Description of Work: The original price quoted for the package deal was nearly 2K less than the eventual total price. To be fair, "the small print" did stipulate there could be additional charges. I assumed those charges might include extra repairs, materials and so forth. Turns out there seems to be a method of measuring roof total area I was not acquainted with and it pushed up the total cost to over 6K when complete. Again, in fairness to them, I did agree to the cost up front but certainly did not feel good about it. |Here's the thing, when you have a damaged roof, leaking water into your house, you're not in a very strong position to bargain. As far as it goes, the contractor stated he gave me the very best price he could afford, so perhaps it boiled down to what I perceive as good customer and not so good customer service. Case in point, the day they were to show up to do the work it was raining. I had taken off work to meet them, and after several hours I tried contacting the lead estimator. He seemed dumbfounded that I expected to be contacted since it was raining, and that - really - I should have just known that. Next, when I elevated my concern to the owner (really nice to me when they were trying to make the sale, but not so much later on) we had a somewhat heated discussion because he felt the need to defend not contacting me when they changed their plans. Their package deal states they meticulously clean up after themselves. We'll, I'm still picking up small scraps and nails all over the yard around the house. This little detail is particularly annoying as when they were done, they did not give me an opportunity to evaluate their work. Again, and to be fair, maybe it's just me but if you pay a company 6K for a job, shouldn't you get to approve what you're paying for before they leave the premises? Finally--- I was not going to comment on the contractor at all. I'm fully aware I also bear responsibility for how the relationship evolved. It is only after I don't know how many incessant reminders from Angie's list to comment, and "clean up my account" that I have done so.

Description of Work: I called the company the set up an appt. for my gutter cleaning and i was told they do not provide this service anymore only gutter replacements. I was told to get a refund from Angieslist.

Description of Work: We made an appointment for them to come out to our house to give us an estimate on replacing our roof. We had a property manager there to meet them but they never showed up. When the property manager called them they said that they couldn't come because it was raining (which it wasn't) and when my husband called the office they told him they decided that they didn't want to work on a flat roof on an older home. Conflicting stories, neither one making much sense. The bottom line is that if they didn't want to give us an estimate they shouldn't have made the appointment. If they decided to cancel after making the appointment, they should have had the courtesy to at least call to tell us that they weren't coming. This was my first experience using Angie's List and I can't say that I'm impressed. I'll think twice about using this service in the future.

Description of Work: After we had a high wind storm we noticed our roof was very damaged and shingles were missing everywhere!!! My mother lives in the house and is in her 90's. We called Prime Seamless Gutters & Roofing since we have used them before to install our gutters, wich they did a great job by the way. After we called them they sent out a rep quickly and recommended to us that we file an insurance claim since the wind damage was so bad. Before he left he even put a tarp on our roof to keep rain out in the mean time until we heard back from the insurance company. They also told us they could handle our insurance claim from start to finish at no cost to us wich is great since my elderly mother would not be able to do so and I work full time and could not either. After a week or so the adjuster from our insurance company came out and met with Ryan, who came out again to meet with the adjuster, He got our insurance claim approved and he was even able to give us a discount on our deductible!! We gave a deposit for materials and work started very quickly. After the roof was complete they did a great job cleaning up and they did all the leg work to get our second check from the insurance company and we only had a small amount out of pocket from our deductible, Not quite half! They really came through for my mom. I was going to write a review for the gutter job they did as well, Andrew was very professional and he did a great job with our gutters, however I have been so limited on time I haven't done so yet, They were a "seamless" company to work with. I do want to note we did get another estimate for our roof that was lower, however they did not have the endorsements and insurance, and warrantys Prime had. You really do get what you pay for, I know there not the cheapest you will ever find, however I do believe there the best! I have the piece of mind to know work was done right the first time and if there is anything not right I will be able to call on them to stand behind there warranty. Andrew is also an Navy Vet and we like to do business with our military. Thanks for the great job!
