Even though they did an admirable job I believe that these companies (A/C) are actually trying to sell you something down the line. I was told my condenser was rusty and needed to be replaced. I said I would think about it in the spring.

I called and talked to Josh to schedule an appointment. He scheduled me for that afternoon. However, he called me later and said that the tech would not be able to come and we rescheduled my appointment. I told him that would be alright. The tech showed up the next day and was respectful and professional. He said that I had a freon leak and need to have it checked, that it was probably in the coil. He advised me to contact the company that installed my unit as it is still under warranty. He charged me $216 and I thought it was for replacing freon. I called the office the next day as I did not get a receipt and wanted to verify the charge. Josh seemed to have a little difficulty explaining the charge, then said that it was for cleaning because of the leak. He did send me a receipt and it shows a charge for "Added 410a to system to proper specifications. 1 unit". So, I think I was charged for freon. Although, I found the experience confusing, the personnel I dealt with, were cordial and respectful.

We had had a recurring problem with our heater where it wouldn't turn on unless I banged on the outside of the unit in just the right place. That would have been easy enough, if I didn't have to climb into the attic each time. Kewl Aire was the 4th service company that we called to try to figure out what was wrong and fix it. I didn't have much hope at that point, but Jeff with Kewl listened carefully to my description and was able to diagnose which part was faulty. He quickly ordered the correct part and returned to install it within a couple of days.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal. I called and made an appointment. Charlie came out and inspected the furnace and installed a carbon monoxide detector. I had a thermostat that you could no longer see the settings on. Charlie replaced it with one he had in stock. He is friendly and cost was reasonable. I have since used his service for an a/c line repair at the same house.

The service person arrived as scheduled and checked the system. I told him that I had been smelling mildew from the air coming out of the kitchen vent. He found mildew in the venting and recommended an ultra-violet light to correct the problem. He also found a "weak" capacitor and recommended that it be replaced. He cleaned out the return air vent space and checked for carbon monoxide leakage. The repairs that he recommended were made that evening. I had to call shortly after he left to get him to come back and reconnect the thermostat. Additionally, I had to call the company a week after the repairs were made to get my receipt e-mailed to me, as had been promised. Finally, I am still able to smell the mildew and will call the company to return if the odor continues another week. These last three issues are what keep me from giving the company an A rating overall.

Repair/Service showed up on time as requested, I have an old system and spend 2 minutes looking at it and began trying to tell me it wasn't worth working on and a waste of his time and my money. I needed to replace my unit and when I told him I had already paid for the service in advance he did not know the specifics of what was on the Angie's list coupon. I showed him the email confirmation and then began to tell me all the things he would not do. He gave me the impression he didn't want to do any work and wanted to do the minimum possible. After I insisted he do the work list printed on the coupon he grudgingly did so. I was not impressed and do NOT recommend this service.

It went well but it was more expensive than I thought.

They did a good job and I got good advice from.

My family came home from a long weekend out of town and found that our a/c wasn't cooling. The unit was running but no cool air was coming out. I called Charlie and he called me back within 30 minutes, and then said he could leave and come this way in another 30 (and this on Labor Day, after 5 p.m.!). He came out, diagnosed a faulty capacitor in the unit, had one in the truck which he replaced, and our unit immediately started cooling. I would highly recommend his service to anyone.

After returning from a month vacation, I came home on a Sunday night to find my A/C broken. On Monday morning I called Kewl, and Charlie arrived within an hour to fix it. After half an hour, he recognized that the capacitor was broken and replaced it. Case closed. I feel that the service was responsive and reasonably priced. This is my first time ever commenting on a service provider from Angie's List; I am very glad that I called this service and would recommend it to others.

Tenant calls on a Saturday evening, upset because the AC unit is not cooling. June in South Texas is not a good time to have the AC go out. So I get on Angie's List, dreading the fees I'm going to have to pay to get the thing fixed on a weekend evening. Found Kewl Air and decided to give it a try. Charles was quick to respond, got the job done, and didn't charge any hefty after-hours rate. Tenants are happy, I'm happy. The only thing better than Kewl Air's quick, reasonably priced, efficient work would have been to have no AC troubles in the first place.I give him an A.

Kewl Aire came in, checked measurements to see where the current duct work was in attic, then explained they could run a new duct directly from the unit and where they could put it. We approved and they completed the job in under 2 hours. I am very pleased with all of the work Carlos and his company have done for us. Not to mention the fact they saved us over $300 (from other bids). I also appreciated the fact that they worked us in the very next day, so we didn't have to waste more money trying to keep the mastr bdrm cool. I just can't say enough good things about Kewl Aire.

Kewl Aire did a superb job!! All three of the personnel were friendly and got right to work. Was able to put us on the schedule within 4 days from the date I called. They showed up exactly on-time and did a very thorough and professional job. We're in process of selling this house. They were able to clean dryer vent even though I had not mentioned it when scheduling the appt. Air ducts and dryer vent had not been cleaned in years - they vacuumed up everything, so no need for clean-up after them. Dryer vent was completely clogged and serviceman had to make several trips to roof to unclog it. Since we had custom-made permanent air filters for the air conditioner, they cleaned those, treated them with a macrobiotic spray and had the whole house smelling wonderful in just a couple of hours. Would use them again - definitely!!

Charlie is a very nice and accomodating serviceman. He explains what he is doing and why he needs to do it as he goes along so you get a full story. He was able to diagnose a leaking AC and repair it after a competitor came out twice and charged me for just adding refrigerant. The competitor said it was probably just some kids "getting high" on it and siphoning it out. Charlie came out on the same day, close to 8pm, and discovered where the leak was. Originally, he thought it was in an elbow in the copper. I am glad he is thorough and upon further investigation, he found that a teflon washer was never installed in a valve so the leak was coming from there. He added a washer and tested/vacuumed the system. I have not had a problem since. I have recommended him to friends since.

Charlie was so accomodating when it came to scheduling. We were trying to have the ducts cleaned prior to moving into home we purchased. He even made himself available to clean ducts on a Saturday. He took the time to explain what the ducts looked like and also explain the quality of the grates and recommended replacement because of the age and rust. He disconnected the ducts running to the garage and explained that since one was a main duct running straight to the garage, a majority of the cold air would be running straight there. We believe this will have a big impact on our utility bills. The only reason the punctuality grade was a B was because there was confusion between where we currently reside and the home we purchased and were having the service done. He showed up at the old address, not the new. He and his assistant were very personable and answered any questions we had. He was able to take credit cards on the spot and issue receipts to my email upon completion. I would contact him again for additional service in a heart beat!!

Charlie and his team showed up on time and did a great job. We have an old house that needed cleaning in the worst way. He gave us some great advice on our system and was exceptional. They are great!

It was a very good experience.

Contacted Charlie with questions about the whole UV light system. He explained everything with detail to my satisfaction. He was on time and professional once I pulled the trigger and purchased the device. He estimated that it would take over an hour to install but took maybe half the time. Everything was checked and double check to insure quality.

Prompt return call & scheduling; called to confirm. Professional, informative about ducts.

Very well. No problems. The service provider returned my voice mail promptly, showed up on time, explained what he was doing and was very professional.

All work was done by Charlie Baker and helpers.His price was the best. He gave honest advice.He was knowledgeable and professional. Work was completed in a timely manner and to my satisfaction.

Everything went as planned. The team was a little late that Monday. No big deal. Two young men cleaned the air ducts while Charlie installed the filter and UV light. He also cleaned the system coil. It was very dirty because of parrot dander and dust. My only complaint was the small mess left in my closet from the insulation that had stuck to boots. Overall, I am very happy with the job and will hire this company again company for yearly AC/heat inspections.

It was nice that he didn't complete the tune-up without informing me that the furnace needed replaced. I appreciated his honesty.

Charlie responded quickly, took care of an issue another company botched. He is very friendly.

He came on time, he identified quickly, he repaired properly. He was a pleasant young man who was not at all bothered with the call and request on a Sunday evening at 9:00PM.
