Description of Work: They replaced a contact switch. I had a problem it not shutting off which was caused by the contact sticking closed however it was still heating and cooling. I asked to have the freon checked but was told he could not check it because it wasn't on the service order. He spent a couple of hours showing me high priced units to replace mine and expensive option to repair it. I saw he took out his gauges but he didn't write anything about checking it on his report. 24 hours later my outside unit was covered in 2 inches of ice and ruined. It had never done that before. I called another company, the serviceman said he had never seen a unit so iced up in his entire career. I was forced to buy a new unit but I certainly didn't but it from JW.

Description of Work: Jon Wayne did not deliver service as promised on the phone. Two units were serviced and we were charged more for the service plan than promised. Tech spent several hours trying to clean a drain that could have been cleaned in minutes. We were charged their usual hourly rate due to tech's inability to see the obvious on the clogged drain.

Description of Work: Which letter indicates best? The person did prompt excellent work. I was presented with about 5 options for a water heater and I chose the 2ond from the least expensive. BUT when all the whistles and bells which came with this package was installed the price was way to high! I had a heater installed a couple of months before at about 1/3 the price. Description of Work: Replaced two malfunctioning gate valves with ball valves. Did a good job but gave me a hard pitch to replace my whole water softener system with a very expensive and unnecessary system. My water softener needed replacing but I got a much better deal with someone else.

Description of Work: We had an electrical problem and the Technician was professional and worked with my husband in finding the solution. Outstanding Technician!

Description of Work: Free evaluation of our A/C system and recommended replacing it entirely, including some of the duct work which we could not afford. The lead tech found refrigerant leaks in the attic evaporator coils and by doing some checking, he discovered at least one of the two coils was still under labor/material warranty. We would not have known this otherwise. I verified this with system manufacturer and discovered that both coils were still under warranty and I could have them replaced at no cost. The tech didn't have to tell me about this, but he did and I appreciated his honesty. They lost our business but helped us save a lot of money by having only the coils replaced (by original installer, not Jon Wayne). Gives us time to save for eventual system replacement.

Description of Work: The scheduled appointment was for a new ac quote. My husband was stuck at work and couldn't make it (on time; he ended coming home 10 minutes after the tech left). The tech came in and looked around. He asked me about the other quotes. He said the other companies didn't go to the special training that Jon Wayne requires which meant their quality of work wasn't up to par (he said the people hired could be any person and not a trained to install ac units). He told me that the other techs probably didn't conduct a thorough test of the house to check everything. The test he would conduct would make sure I bought the right unit (size). When I told him my husband wasn't coming he told me that he would have to reschedule because the explanation that he would give me about the house would be lost in translation because I might omit something or not address an issue my husband would have. So instead of running his test and coming back later he said I would have to call to reschedule. #1 He insulted my intelligence by stating my husband had to be present because he may have questions that I couldn't answer (does he think we're back in the 1950s?)#2 if that were really the case then why couldn't we call Jon Wayne to ask a question? #3 it was obvious he didn't want to be there because he could have ran the test and come back the next day to discuss all our options #4 I didn't like the fact that he talked about the other companies insinuating they were not qualified because they didn't have the special training.

Description of Work: They analyzed what was wrong with my water heater. The water heater is still under warranty and they do not work on that brand, so the service man gave me the names of those companies who do service that brand.

Description of Work: We contracted with Jon Wayne to replace the upstairs and downstarirs A/C units to replace our existing units (they lasted 18 years). The sales rep, Chris Buck, was extremely knowledgeable. The install team of Kevin & Max, led by Cobey and Luke showed up promptly at 9:30 AM, worked thru lunch (we made them take a break about 7 PM to have Pizza with us) and stayed until almost midnight as there was a problem with one of the units. They showd up the next day with not much rest and replaaced one of the defective units completingthe job that afternoon. The follow up by their Quality Control Manager, Shaon, was professional and extremely thorough. Their pricing was slightly higher but on a project this size, it was worth the additional cost to receive first class treatment - well done guys!

Description of Work: Provided expert assessment of the condition of existing HVAC system/ Measured & estimated three options for getting air conditioning operational/ Presented findings & explained pros & cons of each repair or replace option/ After I selected complete system replacement, a team was dispatched with the equipment and tools to perform the replacement/ Starting from arrival at 12:30 PM, the 3-man team completed a removal and replacement of the entire HVAC system, cleaned all job residue, and departed my home by 9:45 PM.

Description of Work: He performed the semi-annual maintenance. He added a surge protector and a mold protector for an added cost of about $786.00. Everything went fine.

Description of Work: I paid the $29 to get a diagnosis of my hot water heater. The gentleman was more concerned with selling me a new one at an unbelievable high price than to make any attempts to fix my problem. Ended up just replacing the heating element ourselves for under $20 and even bought special tool to help remove it, etc. (for future) for under $15, instead of the $3000 for a new heater. Been working perfect for over a month now.
