Chris came over to my house to look at my computer. After examining it, he recommended that I purchase a new computer due to the fact it would cost the equivalent of a new computer to repair my old computer. He helped me determine what computer would best fit my needs and actually ordered for me online at my house. He took my old computer to take all data off so when he came back and set up my new computer, he could download that data on the new one. He was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful! I was very pleased with his service overall and would recommend him to others.3

Suddenly before Xmas, my Dell all-in-one computer wouldn't start up. I ran all the diagnostics and did whatever else I knew about to no avail. Then I consulted Angie's List and called Appstar because it had good ratings and also featured a coupon for service. Chris came to the house in a very timely way and because an extensive scan was so time consuming took the computer home to run the scan there. He phoned me later with the bad news that my computer's motherboard was beyond repair. I had him recover all my data and do some research on the cost of a new motherboard. It turned out to be "proprietary" and the cost was prohibative so I decided not to replace it or purchase another computer for the moment. At my request, he wiped my hard drive clean and disposed of it and returned to the house to transfer my data from his external drive to my external drive. Chris was pleasant, accommodating and helpful. He followed through on what he said he would do, and I felt his charges were reasonable. He also willingly assisted me with a few other small, unrelated computer questions. I would call upon Chris again, especially for PC-related issues.

They came in, took care of the computer, put free security, and cleaned out some programs that I didn't need to be there on an older XP.

So very well. Could not have imagined a better experience!

It went well, Chris had to take the cpu home with him to work on it.

Brought his diagnostic CDs with him and identified conflicting programs. He eliminated increased sluggishness and diagnosed 2 (two) hardware issues (one minor,and a hard drive about to crash). Got the warning early enough to save me from a nightmare.

Chris arrived promptly and listened carefully as we explained our needs: to sort and organize a huge mess of cords and wires in a cabinet beside the TV (mounted above the fireplace). Since dropping down to Basic Cable and adding ROKU last summer, we have been somewhat confused on what cords belong to what system (we inherited the TV, along with two sound, and a video system when we bought the house). Chris did a great job of sorting it all out, and patiently explained how it all worked. We were extremely pleased with his work. He was professional and friendly, and we would not hesitate to recommend him or use him again.

Everything went smoothly. Chris was punctual. competent, and professional. He took the time to find out what was wrong, fixed it quickly, and made it so he could fix small future problems remotely and save us the travel charge.

I sent an e-mail to Chris Lindley late on 12/28/12. I received a response early on 12/29/12 but did not read it until after 5 p.m. I called and Chris answered. I described the problem and he said he could come later that day or on Sunday if I preferred, since he worked most of the time. We settled on a time of 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, 12/30/12 and he arrived on schedule. I have nothing but the highest praise for his professionalism, knowledge, and customer service skills. He found the issues and explained the options to us. After my agreement, he changed the system from one that required the use of a sound amplifer to give me the option of using the TV sound or the amplifer depending on my desires. He worked for approximately two hours checking each component to be sure it had both sound and video. He also patiently took the time to explain how our system would now work and gave my wife time to write down all iinformation so we could operate it on our own. He went out of his way to take the extra time to explain everything and be certain that we were comfortable before he departed. I would not hesitate to use Chris again and, in fact, plan to do so in the future for some computer work.

The overall work took a few days since Chris had to take my computer with him. However, he returned the computer when he said he would, and made sure it operated correctly before he left. He made sure everything was reset the way I wanted. I am very pleased with the computer's performance now.

The entire service went very well. The individual asked what I was seeking and then went on to with his expertise to work on the laptop explaining each process and what to expect afterwards once he was finished.

We were extremely pleased with Chris (his business) from APPSTAR. Although, we spent a lot more than we had signed-up for, we new that our systems were old and in need of repair or replacement. We were pleased with the approach Chris took and we are very satisfied with the end result. In fact, we have had him back to work some other computer issues for us. Bottom line -- very satisfied with his work and would heartily recommend him to anyone who needs top-notch computer service.

Tech listened to symptoms and suggested wiping out everything and starting new. I agreed, he then took my computer for a few days. He later returned to my house and help me set up everything as I wanted.

Owner installed a new hard drive and other internal hardware as well as reinstalled software...he is quite tech savvy. All of the work was accomplished in less than a week, and brought back our computer and set it up, with full explanation of all that was done to the computer and the software installed and reinstalled. The owner also tied down and organized all of the cords from the computer, printer, router, and speakers for a neat appearance. Fantastic job all around!

I called the company early in the morning and left a message that I was in need of his services. Chris returned my call in less than an hour and we set and appointment for the afternoon. He called about 1 pm to inform me he was on his way from Helotes and would arrive in about 30 minutes. He arrived at 1:25 pm. He got right to work,explaining what he was doing in easy to understand terms. He was able to fix my problem and attend to my networking issue in a very short time. I was very impressed with his courtesy and professionalism and will recommend his services to everyone.

As indicated above, it went exceedingly well. I'm a happy camper, with everything operational and speaking the same language. Now I can do my Christmas card labels, and a monthly newsletter. I have more upgrades in mind, so he shall return!

Fine, though we didn't have the right computer for them to service so they didn't come out.

Very well. Appointment time was a little confusing as I took it literally and it was actually a window of time to expect his arrival.

I had looked through my computer for a week to see how I could fix it since it would not function correctly for me anymore. Chris asked me a few questions and then quickly found large documents that I had not created. He deleted them and changed my settings which had come with the program when I downloaded it from the Internet. What a major difference in space! Chris also made some recommendations that will insure I have a working computer for years to come. I am so glad that Chris was on Angie's List and that I was fortunate enough to get him to come to my house the very day I called him. Thank you Chris and Angie.

Very good! Because of some system glitches, Chris actually had to do my data transfer several times. He was patient and stuck with the process, and I still got the whole thing done for a very good price. Two other things he did that I really appreciate: 1) explained everything to me in terms I could understand, and talked me through the process, kept me informed, etc., and 2) gave me lots of extra advice on computer security, surge protection, and Windows 8, and more. I will definitely use Appstar again in the future, and have already recommended them to a couple of other folks.

Right on time. Very helpful. Followed up with phone call. Very pleased.

Chris arrived just as set up with original apt. time and date. After explaining what I wanted to do, he went to work checking out my computer and showing me new and better ways to achieve what I was looking for. He also went way above with ideas and other ways that would expedite my work load and make it much more user friendly. After discussing many other plans, he left and did not want payment until he had finished the complete job. My bill became higher due to the fact I purchased software I was needing to purchase anyway, a new router, and several hours of explaining how to use many of my features/software and doing trials to teach me. He was very detailed yet explained in layman terms to help me understand better. Very patient and included 2 visits, backup service, software purchase, new router, additional web addresses, and several hours of teaching me how to make life easier with a computer.

UPDATED November 9, 2012: CORRECTIONS TO THE PRIOR RATING WHICH NEED TO BE DELETED. AGAIN THE SERVICE, PUNCTUALITE ET DELIVERY WAS FIRST CLASS AND I 'LL TELL ANYONE AND USE THEM AGAIN WHEN NEEDED, PLEASE CALL ON CHRISTOPHER, AN OUTSTANDING TECH.

You did a good selling job, but I hope it will give me the two far more capable computers that I need. Also, we got the iPad incoming, but not outgoing. I had to use my Connectech again to get the iPad and the new computer going. Neither one would accept the password -- drove the tech nuts -- but he finally figured it out and fixed the problem. You did spend the time productively, but spent a lot of time telling me what you could do to make it all better: flat rates, upgrades, setup, etc. I felt some pressure to spend more than I had planned. I agree that they need what you sold me, but it would seem less like a setup if you spent a little time working on the problem as seen from the customer's eyes before launching into your selling spiel. You seem to be a nice guy, well appointed and otherwise very professional. I appreciated the call to tell me you would be later than you thought. That's the kind of customer support that get's you into Angie's List. I'm looking forward to getting everything back and setup. I appreciate your offer to get down on the floor and hook everything up . . . that's a real trial for me.
