 + -1 moreThis is just my very long-winded way of saying: I haven't yet found a better plumbing company than Aramendia Plumbing. They appear to do high quality work using the best standards in the industry and offer generous warranties. Each plumber that I have had to deal with has been respectful and upfront and honest. Their prices appear to be fair if not particularly exceptional and they give you pretty detailed estimates before they do the work, so you aren't surprised in the end. It is incredibly difficult to get them to show up in the time frame they say they will and they will not inform you if their schedule changes. You have to keep on calling them for information. This is a serious pain point for me as I can't keep taking time off from work and I have a billion things to do now that I've bought my first house and am starting to move in. I expect that I will continue to use Aramendia Plumbing repeatedly until I can find a company that can manage to match them on quality and beat them on price and availability.
Description of Work: I just bought my first house and it has been a plumbing adventure. Aramendia Plumbing has been the company I've dealt with the most. I first called them out to address some misc. issues noted on my house's inspection report. The big kicker was that they installed a new water heater. The total from this first visit was $1850, but with the 10% discount it was down a total of $1,665. On this first visit, the two plumbers arrived early, were friendly, and worked quickly. They were understanding with me as I had to leave multiple times on errands. They did leave a dirty mess that I had to clean up, but in my limited experience, I gather that no plumbing company will offer to clean up after themselves. I felt confident that they did a good job. I called them back a couple of days later because there was no hot water going to my shower. I did not know if this was related to the new hot water heater or not. I had been given a time window of 2pm to 4pm to expect the plumbers. They did not arrive until 8:30pm. They never called me about the delays and I had to check up on them multiple times myself. When Aramendia came out they found that the valve cartridge was broken and needed to be replaced in my shower. This was obviously not related to the hot water heater but they replaced it free of charge. I called Aramendia back again because I was not getting any cold water to my washing machine. Again, I had a lot of scheduling problems with Aramendia. They were originally supposed to come on Friday, from 4pm to 8pm. I called at 8:30pm and was told they could not fit me in for the evening (they never called me directly to let me know). They rescheduled for Saturday. At noon on Saturday, I called again and they said that they couldn't fit me in. Again. I rescheduled for Sunday and they finally came out, if just an hour later than promised. Aramendia verified that my problem was actually a bad supply line to the washing machine and they replaced it for $150. While they were there, I had them install the shower arm another plumbing company didn't install. Aramendia basically did this for free. In the process, they discovered that the shower was leaking profusely because of the work the other company did.

 + 0 moreAfter walking into the garage, I saw a stream of water coming from the water heater closet. I called Aramendia based on their excellent reputation on Angie's List and a friend who was pleased with the company's work after getting the name from Angie's List. I was relieved to be able to get an appointment on the same day as my call. I received a call that the technician was on his way in less than two hours. After inspecting the situation, I was told that my old water heater had had a tank failure and could not be repaired. The technician took his time describing the problem to me and told me that he had a water heater on the truck. I was given the price of the water heater and told about a senior discount for which I was eligible. I was also told that I would receive a form to get a $50.00 rebate on my water bill. The work was completed by the two technicians who also cleaned the area as I was promised. The technician explained how to control the heat of the water so that I could easily make an adjustment if needed. I was very pleased that the technician filled in the company portion of the rebate form for me.
Description of Work: Installed a new water heater after thank failure of the old water heater.

 + -1 moreI had not consulted Angie's List and hired my housekeeper's husband to replace an old shower faucet with a new one. He made a mess. I consulted Angie's List, called Aramendia Plumbers (I had hired them before also, but had forgotten). They came promptly, worked efficiently, corrected everything and left me feeling that although they were expensive my money had been well spent (you get what you pay for). The botched work on the original job cost me 240.00 Aramendia's work was excellent, they were courteous, clean and professional. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Replaced front right hose bibb using 1/2" faucet. Replaced the valley springs and graumets for bathroom tub facet. Inspected a newly installed faucet in master bathroom. Wall still open and the solder joints looked real bad. Put in their new faucet at reduced rate. Cut out valve and soldered in their faucet w/ 1/2" couplings and blocked and strapped.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreThursday night we noticed our water was not as hot as usual, and Friday morning we lost all hot water. I called Aramendia at 10:30 that morning and by 11:30 two technicians were there to check out our water heater. They confirmed what we suspected, that our 14-year-old water heater was toast. They had a new one on the truck, which was a later model of the old one. In two hours they removed the old one, drained it, and installed the new one. Extra time was needed because the drain on the old one had calcified and needed to be removed. The technicians were extremely pleasant, respectful, and professional. They explained all work before beginning and explained what was performed afterwards. We will use this contractor again for all our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Removed and drained old water heater, and installed new water heater and adjusted temperature to be slightly higher than normal. Technicians swept up garage and driveway, and explained how to adjust water temperature.

Both were very well mannered and friendly, even towards my two dogs. The work was completed quickly and professionally. They cleaned up all water from the leaking refrigerator line. I will definitely use this company for any future plumbing needs.

Description of Work: I had a leak happening on Superbowl Sunday. They came at 7:00 and did enough work to stop the leak and dry up the water. The next morning they returned to finish the job. It was a total of 7 hours work. The telephone service was very good, I knew what to expect. The technicians (Michael and Eric) were very polite and kept me well informed.

 + -1 moreThe service team was professional and efficient, and worked quickly. They were very respectful of my wife and two small kids (under 2) at home. There were no issues or difficulties. The price was as quoted (exactly, actually). They actually were aware enough to set the temperature at the lower end in accordance with what is recommended for households with small kids (we didn't ask, they took it upon themselves to make sure it was at a kid-safe temperature). I ended up having to increase the temp a bit, but I appreciate their thoughtfulness and awareness. Overall, a positive experience.

The report wasn't exactly negative, but I did raise some then-unresolved questions and issues and wrote that I wouldn't call them for future work. I'm writing this followup report to say that I was contacted shortly thereafter by a company representative who had read my comments and was very eager to do whatever was needed to resolve my concerns and leave me a happy customer who would after all call them for future work. That's exactly what happened. I want to say that I no longer have any reservations about this company, that I do plan to call them again when I need their services, and that I am not only very pleased but very impressed with their efforts to satisfy me. I trust them entirely now to do whatever is right and needed for their customers.

 + -1 moreI called Aramendia when they opened at 8:00 in the morning after my toilet had overflowed. They had someone out by 8:50, earlier than their first estimate of time. The young men were courteous and professional.
Description of Work: Steve and Robert came in and verified that the plumbing was draining slowly. They opened the cleanout in the front yard and ran the sewer cable down it and found a little bit of root. Although there was root removed, it was not significant enough to not to give me the 30 day warranty.
