Showed up on time and did the work in a professional manner.

I purchased a water softener online. Our home was not pre-plumbed. We got several quotes (6) & Aramendia was the first to respond & gave us the best quote. They later added some money as the plumber initially said that we didn't need a permit, but when I requested he get one, he did. No one was even close. After the water softener arrived, I had to make several phone calls to get the same plumber (since he was familiar with the estimate he gave me & what work needed to be done). They kept delaying it until a few days passed by. The morning they were supposed to come out, I got a call saying that a tool to install the softener was not available & would arrive early the following week. Since we had just moved into our house & expenses piling up, I decided to give them yet another opportunity to install the softener. Finally, they came the day they had said (albeit 1.5 hours late) & got to work. The plumber & his assistant were professional, courteous, & kept us informed of progress/problems that were encountered. Suffice it to say that although there were the cheapest company by several hundred dollars, I had to take a few sick days from work which ended up costing me vacation time. I guess they saved us money in a crunch so I can't be too upset. Besides the time delay & problems in reaching them on time, I would use them again.

The service tech, Eddie, was very professional, prompt and courteous. He identified problems, offered suggestions and even provided me with estimates for balancing and replacing my current system. Based upon his work alone, if I were in another predicament to get service quickly, I would not hesitate to use Aramedia. However, for the service performed and the actual length of time it required to perform them, I felt the price to be high...especially since Aramendia offers a 10% discount to Angie's List first time customers. I know that coolant is pretty expensive and it took quite a bit, so I may be completely off on this, but just blowing the primary drain line clear carried a charge of over $200 and that seems a bit pricy to me.

Per recommendations on Angie's List, I called Aramendia for water leak in garage. The scheduler was very informative & sent crew out within an hour!! Amazing response time! This crew was very thorough & discovered that leak was under the garage slab & that this was not this crew's expertise. They explained that they would need to send a different crew to handle this leak & recommended we call our insurance company. We called ins. company & were told would have to wait for adjuster to come view the leak. this took almost 3 1/2 days! But Aramendia was ready when I called back & the scheduler sent them back within 2 hours! 2nd crew found the leak coming from cold water pipe in dining room (from street) to under slab in garage. Had to cut 2 access holes in dining room wall to get to old pipe & cut it off & solder it shut - they cleaned up any mess perfectly!) Ran new insullated pipe thru dining room wall across garage attic area to old pipe under slab. While checking the finished work, discovered 2nd pipe, also under slab & next to first leaking pipe. 2nd leak was coming from kitchen area. As was end of day on a Friday, they said they'd come back on Monday to work on 2nd leak. They 3rd crew was back Monday morning early & started same procedure on 2nd under slab pipe leak to kitchen. (all crews were fully informed of what was happening from written & computerized work information from other crews so no "re-explaining" of work to be done. I was very impressed with the communication with all 3 crews & the scheduler who knew everything being done at our home.) And like first leak, in order to avoid tearing up garage concrete floor, they re-routed pipe outside the back wall to kitchen, again using insullated pipe. Closed off & soldered old under slab pipe. Per Aramendia's recommendation, we had them do preventative work on 3rd under slab pipe in garage leading to washer there, as this pipe was the 3rd of this set under the slab & could leak just like other 2 pipes. Aramendia worked with us on price for this optional 3rd pipe work, which we really appreciated. They ran a new insullated pipe thru garage attic & closed off/soldered old pipe. Work was done quickly (as quick as this type of repair can be done) & all three crews were super efficient, thorough, kept us informed thru every procedure, very good technically, cleaned up all areas beautifully, were so nice & friendly, kept to the estimate & worked with us on the 3rd preventative leak work. I just can't say enough good things about the crews, schedulers & work done by Aramendia. It may be a bit more in cost, but the quality of the work & the crews is worth the cost. I highly recommend Aramendia for any work you need done. We will for sure use them again & consider Aramendia to be "our" plumbers!! Thank you so much, guys, for the great work! You are the Best!!!!

Really fast service -- technicians knew their craft and performed a repair at a reasonable cost. I couldn't have asked for a more cooperative effort under the circumstances. The repair was for a replacement valve in a Mixit shower temperature control. The old unit was difficult to remove, but the technician was knowledgeable enough to try a tactic that worked, and the repair was succussfully completed without the need for replacement of the entire fixture

They showed up very promptly, completed the job very quickly and left the bathroom very clean!

We had some problems but we got it resolved...

I originally hired the plumber to change out the hose bibs and fix the water hammer. The main technician was clear he was not sure of the cause of the water hammer but suggested fixing the shower balancer/cartridge as a first step. Upon arrival the technicians noted the toilet was running and offered to fix it as well, though they failed to mention the $189 charge and I forgot to ask. The plumbers had to return on 3 occasions in order to get the appropriate parts for the shower before completing the repair. It is too early to determine if the repair in the shower fixed the water hammer or not, however the toilet no longer runs and the hose bibs no longer leak. The work seems to be of high quality but it was definetly expensive. I would not use this company again for basic plumbing needs due to their cost but if I had something complicated would not hesitate giving them a call.

Diagnosis of problem with low flow, need to replace entire toilet vs. low cost effectiveness of acid washing existing ones. Quoted all in cost (materials, labor and taxes) for replacement work. Completed work within a couple hours.

** Price issue ** Called Angie's List highly rated Aramendia Plumbing because of continued issues with slow running and clogged toilet. We had plunged it 20 times or so before my wife begged me to call someone. Aramendia was very fast to respond, got someone out within an hour. He fixed the toilet inside of 30 minutes by running a snake - nothing complicated whatsoever. I just didnt have the tools nor did I know what the issue exactly was. He was suggesting we actually replace the toilet all together. We just moved in this house 3 months ago and it passed inspection. Replace the toilet? He offered $395 and wouldn't charge us for the labor (he said that would be $150). But this offer was only good ON THE SPOT - no waiting a day or 2, not til the 5pm - but only immediately. Ridiculous in my book. We refused saying we would maybe do that later. But then ultimately charged us $150 (minus 10% Angie's List discount)! For running a snake? Even though we paid it, I called 3 other 'A' companies off of Angie's List to ask them how much they would charge for something like that. Not 1 of them gave me a quote of more than $110 INCLUDING the service charge for the visit (normally between $25-45). Great work, although easy. Professional, although tried to upsell something completely unnecessary. But just outrageous on the price. We will not use them again - price issue only.

This had to be one of the worst experiences I have had with a provider. My AC compressor quit and would not turn on so I called Armendia to come see what the problem was. They arrived in about 1.5 hours and took no more than 5 minutes to tell me my system was grounded and I would need to replace the entire AC system. It took the tech longer to quote the repair cost than it did to diagnose the problem. They quoted me around $4,000 to replace the system and coil. They offered to be there early Monday morning to put in my new system. I felt uncomfortable spending that much without a second opinion. I?m glad I did. I called another AC repair company and they diagnosed the problem as a blown capacitor and replaced the part that day. That company saved my $4,000 that would have had gone to Armendia. Don?t use them. Save your money. I felt like I was being sold the entire time.

I called today about 11:00, and they could come between 12 and 2; however, I chose between 2 and 4:00. They called promptly at 2:00 to see whether I was home, and they arrived about 20 minutes later. He said the valve to the water line was "frozen," so he replaced that and tested the water flow through the icemaker line. There was no problem with the line. I'll need to call an appliance repair person for a new icemaker. The price was reduced by 10% for seniors. They were courteous, professional, and prompt--but pricey.

Wanted them to take the filters off and clean them and put them back on. This company does not do that they only replace the filter.

Very good, except for the bad news - a leak from the upstairs shower pan. They recommended someone to contact and we received a bid from both Union Tile and Lone Star State Construction - both very highly listed on Angie's list. Lone Star had the better bid so we went with them and the repairs will start this week.

After contacting 1st Call, I was told the plumber would arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. Unfortunately, due to a delay with the previous job, the plumber didn't arrive until 6:15 PM. Upon his arrival, I received a quote for $290 which I accepted. It took the plumber, Steve, an hour to install and verify the repaired PVC pipe wasn't leaking. There is a 90 day warranty on parts and labor. Overall, I was satisfied with the service. I was relieved 1st Call was able to respond and repair the broken PVC pipe on the same day.

As usual, Aramendia did an excellent job. Their response time is always short. The work was done perfectly.

Everything went well from start to finish, I was pleased that the job was done and that Aramendia was able to respond when needed.

I have had 3 years of trouble with this shower head dripping. I have had two other plumbing companies out who charged me, but never resolved the problem. I am so happy to have the shower working properly! James really knew what he was doing--top notch work & expertise!

We were impressed with their professionalism and the quality of their work. They came when they said they would and the fellow that came was very professional and clean. He did what he said he would do, so as far as the experience, we were pleased with the company.

Aramendia returned my call very promptly and had service at my house within 24 hours. The men were very clean and professional. They explained the problem and offered several alternatives with respect to repairing, replacing, and/or removing the unit, along with various pricing options. They had all of the necessary tools and materials to complete the service work on the first visit. I would definitely recommend them.

Everything went well. I was pleased with the service.

Overall the experience was outstanding, they were professional, courteous, puntctual, and the price was a great suprise. I highly recommend 1st Call.

(06/12/2010) Their prices to do the work are very high with very few alternatives. Charging for an opinion should not be $135.00. Everything was set in stone without any room for error. They would definitely have had future business if they would not have charged so much for so little work done. UPDATE (06/19/2010) Overall, they seem to be a competitive but they came out very quick, and very responsible when it comes to being fair to both the company and the customer.

About an hour after I called for service the Armendia service people arrived. I thought that was very responsive since I live in Bulverde. The service people were polite and business-like and got right to work. The job was simple: cut the leaky part of the copper pipe out and soldier a new section in. As the pipe was very accessible they completed the job in less than 30 minutes. Originally the service people quoted over $300 for the job I negotiated it down to $225. Although pricey for 30 minutes work it was worth it to get my water turned back on with functional plumbing.
