Shaw Company Painting & Remodeling

Unfortunately at the beginning the Project Manager had a medical emergency. The two gentlemen in charge of the construction really stepped up in getting the job on its way. We were informed of any change in schedule, delivery of material, answered all our questions, worked with us in last minute changes, also gave us helpful advise. We were very impressed how minimal construction debris accumulated, each worker kept cleaning up daily and after each job. Anthony and Alain Martinez were open to our ideas. My wife and I are amazed at the transformation of our kitchen.

They were very responsive. I loved how they gave a quote with budget amounts for faucet and shower hardware and when we went to pick it out there was really no chance of us going over budget. I even had them repair some cracks in the ceiling that were unrelated to the bathroom. When it was done, I found a few minor things I wanted fixed and they were there the next business day to make them right. I would totally recommend them for a remodeling project. We will certainly use them again for our next remodel project.

Terrible and the workmanship and quality was not there. Then it took 6 months to fix warranty work.

I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH ERIK FOR 3PM. AT 4:20 PM HIS OFFICE FINALLY CALLED TO SAY HE WAS RUNNING LATE. ERIK SHOWED UP ABOUT 15 MIN LATER, SO 1 HR 35 MIN LATE. NO APOLOGY FOR THE DELAY. CAME IN AND IMMEDIATELY SAID "WELL, WE CAN KNOCK OUT THE WALL BUT YOU CAN HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE FLOORING IF YOU WANT. I MEAN, WE CAN DO IT BUT "WE'RE ENGINEERS". HE TOLD ME WHAT HE WOULD DO, DID NOT ASK WHAT I WANTED DONE AND WAS RUDE AND DEMEANING WHEN I WOULD ASK QUESTIONS. LIKE I WAS STUPID. BUT "HE WAS AN ENGINEER". WHICH HE MUST HAVE SAID 4 TIMES. I FELT REALLY AWKWARD BECAUSE I'M HIRING SOMEBODY BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING AND AM LOOKING FOR SOME HELP. IT IS NOW 10 DAYS LATER AND I HAVE NOT EVEN RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE FROM HIM. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS GUY AT ALL.

Couldn't be happier and if anyone requires work and you use Shaw, get the aforementioned guys. You won't be sorry.

Shaw Remodeling did a wonderful job on my master shower. They took out the old bathtub and surround and installed a walk in shower with glass doors. The contractors were very good and Carlos was great, responding to any concerns I had quickly. Would definitely hire them again and I highly recommend them.

The progress was pretty smooth. The proposal and choosing the products in the showroom was very convenient and helpful. The project started on-time and the guys were very respectful of our home. They were a little behind with the tile installing as well as the bath tub install. Rusty our project lead was helpful and did his best to communicate with us. The granite, flooring and cabinets are beautiful. The bathroom was completed in 3 weeks except for the frame-less glass for the shower. It had to be measured and custom ordered after the shower was complete. The glass took an additional 2 1/2 weeks to come in. However, it looks amazing. I am very particular and there are a few quality things that I cannot rate an A+. The tub drain did not come in the Bronze Finish so they had to use a fixture paint to get it to match. I am not sure how long that is going to "hold up" before it scratches. There are a few areas where the wall texturing needs touched up and the paint trim touch ups did not match that well. They did offer to repaint the trim but I figured my husband and I could do a better job ourselves and keep things cleaner. Overall the bathroom does look beautiful and I am satisfied. I would most likely have them do work again.

Everything went smoothly, from picking out the materials to installing the light fixture. The granite for our countertop was no longer available so our contractor chose another one which I liked even better. We had glass blocks installed as well as tile for the walk-in shower and flooring. It looks beautiful. I would definitely use this company again.

It took 3 weeks from start to finish. We had our tub removed and enlarged our shower, had cabinents made, painted the walls, new tile on the floor and all new fixtures. I would recommend this company to anyone. They are trustworthy and professional and did a great job.

We were very satisfied and would certainly recommend them. We said what we wanted, they quoted a price and timeline…and they delivered exactly what they promised. In the past we have had bad experiences with contractors, with increasing prices and rapidly expanding timeframes, but they have renewed our faith. After we saw the efficiency they had in the first week I was a believer. Project manager (Juan) communication Came by on a regular basis to make sure everything was on schedule and at the level of quality we expected. There were issues along the way, but when we noticed them we never had to worry because we knew he would be along soon and get it taken care of, which they always did. Pride in their work We noticed that even when there was easier ways to do things, they chose to do them in the highest quality way possible. A friend who understands tile was amazed at the precisian lines they kept, even within the alcoves. The extras Little things that made it “our bathroom” like raising the counter height, adding a heat fan, raising the shower, and adding shelves in the right place and size for us. Great experiance

Removed existing tub and enlarged existing shower. Installed a linen closet. All plumbing, dry wall and tile work were excellent. Staff and the Supervisor, Carlos, were excellent and were very professional. The Show Room visit was very professional and the staff was very helpful in assisting in the selection of materials. They did an excellent job in protecting the surrounding areas from damage and dust. Unlike other renovations this was a great experience for us and I would highly recommend them. I will use them for future projections I plan.

I was most impressed with the professionalism of Shaw Company. Under four weeks, start to finish, including Thanksgiving days off. Their showroom makes it easy to select materials and finishes all in one place. Salvador Garcia and his crew, Israel and Franco, were prompt, neat, clean and efficient. Am extremely pleased with the look and quality of the final product. I love my new bathroom! Will definitely use them again.

Clearly Shaw doesn't need the business. Moving on...

Rusty was the main person doing the job. He is a perfectionist and and has a very artist eye to know what goes good together. He has some problems with getting some of the supplies but worked around that. The finished project was beautiful. He matched the vinyl tile on the floor with the marble counter tops.

Everything went mostly well for the project; however, soon after the project began one of the major contractors quit. Then we discussed what we needed done for the remainder of the project things moved along well through the kitchen & guest bath remodel with only a couple of minor mistakes by the contractor that were straightened out and fixed by the contractor. The contractor then moved on to the major remodeling to be done - the master bath. Again, things seemed to go along well, but I needed to constantly be available to check on how the contractor was doing so that I could correct the mistakes that seemed to keep cropping up. We started getting to the finish on the master bath when the contractor seemed to be in a hurry to finish up and was not paying attention to detail and was rushing finish details and not doing as good a job as he wanted to get to the utility room and half bath to finish up our job. About 2 1/2 months after the completion of the project I called the owner of Shaw Remodeling and advised him that the grout on the floor of the shower was coming out around the drain and other places on the floor as well as the floor was lifting in another place and that the glass block in the shower was not done properly. I also discussed some other problems with the painting and cleaning of the grout that were a problem and he said he would send a Mr. Carlos Martinez out to look the job over. Carlos came out and evaluated the job and then had his crew out to take care of the various problems. Mr. Martinez's crew came out when expected, were on time and took care of everything that needed to be redone. Mr. Martinez himself came to check on how things were going as well as to call and see how everything was going. My thanks to Eric Shaw for standing behind his work and thank you also to Mr. Carlos Martinez and his crew for fixing everything that needed to be redone. Thanks to Mr. Martinez and his crew I am now completely satisfied with the finished remodel job and also feel that I can recommend Shaw Remodeling as they stand behind their work and take care to satisfy their customer. The Shaw Company came highly recommended to us and we could not be more pleased. From my first call (of many, many calls, as we had not yet moved to San Antonio and were working almost "blindly"), Gerrilynn won me over with her warm and congenial manner and good humor. Her calm and always positive responsiveness was a much-needed tonic in the panic of double-house-closings and impossible deadlines! Paul worked us in very quickly for an estimate, and then Fortune stepped in to place our job under Juan's supervision: he and Bryan turned back flips and worked over a weekend to get our house painted on a schedule tightly choreographed with floor installers and long-distance movers' arrival. There were NO hitches and the Shaw standard of craftsmanship met our very high expectations. Each of the Shaw employees we have worked with has a special talent for listening and responding with action! I must also mention the highly-talented Ladies who did the detail work: their good cheer and great skill with a brush were an inspiration. I wish I knew each of their names as well as the name of the tape-and-bed patch specialist, whose repair work is virtually undetectable. The entire team worked together seamlessly and the only evidence of their presence that they left behind was a beautifully-painted home. Clearly, The Shaw Company's company-wide philosophy is to Respect the homeowner and do Excellent work: it makes all the difference in the world.

We met with Paul first who was very prompt and courteous and had the quote to us the same day as the consultation. We went to the store and picked out our tiles and tub. We provided the shower doors and toilet(better price from Lowe's). The job started within a week of our initial consultation and was scheduled to take a week since it is a small bathroom. Needless to say, it took 2 weeks since the job supervisor decided since it was a small job that he could do it himself. When the job was done we had one major glitch, that could have been prevented, with the plumbing that required the plumber to come back out and fix it. He had to cut a hole in my daughter's closet to get to the plumbing. After the job was finally completed I noticed several areas that didn't have grout in the shower and contacted the company right away to let them know so it could be fixed. I ended up contacting them 3 times and had to wait 3 weeks to get the grout fixed by someone who did a better job than the original installer! Needless to say, we felt that we overpaid for an ok job at best. There is still lots of grout that was left on the tiles from the original installer that will have to wear down with time. I contacted the company to let them know that I was displeased with how the shower was left but no one returned our call. We will be seeking a different company to do our downstairs bathroom remodel.

This was our first remodeling job so when the work began and they started to raise the ceilings and gut everything we realized how knowledgeable this company was. They were very polite, friendly, worked around us when we needed to get in the refrigerator, they were very professional, and they answered all my questions thoroughly. They tore up the tile flooring and put in new flooring. They had one guy for each job who was trained and certified for that particular work. There were a total of 5 guys each guy had their own assignment and they all exceeded expectations. They did an awesome job!

I would not recommend them. They under estimated their cost and kept adding stuff. They had other people come out and do the work. There were inefficient. They used inferior product rather than what we wanted. We had to pay extra for superior products. They considered things that we wanted as upgrades and there were issues. They promised one thing orally and did something different on paper. I would never recommend them unless they change some things. The guy doing the work tried to treat me right, it was the company. The guy doing the work said that he wasn't getting paid properly.

The entire process was very smooth and the people at Shaw made it very easy to make sure that the kitchen came out the way I wanted it. Eric started everything showing up on time and going so far as to give me a quote right there and then for the work. He discussed the various options that the quote included. Shaw was the only company I have had out for a quote that was able to give me a price right there. Once I decided to proceed with them, I met with Brittany to select the materials and design my kitchen. She made it a very pleasant experience and was able to help me work through the color choices so that I got the look I wanted. Next up was meeting with the construction supervisor for my project, Juan to go over the layout and make sure all the measurements were correct so that construction on the custom cabinets could begin. Four weeks later, exactly as Juan had told me it would be, he contacted me to begin work at my house. He had originally told me it would take about two weeks but they ended up only needing one week. During the construction there were a few things that came up that I didn't either like or were different from what I thought was agreed to. Each of these were corrected immediately to my satisfaction without any hassle from the company at all. When it was all completed I was extremely pleased with the outcome and would happily recommend their services to anyone that asks. All of my friends and family that have seen it can't say enough good things about the way it looks now.
