It was a new exsperience working with this company .The owner Brandon took time to exsplain all the details of the work that would be done as well as the products that would be applied. It is hard to find professional companies that we feel comfortable using and trusting with our home in todays market. Brandon made me feel completly at ease in trusting him to do the job right the first time. It turned out beautiful and we will be recommending this company to friends and family. His employee had a great attitude and was happy to answer all our questions .

SCAMMED. Way over-priced for horrible materials, workmanship and total lack of professionalism. On the flagstone, he caused more problems than he solved with a milky coating remaining. I had to hire a different contractor to strip it and re-seal. The fence painting is splotchy and needs to be redone. He was actually using spray cans for parts of the fence! I have re-painted the deck, but the flat paint that he chose continues to mar every time we walk on it. On all the work overspray was a chronic problem. When he power washed in preparation, he left significant amounts of debris in our pool. He did not clean this up and said it was normal. We had to hire another company to clean it out. Near the end of the job, when confronted with these issues he physically threatened me. He is an absolute scammer.

It is very unfortunate that this customer has left an extremely false and misleading review, adjusting the facts. This customer, although leaving a negative review on the work provided, actually decided to go around the business and hire the worker who did the work. That speaks volumes for the quality of work that my company provided. If the workmanship was so poor, why would he directly hire the worker... This customer has been caught doing this and is in breach of contract, therefore he's trying to hurt my business. I hope that other customers take the time to read other reviews of many satisfied customers.

It was a big job and rain did interfere, but it was important for it to be done right and waiting for that to happen was a priority to the owner as well as myself. I appreciated that and the thoroughness and meticulous care of repairing the deck before the staining was impressive. The choosing of the color stain was a bit intimidating but trusted the owner's advice and am really glad that I did. The flagstone patio area came out beautiful; they took extra care to make sure that any mold was removed and the sealant brought out the color in the stone as well. Really happy with the results.
Description of Work: I needed a very large wood deck with railings and lattice work, power washed, rotten wood replaced, and stained. There was also a flagstone patio abutting the wood deck, and the stone needed to be sealed. They carefully went over all of my concerns and how the work would be done. The sequence of work was discussed and timing would depend on the weather since dry surfaces were important as well as time for the stain and sealant to dry.

With all of the unprofessionalism and lack of integrity out there these days, it was very refreshing working with Brandon at Stain Concepts. Brandon and Mike did a fantastic job on my floor. They shot blasted the old floor, laid down a base coat of epoxy, applied a medium flake and urethane clear coat. Brandon helped me pick out the perfect base epoxy and flake color combination. I also like the fact that Stain Concepts stands behind their work with a nice warranty.

My husband and I decided to go with Stain Concepts for our first epoxy flooring experience for our garage. My hubby wanted Harley colors and Brandon definitely did an amazing job at delivering! I'm all about keeping business local and Brandon and his company are great! He was was extremely professional, helpful in our first time needs, did a phenomenal job and I can't say enough good things about him and the service he provides. We are so very happy with the end result on our garage. I would recommend him to everyone and tell you not to hesitate for one second to allow him to coat your floor with the epoxy. Awesome experience, great guy. Keep your business local and call him!

It was really expensive, but I did it anyway. $500 covered only one car garage, and I have a 3 car garage. I had bought the offer so I went ahead and did it. I think the pricing should have been more transparent before my purchase. I wasn't able to compare the price with another company. I ended up buying the service from them, but it looks like a hook to me. The quality was very good I still have their work.

Brandon and his crew at Stain Concepts were awesome! I was contacted by Brandon in a timely manner, everything was explained to me. The crew showed up on time on the date of the services. Everyone was extremely professional. The end result turned out better than I had hoped for! My goal was to cover up the existing stains on my garage floor (house was built in the 70's so there were lots of stains when I purchased the house), I had no idea I would be getting such a "showroom" floor. Anyone that comes over is always so impressed. Stain Concepts also did concrete staining on my small patio, which looks amazing. (It was very old and had lots of stains too, just like the garage). I recently had a deck built and they did a beautiful job staining the wood to achieve the look I was going for. I would highly recommend Stain Concepts to anyone who is looking for a beautiful result!

After original pricing was given at the home show additional charges were made without prior knowledge. When we contacted the company about our concern they left what we thought was a rude message basically saying we were told ahead of time and too bad. So we paid 1,900.00 and change for a very small 2 car garage. Also the epoxy floor has cracks in it. We didn't know that would happen either. Just feel a little ripped off.

Watch out! If Brandon comes with a special deal because they have an opening tomorrow do not even let him continue his pitch. He knows every sales manipulation trick in the book and he will be happy to demonstrate his mastery of these skills. Met him at the San Antonio Home and Garden show. Said all we wanted was our porch sealed. By the time he was done with us we were talked into everything including the driveway for $3400. Looked at Angie's List and found satisfied customers. Thought we were getting a good deal but should have gotten another quote. Two hours after he left we got buyer's remorse and tried to cancel the contract. He said he had already purchased supplies and could not cancel. He started shouting over the phone. To calm things down I agreed to have him do the porch and sidewalk. He had $1700 of my money and I was concerned I would never get anything for it. Researched Texas Attorney Generals website for "3 day right to cancel purchase". https://texasattorneygeneral.gov/cpd/the-3-day-right-to-cancel-a-purchase Presented him with the written notice the next morning. He yelled, "What? You are canceling? My man had to drive all the way from Castroville and I had to purchase the materials." Accused me of not being "Christian" for wanting to cancel. Left angry. He called back and said the law did not apply because the job was scheduled for the next day and not after three days. So he did the job. It took 4 hours including a long lunch and drying after the power wash. I paid a stupid tax.
Description of Work: Power washed front porch and sidewalk. Approximately 300 square feet. stained the porch sealed porch and sidewalk with acrylic. The stain job did not take evenly. They came back two weeks later and determined the problem was in the concrete not the stain job. Added another coat of sealant.

This is a case of using Angie's List to hurt a service provider and getting free / discounted services. Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] told me that they wanted their job done ASAP because they had a landscaping crew coming in that week. I moved my schedule around to accommodate next-day service and immediately went out to purchase all material needed for their job. Myself and my installer showed up the very next morning to get started on the job. I rang the doorbell and Mr. [Member Name Removed] walked outside with 3 pages of paperwork saying that he can "legally back out". This is the first I had heard of him wanting to back out, but I had already purchased all of his products and was there to do his job. He then negotiated, leaving out 30% of the job and only paying half price for the work completed. It was extremely unfair to my business, but we did it anyway to try to accommodate. After the job was finished, Mr. [Member Name Removed] left this bad review. Upon calling the Fentons to try to resolve whatever issues they had, they said that they were happy with the quality of work provided and that if we refund all of the money back they would erase the review. There was no tax charged to the Fentons. This is a case where a customer uses the Angie's List review system to try to get free work by hurting hard-earned ratings with false reviews. Please look at other reviews for an accurate assessment of this company. We take pride in our work and customer service.

I got a quote from the owner for resurfacing my back patio floor with epoxy. The patio is 29 feet by 10.5 feet. He started with a high quote but said that he could come down on the price if I would have the work done in the next few days. He said that he was able to offer that price if I did it soon and because they had a 2 day opening that week and that they are normally completely booked every week. The owner's worker, did all the work by himself and the owner said that he would finish in 1-2 days. Patrick showed up to start the work, on time and the owner Brandon, reviewed what he was to accomplish and said he would deliver the materials to him later. Patrick went to work scraping the raised spots and imperfections on the old floor. After awhile he plugged in his high powered blower. I checked on him a few times, but did not want to slow down his work. After several hours it was apparent that he was done with the floor. The owner brought the floor materials, mixed them and Patrick went to work applying the coating. This is only done once and has to be pretty correct the first time, as you cannot undo the coating once it is already on the surface. Nor can you walk in the finished area. From the door, it looked pretty good although it was wet. When he was finished he asked me to look at it from the backyard so I walked around to the back. He did have materials strewn about the yard but said he would clean everything up which he did. He also promised to clean up the paint chips that were strewn all over the grass and walkway from the scraping he had done earlier. Patrick directed my attention to small chips and holes around the edge of the patio and had me point out all of the areas he missed and touching them up. He said we could not walk on the patio for a few days; that it was done. Brandon showed up the next day on time and looked at the floor and walked on it in his socks. He invited me to go out as well. Brandon was happy with the job thus far and took some pictures of it because, he said, it looked so good. Patrick showed up and cleaned up some more until Brandon came back with the clear top coat material. He helped Patrick apply some of it. He said I should wait 2 days before I walked on it. Patrick said if there were no more questions he would clean up and leave. I actually went out back and helped him pick up some of the paint chips. I told him not to worry about the rest of the clean up. The popped bubbles from the top coat left some permanent marks, but overall I was very satisfied with the job.
Description of Work: He prepared the patio floor and 2 steps and then put an epoxy coating and seal coat on them.

They showed up and power washed and stained in the same afternoon. We asked for a thick, shiny glaze under the patio's and a thinner version on the uncovered parts. It continued to look splotchy and not shiny like we asked for. In no way was it thick. I think the owners name is Brandon @ 210-426-2230. He sent the guy back to apply another coat as the splotches did not disappear. It has been almost 7 mos. The splotches never went away and the shine is non existent. It looked better in it's dry, unfinished state. I am currently looking for new bids to do it correctly. I think they applied it onto my wet patio and that is the problem. The only explanation I have heard is that "sometimes it just looks like that". Really? I almost forgot?.the worker poured the chemicals onto the roots of my new plants during his cleanup. The plants and grass nearby have had to be replaced twice because the chemicals killed the area. Overall AWFUL experience.

Sorry you feel this way if there is anything we can do please call me.... I know that u were so happy when we finished you loved everything and you had said how great it looked. I’ve never heard back from you . I’m willing to go back for no charge and fix any issues. We never really have too many issues but with concrete and the Texas elements sometimes things happen. Please look at my other reviews to get a better idea on how most people feel. The important thing is to have a working relationship and an issue occurs call me I would have come back to help solve the issue. Please call me guys if any issues let me know about it then if you are not happy leave your bad review. But lucky most people do call me and I do come and fix any issue. There are reviews about that same thing where I knew about the issue. I am proud of what we do here. Thank you for reading.

They were very nice on the phone when I made the arrangements. They showed up on time and did an excellent job on the floor. It is beautiful. The workmen were very courteous and left everything clean and a job well done. Where I did not want the epoxy, they left a very clean tape line so it looked very professional. I highly recommend them.

Advertising was unclear. Epoxy staining would cost about $700 vs what appears to be advertised as $49. Update - .Initially purchased a deal with wording that ended up seeming misleading. Rating/review was based solely on the posting of the deal, not on the service as I ended up canceling the purchase and spoke to Angie's list about ensuring postings/deals are clearer. Vendor called me twice to request change of posting and when I noticed description was changed and clearer I agreed to change.

The deal for 50% off the complete deck staining project. We have half Trex and half cedar. The cedar part needed to be restained and Brandon (426-2230) said he did not do projects like that. The entire deck needed to be done. He supported our refund. I'm sorry but the above date is a guess. I cannot find my 2013 calendar which has the date he came over.

From the beginning Brandon let me know that the staining the decks would not look uniform due to the patch work on the deck of different concrete. He was very upfront and frank with me. After he arrived I decided to get the front porch done also. Brandon was very professional and upfront with the expectations of the concrete look. It was not quite what I expected but it was what he promised the concrete could look like. I thought that the price was a little high but Brandon assured me that the price is not above what other companies charge. Brandon went above and beyond to make sure my experience was a good one. I was not totally satified with the look at first but Brandon assured me that it would darken up and it has and the concrete looks good. The worker that Brandon had to come out used 2 gallons of stain on the concrete. He told me usually they only use less than a gallon. He called me after completion to ensure that everything was to my satisfaction. Overall very professional and a stand up company...

They responded quickly and were really nice but we did not go with them. They responded through e-mail within 24 hours of me contacting them. We decided to go with tile floors instead of stain floors. Even though they did not come out, they were able to give me an estimate based on the information i gave them about the house and they gave me an idea of what we are looking at doing. Their price was average.

OMG!! Brandon was awesome! So nice to deal with and very customer service oriented. What he promised, he delivered! The patio went from "blah" to beautiful! He recommended the color and he was right on! His workman was also great. Very personable, hard worker. I never had stained concrete before, but seeing it now, I would like to stain everything! It was an interesting process. The person who applied the acid stain needs to have an artistic touch, and this guy did. I can't wait to put out my patio furniture and enjoy it. If you have any doubts...don't. Call Brandon and talk with him. He is Mr. Customer Service. He knows his business and turns out a BEAUTIFYUL product. I will recommend him without hesitation to anyone! I couldn't be more pleased. Update: Well, this is a lesson to not jump the gun on doing a review! Brandon wanted me to do the review immediately and now I know why. When the acid stain was first done, it looked great. It did have a white haze on it, but I was assured that would go away. It didn't. I contacted Brandon and he said they would put another topcoat on it and that would solve the problem. It didn't. It still looked bad. He insisted they did nothing wrong and it was the fault of my concrete. They had "never seen anything like this before". It looked awful and I wanted it fixed. Brandon wanted me to buy an epoxy garage floor and then he would fix the patio 'for free". I wasn't willing to spend another $2200 just to get the patio fixed when it should have been done right the first time. Then he finally said he would put a stain on it and do it for $300 and "eat" the rest of the cost. He was pretty impatient and unfriendly at this point, and kept insisting they didn't do anything wrong. I googled the acid stain expert for the US and called him. He was very informative and commented on the pictures I had sent him of the patio. I also called Angie's List to comment on the antagonistic attitude from Brandon. I called Brandon and told him about both calls. He was very belittling of the expert in CO, referring to him as my "little man" and he didn't care what he had to say. When I mentioned that I talked with Angies List, he really got irritated and started bullying me, trying to make me feel like I did something wrong and this was all my fault. His caustic attitude and some of the things he said to me were outrageous. He can be very charming (as he was at the beginning) but he is definitely not about customer service. He said they would put on a stain and that should fix the patio. He finally said he would do it for free, but had no qualms about literally shoving the invoice in my face and showing me what this "fix" cost him. He is a bully! The patio still does not look right. I would never use him again nor recommend him to anyone. If his "charm" does not work on the client, he gets nasty. Lesson learned...don't write your Angies List review the day you have work done! Update 8/11/2014: I don't think there is a resolution here. Brandon's response is tragic. Brandon insisted I write my review immediately after they finished the job and I pretty much did, even though I told him I was concerned about the white haze (as stated in my review). When I did my updated review after our confrontations about his responsibility to fix it, he called me about 4-5 times begging me to change the review to "at least a C" and if I did, he would come back next year and put on a topcoat for free. I told him I gave him the overall "F" for his bullying attitude and the demeaning way he talked to me. He said he didn't mean to bully me...but he did. Brandon said I "really hurt him" and "I thought we were friends". This was recorded. His assistant, Patrick, with whom I had no problem at all, also called me a couple of times the same day wanting me to change the review. I told him I didn't have a problem with him at all, but my concern was with Brandon's nasty, demeaning attitude about redoing the patio. He used some of the same words Brandon did during the phone call (like "I'm hurt") so I believe Brandon had coached him...or was there with him. Brandon was NOT uncomfortable around me at all. He wanted to know how much a house cost in my area and what the payments were. We did a lot of joking around on the consultation day, but not after that. It was business. He is upset about what it cost him to redo the patio and my updated review, and is now having a tantrum because he could not intimidate me into changing my updated review. I'm not the one making up information. I had told the stain expert in CO and an Angies List representative what had happened BEFORE I wrote the updated review. As I stated in my updated review, Brandon got very antagonistic and hostile after telling him about these two calls. I don't really have a desired resolution. I won't recommend the company to anyone just because of his attitude about fixing the patio. I feel sorry for him that after harassing me on the phone, he felt the need to lie, saying I made up the information just to hurt his business. When I got his numerous calls begging me to change the review, I called Angies List to ask how to get him to stop harassing me because of the updated review. Since he was so threatening, I even talked to my neighbors and the HOA. He needs to be a big boy and take responsibility for his poor attitude. Maybe he has made other customers happy, but he didn't me. He should be ashamed of not only his behavior but lying. Not the way to do business. My conscience is clean.

Unfortunately, the home sold too quickly for me to have the work completed. The new owners plan to use him in the near future.
Description of Work: I called Brandon to see if he could remediate a poorly applied and dangerously slick epoxy coating done by one of his competitors. Once he heard who the contractor was, he offered to fix the problem for a greatly reduced price, basically cost of the supplies with free labor. His only goal was to fix my problem and ensure the safety of my family. He told me how he could fix the problem without having to completely redo the job, something his competitor said wasn't possible.

I got a refund from Angie's List. I felt like it was a bait and switch. For them to do the type of work they were advertising, it would end up costing me $1400-1500. I had called them several times and they finally got back with me. After the first phone call, they quoted me $1500.

Purchased the Big Deal in anticipation of getting our home fence replaced. Brandon at Stain Concepts was flexible and honored the Big Deal even after its expiration. When setting up the Big Deal, we were quoted a $1500 price to stain the fence by the provider. Multiple competitors quoted $400-$600 for the same job (supplies not included) which was significantly less than Stain Concepts quoted. I called Stain Concepts and they regretted that they could not match the competitor's pricing. They were extremely professional and cordial and understood my choice to go with competitors who offered better pricing.

The garage floor looks great. We went to the San Antonio Home and Garden Show where Stain Concepts had a display booth. We received a discount for signing up at the home show. The work was performed as described. We opted for the epoxy top coat which was a great decision because it gave our floor a nice glossy finish. We are very happy with the work performed.

Then hiked up the price because he said he didn't include the covered part or spa. Paid $3300 and did not get the 50% off with the voucher. His pricing was arbitrary and excessively high. Also the stain sample he showed us was considerably darker than the stain used - very unhappy with the finished product. This is the first Angies List provider with whom we've been sorely disappointed. Left all the paint cans in yard, too. Cannot recommend Brandon, who we dealt with, though his worker did a good job.
Description of Work: Quoted us $2400 to prep and stain our deck.
