Biggin's Door Refinishing

They (Joe and another dude) came at the expected time, let my wife know exactly what was going to be done. They proceeded to take down the doors, strip the old finish from the doors, then showed my wife what the doors looked like with no finish, asked my wife what color finish she would like (light/dark), and gave suggestions. They worked steadily the entire time. Afterwards they told my wife how to maintain the doors, etc. Great job and the best thing... my wife was very pleased!!! They were professional, on-time, Christian employees. The doors look great and my wife is happy! How is that for good customer service. Oh, gave me military discounts and Angie's Membership discounts.

They quoted a price over the phone, showed up when promised and finished the job in one day. They removed both doors, removed the hardware, sanded and refinished the doors, They also replaced the hardware which I had purchased. Family owned and owner was the one who did the work. Absolutely great people to work with

Neil, James and Taylor are very skilled. They are also very friendly and easy to work with. It is obvious that they take great care in providing excellent service. We feel blessed to have found them and grateful that they travelled out to our home which is an hour away from San Antonio. They started early in the day and stayed late. They made sure the work was done right.

Neil and his crew arrived on time and explained what procedure he would follow. They took the hardware off and removed the doors so as to sand off the bad finish that the sun had caused. They were well equipped to do the job neatly and efficiently. His crew worked non stop for most of the day. Neil pointed out the imperfections that were done by the previous company and was able to correct them which made my wife very happy. He took the finish down to bare wood and stained both sides to match perfectly. The finished product looked better than when we purchased the house nine years ago. I highly recommend Neil and his crew.

Very professional -- they called ahead. Did a terrific job on sanding down and refinishing the front doors. My front doors get a beat down with the full San Antonio sun all day long. They cleaned up after they were finished. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We contacted Biggins Door Refinishing Company after reading the great reviews on Angie's List. After contacting Biggins by phone, I sent a picture of our front door to Leanne and she had an email quote back to me within a few minutes. Our front door faces the West and we need to have it refinished every couple of years in order to preserve the integrity of the door. James arrived at our home on the scheduled day and time. He removed the door, sanded it down, and re-stained and applied a Valspar finish to protect it from the sun. When he was finished, our door looked like new. I would even say it looks better than new. Our front door now looks so much better than when we previously had it refinished a couple of years ago by an another company. When speaking with Leanne, she was telling me Biggins Door Refinishing offers a door refinishing maintenance plan which I fully intend to take advantage of. I contacted Biggins by email via their website. Leanne responded quickly with a detailed quote. Neil and James arrived on time and performed their work in a professional and friendly manner. The doors and threshold were removed, stripped, and sprayed with a number of coats of polyurethane varnish. The door sweeps were installed, the threshold was replaced, and the doors were rehung. The doors look great! We are very pleased with the work performed.

We couldn't be more satisfied with the work done to restore the look of our front door; actually, the door NEVER looked this good, including when it was first installed by our builder. Neil and James arrived as scheduled and worked throughout the day to remove the old finish, and apply new stain and sealant to both the interior and exterior surfaces. Their work was neat, thorough, and unintrusive; very professional. We will definitely recommend Biggin's and will use them in the future.

Fantastic. James was on time, and very detailed. I felt like he was doing his own door. That is how much care he took in refinishing my door. A great job. He removed all the old stain, he sanded it, he re stained it and match the stain perfectly to the back side of the door. The door looks beautiful and like new. Don't look any further, this company is the best. I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

The door looks like it did on day one. Biggin's worked all day to refinish the door. Nice to see strong work ethic still exists.

I had met this business owner on two occasions when he performed work in my neighborhood. He does the work under a shade in front of the house. I found him to be very friendly and always ready to share a hint. I had twice refinished the door with oil based exterior varnish. I called and received an appointment within a few days. The process took most of the day. The stripping and staining really improved the appearance of the door, producing a newly installed appearance. All hardware was removed from the door. The entrance to the house is sealed off during the work. The owner knows his business and does excellent work. He utilizes water based varnish for it's speed in drying between coats. I did find the water based varnish to not produce quite as smooth finish as oil based varnish which takes forever to dry. .

James, one Biggins expert refinisher, is who did our door . He did a spectacular job!! James arrived right on time was very courteous. He looked at the door, fully explained refinishing process, then went right to work. James made sure there wasn't any damage done to the door during the removal process. He worked on our door (did both sides) from 8:30 am- about 4:30pm . James set-up his work area (strip and re-stain the door) away from the house to protect the home owners property. When he finished the door, it look like it did when we first bought it nine years ago. If there were more wooden doors to be refinished in our house, Biggins would be refinishing them. In our opinion, you can't go wrong having Biggins refinish your wooden doors. We would highly recommend Biggins for anyone looking to restore doors to their original showroom look. Also, My wife and I want to personally give James our highest praise for an outstanding job done.

Answered all questions in clear detail and provided a superb end product!! If I had any more wood doors they would be refinishing them ... without a doubt! He arrived promptly, was courteous and was very careful making sure there was no damage to the door in the removal process. He set up an area away from the house to strip and re-stain the door; the final product is beautiful! We would definitely use Biggin's Door Refinishing again.

Neil and James spent 8 hours (no breaks!) removing doors and hardware, sanding, re-staining (a perfect match to old stain color), putting on protective uv coating, rehanging doors and reinstalling hardware . They were punctual, professional, polite, personable and did a fantastic job. Doors look beautiful. I would highly recommend Biggins for anyone looking to restore doors to their original showroom look.
