Clear Choice Remodeling

Workers arrived ontime, on date, and performaed all work in aprofessional manner. Site cleanup was excellent. All workmanship is excellent. Only required one change order - work was cheerfully performed, and the compeltion date was met. We will use CLEAR CHOICE FLOORING, DESIGN, & REMODELING again in the future for additional prjects.

After quite a bit of delay, which was entirely our fault, they sent two guy who did the job. They were punctual, courteous, worked quickly and quietly, and cleaned up afterwards. Most importantly, they did a great job.

They were professional, punctual, and they did quality work. They were reasonable too. I would use them again.

They did a good job. We did have some trouble getting the appointment set, but we worked it out.

A representative from Clear Choice arrived at my house on time. She introduced me to the two workmen who would be performing the handyman services. She went over the list of jobs I had requested, reviewed the amount of time estimated for the work, reviewed the deal I had purchased through Angie's List, and explained any costs if I decided to have the two men continue to work past the time already paid for. She was very professional and personable. The two workmen performed the jobs I had requested and cleaned up thoroughly upon completion.

They came over to look at the job and give me an estimate. They were really nice and helpful; very enthusiastic, but I ended up not using them. They had a beautiful store. She was really timely in giving me a very detailed. estimate. The cost was a little more than I was looking for. I may still end up using them in the future.

Complete renovation of bathroom and hallway. Popcorn ceilings removed, orange peel texture done, Removed old lighting and tub, enlarged the shower moved and replaced the toilet. Repaired cabinets, replace tile on showe rand floors. Installed granite, new lighting, mirror, sink and toilet. Painted both bathroom and hallway.

I purchased two coupons, each for 6 hours, and used them for two projects. For each project, Clear Choice sent out individuals with the appropriate skills. Everyone showed up at their appointed times, we communicated about what I needed, and they went about their business. All the people Clear Choice sent were professional and efficient, and left behind a clean work area. I am very pleased with the work done on the wall and the toilet installations. Clear Choice's office staff was good about communicating schedules and let me know when they were on their way to the house. Great job by all.

It went very well , they completed all the work on the alloted time .

This was a use-it-or-lose-it if not used within 6 months or so of purchasing kind of deal. So I was a little apprehensive when I called with about 3 weeks to go. Dianna the office manager was very nice and reassuring, booked me on time. The owner, Jana Ward came out and looked things over, gave the OK for the work to be done in the allotted time, and scheduled it around my limited work availability. The guys came over on time (actually early!), worked hard and efficiently. Luis was the foreman, and it was clear very quickly that he was skilled and trustworthy, a good guy. The only thing that surprised me was actually my fault - the agreement said I would supply the materials, but I didn't realize that right off. Jana did point it out with plenty of time for me to get what I needed, and what was really great was she said she would arrange for her guys to pick up some of the supplies, because "it's kind of hard to get the right parts" as she gently said ;-) . A great experience, the work was done on time, in a quality fashion, at a fair price, and they went above and beyond what they were obligated to do, all done with a great attitude and a smile. I'd use these guys again in a flash, including for the larger renovation projects they are famous for.

Jana Ward (company owner) came out promptly, reviewed and discussed the work to be done and took a copy of the insurance list on what needed to be repaired/replaced in the bathroom. She told me who would be doing the work and that that person would be calling me and was highly trustworthy and could be trusted with a key to my house. Initially Jana had recommended that we replace the bathroom flooring with PVC flooring. She had a selection of flooring that we could choose from her showroom or we could buy elsewhere. We selected flooring from her showroom samples but it turned out that flooring was no longer available, and after much searching elsewhere I could not find appropriate PVC flooring anywhere else. After consulting with Carol (the "handywoman" that did the work) and Jana I decided on porcelain tile. Selecting the porcelain tile took a long time (my fault I guess...I didn't know what I was doing and had trouble matching colors with the wall paint and cabinet colors) but also the other work took a lot longer than I expected. I did tell Jana and Carol that we were not in a big hurry, but I thought that meant the work might be done in perhaps 6 to 8 weeks vs. 4 to 6 weeks. It wound up taking several months, in part due to the problem selecting new flooring and in part because Clear Choice had been inundated with people taking them up on the Angie's List deal and Carol got sick midway through the process. In the end, the floor installation required more hours than we had paid for and they kept us informed on this and we agreed to pay for 3 extra hours at the special Angie's List rate of $45/hr for labor. This was due to the porcelain being much more labor-intensive than linoleum or PVC flooring would have been. Carol did a very nice job on the sheetrock, wall texturing, floor installation, kitchen holes and drawers for kitchen. She was very conscientious and consulted with me whenever there was a possibility of something not going as planned. We had to make adjustments on the plans for the cabinet repair but it turned out fine due to Carol's creativity and conscientiousness. Carol was very customer-focussed and really seemed to care a lot about providing what we needed and wanted. The back door continued to settle and resettle due to changes in moisture in the soil so no work was done there. We did buy a new microwave which is still sitting on our kitchen floor uninstalled so we will have to find someone else to install it. The work that was done was good quality and I did not ever question the integrity or trustworthiness of Jana or Carol or Diana in the office. Everyone I talked with was cheerful, friendly and seemed to genuinely care about providing high quality service. For the future I would recommend trying to get a little more clarity (from both sides) on the plan for the work to be done, as I was under the impression until pretty late in the game that the back door and the microwave were going to be done by Clear Choice. They did save us some money and inconvenience when they bought the porcelain tiles and grout from the dealer and saved us some money as well as the hassle of picking up that heavy stuff-they paid for it up front and we paid them for the purchases when we made the final payment on the work. It was a real relief to feel confident that the contractors were genuinely trustworthy and wanted to give us high quality products and work for a fair price, which I definitely feel they did.

This was not as advertised. Well, actually the add indicated that you had a choice of one man for six hours or two for three hours. The first thing I was not given a choice. I was told I would have two men for three hours. In actuality I had one man, because the second man was just a helper he could not perform any technical tasks. The second man spent his time empting boxes, looking for screws, just idle tasks. However, the experienced guy was great but he was limited as to what he could do within the three hours. I would never purchase this so called deal again.

It went well , the work was completed within the time allowed . All went well.

I was very pleased with the service. They were on time, courteous, and I will use them again.

I did have a bad experience with the previous contractor. However, they came in and did what they said they would do. They also clearly explained the additional costs up front. They also completed the work in a timely manner. I was very happy with the service.

One of the handy people from Clear Choice installed some shelving in my wife's art studio. This was the result of the special offer through Angie's List. We were so impressed with the way that was handled, that we inquired about getting some cabinets built in our laundry room. Jana came out to measure and suggest some options for us. We were pleaed with her suggestions and price, so we went ahead with that. Since we were in no hurry, and the special offer had created some backlog for them, we gave them plenty of time to complete the job. David, their cabinet maker came out to measure, and when the cabinets were finally installed, it ws just a perfect fit. We are very satisfied in all areas and would definitely hire them again.

6 hours of handyman service, but job took just over 9 hours. I did have several small jobs to be done, but I feel that more time was taken to get the things done than necessary. The work done was satisfactorily. One woman was sent, and she did a fine job, but when hanging crown moulding on 12 ft ceilings, another set of hands would have helped the job to be completed more smoothly and I would guess in a lot less than the many hours it took. I had painted it, it was only the installation. I know these things take time, but that seemed a little excessive. I had a small solar light installed, paint around 2 doorknobs, some caulk replaced around a bathroom shelf, and the moulding. That took all six of my hours, plus I had to pay an extra 150.00 for extra time at 45.00/ hr. I then had to caulk around the top edges of the moulding myself (because it was a bit crooked), and she had already been here the ENTIRE day, finishing the moulding she'd started from the day before. No, it wasn't just 4 plain corners. There is one corner that has an angle. But still, being a professional, I'd have thought it would have gone smoother and quicker. In all, I think that almost 400.00 for those services was a lot. I also discussed having some switches rewird, and was told by the owner it would be $100.00 per switch. When the proposal came, it was for $625 (for 5 switches). Also asked about getting the 'tray' part of my bedroom ceiling painted, and was quoted $425.00. That was with me supplying the paint! Really? Just to paint the 6" vertical part of the 'tray'? Not the walls, not the whole ceiling....just the tray part. I think their prices are too high, and without the Angie's list deal, I would never have hired them based on those rates. Even then, I think it was over priced if it were taken at a per job to time ratio. I give an A on professionalism, just because the woman who came to do the work was very nice. Carol was her name. I actually felt sorry for her having to do the moulding by herself.

Everything went pretty well. We are very happy w/ the results. We hope to have a little more work done in the future. . . .

Whole job went very well, crew was very professionial.

Jana came to my home 2 weeks prior to the service date to survey my needs and set up the order. I was in contact with the office staff to arrange a good time for the work to be done. The service contractor, Luis, came with an assistant on time the day scheduled. He and his assistant worked nonstop until all the work was completed. I was extremely satisfied with all aspects of the project. The staff was wonderful and the the work is excellent.

I called Clear Choice after purchasing the big deals and they returned my call the next business day. Jana Ward (the owner) came to the house approximately a week later and did a complete walkthrough with me. We discussed and prioritized all of the different projects I wanted done. Jana let me know that a couple of the pretty big projects I envisioned would not be worth spending money on. In a couple of days I had a bid for those projects which could be done within the 12 hours I purchased. She did not push me to purchase any additional services from her, although I did go ahead with the carpet upstairs after requesting a bid. Jana was understanding of those items I could do myself, versus those I needed help on. She was a great sounding board for my ideas and offered hers as well. There was a few weeks until they could fit me in the schedule, due to the large number of coupons purchased - but they kept me informed along the way. The electrician, plumber and handywoman were scheduled for the same day, and all services were started promptly and completed that same day. A project manager came by the house and checked in on the progress. All were very professional and did an excellent job. The handywoman was very careful to make sure the wood floor was installed below the door trim, instead of butted-up to it - a meticulous job given there are 5 doors. The carpet was scheduled later, when I was ready for install. Three gentlemen arrived and completed the install and clean up in a couple of hours. They stapled the pad at all edges, which was the first time I had seen this. They were very careful with my newly painted baseboards and the seams are invisible. I am very pleased with Clear Choice and would definitely recommend them.

Everything turned out great and I would recommend them to others. Their price was comparable to everyone else. There was no problem with scheduling. This is the second remodel they've done for me. They've done my whole kitchen too.

We saw Jana on "San Antonio Living" and knew she was the person we wanted. We met with her and she gave us a list of references. The references we called all gave her high recommendations. The last reference we called said "she has done several projects for us, all of which have been wonderful, and we trust her". We were given a schedule and a completion date and they finished two days early. She helped us with colors and design. The quality of the workers she brought into our home were top notch, both in their workmanship and personalities. Both Jana and Mary (the project manager) gave their all. They actually made remodeling a pleasant experience, something we'd not known before. We're planning to start a new project this Fall and we're not considering anyone except Clear Choice.

It went exceeding well. It was very well executed amongst the different teams that came. The owner came and looked at everything that needed to be done and she sent me an email with the quote and agreed with the price. They told me they would be here at a certain time. The flooring individual came a few minutes before she was supposed to be here. Carol did an absolutely tremendous job. I was called my Mary, project manager, to make sure that Carol arrived on time and to let me know that she was at Home Depot getting supplies. When she arrived she took a look at what need to be done and said the other workers would be here shortly. Mary was a very positive and reassuring person. I knew I would be well taken care of. The painters showed up around 12:00 and I was introduced to each of them. They did a very professional job. They quiet and did a quick excellent job! From a management perceptive, my compliments to Jenna Ward at how well and smoothly the whole process was executed. Ms. Ward followed up with me after the work was complete to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction.
