Shaw Company Remodeling was fantastic to work with. The entire team from Nadia who was always pleasant and helpful when we called to Audrey who helped us choose all the right options for our tile, flooring, backsplash, and paint to Sherry who kept us informed and helped with any change orders along the way to Fabian who managed his crew and kept us in the loop on progress. A complete remodel of two bathrooms, main bedroom and conversion of kitchen/dining/family room to a great room in just sixteen weeks. It was a wonderful remodeling experience.

I had posted a negative review, but I did talk with the company and I'm satisfied with their explanation.

I seriously cannot recommend Shaw Company Remodeling enough. After a rotten experience with a local interior design group, a friend recommended Shaw. On his first visit to our home, Patrick solved a problem that WEEKS of interior design consultations couldn't. I was sold. Audrey supported me during the planning phase by helping me select the materials for my master bathroom. When my wallpaper arrived, she even pulled them all again so I could confirm that it all coordinated. Whether via email or in person, Audrey was a delight to work with. The final heroes of the story are Fabian, our construction manager, and his incredible team. YOU GUYS. Fabian visited the project multiple times per week to check on the work and confirm our expectations were being met. His crew showed up when planned and made visible progress each day. They respected my home, helped keep it clean, and were pleasant to have around. I chose a tricky tile pattern and - y'all - they installed it PERFECTLY. The cabinets are stunning. The sneaky shower shelves are a dream. Glass work? Impeccable. The care and detail that their painter took was above-and-beyond. I am a picky individual and let me tell you... I couldn't find a single speck out of place. The quality of work that I received from Shaw was among the best service I've ever experienced. I would recommend them without any hesitation. Thank you to Patrick, Audrey, Fabian, Fernando, Raul, Danny, Zacarias, Alex, Joel, Juan, Cristian, Javier, and the other Shaw team members who supported the project and whose names I may have missed.

We used Shaw Company to completely gut and remodel our master bath and guest bath for 3 months this summer. Shaw was comparable with the 3 other reputable companies we interviewed in price. However, I believe Patrick really listened to what we needed and provided the best plan much better than the others. Brittany and Audrey were wonderful to work with on the design phase assistance and we were assigned Fabian and his crew for the project. Fabian checked with us on site 0900 each morning to brief the plan and get input. His crew were all very pleasant and professional to interact with, and there were many times we were not in our house without concern. They were always on time, worked extremely hard and cleaned up without request. Fernando/Danny are very talented on plumbing and electric, Zach/Alex tile work was truly exceptional, and Joel did a great job on drywall and paint. Once the majority of work was complete Orlando custom built a showpiece large vanity, Adrian placed the countertops and Jorge’s glass team were perfectionists. Payment was done by completion goals which kept us on time and budget. Our 2 bathrooms are amazing. I will use them again next year for our kitchen.

Just completed our second remodel project with Shaw, this time our kitchen. Anthony, Project Manager, did a great job orchestrating the remodel construction. We highly recommend Shaw to anyone needing a remodeling company. Service, care, quality and timeliness were all excellent. We recently hired Shaw Co Remodeling to remodel our kitchen, half bathroom, master bathroom, and the entire downstairs flooring. They did an AMAZING job! It was a HUGE project because it involved complete demolition of our kitchen and bathroom. From the design phase with Patrick, the selection process with Audrey (I had no idea what I was doing and she calmed me and helped us make the best selections for our house), the QA from Kyle, and the project supervision with Fabian...they were all so professional and pleasant to work with. Also, shout out to the various crew members who treated our home with respect and care.....Danny, Fernando, Javier, Zacharias, Alex, Pedro, Miguel, Joel, Adrian, and Stoney!!! Lastly, thanks again to Audrey for always answering my questions and emails timely. Looking forward to the next project down the road!

I was nervous embarking on a whole bathroom remodel. The people at Shaw made me love it. My foreman Joe and the team with Josway really respected my wishes, worked with me on changes and treated my home like it was theirs. I wanted to work with a company that would use real tile, not like those one day redos and the quality is excellent. I'm very glad I choose Shaw Remodeling.

We used Shaw Company to remodel our master bathroom. Everyone we met with was very professional and helpful. Patrick helped us with the initial design phase, Brittany with the material selections, Anthony oversaw the actual construction, and Nancee checked in with us regularly to keep us informed and make sure we were pleased with everything! I really appreciated that they had a design center so I didn't feel overwhelmed with that part of the process. Additionally, Anthony did a great job of communicating with us daily through the process and making sure things were done right. Would recommend Shaw to anyone looking to do home improvements. From beginning to end the process was easy. Jordan, Brittany and Clay were all friendly and professional. Any concerns we had were taken care of quickly by Clay and we are so happy with our beautiful new kitchen!

I had a zippy fast kitchen remodel masterfully handled by my project manager Fernando. Fernando is really a joy to work with, who anticipates problems ahead of time, pays attention to details, and does not stop working until the customer is completely happy. I love my hidden garbage disposal button and would work with him again in a heartbeat.

We feel so grateful to the entire Shaw family and team for creating our beautiful home renovations all within the agreed time frame and budget. Upon initial contract and forward, their teamwork, patience and communication was top notch for our large home renovation including floors, Master bath and kitchen updates. Eric Patrick Brittany Nancee Anthony and Chris All took great care of us as customers and could not have been more professional, communicative and very energetic to work with. They did a fantastic job installing beautiful high quality materials. We appreciate how much effort they put to bring this long term project to completion! Shaw Company recently remodeled my master bathroom. From my initial meeting with Patrick, to working with my contractor, Carlos, and office consultant, Nancee, the project went fairly smoothly. The design consultation meeting with Brittany helped me tremendously in finalizing my design choices. Even though the project took longer than originally stated to me (6 weeks instead of 4), I plan on consulting with them to remodel my kitchen. I do feel they could improve on their time management in completing the job in a more timely fashion. Their quote was higher than others I received, but I decided to go with them as they do not contract out their workers, they are employees of Shaw Company. All of them were friendly and professional and did excellent work. I'm very pleased with the final result.

We were quite pleased with the two bathrooms that Shaw remodeled. The first was a guest bathroom, where the tub surround and tub were replaced, floor tiled and beadboard done on walls and ceiling. They installed new fixtures and a pedistal sink. Painted room as well. In the master bath, they installed a walk-in shower, new vanity with granite counters, fixtures, tile and painted. The construction supervisor, Anthony, did a lot of the work himself. His tile man, Alfonso and plumber, Marcos did wonderful work. It's an old house so there were surprises which resulted in a few change orders, but nothing real extreme. Anthony was ver communicative. He texted me when there might be a delay. Told me if there were any problems. He was there to check on his team every day. The office also called on occasion to see how things were going. We did three bids, Shaw came in very reasonably. The one of the other two was off the wall in terms of expense and both companies wanted us to order all the products that would be installed. We wanted to be able to leave those details up to the construction company. We did order small accessories like towel bars but the team installed them. I would hire Shaw again in a minute. Thanks to a great team.

Shaw Co. Remodeling. We just did a bath/shower remodel with Shaw and are not only pleased with the results but with the degree of communication with Shaw reps and the subcontractors. You could tell they are all very experienced, not anyone’s first rodeo. Recommended.

“On time and on budget” Magic words to any homeowner’s ears. Shaw Remodeling just completed our shower/tub conversion to a walk in shower, and we are very pleased. We signed our contract on a Monday, and Anthony was at our house Thursday to begin the project. He and his team were very professional, diligently working to complete each phase of the project in a timely manner. Brittany was not only helpful in the showroom with selections, but she also was very responsive to additional questions on design that I had throughout the project. All in all, this project was easier than I had anticipated due to Anthony’s continued communication and the quality of work done.

I am a former purchasing director of one of the largest school districts in San Antonio with over twenty years of experience overseeing building contracts ranging from $100 thousand to $100 million. l always wait at least one month after completion of a project before I give a review in case there are any unresolved or any outstanding punch list items. There was one problem (opportunity to excel) when we first started the project. Eric Shaw came out and his response was “it’s not anything lumber, and labor won’t fix”. There was no mention of a change order and no discussion regard any additional dollars. Alain Martinez was the project manager on our kitchen remodel. Every day he was here, he always left asking if there was anything else, he could do. We are more than pleased with the finished project. Shaw company has my phone number and I will be happy to speak to anyone concerning the professionalism, integrity, and honesty displayed by every member of the Shaw Family.

The three month expected remodeling lasted for 7 1/2 months. It was a horrendous experience and we would never use them again or suggest anyone else do so. The workers spent a tremendous amount of time sitting outside in vehicles waiting for direction from the supervisor or just wasting time. It took 4 days for 4 men to paint 2 rooms. A small bedroom and small loft. So much time was spent redoing shoddy and incompetent work. The communication between the workers and supervisor was grossly inadequate. The supervisor regularly miscommunicated important information to the workers which resulted in work having to be torn out and redone. Many times, the work completed had to be redone because the results were completely unacceptable. The owner actually told us that when we put furniture on the flooring they installed, no one would notice the problem areas because the furniture would hide it. The. Owner. Of. The. Company. Too many times to count, we had to call the office to see if anyone was going to show up to work- after not hearing or seeing any workers for several days. Calls to the supervisor were met with lip service to appease us and assure us someone would show up. Our neighbors started asking us if the work was done because they had not seen any workers at our house in a while. This started happening 1 month into the work. The supervisor was always very prompt to come to our house when he wanted another check. We always knew what he would ask for when he actually did show up. Too many things happened to list all of them. I have pictures of the ridiculous mistakes that were made. I told their office it was embarrassing how many of my neighbors asked about the lack of workers at our house and how often they saw them sitting in vehicles when they did show up. I told Shaw remodeling they should be embarrassed also.

Our advice to you should you choose Shaw Company Remodeling: Document everything—dates when workers show up and how long they work, dates when no one shows up or calls, dates when you call office management to check on the status of your project, etc. Take photos of the work in progress and communicate frequently with management via texts and emails regarding issues. Stay on top of everything and everyone, as the responsibility of initiating and completing the project may be yours. Don’t accept inferior workmanship, excuses, or lip service. Be your own quality control inspector. Do not sign any final paperwork/remit final payment until you know that the entire job is finished according to your initial expectations.

Super job by very knowledgeable team. Everything from the selection of fixtures, countertops, and tiles from Brittany at the Shaw Remodeling showroom to the finished product exceeded our expectations. The project manager, Alain, insured that each component of the project was done and done correctly. Both bathrooms, especially the completely remodeled master bath, provide the look and functionality that we desired. The master bath was completely gutted and the original bathtub/separate shower was replaced by an elongated walk-in shower, the original cabinet replaced with a custom made cabinet made by Shaw's woodworking shop, the wall and floor tiles complement each other fully, just as Brittany suggested they would, and the granite counter makes the bathroom look and feel luxurious.

Everything went well; the finished product was exactly how it was envisioned and planned out. Mr. Alain Martinez was the Project Manager and did an excellent job. We are very happy with the results.

The project began on the day promised. The demolition was very quick; the crew protected the floors and placed plastic over bedroom furniture to reduce dust accumulation, cleaned up after themselves, and hauled the old pieces away. The craftsman employed at Shaw are highly skilled and very courteous. Many can perform multiple tasks, which was quite handy. Alfonso installed new copper pipe for the new tub faucet and did a good job helping to install a new window and help frame it. Rick (?) did a masterful job patching the drywall and installing the wainscot tiles, as well a completing most of the floor tiling. Carlo and Oscar finished the floor tiling & grouting, patched and re-textured walls, painted, installed the new tub, vanities, lights, mirrors, faucets and drains, and plumbing lines with such great efficiency. They seamlessly repaired the drywall when they moved the electrical boxes for the wall lights. They do a little bit of everything and will always check with you to ensure the work is to your liking. And the mason who works for the company is PHENOMENAL. He rebuilt the brick and "soldiering" on the outside of our window seamlessly; it matches the house so well that you would never know it was not the original. He also worked quickly and was incredibly friendly. The job was pricey, but given the complexity of some of the renovations, I cannot fault Shaw too much. My only complaints were with punctuality and communication. At first, the start times were very variable and late for me (11 am or 12 pm). If you are flexible and don't mind people working from 11 am - 7 pm, this should not be a problem. However, the inconsistency and late start times meant that time was wasted at first. In the beginning, work seemed to start and stop randomly, which was confusing to me. Once Juan, the foreman, explained the sequence of the repairs and why things were being done in pieces it made sense. Do request to speak to Juan one-on-one at the beginning of the job, so that you will have clear expectations too. (He also quickly found a replacement window when the original one ordered was incorrect. He is good at managing such problem issues.) At other times, work would stop b/c a crew member would not have the proper supplies, having been told by someone else that supplies (e.g., tile cement) were here at the house when they were not. This often meant the worker had to stop and go get the supply from Home Depot, delaying the job by another hour. I believe that items that are routinely used (cement, hot and cold water lines, PVC drain pipes, grout, joint compound, drywall, etc) should be routinely loaded on all trucks (especially the night before a particular job), so that there are less stops and starts. Also, the plumbers should have scrap metal handy so that they don't burn the wood in the walls when soldering the pipes! Communication and punctuality improved markedly, once I started contacting Gerrilynn Mohler, the office manager. She became the go-between for me and Juan, and was able to get the crews to begin working at 9:30 am on the last two days. She is professional, empathetic, and will return your calls or get you the answers you need in a reasonable amount of time. And finally, Paul Colavecchia, the initial consultant who gave me the estimate & contract, and Brittany Trevino, the interior designer were both easy to work and very flexible.

A couple of years ago we decided to remodel our upstairs guest bathroom - take out the tub and replace it with a walk-in shower. The project removed wallpaper and refinished and painted walls, removed the popcorn ceiling and refinished it, installed new counter tops and cabinets, framed a large mirror over the sink and tiled the bathroom floor. They installed all the extra things we had purchased (towel bars etc) so that we wouldn't have to. We were so pleased with the quality of the materials and workmanship that when we decided to remodel the kitchen we called Shaw again. New granite counter-tops for the main counter and the two tiered island, wall paper removal. texture and paint walls, new sinks and faucet, and remove all the upper cabinets and replace them with larger cabinets. One wall required that a 12" high and deep wall extension over the old cabinets had to be removed and the wall repaired so that it was flat. They also put in a tile back splash around two walls. It took two weeks (as they said it would) with minimal disruption to us, and the results were exactly what we were hoping for. Every one of the people working on the project was professional and highly skilled - I mentioned to them many times I was amazed at what they did and how they did it. We have one more project to do - and we'll be calling Shaw! You can get it done cheaper, but you can't get it done better!

Shaw expertly repaired ceiling leak matching paint and putting everything back neatly where it belonged. (they use a camera to show where the items on the wall and shelves needed to be. Bathroom work was done in an outstanding manner. Great window installed in minimum time and window sill expertly reconstructed to fit perfectly where it belonged. Craftsmen also hung a new patio ceiling fan.

Better than I had originally hoped. They took great pains to install barriers to keep dust confined which I did not expect. They were on time and got to work immediately The whole job was completed in about 5 hours which included cleanup. I was impressed by the quality of their work and intend to use them again soon
