Aramendia Plumbing Heating & Air

I am not sure if there are reasonably priced as I have nothing to compare with. I was charged $192.00 lbs (two pounds) of refrigerant seemed expensive to me. Company rep was nice but his hands were dirty and he stained my ceiling paint. He also took too long to write up the bill.

I called on Monday and was able to request service for the next day. I was notified by the office the technicians were on their way. They started to work quickly and were efficient. It took approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete the replacements. We are pleased with the work.

They were great. They were really nice. They did excellent work. I thought it was kind of expensive though.

This was a Saturday during a holiday weekend, Labor Day! After trying to contact two plumbers in New Braunfels & they did not return my call, I tried '1st Call Plumbing' in San Antonio. A gentleman answered the phone and sent a team right away. They told me how much it would be before they started and went right to work. Eric & Peter knew what they were doing and answered all my questions. They were very professional and helpful in informing me as to why they were changing out the valve & other materials they used. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and call them again in the future! Thanks, 'First Call Plumbing.'

Aramendia replaced our old, often overflowing toilet with a new Kohler water efficient toilet. They honored the price they quoted me several months previously. The guys took out the old toilet, removed some tiles that were in the way behind where the new toilet would sit, and installed the toilet & seal. They cleaned up the area in the bathroom where they worked and made sure the unit was working. But the next morning, the toilet wasn't filling up properly, so I called Aramendia and they were here within the hour. Turns out the toilet fill valve was defective and they traded it out within minutes at no charge to me!! Aramendia is always professional and their prices are very comparable to others. I know I can call them any time I have a plumbing problem and they will respond quickly and get the job done fast. They also explain everything to me so there are no questions on my part. I will definately use them again and highly recommend Aramendia Plumbing!! Thanks, guys!!!!

Today has to be one of the busiest days in San Antonio for an A/C repair. Receptionist told me approximate time to expect serviceman and then called as he started to my place. Took about 1/2 hour to do entire job. Give me pointers on other A/C considerations.

Excellent! Especially when we had to call on weekend and holiday days. Very prompt and stuck with the job!

Worker showed up promptly to do this job and was told that the drains weren't plugged but that they had never been blown out and we wanted this job done. He did the job expeditiously. He was courteous and capable. He was at our house a total of 1-1/2 hours including the time it took for him to make up the bill. He said the bill would be $333. When I expressed astonishment that a company with good reviews from Angie's list would drop a bill for $200 per man hour for a simple job on a customer he said he wanted us to be satisfied. He called his office and the bill was knocked down to $299! I strongly recommend that anyone doing business with these people get a firm quote including a maximum hourly rate. The mistake I made was trusting this company's rating meant I wouldn't have to watch my back on their billing being fair. I'm old. I was in business for over 40 years. I learned never to give a second chance to people who have already behaved like this company did here.

Very impressed. Great service and response time. Our unit stopped working Saturday morning. We called them at 9 am and someone answered the phone, asked relevant questions and then scheduled someone for us no more than two hours later. They arrived on time and they were very friendly and professional. They checked the unit and immediately found the problem, a blown fuse and fixed it. They even showed my husband how to fix in the future if we get another power surge. Overall experience was perfect. Could not expect any more. Would recommend them without hesitation.

I thought they were very thorough in what they looked for. They quoted how much it would cost to fix it. We wanted things fixed right away, and they did that. They found one or two things that really did not need to be fixed. The commode was wobbly and it needed to be taken off. We had not noticed that, but they fixed it.

Very well. They arrived on-time, were very efficient, kept us updated on their progress and finished ahead of schedule. I was also impressed with the way they worked together as a team.

Woke up mid morning and noticed the A/C was still blowing air, just not cold air. Called Aramendia and they had someone over in about two hours. I gave Santiago as much info as I could. It could have been anything and I wouldn't have know any different. Santiago was honest in his diagnosis saying it was only the electrical relay and showing me the burnt box. Got that changed out and then checked the freon levels. Nothing else wrong. The house was cooling down as soon as he turned the unit back on. While Santiago was working on the unit, I was asking him questions to learn more about the system because I am thinking of updated the A/C (I knew the unit was older, but found out that it was the original Trane unite built with the house 23 years ago). He broke down square footage and A/C tonage for me and also broke down different setups to cool a two story house. Gave me some great info. I don't know if Santiago gave him a call or Aramendia makes it a practice, but his supervisor came over while he was working on the A/C (nice guy but don't remember his name). He checked the work, affirmed Santiago's info on the unit and what to expect and then expanded on the info regarding a new system. Aramendia did a great job and I'll definitely be calling them when I upgrade my system.

I called Aramendia in the morning and they agreed to come some time in the afternoon, which they did at around 6 PM. They checked out the broken unit and informed me what was wrong, what needed to be replaced and how much it would cost. They did the repair work right away, as well as the service of the other unit. They were very fair with their pricing and the work was well done. The two repairmen were very professional and efficient. I would definitely call Aramendia again in the future.

They performed the job easily and quickly, but the cost was outrageous. They charged $40 for the 8 inch pipe and around $250 for the service call. I don't know how they split the charge for coming out and doing the work, but they were at my house for 12 minutes. $250 for 12 minutes work. I think that's excessive.

Called for plumbing leak. They offered to come immediately, but since it was late in the day, we scheduled for first thing the next morning. Unsure of exact location of leak. We already had some drywall cut out. Aramendia came to my home and gave me a starting estimate for searching for leak, I gave approval. They located the source of leak within 45 minutes. They offered solutions and pricing for repairing or rerouting leaking pipe. I chose rerouting the line. They completed everything within 4 hours. Would definitely call again for their professionalism and speedy response, however, you pay for that service.

I had Aramendia come because I had a clog in one of my bathrooms and they had to get on the roof to clear it. They recommended a clean out be installed on my main drain making it easier to clear any future clogs. They gave me an estimated price of $1200.00 I didn't bother to get another estimate, so that is entirely my fault, but unfortunately, I felt that these guys were trustworthy. The men that came to install the main drain clean out were a different crew and while they were very nice and professional, they nickel and dime'd me to death. I didn't realize that they were paid on commission and the end price was $1800. I had another plumber, recommended by a neighbor, come to do work in the kitchen. I offhandedly asked what he would have charged to do the job and he replied $350 plus parts. When I told this to the owner of Aramendia, he said that the plumber was just telling me what I wanted to hear! I never got a refund or discount from Aramendia. The work was OK, but working on commission, the plumbers will charge whatever the customer will pay, thus increasing their return. Find someone else!!!!

I contacted Aramendia based on their reviews in Angies List. Also called a couple of others that were cheaper but Aramendia could come out in an hour while the others would take a couple of days. They quoted me $1,000 (with a coupon in the yellow pages) to replace my water heater. They also said they would install an AO Smith water heater. The crew arrived in about an hour on a Saturday. That was impressive. Upon arriving, they said my water pressure was too high (approx 105 psi) and that my PRV (pressure reducer valve) needed replacing (although they are adjustable, not sure why they didn't adjust) which would cost nearly $500. Then they said they would need to install a pressure overflow tank (not sure exactly what they called it) with the water heater and that would cost $100. I made a fuss that why do you need a pressure overflow tank if you're going to change the PRV? He claimed that inspectors require it. I then said I would call an inspector and he quickly said, "no, no, I won't charge you for it". I later learned my neighbor had his PRV changed for less than $300. As they installed the water heater, I noticed it wasn't an AO Smith but another brand. Oh well. Later, I read the manual for this model and the instructions called for a pressure overflow tank. Hmm, building inspector? I guess they conveniently forgot when they quoted the $1,000 that they had changed manufacturers and it required an added component. What topped off this poor experience was when they were finishing up, the guy came to me and said, "your water softener is leaking." I went to see and sure enough, it had a slow leak that had dripped into a small puddle. I asked him if they had touched it and he said no. Hmm. It wasn't leaking until they came. Once they had left, I figured out what happened. When they went to change the PRV at the main, they went to switch the valves to bypass the water softener. I guess this based on the fact they had a giant mud pool where they changed the PRV which would have run through the pipes and they didn't want it going through the softener. When they were done, they went to switch it back on. When they did, the valves didn't open all the way and created a leak. I know this because I took it apart and an "o" ring was pinched which allowed water to leak. I fixed it and it works like a charm. Overall, I feel they are dishonest The were incorrect about the manufacturer, they tried to make me buy something that should have been in the quote, and they lied about the water softener. In addition, once they've got you, they try to charge you excessively for other items.

Overall it was a positive experience. The receptionist on the phone was very polite and helpful and got someone to come to our house in less than an hour. We were getting estimates from several plumbing services to install the new disposal. Aramendia was the highest of 4 we called by $45. We ended up going back to Best Buy to take advantage of their installation service.

They were very prompt. The invoice was very clean. The workmanship was great!

The two individuals were able to unstop the drain from my commode. The process took ten minutes. Broken down; this means this company made over $600.00 per hour on this job. A bit excessive - I think! Will NEVER use this company again and recommend others stay away from then too.

I would highly recommend these guys. I just bought the house and knew from the home inspection that there was something wrong with the upstairs unit. The blower fan would kick on and work but the outside unit didn't appear to be working. I called them on Saturday and they sent a tech over. He checked everything out and determined that it was the cooling fan motor. Unfortunately, its an older Heil unit and required the OEM motor due to how the motor mounts. He took all of the information and told me that someone would contact me on Monday. Promptly at 8:30 AM on Monday morning, Joe called me and said that they had found the replacement motor instock locally and could get it installed same day. They arranged an appoint for me after work between 5 and 7 PM. At a little after 5, they called to tell the tech was in route. He was here around 5:30 PM and had us going by 6 PM. Everyone that I dealt with was highly professional. They quoted me price and it actually came in $50 less. I am very satisfied with the whole experience and will use them again.

My AC went out on 03/23/2011. I had been told several times by my AC Maintenance Company (Tiger Services) that my AC was about to go out. I was lucky that it happened in the spring when I wasn't desperate to get it fixed. I had the opportunity to get 5 bids and discuss different options with each company. I learned a lot. In the end, Aramendia provided the best deal. I'd used them before for plumbing (very good experience) but not for A/C. The gentleman that gave me the A/C bid did an adequate job, but the real selling point was when I called with questions he was very honest. He steered me away from a higher priced system even though that had been one of the options he'd quoted. He was also easy to speak with and gave me a lot of good information about "ratings". The installation crew arrived the next day and began work. Several things bothered me. First, there were so many of them (about 10) which seemed way too big a crew for a simple replacement. My inside unit is in a closet on the first floor near the front door so there wasn't a need for extra "muscle" personnel. Secondly, they kept giving me "readng material" thoughout the day that seem aimed at keeping me away from the installation. I didn't oblige them but they also didn't keep me away from the install. It just seemed odd that every time I came close, the gave me something to "read". At the end of the install, they didn't clean up very well nor did they show me how to use my system. The clean-up was easy to correct, but I shouldn't have had to pick up trash. I guess they expected me to "read" about using my system with all the material they provided, but again - it should have been part of the install. Despite this, they were all (all 10) easy to work with and my AC is great. Overall, I would use them again. One final note: The installation failed to pass the city inspector review the first time. However, I called Aramendia and they came out and corrected their errors within 3 hours and rescheduled the inspection for the next day. It passed.

The repairmen came when expected. The cost was more than intial estimate because he had to do some soldering. He didn't tell me that the job was going to cost more until i went to pay him.

They came, dug a hole, found the water line, cut line, installed valve, tested for leaks, explained operation of the valve, covered the hole, collected credit card payment, left.
