We only have one bathroom, so when our bathtub began to overflow, we called another plumber. They came out and said they would have to dig but could not get camera out until the next day and it would be a few days before they would know what the repairs would be. I called Armamendia, and they sent someone out right away. As soon as he saw we only had one bathroom, the guy had someone dig under the side and clear an area so we could use the bathroom within hours. They also ran a camera, told us what the problem was, and gave us a reasonable price (which did not go up) the next day. All but one person who worked on this huge project were extremely nice. The one guy who wasn't was an inspector or something, who did not speak English and who kick my dog 3 times, but Aramendia resolved that issue.

Perfect from start to finish - professional install and they answered several questions I had on future projects. They came out on a Sunday about an hour after I placed the call. Once at the house they were done in less than 2 hours. Would use them again and would recommend to family and friends.
Description of Work: Arrived home Sunday to a wet foundation and hot water heater leaking. Have used them in the past with great results and they came through again this time. Price a bit high but they removed the leaking hot water heater, installed an expansion tank, all new supply lines and installed a pan in case of future leaks.

Called to have a kitchen sink unclogged. The plumbers arrived, looked under the sink and quoted $230.00 to do the job and said they could not guarantee that the clog would be removed. I have used this company before and was quite satisfied until this visit. I felt the price quoted was excessive. I told the plumber I had seen ads for less than half their price. He became very abrupt and sarcastic and told me "good luck" and left. I found another company and they came out and drained the pipes for $69.00 with a one-year guarantee. I then started checking prices with other companies for the work that was performed and found that they were about twice as expensive for the other work done. guess they definitely lost a customer here.

Response from Aramendia Plumbing Heating & Air
Thank you for leaving a review of your experience. We are sorry you felt our price was too high. While there are definitely some companies that will have the cheapest price, we stand by our quote, as our prices are competitive with any large reputable company in the area. The $69.00 drain cleaning is obviously a "loss leader". We are glad to hear your needs were taken care of at a price suitable for you. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity!

I have received 2 follow-up calls from the Supervisor, Albert Joseph. The first, to acknowledge the comment placed on this site for the matter regarding "more sales than service". We discussed and reviewed the concerns I listed on this site. He did apologize and asked what he could do to perhaps change the score I assigned to the company on this site. He offered to do a repair free of charge; however, as I expressed, we took care of the plumbing issue ourselves. On the last call, he left me a voice message and expressed that he had spoken with the technician that was in our home and they determined they will need to make changes on their training; however, he described that the technician came from another company prior to joining their team. Mr. Joseph again asked if I would consider changing my score on this site. Although there was no repair by the company on 08-08-15, the experience on that day was no different than I described. I appreciate the follow-up calls by Mr. Joseph and his concern that we did not get the quality service his company should have provided; however, on that day, the service was the worst I have experienced by this company. Again, we are tenured customers and had to resolve our plumbing issues ourselves after waiting for their company all day to help us. If the scores that a customer writes are for a specific activity on a specific date of service are reflective of that specific event, I cannot in good conscience change the score for the event. I may however; considering using this company one time in the future to see whether the service improves from the last event. I believe the intent of this site is to ensure to inform other members of their experiences per event. Since Mr. Joseph did make the time to call and follow-up twice with me within one week, I have moved them up from an "F" to a "D" for effort and follow up only. The actual event was still a terrible experience.

Initial install seemed OK but it failed the first inspection. After additional work it passed. The new unit broke two weeks after 2 year free labor warranty expired. Aramendia charged $1200 labor to fix a leaky condenser, which they said occurred in one out of five units. It took two hours tops. After complaints about the outrageously high labor cost they refunded $600, so cost of repair to "new" unit was $600, still very high. A 20% fail rate is knowingly selling faulty materials then cashing in when it breaks.

They installed a new split on my A/C unit. I would tell friends they are great. They are really responsive and professional. They are not cheap but you won't have to worry about anything. The thing that stood out to me was that they are really professional on the plumbing side and they check everything to make sure nothing is left behind.

I called Aramendia Plumbing to service a water softener for my widowed 80+ year old mother-in-law. After talking with her, she mentioned the leaking toilet which we added to the work-order thru the office. When Jacob arrived, he had no information about the toilet, but was not phased with the added request. When I showed him the water softener, a Sears Kenmore model installed new in 2013, he did nothing to try to diagnose the issue but immediately launched into a sales pitch because "these units are throw away models and it costs more to repair them than to buy a new one". When I asked about a replacement, he quoted a 'low end model' at $2500 + dollars. I declined the offer. I called the Sears service line and was walked through a troubleshooting process that determined the bypass valve was closed to the softener. After a few minutes the softener was back in service. When I asked about the toilet repair, I got the 'it will be cheaper to replace it than to repair it' spiel again. When I asked the cost to replace I was quoted $750 +. I opted for the repairs to replace the seal between the tank and bowl, new bolt assemblies with new seals and flush valve which solved the leaking problem. The repair work was very professional and quick and am very happy with the result, but not the sales pressure. I shudder at the thought of my elderly mother-in-law dealing with the pressure tactics of the sales before service approach. She would have been saddled with a $3200+ bill instead of the $425 repair cost. Beware of the sales pressure tactics.

Contacted Aramendia in the morning regarding an A/C problem. The dispatcher related that they were very busy but would try to have a technician out that day. Around mid-afternoon they called to inform me that someone was enroute. Their man arrived shortly and went right to work. He ( Tommy Coffery) obviously knew his trade and even with my unintended interference was able to rapidly pinpoint the problem and effect repairs. The Aramendia people I dealt with were uniformly polite and professional. Their prices seem to me to be quite competitive and they warrant their work. My wife and I are very pleased with their service and will most certainly use them for future needs.

The service rep who showed up checked the PRV and determined it was bad. He visually inspected the water heater and said the high water pressure was most likely the cause for tank failure. The price for labor to install a replacement water heater was $675.00 plus $530.00 for the PRV and expansion tank, totaling $1,205. He also provided me with an alternate price of $2,325.00 to replace it with a new water heater and would bring it up to code (which was strongly suggested by rep). No other options provided. I called another service provider from angies list as I was not satisfied with this recommendation and paid only a small fraction of that price. As it turns out, it was a leaking drain valve that was real problem. The tank and all other internal parts are working just fine. The PRV will still need to be repaired but there is no need to replace water heater as recommended by Aramendia.

They are one of the big ones here. They are expensive, but they do a good job. Everything has been working great, we haven't had a problem with anything. It seemed like they were very much on the up sell, while they were doing this, they asked if I wanted to do that. They were very much into that. They came out on a Saturday.
Description of Work: I used Aramendia. We had some pipes in our yard fixed, they discovered that our water softner wasn't working right, and the pressure thing in the house wasn't working right. They repaired the water line from the street in 2 spots that were leaking , they replaced the water softener, and they replaced the expansion tank, and the house pressure regulator.

Initial work in December 2014 seemed to go fine. Aramendia's estimator was knowledgeable and courteous, so we contracted with them and signed up for their "A-Team" program. They did the duct work for an addition to our house and put blown-in insulation in the attic. The installers were quick, efficient, and pleasant, and took notable care to leave a clean site behind them. They also made sure we knew that the insulation would settle for a while and might reveal some spots that needed touchup. In March 2015, we checked and noted that the insulation had settled showing some thin spots, as expected. We had a few days when it was hot enough to run the AC, which cooled the house just fine. On March 27, the technician arrived promptly at the scheduled time to do the AC inspection under the A-Team service contract. .After a very few minutes in the attic, this person came down and told us that there was a leak in the coil and low pressure in the system. He offered to replace the coil for only $1200. He was unable to tell us exactly what the "low pressure" readings were, nor could he tell us what the expected/standard pressures for our Rheem system should be, given the day's temperature. He seemed somewhat offended that we were asking questions. We told him we needed those numbers to support a decision. We asked why the installers in December had not informed us of a leak in the coil and he said something about it not being in their scope of work for that job. He insisted that the system was about to fail and we needed to get this work done right away. We insisted that we needed those gauge readings, and he said, "I'll have to go take them again, I did not write them down." He went back to the attic for a while. I could hear him talking on the phone to someone. He came downstairs, then he went outdoors, then he showed me some numbers on a scrap of paper, adding that he had talked to his manager who had supposedly pulled records from December and found that "the system had too much coolant at that time so they actually bled some off." He also offered to come down to $800.00 on the coil replacement. At that point we told him, "No, thank you!" After some resistance, he did allow me to copy the notes he had made about the pressure readings. He left without giving us any invoice or company documentation. I told him I wanted to talk to his manager, but that message probably never got passed on. I did not call the office at that time because I was too angry to carry on a productive discussion. We arranged for a different AC company under our home warranty, told the technician only that we'd been told we had a coil leak and we wanted a second opinion. This second technician said we had no leak and the system had no rust or other damage/deterioration. He also gave us a printout of all his readings and informed us that our system is still under manufacturer's warranty, and we paid him the $75.00 copay for the warranty visit. Then we reluctantly called Aramendia to come out and fill in the insulation on April 9, 2015. When the lead technician, Chris, introduced himself, I asked who we should talk to about a problem with the AC service. He asked what the problem was, so I unloaded on him with all the details of the previous AC visit and warned him that I would be watching and asking for a lot of information as he worked. Chris responded beautifully. He did everything within his power to counteract the unfavorable impression left by his predecessor. After doing the insulation, he went on to do a whole AC inspection, explaining and demonstrating every step of the way. He made some adjustments to the system, apologized that he did not have a leak detector with him, and explained the other system readings that made a leak unlikely. By the time he and Gus finished, we had regained a level of respect and trust for Aramendia personnel. We are still unhappy about having to call in a second opinion, but better to pay out $75.00 than $800.00, I suppose. I gave Chris copies of the handwritten notes I'd gotten from the previous Aramendia tech and a copy of the report from the other AC service, asked him to pass them on to the Aramendia installation manager and tell that person I would appreciate a call. May 11, 2015, UPDATE: Aramendia's installation manager called on April 22. We had a long, productive conversation about the concerns with the first service visit, and he emphatically expressed that Aramendia is committed to professional service and customer satisfaction. Today in the mail we received a check for $75.00 and a letter of apology. I feel that this is a satisfactory resolution.
Description of Work: (1) Extended HVAC ductwork; (2) blown-in attic insulation; (3) A-Team service contract; (4) additional blown-in insulation to fill low spots. The house was built in 2008.

Called for an estimate on a 40 gallon water heater replacement. Upon arrival, the technicians did an evaluation of my replacement requirements and noticed that my previous installation did not meet new code compliance. They provided me information on replacement cost, told me what was necessary to meet code compliance and informed me that they could perform all necessary actions, plus call in their electrician to install an electrical shutoff box to meet code compliance. They gave me pricing information and upon acceptance, immediately began work to replace my water heater and bring everything up to meet new code standards. They had a good mobile supply in their truck and it was never necessary for them to leave and get anything someplace else. A special thanks to the technicians Michael Casanova and Gerard C. They were very professional and extremely polite while doing the work; they experienced a short work delay waiting for the electrician to complete a previous job, but stayed onsite, even though it was getting late, and ensured that the job was completed today! Such dedication to a job and the customer is highly commendable. Thanks guys. Would I recommend them..... you bet I would, and would want them back to fix any future plumbing problems.

Over-priced services. Confusing coupons and A-team system. A-team system ($225/year) translates into lots of inspections which inevitably uncover repairs needed. Charges are calculated by looking in a book of set prices, regardless of the time spent on the work. An excessive list of recommendations for work to be done, such as: new water heater, new softener, and new filter dual media. We had a sewer backup which resolved itself, but the guys came out for free from Aramendia the next morning to inspect it and recommended a PRV (pressure reduction valve) at $675 and a camera inspection of the plumbing. They were not able to find our Cleanout Pipe outside the house that vents the plumbing. But I should know where that is. The next day we had an electrical inspection (recommended by the plumbers) and they uncovered the need for a new A/C seer 13, $6,909, plus warranty $432 plus commercial grill $365 and a 4 ton box coil $2491. Furnace changeout also recommended. Total recommendations for repairs: $10,872. I need a loan. Better yet, we decided to get out of the spiral of inspections and repairs. My house is not that bad, and all of this stuff works fine right now.
Description of Work: A team free plumbing inspection. Recommended replacing both toilet stop and supply and all 3 bathroom sink stop & supply due to age (built 1980). They could fail. Agreed to repairs except one toilet didn't need it. A-team discount price $600. 2 hours work at most. I requested to change out h/B in backyard (faucet). $182.00. 30 min work. Total A-team bill $782. Called office later to apply A-team coupon received in packet. After overcoming objections, $100 discount applied. I believe the $200 discount applied instead to this repair, but that didn't happen (coupon reads, "half off repair of $400 or less, or $100 off repair over $400.")

Response from Aramendia Plumbing Heating & Air
We are very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with our new maintenance program. Our intentions with the A-TEAM agreement are to ensure that our members receive priority service as well as a 15% discount on all service calls. Any time we are called out to a home to do a home inspection, we do a visual check of the entire in-home plumbing system. The recommendations made are at no obligation to the customer. We simply take note of anything that is not working 100% to bring it to your attention. The home inspection call that is included in the A-TEAM Agreement package is no additional cost to you and we will always provide a free estimate. Whether or not you choose to go with that estimate is completely up to you. If we were to go to a home and not suggest repairs for faulty or less-than-satisfactory fixtures, we would more than likely be held “incompetent” for not bringing it to the homeowner’s attention. Our services are based on our representatives’ professional opinions. All of our plumbers and technicians are licensed and registered and are more than qualified to detect when there are issues with the home plumbing or HVAC equipment. If you wish to discuss the matter any further, please do not hesitate to contact our General Superintendent, Albert Joseph. Thank you.

I called Aramendia about a quote for a new water heater. They sent out Mr. William Washington and his assistant (I am sorry but forgot his name) to give me a quote in person. After we discussed the options (all of them expensive) I decided to make the purchase on the spot. I could have gotten a much-much cheaper heater at Home Depot (even with the ridiculous $500 for installation) and at other places, I still decided to go with Aramendia. Why, you may ask? Well, for one thing, they have already installed my water softener and reverse osmosis water system, and so I have some sort of relationship with them already. I have learned they do NOT use cheap materials and are trying to do a good job. William and his assistant installed the water heater in a few hours. When I started using the shower, I immediately noticed t the much less time required for the water to turn warm and of course the new water heater is more energy efficient as well. Overall, I felt it was worth it to buy an expensive heater from the professionals and to know I have a 10 years worry-free, warranty-covered appliance?

When Jacob came out he was respectful due to the debate that was going on between an engineer and a plumber. As I wrote earlier, Jacob took the whole faucet out and found it was all corroded. He warned that it could bust and leak all over our wooden floors. We appreciate his advice. The problem was worse than we thought. Jacob was respectful, polite and called back and said he would put the new faucet in for us. He helped us with the model number since this was 9 years old and we had no papers on it. The company didn't charge us a service call. My husband put in the new faucet. They are a good company that works with there clients. I would recommend them to anyone. Professional and respectful.
Description of Work: In 2013 we had a new water heater installed and a circulating system put in under my kitchen sink to get hot water faster. For a long time I had always heard a rubbing sound when pulling up the wand. My faucet was leaking at the base onto the granite and under the sink. My husband took a picture which he argued was installed wrong causing the eventual leak. He is an engineer. When I called Eric at Aramendia I e-mailed the photo to him then he and my husband started there debate. Jacob came out and took the faucet apart.. It was totally corroded and needed to be replaced. He did not charge us for the service call and we appreciate it. Our water had to be shut off until the new faucet arrived.

Bob and Tom were great, professional, and very funny. They fixed a blocked line in my water softner while 2 other plumbing companies tried to sell me a new system. The owner of one water softner company called me and said he was going to pass on fixing my system because they were unfamiliar with it.
Description of Work: Fixed a blocked line in my water softner, Bob identified the problem immediately

water from my main water line sprung a leak that was running down the street so I needed someone to come out in a hurry. had to cut my water off and called aramendia and explained my situation. she said they would get a plumber out between 12 and 5. He got here at 3 so I was pleased he was able to get here earlier. David explained the two options I could choose and I chose repair over replacing the whole line. He did not try to hard sell me into the more expensive choice. He got to work and had me back with running water in no time. He was clean, professional and knowledgable and I would definiately call aramendia for plumbing needs again.
