Description of Work: Chris cleaned up our computer "junk" and suggested we get a router to provide us with added protection and better internet service. We did so and have much better service with our computer as well as our cell phones (previously we had no reception here at all with cell phones). Chris is always available by phone for questions and problems we have with our computer and handles many problems we have remotely. We are very happy with him and highly recommend him.

Description of Work: I dealt with a San Antonio employee of Appstar by the name of Chris Lindley. He was quick, courteous, and professional. He came to my place to pick up my laptop and we discussed exactly what I needed to have done. He didn't try to sell me any extra services and he didn't try to tell me that my computer would need more work than it actually did. When I asked him what the cost of repair would be, didn't give me some wishy washy response. He told me exactly what the price would be, and when he returned a few days later that's exactly how much he asked for. I would definitely recommend this service and I would definitely use Appstar again.

Actually this customer's PC was so badly infected that she chose to have a complete rebuild of her operating system. It was of course explained to her that her data would be saved but that she would need to reinstall her software. This was done in a timely fashion and exactly as promised in both price and time frame. When the PC was returned it was discovered that she had been using a stolen (pirated) copy of Microsoft Office and as a result did not have the software to reinstall it. I offered to get her a legitimate copy and explained to her how to obtain one herself should she choose to do so. I also offered to help her with alternatives to Microsoft office that are free and would do much of the same thing for her. She declined. The fine for stealing software starts at $25,000 so as you can imagine I really don't want to be involved in that. I did the best anyone could do for her given the restraints she placed on me. If she chooses to pirate software that is completely her business but I did do everything I promised to do for her and more, so it saddens me that she would rate me poorly for helping her with a PC that was un unusable before she even called me for help.

Description of Work: Used an Angie's coupon for a $59 90-minute in-home service call. Technician arrived within window, checked computer for a few minutes and said he needed to take it into shop for repairs. Estimated that charges would be an additional $70 or so. PC was returned the next day, operating as if it had never been "sick". Though the cost exceeded expectations, that the PC was fixed brought a good result.
