Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

It went great and I was very pleased. I liked the deal because it made it affordable for me.

All in all, Roto-Rooter did an excellent job, but the cost was excessive in my opinion. The $463 I paid at the completion of the job did not include the $250 deduction I got from Angie's for $99 (final cost then being $562). Darn - if I hadn't had the Angie's coupon, the total would have been $713.00? The reason I say excessive is because Roto-Rooter and myself found a leak outside my house near my water meter. For that job, I was quoted $400 minus a 20 percent discount making the cost of repairs $320 instead. Well, I declined due to the excessive cost of the interior bathroom job amount. I then got the plumber I have always used in the past to come out - he fixed the leak; found a second leak and fixed that leak also - all for under $250.00. I got the impression from Roto-Rooter that if he had found a second leak outside, it would have been another $320 making it $640.00. Bottom Line: I was satisfied with the technician and his excellent work, but not satisfied with the excessive cost.

He repaired part of the problem and their price was fair. He showed up on time and he cleaned up after himself.

They were fine...I was told I needed a new toilet. He did all the work. He was just pleasant.

David Hohensee arrived on time and got right to work. He removed a sponge that had been flushed down the toilet within minutes. David was coiurteoius and professional and I would welcome him back for any future work.

We had water coming out the downstairs commode with the washing machine draining. I called Roto-Rooter, who said someone would show up between 2 and 5. Call was at 1PM. Joe Galindo showed up about 2:30, immediately surveyed the problem, gave us a cost estimate and informed us that if we became members of Angie's List (which was having a special on member's joining), that Roto-Rooter was having a special $79 coupon that would provide $250. worth of services. I got on the computer ( I had heard that Angie's List was a must have from my son-in-law), joined Angie's List, found the Roto-Rooter coupon, paid with my charge card, and printed the coupon. Never in my life have I had such great service. Believe me, Roto-Rooter will be the plumber I call for any problem in this house. Superb service, quality care, and prompt delivery of service. By the way, I am 76, so believe me I have had my share of plumbers.

He had to come back to tweak the job: probably because of my description of the problem. However, now it is fixed and I am very happy with the service I received. I couldn't believe how quickly they arrived. Good job! This was one Big Deal that I am happy that I noticed.

He explained everything he was going to do and was very nice.

I called in a service call at 6:26 p.m on Friday, January 31st to Roto-Rooter and was told a service technician would be there within 3 hours. I received a call at 8:48 from dispatch letting me know that the technicians were very busy, but they would get someone out there as soon as possible. Well, when the 3 hours was up I called them back at 9:28 and all of the technicians were still too busy out on other service calls! I explained to them that my tenant has small children and did not want a stranger in the house this late at night, so I made an appointment for today; Saturday 1 Feb, from 9-11 and thought this would be the end of it. This morning (Saturday, 1 Feb) I receive a call at 10:01 from Roto-Rooter saying that my house is next on the list and that they will get a technician out there very soon. I wait until 11:24 (24 mins past my appointment time) and call AGAIN just to be told that the technicians are still very busy. Throughout all of these phone calls I was never really given an approximate time. I realize with plumbing jobs it is hard to pinpoint an exact time, but finally I had to ask how long very soon was and was told ANOTHER 1-2 hours!! This upset me because my tenant had been without water going on over 12 hours. She had to turn the water off due to the fact that the tub faucet was continuously running; which is something I let Roto-Rooter know the when I initially made the service call the day before. I did however give this company a "B" for professionalism due to the fact that every time I spoke with dispatch they were professional. But I recommend this company hire more technicians!! Having a customer wait countless hours and then to miss an appointment time is very unsatisfactory. I should have been told last night that this company is undermanned and to suggest me looking into another company instead of having me wait, and wait, and wait. I'm very disappointed and will never use Roto-Rooter again. As stated above Roto-Rooter finally did call me at 12:58 saying they were on their way to my house, but by that time another company that I called at 11:41 that morning was already in-route to my house.

I used the value coupon which you pay $79 for $250 worth of services. My hunch is the Company marks up their services anyway to cover anything they would of lost. The technician came on time, was professional, and did a good job. He unplugged the main line (which someone had done already that morning) and confirmed that there was a break in the main line (most likely from a tree root). His price quote from their office was $3,000 to fix it. I couldn't believe it. I received another price quote for the same thing from Texas Plumbing Diagnostics for $1,600 which was also A rated. So I am going to use them. I have no doubt they do a decent job but man do they upcharge!

As well as could be expected. We have a old home with no water softener and the lime build up is extensive. The technician explained in detail and showed us the problem. I have used this provider in the past and will continue as needed in the future. I trust them to give me a fair price and good service.

I contacted Roto Rooter on 24 January 2014 due to a cracked backflow pipe from the sprinkler system. I explained to the individual that I had already ordered the part and was waiting for it to arrive and he verified that the company would be able to service the pipe with no issues, to call them back when the part arrived. We also discussed the coupon from Angie's list and once again I was told that it would be honor. The part arrived on 26 Jan 2014 and I called back for an appointment and once again to confirm that the coupon would be honor. I explained to Rudy the problem that needed to be fixed and she was working on my appointment date and time. The phone got disconnected during our conversation so I called back and talked to Tina. After I explained my situation and that I needed to schedule an appointment, Tina informed me that Roto Rooters would not be able to perform the job regardless of what I had been informed in the previous calls and to contact Angie's list to request a refund for the coupon purchase.

At first there was an issue with the Big Deal and the company being able to honor it. The company did call me back and told me they would honor the Big Deal and apologized for the confusion on their end. I found this to be good customer service and appreciated the apology that was given. I do plan on using the company now and taking advantage of the Big Deal.

Faucet was completely replaced in my bedroom upstairs bathroom. It works great. No leaks and girlfriend is happy so I'm happy.

On Friday, 13 December 2013 we woke to wet floors in our downstairs guest bathroom. After cleaning it up and 2 more major overflows we frantically tried to locate a trades that could respond to our needs immediately. We turned to Angie's list and immediately found Rotor-Rooter. Once we placed our call and explained our situation the receptionist said not to worry they would have someone out to us within an hour. Good to their word - Jose showed up. He was very professional and empathetic to our situation. He immediately began work to analyze the root cause. Turned out to be wipes caught between a y pipe that over time acted as a small barrier. As time went on debris gathered and started to build a dam. It just so happened on Friday the 13th is when the pipe went to full barrier mode and nothing was getting through. Jose removed all the debris throughout the main drains under the house. He provided information and a commercial grade solution that will make the pipes slicker as to no allow debris to catch on them. Jose also provided a 6 month warranty on the work and 1 free call back during the 6 months if the problem should arise again. Jose and Rotor-Rooter are shining examples of excellent customer service, professionalism and fair service costs.

Provider came out almost immediately on a Sunday, no less, and was able to locate the leak which was underground fairly quickly, and was able to fix the pipes fairly quickly. Very professional job especially in such a last minute rush on a Sunday. We had hundreds of gallons of water going underground somewhere, we knew not where, and he found it and fixed it quickly and professionally. Great job!

I was in the shower Saturday morning and the drain started backing up. I called Roto-Rooter at about 1:00 pm and the tech, David, arrived within 45 minutes. He told me the cost up front and, having company this weekend, I agreed. David was very courteous and got right to work. He ran the camera in the line to determine the issue. There has been a shift in the clay pipes that caused stuff to get caught and back up the line. David cleaned the line and we should be good to go. He was gone by 3:30. They aren't the cheapest but they are professional and fast.

This is my second experience with Roto-Rooter and with this Technician (Randall 1351). He was quick, informative, and affordable. He's enthusiastic about what he does, and he makes sure that the cost is appropriate for services rendered. If I have plumbing needs in the future, I'm calling Roto-Rooter and Randall again.

It was absolutely fantastic! I would like to give kudos to Jose Quierino, he was very efficient and very professional. And I would highly recommend Roto-rooter if someone needs plumbing or drain service.

Mr. Benjamin Gonzales (#2800) was not only prompt, but waited on me though I was late. He took time to assess the problem and explain what might be the cause. He was courteous and professional. I would definitely consider this company again; thank you Roto-Rooter!

Joel was professional and knowledgable about the service he provided. He was very courteous and explained what the problem was and how he would have to go about fixing it. He also let me know what would need to be fixed in the future. I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter and am very grateful to them for coming out the same day I called.

Early Wednesday - Ran (Randal) showed up on time, reviewed what he was going to do with the job, and as home owner had me sign off on necessary docs. Within 30 mins he was able to find the leak, I left knowing that the job was going to be done within a reasonable time and amount! Checked w/my tenant later, and the work was done and water was restored. Ran did a great job and was very professional and courteous. He really fixed it so that we had a better way of shutting down the water in the future should there be another issue like this, and he repaired everything within a reasonable time. We are all VERY happy with the turn out.

I waited until October 2013 to have the line replaced. Roto Rooter came out and made one of the bids ($6400). That seemed awfully high to me for a 60' line with no obstructions. I contacted several other plumbers and finally settled on a local company that charged me only $2600 to dig up and replace the line. Here is where it gets terrible. The existing sewer line was NOT a schedule 30 line that was "collapsing." It was, in fact, a concrete line that did have roots in it; but the pipe was in good shape. Roto Rooter KNEW the line was concrete when they tied the new clean-out into it. Why would they lie to me about that? Please shop around. Roto Rooter is not reputable. The business card reads, "Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service, Roto Rooter Services Company, 3603 Metro Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78247.

I called around 11:30 on Nov. 13, the customer service rep said a plumber would be out before 1:30; Benjamin Gonzales arrived around 12:45. After explaining what I thought was the problem, Benjamin confirmed the pipe extending from the foundation had a crack in it. He explained to me what he was going to do to, he gave me an estimated price that I agreed to and began the repair which took about 2 1/2 hours to complete. The crack in the pipe was right at the edge of the foundation so he only had to make a small hole in the foundation to get to the cracked pipe. After being without water for two days and dealing with another so called "plumber" who took me for $$$ and didn't fixed the problem. I wish I would have checked Angie's list first!!! I was very happy with the overall service I received will use Roto-Rooter again.

Incredibly dependable, friendly, reliable, and quick. Our favorite technician is "Joe". He has been to our house a couple of times over the few years that we've been living here. He even remembered our specific problems from several months ago. He provided us with the maximum discount possible using our coupons. Our main sewer line was backed up. Joe ran the camera down the line and found roots growing through the pipe. He gladly showed and walked me through the process of what would be required to fix the problem. He gladly wrote me up and estimate, gave me his card, and said that whenever we were ready to proceed to give him a call. We called back about a week later and they were able to schedule Joe to come back out the following morning (only about 12hrs from the time we called). We did not expect them to come out and work through the night, and we certainly didn't expect them to come back out that next day. We were just hoping that they'd be able to come back out within a week. We found this company using Angies list, but wanted to post reviews at every possible site to help everyone out there when they're in need. I'd say if you need any plumbing work done, call these guys, THEY'RE GREAT!!!
