My Repairman

Offered me an open box switch at a discount, which I was grateful for. Unfortunately it turned out to be the wrong switch. But the service technician went to the trouble to go get the right switch that afternoon, returned, and replaced it. Overall, very satisfied.

Our frig went out on Tuesday night and I have a back up in the garage so I was not in a hurry to fix it but our home is for sell and I was debating on buying a used frig or having someone come out to fix it. We decided to have someone come out. We checked Angies List and decided on My Repair Man. I called and the receptionist was very friendly and she said someone could be there the next day between 11:30-2:30. I also asked if I could call and cancel at the last minute in case someone was going to come and see our home (I did not want to have someone see a repair man in the house when we are trying to sell it). She said it was not a problem. On Friday about 11:20am the repairman call and said he was on the way. Once he got here he tested the frig and determined the problem (broken relay). He gave me the price and let me know that I could print a coupon off the website for $10 off !! He was there about 25 minutes. Very friendly and professional. The service fee is not charged to you if you agree to have them repair your appliance, which is great !!! We will use them again and I told my folks and they will use them too instead of Sears who charges an arm and a leg.

Alexander, George's son, was prompt and courteous. Did a great job. Have used before and will use again.

My washer stopped working (wouldn't drain the water) -- an emergency for a mom of 5! The technician was out on time, very professional, and quickly figured out the problem (a clogged pump) and fixed it for a fair price.

Used this service once before (same problem...squeaky dryer). I was VERY pleased with him. He gave it a shot of lubricant and only a VERY minimal charge since they are located just a block or so away. Second time around was not the same. Not bad, but certainly not anywhere near the same. The young man said he couldn't find anything wrong but would replace the idler and drive wheels if I wanted him to, but kept saying " can't fix it if its not broken". He suggested we put a smaller load in (which didn't help), then charged $45. Bottom line is I missed some work, paid $45, and still have a squeaky dryer!!. I'd probably try using them again just because the service was GREAT the first time I used them.

They seemed very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I felt that they did good work. I would recommend them.

Dryer suddenly started making a thumping sound. Called My Repairman the Tuesday before Thanksgiving but they couldn't schedule anyone till the following Monday. My Repairman showed up on time, went right to work, opened up the dryer, found the broken belt, went to his truck to see if he had a replacement. He did. After he replaced the belt, he lubricated the dryer, vacuumed the collection of lint. And voila! It was all fixed. Just wish the price had been a little lower.

He was professional, quickly repaired the machine and had it up and running in no time. He was courteous and offered to come back if it malfunctioned again.

Did a great job at a reasonable price. No complaints or criticism.

I thought that the price charged by the guy I dealt with to get the work done was reasonable. I had picked up someone from the phone book to come first to stop the noise in my washing machine. A technician then came out and told me that the part that they use on the tub bottom gets worn out with age. So he told me that it would be cheaper for me to buy a new one. He then did some adjustments and said that it would probably start again. So I called My Repairman and he was a very nice gentleman. He told me what the problem was and what it would cost to fix it. He fixed it and it has been fine since then. He purchased the equipment. He had to clean everything since the previous technician had greased the inside of the washing machine before he even put the new part in, but it certainly wasn?t the cost of a new one. I was thinking of calling him to check and see if he fixes refrigerators.

Alex (owner's son) responded to our call for dishwasher repair. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and gave us the options and cost of each option. After we discussed the age, etc., of the machine. Alex recommended that we not spend any money on it, and invest our money in a new machine. Just like his dad, George, Alex is professional and articulate, and he cares!

George and his son were very courteous, patient, and accommodating on providing me all the options regarding my repairs vs. buying a new refrigerator. I had all the informaito to make my decision and did not feel pressured by them to choose one or the other. After discussions with my husband, we decided to repair. George looked fo & found a dispernser unit (no longer made by the manufacturer). All the work was done & to my surprise it was less than estimated. Both men cleaned up after the repairs were very professional the entire time.

It took about ten days for the belt to arrive but as soon as it came in they immediately sent a man to my home to install it. I was very happy with these people and would use them again.

The service technician attempted to duplicate the squeaking noise on my washing machine by filling the machine & putting it in spin cycle. We even tried to duplicate the problem by adding towels to the machine without success. The service tech was unable to duplicate the problem & no repairs were performed.

George Estrada is highly proficient & knowledgeable of large appliances. He is the owner of the company. He arrived promptly & quickly determine the problem to be a pulley motor & belt on my Maytag washing machine. This service call was performed at no charge because of a previous service call on 4-6-10. George didn't recommend replacement of these parts at this time due to the age of the machine & his past experience with failure of the replacement parts in 4-6 months because of their design. I followed his recommendation & I am still using the machine. If the problem continues or worsens, I will then reconsider my options. I highly recommend this company.

My refrigerator had a burning smell and the compressor would not run. Called My Repairman the next morning and they scheduled a service call for the same day. The repairman called when he was on his way. He was very punctual and professional. Had the part with him and was able to fix the refrigerator quickly. I was very pleased and will use them again.

The repairman (forgot name) arrived on time and proceeded to wash his hands in the kitchen sink prior to starting to work. He troubleshot the system which took much longer than he anticipated. Finally, it was determined that an "IM Module" had to be replaced and he installed several units until he found one that was good. He said he had a relative working with him in the past and he did not discard the defective ones. The charge for the module was $92 plus $89 for labor for a total of $181 for which $10 was subtracted, for a total of $171. Then another electronic board was installed at a cost of $60, then another $10 was added back to make the grand total $251. He told me that he gave me a break on the second part because it had been taken from a new refrigerator which had been damaged. The bill shows nothing regarding the $55 service fee which may have just been waived but I have no way of knowing this. I was also supposed to get a small military discount which I do not see on the bill. The whole thing was confusing and seemed not to be above board due to the constant switching of parts "giving me a break" on the $60 part that came from another refrigerator.

Very friendly scheduler, worked with me for the best time slot. Technician called 30 min prior to arrival, arrived during appointment window. Quickly diagnosed my problem, had all parts needed to make repairs, clean up and put everything back in place. Overall good experience and will use again in the future.

Wonderful! Easy to reach, came at appointed hour (between 1-5 p.m.), knew what they were doing, saved me from buying a new fridge, which I'd been seriously considering. My freezer door hadn't shut right for years, ice built up inside, and then water leaked outside. George diagnosed a clogged drain, unclogged it, and readjusted the angle on my freezer door so it shuts properly now. A bargain.

Excellent service from start to finish. Dishwasher had been broken for a month. Another appliance repair service (one I had used for all my appliances for 10 years) had come out originally to fix the dishwasher. Over $500 was given to this company for parts and after 3 weeks they had not returned (nor were returning our phone calls) to fix the dishwasher. I had heard of Angie's List and so decided to sign up to help us find a reliable and honest appliance repair company. My Repairman lived up to our hope of finding a company that we could trust. Technicians came in and quickly identified the problems with the dishwasher and the cost was very fair.

Everything went really well. My washer had quit working in mid cycle. I had to hand rinse everything and bail water out of the machine. The lady I spoke with initially was very nice and knowledgeable. The appointment was scheduled several days out because of my schedule. Alex called to tell me he was on his way (although it was much less than the 30 mins. I was told when I scheduled). He arrived as expected and went right to work. He diagnosed the problem almost immediately. He had the part in his truck and replaced it . He then tested the machine twice to make sure it worked properly. He explained the warranty to me and told me to call them if I had further problems.

Tech arrived as scheduled--actually phoned for permission to show up and work early. Nice young man. He explained everything to me, and told me, over my disbelief, that there was a VERY simple fix. I did not believe him, and I thoroughly expected to be having to follow up with continuing problems. I ran a load of dirty dishes and HE WAS RIGHT! It now works fine. Only cost me $75 for the work, including discount for AL coupon. This is a good company!

We called Friday, when our washing machine overflowed. They promised to come Saturday morning. The repairman arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, and gave us our options. We decided to go ahead with replacement of a sensor and valve. He had the part, and installed it. The repairman was clean, competent and professional.

They called stating they were 10 minutes away (not the hour promised), they took my machine apart and dug out lots of money from the pump (who knew?). They warned me that the pump may not last, but said if it breaks in 30 days, they would credit me with the cost of this visit (very nice). Well, the pump did break, but it was later than 30 days. So a friend of mine came over to replace it for me and found that they had only replaced one screw in the pump, instead of the 4 required. I can only assume this was done on purpose to guarantee the pump would break again.
