Not well. Charlie did not inspect the coil but declared it broken and in need of replacing to the tune of $3,250. A subsequent inspection showed that the cool eas fine and that only the drain pan was cracked. The 15% discount offered was not honored The caps to the outside units were not replaced. All in all a very bad and dishonest experience.

Mr. Charlie Baker did a great job inspecting my new HVAC unit. He found some concerns and addressed them on a his report. Timeliness and professionalism is unmatched. Great prices!! Thanks Sir, I'll be calling you again for my next inspection or HVAC installs.

He was very helpful, explaining what he was doing and why it happened. Very nice. He's coming back in the spring to check out air conditioning. We don't have a problem, but want it checked so that we don't.

It went great. He's always prompt, efficient, helpful, friendly, returns calls and does a good job.

TRUST CHARLIE TO BE HONEST AND HELP KEEP COSTS DOWN

I made an appointment. When he failed to show after 30 minutes past the scheduled appointment I called his office and got voicemail. I left him a message. He called me back about 10 minutes later said he was in another part of town waiting on an inspector. I asked why he didn't call me. He asked if I wanted to reschedule. I told him I had other contractors coming to give estimates. This was totally unprofessional. He knew he would not be able to make the appointment and didn't call me. Very unresponsive and reflects poorly on the company.

Exceptionally well. Charlie had a difficult time removing a part, took it to his shop to soak it in some solution in order to save me money on purchasing a whole new part. He is very prompt, courteous, a professional and gets the job done. I've had no problems since. I am hiring him again to do a diagnostic check this week.

Perfect work with attention to detail. Did not seek out unnecessary maintenance in order to make money like many do. The exhaust connection was very pricey as they can be purchased from home depot for inexpensive; however, they took the headache out of my hands!

The price was right. They've done some other work in our neighborhood and we've all be pretty well satisfied. I'll be calling them within the next couple of weeks. They're just great. It's a small company and they take a good interest in what they're doing, that's something I appreciate.

Upon scheduling, he was unable to identify that we purchased the service from Angie's list. The service was perfect and during his servicing we asked for a quote for insulation installation and the addition of 6 vents. To date, we haven't received the quote via email as promised. We just sold our home and required proof that we serviced the unit. Upon contacting, he stated that we must print our receipt from Angie's list. He has no documentation of service. Not good, I had to go to Tex-Perts to get the A/C re-serviced. Should have never steered away from them.

Never informed me that they didn't service our area and took a long time to get back to us

The appointment went well. The tech who visited our house gave us a quote that was several hundred dollars cheaper than another, more well-known company that had been out to our house a month prior. Also, he had all the necessary tools and actually took the time to test and truly diagnose our A/C issue, rather than assuming he knew the problem simply by looking at the unit. We did have to have them come back out, because the A/C stopped working again, but the follow-up appointment was quick and was covered by their warranty.

Charlie was available and came right away. Found the problem and fixed it. No nonsense; handled it beautifully. Definitely recommend! :)

I could not be more pleased with service that we received from San Antonio HVAC Courteousness & professionalism were unparalleled. Our unit went out on a Sunday and Mr. Baker was at our home by 10:00 Monday morning. We were cool again by the time I got home from work. I will most definitely be recommending him to all of our family and friends. It's very reassuring to know that there are still contractors out there who are not only looking to "make a buck' but truly just want to help folks and not take advantage. Signed, ~Satisfied :-)

Only looking to sell me a new unit: On Friday afternoon my AC stopped cooling air. We have an old unit. I called them at 5:00 pm and was delighted that they would come out to my house THAT DAY and check the AC. The technician was punctual, which was great. After 15-ish minutes total (on external and internal units) the diagnosis was that our unit had a freon leak, but they don't recommend just topping off with freon, the internal coil needed to be replaced for $3500, but they don't recommend doing that either, so really my only option was to replace the entire unit. He sent us an estimate for $11,000 to replace both of our units (which included a $3000 discount for doing both units). The AC ran all weekend, and on Sunday we had someone out who meticulously checked our freon levels and said that there was no evidence of a leak and that the freon levels looked fine. Most likely the system just froze up on Friday from being set low all week and that cleaning the coils for around $600 would likely prevent any more issues for a while (there's no arguing that the system is old and will need to be replaced sometime, but nothing indicates that's the case now). In addition, even if we wanted him to replace everything (which he said probably wasn't necessary) it would only be $5800.

They were punctual, clean, courteous, gave me advise, helpful, and I was very pleased. I am going to use them again.

Our a/c went out Friday so we waited until Monday to call someone. I saw all of Charlie's excellent reviews, so I called him Monday morning. He was able to come out the same day in the afternoon. He checked first to see if there was a Freon leak while letting me watch and explained everything he was doing. One of the units did not seem to be working very efficient but he said lets just give it a little more time and the gauge needle moved in range of doing well. He then went to the attic to check why it was not cooling. He tells me that the panels were off the unit, put the panels back on and said" well that should do it". I couldn't believe it!!! Our water heater busted and had water damage all through the house. Apparently when the plumber was there installing the new water heater he took of the panels to suck the air out of the attic while he was working and forgot to put them back on. Within a few minutes of Charlie putting the panels back on the upstairs was cooling off. I was some what embarrassed and was so glad HE DID NOTTAKE ADVANTAGE. I asked him to please service both units and I would be happy to pay him. When he finished tuning them up he charged me $69.00 each, which is a coupon he has on Angie's list for the tune up, inspection and cleaning. So thank God he is an HONEST, PROFESSIONAL MAN!! I feel so blessed to have found him.

Excellent service and reasonably priced. He was $4,000 less than the company American Home Shield wanted us to use!

I purchased a new thermostat a few months ago thinking I could install it easily. Once I opened the box, I realized that the installation was a little more than I could handle. A few months ago I contacted this provider through Angie's list but did not follow up. Finally a day ago, I logged on to Angie's list and responded to the provider. He was still available to provide the service I needed so we set up a date and time for the next day. The provider arrived on time. He brought with him all of his equipment and tools to perform the service. He first checked my air conditioner system. He removed the old digital thermostat and replaced it with the new one. We updated the basic settings such as date and time. He helped me connect the thermostat to my WIFI network. He explained the system reviewing each aspect. He showed me how to register the thermostat through the Honeywell website and how use the thermostat to program wirelessly. All of this took about 30 minutes. I was able to register the thermostat and everything is working great!

This was a $29 big deal purchase. They were a little bit too expensive for what I needed. He said I needed an entire replacement and I wasn't able to do the replacement for the whole unit. He came out about two days after I purchased the deal. The estimate was good and it covered everything that I needed. He was thorough in going through and telling me everything I needed. I did not know it was that expensive. My interaction with him was good; we had no problems with him. The quote was very detailed and explained everything about this being the best option was to replace everything.

Overall it was an OK service. He way overcharged me for the freon, and just a few weeks later I'm having the same issue. He wasn't very clear about what the issues were and now just a few weeks later my system is down again. I'll be using someone else this time.
