Plumber Jerry did a great job. He arrived early, looked professional, knew what he was doing, explained everything, and repaired the commode in a competent manner. He was friendly and looked at all my other commodes to insure they were operating efficently. He made an adjustment on the flowmaster on the commode her repaired. He answered all my questions and inspired confidence in his company. His fee was reasonable. The best experience I have had with a Plumber in the Universal City/Schertz TX area.

I called around 8:05 am (they open at 8:00) and told them the problem (I already knew where the leak was). They said someone would be here within the hour. Sure enough, the plumber arrived shortly before 9:00. I told him where the leak was, and he went up to take a look. He had it fixed in less than half an hour. He was friendly and professional. I had a similar leak in a different part of the house last fall, and made the mistake of calling one of the big companies (Aramendia). The situation was virtually identical - a small leak in the plastic "pipe" the builder used. Took about the same time, but Aramendia charged $512 - more than four times as much!

The company called to confirm the location and type of damage prior to arrival. Brought most supplies needed for the repair. The repair entailed more than suspected. Technician needed more material. Went of the clock as he waited for the material to be delivered. Fast, clean, polite, and quality service provided at a reasonable price.

Great, they came out and refused to charge me for the visit since it was such a silly issue. I will definitely call them the next time I have a plumbing problem.

Jerry was prompt, courteous, competent, honest and reasonably priced especially on a Sunday for an emergency service call.The repair was done quickly. I will be contacting them again.

The plumbers were very courteous and professional. One was an intern or apprentice I believe. They stayed busy and worked well for most of the day. They needed to make an 80 minute "supply run" over the lunch period and another 30 minute supply run later in the afternoon. Everything I needed corrected was completed for the most part. I was disappointed that I was charged for a full 8 hours of work when the work started at approximately 10am and ended at 430pm. They spent 30 minutes in the van at the end of the day putting their tools away and taking a smoke break while compiling my bill. The time I was billed included the 2 periods when supply runs were made. The cost for materials was also excessive, for instance two copper 1/2 inch elbows were $40. I could have purchased them at Hone Depot for $10. I supplied the majority of materials needed. When I questioned the total number of hours billed I was told " no I didn't have to pay for the supply runs" but was only given a half hour credit to my payment. I persisted by calling the office and speaking with the owner but was still only refunded the half hour fee. I don't mean to complain, I like this company and they did a lot of work but I feel I could've been given a little break for the time not spent doing any actual plumbing, especially since it seemed like I paid for their time on a lunch break. The work completed was done well. The only thing they couldn't help me on was getting to the core issue with the sewer backup. They said I needed to schedule a camera inspection and that couldn't be scheduled until the following week and then the time frame for actually repairing the broken lines was several weeks out from the following week as well. I ended up calling another plumber the next day, a larger company that could immediately correct the sewer issue. I will still do business with JL Hearn Plumbing as good plumbers are hard to find. I just am not happy with being billed for excess hours of service that I don't believe work was being performed. I did get the refund for the one half hour as promised. I will also try to supply any of the parts/materials needed for any future work as their price list is expensive.

When they got ready to leave, the young man and his helper gave me the bill for $325, which was totally unexpected. They called the owner, and the owner and he said he had been out of town and it should have been $295. Then he ended up taking $100 off, but I didn’t feel much better about the whole situation. I had such a good experience them the first time I used them, and this time was less than pleasant.

These guys rocked it - they were on time, on schedule, worked efficiently, communicated well, and got the job done - they really put the service in customer service. Extremely pleased and will always use these guys for my plumbing needs.

This is not the first time I've used J.L. Hearn, and it won't be the last time! They are always responsive, responsible and don't try to push a sale on me that's not warranted. The plumbers and journeymen are also very cordial, polite and thorough in their work. I also like that they take the time to explain to me what's going on and why. This particular time I explained the problem we were having; sediment in the water coming through the tub and faucets. They recommended a new water heater. We discussed my selecting one vs. them, my specific needs and the time to install. They were prompt, efficient and provided a warranty on their work and the equipment. Replacement did solve the problem, by the way. I'm very pleased with Hearn Plumbing. I have used them for almost 10 years and every once in a while I compare their prices with other plumbers for the same work. They always come in with the better value. I highly recommend them.

They were quick and repaired the problem with 45 minutes.

I discovered the problem about 12:30 pm. Serviceman arrived about 5 pm. By the time problem was diagnosed (moisture on the flood sensor), parts store was closed. Suggestion was to let a fan blow on the sensor and check the heater in the morning. I had little confidence in this effort as the sensor had been drying for 56 hours already. The sensor had just some spray on it from when I "drained" the heater (of 4 cups until the sediment cleared) 2 days earlier. This provider had installed the heater and did an "upgrade" to the faucet. The new faucet sprays all over the place. A hose will not fit on the faucet due to its placement in the closet. I paid $95. I called the office in the morning because the fan drying had not helped. The serviceman returned with a new sensor, installed it, and all was well. Except I was charged the $85 service charge (less a 10% senior citizen discount this time) plus $10 fuel charge again! And, of course, the cost of the part. I thought all businesses guarantee their work, usually for at least 30 days. Apparently, this business does not. I e-mailed the business requesting a refund of the first service call thinking this double-charging was surely an error. No response for a week so I called the office. The lady was to give Jerry my message. Three weeks later, still no response. I called the office again and left a message. Finally heard from Jerry after this third contact. He stands by his policy. He says it is fair. I was an established customer. He installed the heater when his business was young and there was one other call. Ironically, Jerry had told me the reason he started his own business was because he thought his other employers were charging too much! I didn't need hot water again for 2 days. The job could have waited until it could be done in 1 day and, hopefully, for one charge. But I was not given that option. And the problem could have been avoided if I had been advised of the flood sensor when the heater was installed. Guess I was very lucky the other drainings.

Things went well and he did a good job.

David and his helper arrived on time and got right to work. They were courteous and helpful, explaining what they were doing in layman's terms. Certainly not cheap but you pay for quality and we felt we got good value for the money spent on the project. We've tried cheep plumbers in the past and you get what you pay for, they are no bargain. The project took them about 4 hours which was reasonable given the age of the existing plumbing and that they not only replaced the faucet's but also installed new drains and stoppers. Two of our toilets had slow leaks causing them to refill the tank for leaked water. David took a look said that was a simple fix, told me what to do to fix it. It worked, it was a simple fix I could do myself, and now that's fixed too. Plan to call JL Hearn and specifically request David Eardley for future plumbing repairs.

I called and set up an appointment for my day off. They arrived on time and quickly assessed the problem. Turns out, the home builder actually finished over the drain pipe from the laundry room where it exits through the foundation on the side of the house. They said this is a fairly common problem they see. The business owner even came out to see if they could easily locate where the pipe would exit but were unable to due to the concrete work around the foundation. He said they would be able to locate it with the use of a camera but it would be a couple of days before they could bring it over. He quoted me $200 for them to locate and open up the drain pipe and explained what would need to be done on the outside of the house and what it would look like. Since this wasn't an emergency situation, I decided to wait to have it done. They didn't charge me anything for the service call and the three of them were here for about an hour and a half. I will definitely use them again for any future needs!

I Don't have a lot of details. This work was done at our rental property. But , we are very satisfied with him. From now on he is our guy.

We had an electric water heater that began to leak. I called JL Hearn because they had very good reviews and were close to my home in Universal City. They pointed out that the water heater had a plugged gas line and asked if we were interested in changing the heater from electric gas. They took the time to ensure the flute and other items were up to code and gave us a good price for installation. A few weeks after the installation, we experienced very low water pressure throughout our home. I called to report the problem. They returned to my home that same day. The gentlemen explained that it was probably the flow regulator the City required may have gone bad. He quoted me $700 to fix the issue. They scheduled to do the work the next morning. Before they began the work the next morning, they lowered the price to $425 since some of the parts required for the job were installed when the water heater was installed a few weeks before. They could have taken the $700 that we had agreed to but they were honest and lowered the price accordingly. It is a good feeling that the folks that you pay your own hard earned money have integrity. I will certainly call JL Hearn for my plumbing needs and highly recommend them.

Great company. Two young men came on time to replace my water heater. They were very professional, started the job right away, and cleaned up everything when they were done. It wasn't easy getting the water heater out of the closet but they did so without damaging anything. I did not locate this company from Angies List, I used the BBB. Since they are listed here I wanted to let you all know that they are a great company.

They actually were early and completed the work before the original scheduled appointment time. In addition they also corrected some mistakes that the original person who installed the hot water heater made. Both men were professional and courteous and also explained everything they had done and why.

They were timely in their response. Two technicians that came out were very friendly and communicated well. They ran in to a small complication, they were creative in dealing with the minor setback in getting it repaired.
