The gentleman who answered the phone realized that my water softener issue needed to be addressed within a few days so they arranged for someone to come to my home on Saturday...no extra charge. Abel showed up on time and was the BEST workperson I have ever had in my home in over 35 years of home ownership. He was knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and even helped my neighbor with a water pressure issue while he was here (she came over to ask a question. I received a discount my mentioning Angie's List. Everyone could take customer satisfaction lessons from Alamo Water Softeners.

They were very good. We would use them again if needed.

I was impressed that the owner himself came over to discuss a new system with us. I thought that their price was very competitive. I liked that all the parts were made locally. We also got a reverse osmosis drinking system as part of the deal.

They were outstanding. I heard about them from my daughter who had water softener put in. They were very good at their installation and their followup calls. The guy who came in and installed it was absolutely excellent. I would rate them highly. I would definitely use them again.

Service technicans were on time and courteous. Very knowledgeable about the systems and provided necessary information on upkeep and expectations.

Went very well. We got several estimates >..This was the only one that did not tell us our city water supply which we have been drinking all our lives was"unsafe and full of bacteria etc." Allen was staight forward and gave us a great estimate a water softener and was 500.00 cheaper than the others (who were trying sell us a complete water treatment plant!) install was punctual, professional and fast> Highly Recommended.

Great experience, start to finish! We knew we were getting a water softener and had done some research to find a company. We also were bombarded by unsolicited visits from several other companies offering the service. None matched the honesty and lack of pushiness we saw in Allen and AWS. His technician Abel did a great job, to include doing the drilling into our brand new granite countertop without damaging it. The price was great, the service was even better.

I live out in the country and have well water I consider undrinkable. I've been buying bottled water or making distilled water for 19 years. I had a Kenmore water softener that developed a salt bridge and hadn't worked for years. My water has a high iron content and turns everything orange. Allen came out and gave me a precise estimate with clear explanations of all they were going to do. Abel installed everything, including a reverse osmosis filter under my kitchen sink where I can now get drinking water from a special faucet. This may not seem like much, but not to have to ration drinking water is fantastic! The new unit filters out the iron and I no longer have orange stains in my toilets, bathtub, washing machine, or dishwasher. Allen suggested the chlorinator as my well is very shallow and he tested it for and found bacteria. Allen is easily reachable on his cell phone. Abel has been out a couple of times to make adjustments, and he has been prompt. Lisa in the office is also very professional and helpful. I'm 100% satisfied with the product and service. P.S. I won't lie-- the unit cost over six times what my Kenmore unit cost, but it's been worth it, and I'm glad I finally did it.

We needed a water softener for our Canyon Lake house. The water is very hard and we were concerned about what the hard water was doing to our pipes and appliances. Allen agreed to come out on a Saturday to show us what they offered and give us an estimate. He provided us with an estimate and included the Angie's List discount. We had gotten other estimates. They were all about the same. We chose Alamo mainly because of the great Angie's list reviews. We scheduled installation for the following Friday at 2pm. Installation Friday came and the weather was horrible. It started raining early in the morning and kept raining (hard) all day long. They called me about 2:15 and said they were having trouble on the previous installation due to the rain but they promised to get to me as soon as they were done. They showed up at about 4pm and worked for 2 hours in a heavy rain to get my softener installed. Despite the rain everything went pretty smoothly. The softener was installed and all the applicable plumbing done. The installer showed me how to maintain the softener and answered all my questions. The next morning I noticed a small leak from the cutoff valve they had installed. I started to panic thinking there was no way I was going to get someone to come out and fix it on a Saturday morning. I had to leave later that afternoon and no-one would be available to let them in for another week. I called the main number and got the answering machine. The answering maching message included an emergency number to call after hours. I called the emergency number and reached a repairman. He came out within hours and replaced the valve. Great service.

very excellent service from start to finish. Owner, Allen, came for initial visit. He explained their product. He was very professional and not at all pushy. I signed up on the spot. The next week the installer came out and put in the system. He, too, was vey professional. He was careful to clean everything up before he left. Two weeks after the install the quality control guy came by to test the water, answer any questions I had and show me the operation in detail. These men were all on time and polite. I later got a call from Allen's wife checking to see if everything was running well. The service they provided was like you would get 'in the good old days' where a company Really cares about giving great service. I love the softener! It has made a huge difference in cleanliness of dishes. I no longer have deposits on dishes, shower doors. I use a lot less soap, also. I highly recommend this company.

They are fine. They are good, I would say excellent. They are on time, do the work above standard, they know the technology of their products and they can tell you why to use the product.

An exceptionally good experience. The owner came to the house to assess what was needed and provided a written estimate. The installer was extremely punctual and professional. It was obvious he knew every aspect of the job and had extensive experience. The job required modification of some pipes, which he accomplished beautifully. He happily answered all my questions and thoroughly explained operation of the systems. He cleaned up thoroughly after the installations. The company conducted a follow up visit approximately two weeks after the installation to verify the systems were operating properly. The whole experience was customer service oriented. I'd highly recommend them. They strike me as a local "niche" company that provides high quality equipment and service and is not interested in expanding its customer base beyond what they can support.

Great Christmas gift to ourselves. We have had many water softeners of the years, but this installation was by far the best. It was done in a very courteous and professional manner by all. Allen, Trudy, David and the installation crews were just great, friendly and made sure we were absolutely satisfied with everything. The initial installation had a problem with a faulty part, but was quickly identified and replaced without any hassle. Everyone has been very responsive to our needs and questions. We like the fact that this is a local business using local parts, etc. BUY AMERICAN !

After our initial inquiry to Alamo Water Softeners (AWS) via their website contact form (http://alamowatersofteners.com/), we received a quick reply (within 24 hours) and scheduled an in-person consultation shortly thereafter. Allen Townsend (the owner) arrived promptly, surveyed our initial water setup (with respect to water heater location, main water line into the house, etc.), and discussed with us the general principles of water softening, various softener configurations available, and which setup would best suit our particular situation. After deciding on a package that worked well for us, we scheduled an installation date (less than a week later). This gave us a few days to install a power outlet for the softener, which was going to be placed in a non-conditioned closet space next to the water heater. Installation of the reverse osmosis (RO) system was the first task undertaken. It is a very nerve-racking experience to watch someone take a power tool to your granite countertop. This was necessary to drill the hole for the dispensing faucet (see attached picture). The only other noteworthy part about this system is the final footprint of the filters and tank (see attached pictures). While Allen does give a general description of each component's size (e.g., "a dish plate" for the diameter of the tank), it is hard to fully appreciate the under-sink real estate you will be losing. Luckily, our chosen space for the softener system worked out well and the installation seemed to go smoothly. In total, I believe the whole system was completely installed in about 5 hours. To be nitpicky, things that aren't perfect: The drain pipes/p-trap configuration are, unfortunately, a bit of an eyesore. When I mentioned this at the end of the install, they placed a sort of bucket over it (see attached pictures). We did not fully grasp that this is what the final product would look like (I'm not sure either us or Allen knew that would be the end result--as the options we had discussed were all solely located under the house and out-of-sight). However, this final configuration is much better than the other options discussed by the actual equipment installer (Rick), which included running large amounts of piping along our driveway to a building in the back of our yard or snaking a large deal of piping all around the inside of our washroom to reach the washer drain. After discussing some possible alternate methods, our current configuration is probably the best possible given the atypical installation our old house required. Allen did come out and examine the drain/overflow pipe configuration. He did not seem happy with the bucket situation and proposed another solution to at least better cover the exposed drain pipe. Our work estimate write-up included 2 hard water faucets for lawn care, plants, etc. (1 in the front and 1 in the back). However, we only received 1 hard water faucet in the front--all others have been transferred over to the soft water (see attached picture). It should be noted, though, that the Allen at AWS has made a note in their system and said we can have an additional spigot installed later, if we deem necessary. The take-away: Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience. Buying and installing a water softener system can seem an overwhelming task at times and opinions about necessary equipment and configurations seem to vary widely. Fortunately, Allen and others at Alamo Water Softeners made the entire process a very pleasurable and professional experience. Their customer service is phenomenal, going above and beyond expectations. Just as an example of their exemplary service, Allen's wife Trudy ("The Boss") sent me a TDS meter so I can monitor dissolved solids in my water since they know I take my coffee seriously. When we discovered the RO water actually removed more dissolved solids than recommended for coffee by the Specialty Coffee Association of America, Allen was quick to offer solutions, which I greatly appreciated; however, we never agreed to make our water ideal for coffee brewing, so I felt that should not be a concern of AWS. Not to mention, now that I have this TDS meter, I'm able to increase the solute content in my water to the appropriate level. All in all, I would (and plan to) recommend Alamo Water Softeners to anyone looking for a water softener system.

Their presentation was informative without pressure to purchase. Their bid was very competitive. They arrived on time. Did their work quickly and in a very professional manner. They maintained a clean worksite. The whole experience was very positive.

The sales visit was very professional, with no BS or outlandish claims. When you're good you don't need that stuff. Allen showed me the products and told me the benefits of each. We chose the Sentry45, with utilization and added value for future home resale in mind. The team was on time, friendly, and hard working. They kept me informed as they met and overcame minor challenges and finished up in great time.

Very good, had one hiccup about a leak but they fixed it immediately.

Through careful analysis of our particular situation we decided to rebuild our current water softener instead of purchase a new one. We are very happy with the outcome. AWS has fantastic customer service all around. They are very nice as well as helpful. I would use them again!

We had a very positive experience with Alamo Water Softeners, in fact they exceeded our expectations. We made an appointment for an initial consultation and Allen Townsend, the owner, arrived promptly and gave us a brief and informative presentation. He also thoroughly answered our many questions. We interviewed two other water softener companies we found on Angie's list and through friends' recommendations, and we chose Alamo Water Softeners based on our meeting with Allen and their competitive price. We called to set up installation and they called us back and said they had a cancellation and they could install our new system the next day. Able, the installation technician, arrived on time and did an excellent job. He is meticulous and takes pride in his work. He will take his time and make sure the job is done correctly. He rearranged a pipe so the system would fit better in the space we had allowed and he even installed an emergency shut-off valve in our garage. He was very professional and we were very pleased with his work. A few weeks later, David came by for a follow-up visit. He tested our water and made sure everything was working as it should. He reviewed with us how the system works and answered a few more questions we had. Overall we were extremely satisfied with the products and service provided by Alamo Water Softeners. We would highly recommend them, in fact we already have to several family members. We only wish every company that has come to work in our home was as professional and reliable as Allen and his team

They arrived on time and went right to work removing and disposing of old water softener, installing new and installing reverse osmosis. All installed and explained in a very timely manner. Garage was cleaned up better than before they came. Extra salt was stacked neatly beside softener. After install AWS customer service called and scheduled a follow-up appointment. They came out to make sure everything was working properly and tested my water. Some of my water was still testing hard. A phone call later and everything was working properly. Two weeks later they gave me another call to see if I wanted them to come out to test the water again, just to be sure. I could tell the softener was working so I declined there very customer service oriented offer. I also need to mention that the other 2 quotes we received were MUCH higher. The price and the service was phenomenal. I didn't just go with the cheapest quote. AWS was also the company that explained the most to me during the quote. I feel I got more than I paid for and am so happy we are no longer damaging our home with hard water.

Set up an initial consultation with Alan at Alamo Water Softeners. It was the most pleasant sales consultation I have ever had,. I never felt pressured and he made an effort to get us the softener we wanted without pushing us to spend extra money. With the Angie's list discount and a couple of "extras" at no cost, he made things very affordable for us. As for the actual installation....Abel was absolutely amazing. He was on time, explained everything he would be doing, and didn't mind when I came out and asked questions while he was working. I can't say enough good about this company. I just wish all the people we have dealt with since moving into my new house were as easy to work with! I will be making a point to tell everyone in my new housing development who are looking to install a water softener to give them a call:)

Alamo Water Softeners were prompt, knowledgeable, and responsive. We called them for an estimate based on Angie's List recommendations and they quickly came out to take a look at our needs. I felt confident in the system they selected and the price was about where we expected it. The install date was quickly arranged and things went smoothly. They came out to test the water and make sure we were happy with the system afterwards. I would use them again and recommend them to friends.

The owner (Alan) was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about water softeners. I was referred to him by a neighbor who got a system from AWS. I would recommend AWS to anyone interested in getting a water softener. The installer got to my home slightly before the scheduled time. I would rather have someone there earlier than later. He was very thorough about the installation (both in the garage where the unit was placed and in the kitchen where a water filtration system was installed), explained exactly what he was doing, and cleaned up the work area very nicely. He explained the entire system to me and how to operate and maintain it, including how much and what kind of salt to use. He said a company representative would follow-up with me in about 1 week to see how everything was working out. Sure enough, within that time, another gentleman called to schedule a follow-up appointment. He, too, was very professional, friendly, and knew his business. All in all, I am very pleased with AWS and would highly recommend them.

One man, Abel, did everything. Expertly, quickly and graciously. Follow up call a week later, at the house, to test for water softness and to assure satisfaction with everything. Good company to deal with.
