National Property Inspections

The inspector arrived on time and explained in detail some of the findings during the inspection. Upon completion, he had explained to us our options for fixing certain issues that were present and did not leave us feeling helpless as to what to do next.

I actually used their services twice. On my first appointment the scheduled inspector, Rodney, became ill. Another inspector, David, was there to conduct the inspection for him. After his inspection David thoroughly explained his findings to me and my wife. I believe he helped us avoid making a terribly expensive mistake. We opted out of the purchase. We were very comfortable with David's level of knowledge and thoroughness so we hired him again for the next home we were considering. Again conducting a thorough inspection and providing complete report of the findings in an extremely timely manner. I feel we found the right home and he helped us get there. I highly recommend them.

Mr. Twyford and his assistant did a thorough home inspection, he was candid with me in regards to the issues found with the house. He checked everythihng from the gutters to the sprinklet r system to water spiggets and foundation. He mad a thorough report of all items and possible code issues. He let me know that there were no major items, but if left alone small items could become problems. I was satisfied with the inspection. Mr. Twyford even set up the pest inspection which was thorough as well. I have no complaints and am very appreciative of the information provided. Thanks again NPI.

Great. It's a new home and I didn't anticipate too many problems, and only a few were found. However, those found were important. Several roof nails were not set properly and a few roof shingles were loose. Having the inspection done definitely helped avoid problems a few years down the road. NPI San Antonio and specifically Rodney Twyford were great.

They did a good job. They were punctual and gave a complete report. I think they missed a few small things we caught and they didn't, as there were obviously a lot of things they didn't even think about, but they did a good job so I have no complaints. Their demeanor was excellent and they were very helpful.

He finished his inspection in just 2 hours and explained only 3 minor problems. Gave me some pointers about handling rental property, pros and cons.

We were very happy with our home inspection. We were having our home inspected for our one year new home warranty which was coming up very soon. Luckily National Property Inspections was able to schedule us within just a few days after I called. Our home inspector, David, arrived right on time and was very professional and courteous. He was professionally dressed and could be easily identified by his NPI shirt. His inspection was thorough yet efficient. He took the time to answer all my questions. We received our report by that same evening via email. The report was easy to understand and included pictures of all the located trouble spots. I knew what to expect though, as David had walked me through all the issues he located and told me exactly what to expect in the report. The report made it easy to let our warranty representative know just exactly what will need to be addressed, saving me the hassle and showing that a professional had seen the issues, not just the homeowner. I felt the price was right for the services provided. We would absolutely recommend NPI to anyone looking for a home inspection.

My home is 20 years old and I've been in it 14 years. I know it needs repair but didn't know where to start or what was top priority. Called Rodney at NPI due to the high ratings on Angie's List and I was NOT disappointed. He was thorough, professional, checking the entire home/property and went through every detail with me after the inspection, including pictures. He emailed the entire report to me within 24 hours. Overall, we loved them. They helped us get a better feeling on our new house purchase. Being home buyers is scary and we do not know everything to look for. They helped us ensure we were getting exactly what we were paying for. We will use them again later if we need to.

I needed to coordinate this inspection with an engineer's inspection, along with my Realtor's schedule, all within the 10-day option period -- not to mention that I live overseas; however National Property Inspections' schedulers were very professional, knowledgable, and flexible. Additionally, when I questioned them about the $500 fee, they explained that the additional costs were due to the age of the home (over 50+ years old), which requires more time to look for age-specific deficiencies, as well as the inspection of the pool. I was very pleased with their thorough explanation and customer service, and they made me feel at ease. The inspector, David Cronauer, arrived on time, and conducted a very thorough and informative inspection. His detailed report included 45 pages of clear, and detailed information about the properties deficiencies, as well as photographs and graphic examples to further explain and support his findings. I had no idea of the magnitude of systems that need to be inspected, and I learned a lot from David's inspection. I received the report via email later the next day, and promptly called David to get further explanation of the items listed. He patiently explained everything I asked about in layperson's terms, and detailed why he included it, as well as its significance to me as a buyer. I asked him for a candid opinion of what deficiencies would need to be done immediately, and what could wait, then I looked up approximate costs for these repairs and consequently decided that this home was not for me. Without getting into too many details, I can honestly say that from the Realtor photos of this property alone, it is difficult to imagine that this home needs so many behind-the-scencs repairs and updates. Costly repairs were needed on this home to not only bring it up to code, but to make it sellable in the future. David exhibited no bias, only facts, which only contributed to further building a relationship based on trust. We are very, very pleased with his work, and we feel that David and National Property Inspectors helped save us from a future of heartache and headache with a virtual "money pit" of a home. We are planning to use them on our next inspection, and are going to request David specifically. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a very thorough, detailed, and objective inspection on their home or a property they are considering buying.

Rodney arrived very promptly and spent several hours in and out, up and down in this house. He makes what could be a very stressful rite-of-passage for a home buyer into an educational seminar on how everything in this home functions--or doesn't--and why . He explains in great detail what the current codes are and what will be required to bring the home up to code. He is very concerned about the safety of the home and its new occupants, and offers sage advice about each system of the home. Best of all, he is patient and re-assuring with his clients and extremely honest about the priority levels of each repair and their approximate cost. Rodney also has a great sense of humor and some really neat stories of other homes he's inspected. The entire experience was informative, un-stressful, professional and re-assuring. This is the second home Rodney has inspected for us, and I'd highly recommend him to anyone out there seeking a quality home inspection.

We are first time home buyers; so we decided to research the top home inspection companies on Angie's List. After reading several positive reviews for NPI I requested an appointment with Mr. Rodney Twyford. I don't think we could've made a better choice! The inspection took a little over two hours to complete. Rodney and David not only reviewed their findings in great detail, they also gave suggestions on how the repairs should look upon completion. By the end of the day we received a detailed inspection report and summary containing pictures and associated comments addressing each repair or area of concern. We were able to forward our inspection summary to our builder to have every concern addressed prior to our final walk through appointment. We truly appreciate,value and recommend the service that we received from NPI.

The inspection took more than two hours and was extremely thorough. I really feel confident than all major issues and most minor issues were flushed out through this inspection. The tools that he used help tell that there was missing insulation in the walls and ceiling. Had we not used this company, we wouldn't have known that. I am very happy with the result and feel that the value was well above the cost. We also had Rodney do a follow up inspection after the builder finished repairs.

Our experience with Mr. Twyford was great. We looked up house inspectors on Angie's List and National Property Inspectors (NPI) was at the top of the list. We called Mr. Twyford the weekend before Christmas to request his services. Because of the time of the year, we kept playing phone tag and had requested him as soon as possible because the house was still in the frame stage. The next stage was installing insulation and drywall which would have covered many structural discrepancies. Mr. Twyford kept us informed by email, texting and phone messages. He put us on his schedule and he arranged with the sales agent for the time from the builder to inspect the house. We didn't know Mr. Twyford?s schedule but we were extremely happy that he completed the inspection early in the morning the second day after Christmas. We had been to the house several times and had discovered obvious discrepancies and features with every visit. Because of the complexity of building a house, it is almost impossible to identify every discrepancy in just one visit. There were one or two items we saw that we felt should have been included in the report but they were items that we did not see ourselves until our third visit to the house. Even with the city inspections and our visits to the house, we felt that an additional inspection by an experienced inspector would give us the peace of mind that we had conducted our due diligence. Mr. Twyford's easy to read report with photos of discrepancies he discovered, included some that were difficult to determine even though there was no apparent indication that something was wrong. Mr. Twyford included many areas in his report and he was very attentive to structural discrepancies. Mr. Twyford and NPI use an online inspection request form and after the inspection, he emailed his report and invoice. This was very convenient to be able conduct business with him over the Internet like this. We are very happy with Mr. Twyford?s communications with us. He was very timely, with his response to our request, and, the work he did for us. We are very happy with his work and we will enthusiastically recommend him to others who need an excellent house inspector. Thank you.

New house being inspected. Called ahead of time to let me know he was going to be late because he was stuck on the phone. Worked out due to builder sales reps were late and did not have a way into the house. Very thorough inspection top to bottom and answered all my questions. Had a report typed up and returned to me within an hour or two of completing the job. Very friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Rodney performed the initial inspection and two reinspections of the home we were purchasing long distance. His report of the problems was very detailed and included photos and additional explanations of the technical issues in terms we could understand. He reinspected the home after the repairs were made and identified the repairs that had been improperly done or not done at all, explaining how the job was done and how it should have been done. When the seller's agent questioned him about his evaluation of the repairs, which were made by a "professional" company, he stood his ground and advocated for us by asserting that the company should be held criminally liable for its failures and come back and do it right. My husband and I are so very grateful that he was there for us, acting on our behalves. The company that performed the repairs came back the following day, under the supervision of its owner, to complete all of the repairs correctly. Rodney came back and reinspected a third time and then gave us the green light to close on the house. He was thorough and available to us during a highly stressful and time critical situation. Rodney, his expertise, professionalism, and assertiveness saved us countless headaches, aggravation, and money down the road had he not served as our inspector and advocate. We are very grateful!

Good experience. Rodney was knowledgeable, professional and prompt with report. Original appointment was scheduled on day 6 of 10-day active option period however because of good communication was able to schedule earlier. He arrived earlier than appointment and was able to provide feedback and walk-through when I arrived at scheduled time. Very important was that he lingered long enough for me and wife to walk through home and ask more questions, which he answered. Also provided direction and referral for repairs. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Rodney did an excellent job. He arrived early and inspected all aspects of the house/property. He answered all my questions during the inspection and at the end took time to show me all the photographs he took and to explain what the issues were. He then followed up with a detailed written report within hours of finishing the inspection.

We thoroughly researched local inspectors and Mr. Twyford of National Property Inspectors has the highest and most continous ratings of all we viewed. Thus we selected Mr. Twyford to do our inspection. Bottom line up front... he exceeded our expectations and has most probably saved me thousands of dollars in repairs and fines, and has eliminated a number of home safety issues. Mr. Twyford was on time, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, efficient and courteous. He knew his Texas codes and found several issues with the gas lines, electrical connections, ventalation, and sealing for doors and windows that had previously been undetected in two earlier walkthrus. Mr. Twyford spent 5 hours going thru every inch of the two story 3354 ft home, inside and out, to include inspecting the roof and attic, and his inspection detailed a number of items that needed repair, finishing or reconstruction. This is a major investment for us and Mr. Twyford's inspection ensures we get the most and best for our money. As noted earlier, he exceeded our expectations, and even provided a thorough and detailed report the very same day of the inspection to both myself and the builder. I would recommend Mr. Twyford and National Property Inspectors to anyone who is buying or selling a home, as his services will ensure you know all you need to know about your home, its issues, and the fixes needed to ensure the home is up to code... this will ensure the sale is completed in a most timely manner and without delay. Mr. Twyford recieves my most highest recommendation.

I read reviews before I purchase just about anything, so if you're like me, I hope this one helps you make what will be one of the best decisions for your home. I am in the process of purchasing a foreclosed property - this means no seller disclosure is provided. Based on Rodney's thorough inspection, I am reconsidering the purchase. Rodney was responsive, punctual, and his report was incredible. He made detailed notes and took photograhs to validate every point. I could not be happier with the service and the cost. I will definitely be calling NPI when/if I need another home inspection.

I chose them versus the other competition because of Angie’s List. They got a lot of recommendations. I would use this company again in the future if I needed to.
