they employ.

Nobody beats Rudy's customer service. No construction project is without it's hiccups, but Rudy stayed in touch throughout the project to fix any problems and make sure the job got done right. In addition to the kitchen remodel, Rudy's crew also replaced a ceiling fan in the master and a full wall-sized mirror in the master bath with 2 framed mirrors. They also re-tiled the wet bar. The experience was great and I would definitely recommend Structure Builders to a friend.
