Alamo Water Softeners

We went to Alamo Water Softeners to get the house plumbed and connected for soft water. What a great company. On time, professional, and efficient. The team of four or five, called 30 min before and came on time, plumbed the house, rerouted the main water pipe to the garage under the drive way like a piece of cake and fast, install two outside focets for unsoftened water, installed the system inside the garage and connected it to the house, installed reverse osmosis in the kitchen for drinking water, all this within two hours. Good price and Great quality. We just took our first load out of the dishwasher. What a difference.I would recommend them.

I would highly recommend Alamo Water Softeners to anyone needing a water softner. They did not try to sell me the most expensive system, but rather just what I needed. They also completely worked around my schedule coming in the evening to do the quote and on a Saturday for installation.

Everything went well. A few gliches but not on the part of Alamo Water Softeners. They couldn't go under our driveway so they had to dig around our whole house to put the line in (at no extra charge). Some of the grass was damaged in this process but they came back and replaced it with new grass. Someone came to our house about a week after the systems were installed to go over all the details, etc. I have had a few questions since that time and when I called them, they are always very helpful. We are going to have them do the yearly maintenance on the osmosis system and am confident that all will go well.

EXCELLENT! Installment was on time and they cleaned up after themselves. Communication was superior. System works very well, I should have done it years ago. Price was half that of another company. I highly recommend AWS!

The 30 day follow-up is a great idea. Usually, if someone is getting a new water softener, it is due to moving into a new home or is a replacement for a failed system. In both cases, the homeowner is not focused on the softener details - all they want to do is move in to their new house or get the failed softener replaced. Any information that is shared is forgotten because the homeowner is "frazzled" and has far too many other things on their mind. The 30 day follow-up allows for things to settle down to some level of normalcy and at that point, the homeowner will retain what information is shared. Plus it gives AWS the ability confirm proper operation of the system. In my book, AWS rocks! I highly recommend them to anyone.

Not good. I initially set up an appointment on a Saturday for a tech to come out and figure out what my issue was. I attempted to replace the filters on the system and since that point the water wasn't working properly; I know it was something I did incorrectly so I needed someone to come out and fix my mistake. I called and was told someone would be at the house between 9-11 Saturday morning and no one should up. So the next Monday morning I called and asked what happened and why no one came by the house? I was told there are 2 calendars they use to schedule appointments and my appointment was only put on 1 calendar. No apology was given for me waiting 2 hours and not having anyone show up. The lady who answered the phone was nice, but I figured she would offer an apology for the mistake. My previous experiences with Alamo Water Company had been great! Everyone was nice and helpful so I decided maybe this was a one time error and I decided to give them another chance. So I went ahead and asked to be rescheduled for the following Saturday since they stop doing appointments at 5pm during the week and I don't get home till close to 6. The following weekend came and since the lady assured me she would make sure my appointment was put onto both calendars; I never thought about calling back to confirm the appointment.......well shame on me because AGAIN no one showed up for my appointment. This appointment was scheduled for 1-3 on Saturday. So AGAIN I was there for 2 hours on my day off waiting for no one to show up. At this point I am beyond frustrated and decided something needed to be written showing this company dropped the ball twice. I sent an email through the company website letting them know what happened and to this moment have still not yet heard back from anyone. The products themselves are great and the people (up until recently) are wonderful. But to future Alamo Water Softener customers; when you call to scheduled an appointment, it might be a good idea to call everyday prior to the appointment to make sure someone shows up!!

He was referred to me by a friend. They were thorough and answered all my questions. They came back to make sure it was still running good. I was really pleased with them.

We were very pleased with their service. They clearly explained up front the costs and work to be done. A few days before the installation, they called to confirm the date and time. The crew arrived on-time and quickly completed the work. They were professional and cleaned up the work area afterwards. I highly recommend them.

We spoke with Trevor Townsend with Alamo Water Softeners (AWS) and received a quote for the job. He was able to accomplish this in a phone interview where we provided information such a square footage of home, location (indicator for water hardness), size of family, etc. We appreciated this efficiency in the quote process. Prior to this, we had received an estimate from a different provider that required an in person meeting at the new home site, followed by a much higher estimate for similar functionality. The installation was scheduled according to our timeline and went smoothly. AWS honored a 5% discount for being an Angie's List member in addition to a 3% discount for payment with check or cash. Approximately 2 weeks after installation, Trevor followed up with a home visit to test the softness of the water and verify that everything was functioning as designed. We could not have asked for a better service experience. Our thanks to Trevor, Abel and the office staff. All were very professional and courteous. We referred our new neighbors to AWS and they were also very pleased with their service experience.

This was one of the best decisions I had made for my new house. I recently moved to the San Antonio area and heard I should get a water softener. I initially chose another company but after doing my research through Angie's List, I decided to switch. Not only was AWS a better value...the customer service was OUTSTANDING as the reviews had reflected on the website. I've never owned a water softener but it has been so easy to manage. The water quality is beneficial in so many aspects: My skin and hair feel so much better; my appliances don't have the calcifications; I haven't had to buy water (that alone saves me a ton of money and hassle of carrying all that heavy volume); the Keurig machine isn't clogging;... The technician also helped me with adjusting the water pressure in my house. I just can't express how happy I am with my decision.

I had previously researched a number of water softening methods and companies. A highly touted electronic system did not work for us. Wasted money. We decided to get a conventional salt-based water softening system, and talked to a number of companies including the big box companies. We experienced a number of high pressure sales efforts by representatives that couldn't answer technical details. Alamo Water Softeners and another highly rated Angie's list company seemed honest and very straight forward. We decided on Alamo, and chose their Gold System. Installation was done about one year ago and I waiting to review so that I had some time with the system before I reviewed it. Bottom line: Alamo did an excellent job, and we are surprisingly happy with the system. Installation went smoothly, and they cleaned up nicely before they left. Workers were friendly, explained what they were doing, and seemed experienced with what they were doing. During the first month, we were happy with the system and thought it was working fine. At one month, they do a visit and check the system out. To our surprise they told us that they detected a problem with the drainage on the system, troubleshot the draining lines and found a blockage, and repaired it. I was very impressed that even though we thought that the system was working fine, they thoroughly checked it out anyway, and corrected a problem that we didn't know was there. We have now had the system about a year and are very pleased with it. It uses less salt than we were expecting (add salt once every month or two, at most), and we no longer have calcium or other mineral build up in the house. We also love the reverse osmosis system. Excellent company. Excellent equipment.

This company is outstanding! I researched San Antonio, TX water softener companies through Angie's List and found Alamo Water Softeners was very highly rated. I called and talked with Allen Townsend who explained water softeners to me in language I could understand and had no problem giving me a price for the water softener and installation. Others companies I talked with didn't want to give me a price until they could come and test my water to determine the best system for me, which put me on edge because I feel they should know how much their systems cost and what type of water softener is needed for our area immediately. I scheduled the water softener and reverse osmosis filter installation through Allen's wife Trudy (owners of Alamo Water Softeners), who was also very informative, professional and friendly - like talking to family!! Abel (installation expert) arrived exactly on the scheduled time and did a very professional job installing the softener and reverse osmosis filter. I must point out that Abel did an extraordinarily excellent & professional job drilling a hole through my granite countertop to install the faucet for the RO system!! To sum it up, I would highly recommend Alamo Water Softeners to anyone in need of a water softening system and/or reverse osmosis filtering system in the San Antonio, Texas area!

It was great. Did not sell me more then what I needed. Customer service was exceptional. They even said they will do a follow up appointment to make sure everything is working well.

The service went great. One technician came out and did a good job with the installation. It took him a day to install the water softener. He was very professional and friendly. He did a great job with cleaning up after the job. I had no problem scheduling the service.

We contacted AWS and Allen returned the call as promised the same day. He scheduled a time to come out, which he did and the new water softener was installed within two days! Allen was professional, knowledgeable, thorough and did not pressure us into getting something we didn't need. He said his office would call to set up the installation time - which they did. Abel was the installer and did a great job. The old softener was hauled off and the area was left very clean. We are very happy to have soft water again. A few days later the office called to see how everything went - and said they will come out to check to see how the softener is doing in a few weeks. This company was a pleasure to work with as they really do what they tell you they are going to do! We highly recommend them.

From my initial call last week through the installation today, everyone was very professional and friendly. Allen came out last week and gave me a quote and explained everything. Today the installer came out and was very helpful, answering all my questions. The price I was quoted was exactly what was charged to include the Angie's List discount.

The install was completed by a very professional technician. He answered every question I had about the systems. This was a new install in a new home, day after I closed. I would highly recommend this company, completed a first rate job.

I have nothing but praise for this company. Everyone was very personal, caring and professional. They agreed to squeeze me in on a Saturday after some digging appointments which could end anywhere between 3:00 and 5:00. The crew kept me informed by phone as to their expected time of arrival and arrived about 5:00 after a long day. They arrived with smiles and were not concerned about having to work so late. I kept apologizing for the late hour and they kept reassuring me that they loved their work and were in no rush. Amazing! After setting up the new softener and explaining how easy it was to use, they cleaned up and hauled off my old softener. I would use them again in a heartbeat, but I don't think I'll have the opportunity because I expect their product to last forever.

Outstanding service. They were punctual and great workmanship. The technicians and all the customer service were friendly and informative. They installed my water softener and RO. I did not have to pay until the inspection was passed by the City of Converse. They did not hound me on the payment. The system is working great. They explained everything. From a cost perspective they were half than a competitor in the area. They were awesome!!!

It was a painless process. Trevor the sales representative was punctual, polite and knowledgeable. The installation team was courteous and professional. Within a few hours my system was up and running. I am definitely glad I chose this company!

The initial visit by Trevor was on time, pleasant and professional. He was straightforward, giving me options, and not trying to push a new system but being honest and saying the current system just needs a repair. The actual repair was also on time and professional. I would use them again.

What a great experience! Came out to give me a quote for a water softener. Did not pressure me into any more expensive hi-tech system- made a recommendation based on number of people in the house (1) and thoroughly answered all my questions. Gos an Angie's List discount, pay by check discount, and a reverse osmosis was included They came out over Labor Day Weekend- wow! and installed quickly. Very friendly, they went over everything afterwards and cleaned up nicely. They even replaced a drippy faucet I had outside for free. I would definitely use again! Thanks!

Before selecting Alamo Water Softener to do the work on my home, I did a little homework. I visited their website, viewed Alan?s video and read the comparison charts on the Alamo Gold and Sentry models. I further read the information on the Clack Valve and Vortech technologies. Having researched other plumbing companies, I was sold on AWS before my call to make the appointment. Their website was informative and professional, their ratings and write-ups on Angie?s List are impeccable. The initial appointment with Alan went better than expected. My house was built in the 1960?s and the original footprint has grown with additions over the years. The first issue was finding where the water source actually entered the building and tapping into that water source. Rather than taking a shortcut (and causing greater expense for me) by connecting a waterline at the meter, Alan scheduled his crew to dig, find and test a line closer to the new softener location. We discussed my requirements, how long I planned to be in the home, and calculated my water consumption. His recommendation was the Sentry model ? he did not go straight for the top of the line even after I revealed my budget was $5000. I was already sold on the Alamo Gold version, and after some discussion on the Clack and Vortech technologies the decision was made. We set the appointment date, Alan?s team was sent out and they found the water source saving me $600. I had to work during the installation, so my wife handled everything. Her comments were ?They were very professional, pleasant to talk to, and they respected my decision on placement ? I was expecting them to say ??Let me check with your husband??. I really liked these guys? The installation went without a hitch. The team gave my wife a full explanation of the water softener and RO system. We have since installed a 2nd RO system so that our undercounter ice maker produces the same quality water. AWS has lived up to the very high expectations that I put upon them. This was a great experience for us and our appliances are Happy, Happy, Happy.
