AFFORDABLE BLINDS AND SHUTTERS

Description of Work: 8/5/2015 at 10:30?am,I called the company, no one answered the phone. The answer machine came on to leave a message, which I did. After 1/2 hour, NO CALL BACK, I called back and a lady answered, and made an appointment for me for 11:30 on Wed., 8/5/2015. At 4:09 pm on 8/4/2015 I had a message on my answer machine that they were unable to do something at 11:30 Wed. and I should contact Texas Shade at 210-732-4074. THAT'S STRANGE!!, so I called affordable back, NO ANSWER, LEFT MY PHONE #,no callback. I called back, got Denise to answer the phone, she knows nothing about the call I got from affordable and tells me she's unable to keep the 11:30 appointment with me because she has a 12:30 appointment. With that I think Affordable just doesn't know what the other is doing. THEREFORE, I CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT, and I want to cancel the charge to my account.

Description of Work: After much research on Angie's List, we contacted Affordable Blinds to obtain an estimate for replacing a set of old plantation shutters with new wood blinds and to install blinds in an office with no existing window covering. They were quite responsive and came to our home to take measurements and provide an estimate. Surprisingly, the owners themselves came to take the measurements and offer options. |They were very flexible on price and gave us what we deemed a good deal based on the custom size of the windows and the high quality of the product. |Since the blinds were custom, they ordered them from the manufacturer and on the very day the blinds were delivered to them, they contacted us to set up the install. |Richard, the installer, was able to fit us into his schedule on the very next day. I was incredibly impressed with the quality of his work, the speed with which he installed both sets of blinds and his demeanor. It was a pleasure to have someone so competent and who seemed to take so much pride in his work in our home. I would highly recommend Affordable Blinds to anyone looking for a quality product and great service.

Description of Work: Affordable Blinds is owned by Don Dickey. When we first used his service, around eight years ago, we were very pleased with the quality, responsiveness, etc. He installed several blinds and other window coverings for us for far less than other estimates we had received. Unfortunately, his service has deteriorated. We called him a few months ago to replace some blinds and pulls. He tried very hard to sell my husband on new window treatments for our living room (which are, by the way, beautiful plantation shutters), but was unsuccessful. He did take slats from mini-blinds that needed to be replaced to match the color, and was also supposed to replace some of our Hunter-Douglas pulls. We never heard a word back, even after repeated phone calls to his office. The receptionist continued to tell us that he would be back in touch, but never was. So he made off with our blinds, and never bothered to call. I suppose his business is now so good that he's marked customer service and ethical business behavior off his list.
