Alamo Handyman LLC

From the moment I called Alamo Handyman they were true professionals. They set up the appointment, called the day before to confirm and showed up on time. Brad was very professional and fast. Would strongly recommend and will use again.

After trying for a week to even make an appointment with Alamo Handyman, waiting an additional week for them to show up and receiving a confirmation call the morning of the appointment, no one showed up at my house or bothered to call. They had a two hour window, which I thought was ridiculous since I made the appointment a week ahead of time. If they are no courteous enough to call and tell me they can come or there is a problem, I doubt they would show up to do the work. Showing up on time and doing what you say are important. Alamo Handyman broke both rules. I am taking them off the list. They will never work for me.

I contacted Alamo Handyman seeking a quote to have the stain on my front door stripped and refinished. I was told it would take 2 weeks before they could come out just to take a look at it. I was surprised it would take this long just to get an estimate but scheduled the appointment anyway. Their representative showed up approximately 2 weeks later to look at our door. He was professional and courteous and after a 5 minute inspection, said he would email the quote to me within a couple days. Almost a week went by and I still had not received their quote. I called their office and was told I'd have it shortly. Four days later I called back again and was verbally given a quote of $948. I proceeded to set up an appointment for the work to be completed. I was told they would schedule another appointment to come out two weeks later (here we go again) but first they needed to email the quote to me for me to sign and return to them. Two days later I finally received an email from them with instructions to review the quote, sign it and email it back to them. Unfortunately, there was no quote attached. I did not respond. Not surprisingly, they have not followed up with me since. Not satisfied with Alamo Handyman's pattern of delays, I sought out additional quotes from other companies. I found out the original quote of $948 was more than twice as high as the other companies I contacted. I scheduled the work with a new company which only took 3 days to complete. I WILL NOT CONTACT ALAMO HANDYMAN FOR ANY WORK TO BE DONE ON MY HOME IN THE FUTURE NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY FRIENDS OR FAMILY.

They never showed up. I called them and they said they didn't have my phone number, which isn't true. Then they said they would give me an estimate based on the pictures I had posted/sent and they never did that either. So, now I guess I need to find someone new.

Brad showed up early and got right to work. He was super nice. He gave me a couple of repair options and completed the project super quick, professional, and on time. These guys are now on our speed dial. Great company and people.

I am so disappointed in this company. I contacted them in mid-March for tile repair in a bathroom shower where a built-in soap dish had broken. Not a big job, but it was a safety issue because of the sharp broken edges. We agreed on April 8, 8-9 a.m. for the appointment to give me an estimate -- they were busy and I was going on vacation so I was OK with the 3-week wait. On April 1, a representative called to say a service person was on his way to my house. Because I was on the West Coast where it was 6 a.m., I was sleeping when she called and I couldn't get to my phone in time to tell her she had the wrong date. I tried calling back but the line was busy. About a half hour later, the service person called to tell me I wasn't home. Duh! I told him he had the wrong date, and I was on vacation in Oregon where it was really early in the morning. On April 8, two men showed up at the appointed time (8-9 a.m.) and we discussed the repair. I was told they would email me an estimate within two days. I received nothing by April 15 so I called and was told someone would call me back that day. Nothing. I called back the next day and again I was told someone would call me back that day. It is April 21 and I still haven't heard anything. I realize this is a small job compared to re-tiling the entire bathroom, but if I can't trust them to get the little stuff right with common courtesy, I certainly won't be considering this company for anything else.

The individual came by at the designated appointment time and was very professional and courteous. We discussed the plans and I provided a blueprint from our architect along with pictures of the desired layout. He seemed very interested in the project and advised he would contact me with the bid. It is now April 15 and after several calls to the office because he did not provide a direct cell phone # on his business card, I still have not received a bid. Calls to the office resulted in the same response. "He had several projects he was working on last week and should have the bid ready soon." Still no bid! I understand this is a busy time for contractors but if you have no intention of doing the job, be upfront about it. Don't waste my time!!!

All of the smaller projects were completed in a couple of days, and very satisfactorily. The closing of the openings took longer, due to the complexity. Two by fours had to be installed, then wall board cut to fit the odd shaped openings (curved at the top), then the seams had to be covered, mud applied, then texture and paint. Registers had to be installed over smaller openings that Saul made, to ensure we didn't have "hot spots." The first set of registers I ordered were floor registers (not wall, my mistake), but Saul improvised and installed them into the openings facing the living area downstairs. The second set were intended for the wall, so he was able to install them upstairs with fewer complications. The registers look great, Saul made it work. We did have a small issue; the day after the project was finished we noticed that the wall was not smooth and the outlines of the old openings were visible. This was hard to see unless the light hit the wall in a certain way, at a certain time of day. I let Tiffany know, and she arranged to have Saul come out and take a look. Alamo Handyman LLC has a motto; the job isn't done until the customer is satisfied. Saul came right over to look at the wall, and then, a couple of days later, spent another 8 hours smoothing it out and retexturing it. He repainted, as well. It looks wonderful, as if it were always that way, and we now have a safe area for the grandkids, with no worries about them falling from 20-foot high openings on the second floor. We are very pleased with the quality of the work, with the responsiveness of the folks at Alamo Handyman, LLC, and with the high standards they adhere to. At the end of each workday, everything was left neat and tidy. Saul is very patient! Hardworking, courteous, proficient, we couldn't be more pleased with how the project turned out. They really will handle any project, no matter how big, or small. We will definitely call them again.

From the time of the estimate until installation, I received quality customer service. The install was on time with no complications.

We'd put this job off for three years because we didn't want to deal with the mess. They were great. Everyone showed up on time, and the work was close to perfect. They cleaned up after themselves and moved the furniture back in place each evening so we could use our home.

I had used Lalo Arcos of Alamo before and requested him this time. Alamo had been fair with me in the past, so I skipped the estimate phase. Jobs took better part of two days and I was completely satisfied. Price was a bit high compared to handymen I have used before, but quality of work made higher price worthwhile.

Saul showed up on time and got right to work. He did very well completing all parts of the job. Along the way he let us know where he was in the process and asked questions when he noted a concern. When he was done he thoroughly cleaned up the area and hauled away all the trash. He also highlighted a couple things we could do to make the pump house door more weather tight and secure.

I was totally impressed with the quality of work and professionalism of the gentlemen who completed the work. I was preparing my house for sale and needed several repairs completed. From scheduling to completion everyone was professional and friendly. The work was completed. One of the major projects was to fill in and touch up paint where I had pictures hanging - the walls now look like new. I will certainly use Alamo Handyman as needed for any home project!

Every project has been fabulous and done in a timely manner. The Alamo handyman team is number one in our book! They are always on time, they clean up after themselves and they know their stuff. We always have James as the lead, he does amazing work. Our whole house has been transformed to the house of our dreams. We just had barn doors installed and were handmade by Mr. Brian. These guys are truly talented ! We love this company and we will forever be their loyal customers!!!

They did a superb job and they always do. My overall experience with them was excellent. They are a superb organization. They showed up for work. They didn’t charge a lot. They did a very professional job. All the things that you try to do on your own, they do and they do it better and faster.

The staff are very nice and professional. I have used them on two occasions. The first time I used this company I would give them an overall average of an A. The second time I used them, for a bigger and more expensive job, I would give them an overall grade of B to B-. Looking at the carpentry work it looks good from a distance but when you look closer at the wood, there are gaps between joining pieces and some of the pieces are a little crooked plus the paint job could have been a little better. I touched up the paint myself last week. I later had Brian come out to give me an estimate on a small job that probably would have taken 3 hours to complete and second job that would have taken 5 days to complete. Brian came out and I never got an estimate. I called the office twice, they had called me back and said they would get with Brian to send me the estimate and I never got it so I am getting estimates from other companies. The second job probably would have cost me a minimum of $7,000 so I was a little surprised they never sent me the estimate. The only other 'negative' with this company is it takes 3-4 weeks to get somebody out to get an estimate, another week to get a bid and then 3-4 weeks to have the guys scheduled to do the job. If you are wanted to get a project done within the next month, this is not the company for you. If you can wait for 6-8 weeks, that could work with their time schedule. A compliment I will give them is they hire very honest and hard working people. You would not be worried about theft or anything with these guys. They also show up on time. You are never waiting around for hours on them and wondering if they will show or not. So there are pluses and minuses with them. Hope this review was helpful.

The electricians arrived on time and performed the work very professionally. We had bought security lights and after they arrived, inspected what we had and determined what we had bought would not do the job we needed. So off to the store we went to purchase the proper ones. They took their time cutting out the space for the electrical boxes, making sure the opening was smooth and the box fit flush with the brick siding. We will definitely hire them again for other projects we have plan. Also our next door neighbor came over and she observed the work they were doing and she was impressed so she asked him over to provided her with estimates on projects.

After calling and sending messages asking about the bid, I was told that they'd get back to me. No one got back to me so I will take my business elsewhere. I don't appreciate my time being wasted. I'm incredibly disappointed considering their rating on AL.

They did a great job. I would recommend them and use them again.

Lalo caulked and painted one section of fascia board on approximately 20 linear feet on the West side of a room where I had a new gutter recently installed. He also covered the sides of the air conditioner window unit with wood boards, caulked and painted the boards. He arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards. Lalo is professional, and I will use this company again when needed.

My garage is detached from my house, and I had a gutter installed on the front of it. I couldn't open my metal garage door which I use to get to my washer and dryer. The metal door hit the gutter and needed to be shortened approximately three inches. When I called this company, Melissa was courteous and promptly set up an appointment for Lalo to give me an estimate. I was given an appointment several days later, and Lalo cut off approximately three inches of the metal door and adjusted the door frame to the new measurement. He retained the door jamb and exterior trim. He installed a new piece of siding above the door and primed and painted with white exterior acrylic paint. I am very pleased the the work Lalo did in fixing my metal door. He cleaned up before leaving. Lalo is very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I was given the $30.00 discount on labor for a first time customer. I plan on using Alamo Handyman soon for another project and highly recommend them.

Contractor failed to show up at appointed time, and did not bother to call to notify that they would not be available.

Although it seemed a little pricey, they came on time and got the job done... the dogs love the pet door! I will definitely use these guys again.

They were very professional, prompt and did a good job. The work was well done and they did more than I requested. They covered some seams that were not part of the job. They are very responsive, accommodating and polite.

Brad did a great job...all within the alotted hour.
