The Tex-Perts service man arrived, Edgar was his name. He was very courteous as he introduced himself. He proceeded to check my furnace. He adjusted the filter spring which had become loose and making a vibration noise. He further checked the furnace and flushed the drain line. He said my furnace was working fine. He then went out to check my outside AC compressor unit. He noticed I had a new fan and told him that had been replaced a couple of years ago. Checking the compressor, he indicated that it was properly charged and working fine. He then proceeded to hose down the surrounding cooling coils. We had a pleasant conversation as he did his work as I stayed with him the whole time.

Tex-Perts Cooling & Heating checked the units and they found some kind of problem with one of them, I guess I have to accept that there was a problem with it and they had to replace a part that cost me a little over 100 dollars. I had to accept that there was a problem. The price was good for an inspection and I don't know if it was an honest thing that needed to be replaced. I am still suspect.

I got a reminder/confirmation call 30 minutes before the Tex-Perts tech arrived. He checked everything out and gave me the bad news... that my A/C was 20+ years old, was completely out of coolant (about 9 pounds low), needed a special out-dated type of Freon that was $165/pound, was low probably because of a leak (again... old system). He gave me my options of a) re-filling the coolant that would cost around $1500, b) replace the entire system which would cost about $5000-7000, or c) get some window units to get by that would cost about $200 and do just fine for what I neded. Hr didn't try to "upsell" me or anything... just gave me some honest options. I chose to go with the window units which saved me a BUNDLE and work just fine. THANK YOU Tex-Perts!!!

These folks are great! I have an older home. When the air conditioner was added in 1983, the put it upstairs and added an upstairs loft around it! It was extremely challenging just to look at the unit. My fan motor was out. the told me the would look for a part to replace it - this was not made any more. I then asked how old the unit was. they told me. I realized that I was having to do do some expensive repair every year, and asked for a quote on a new air conditioner. I got a very fair quote and work started next day. They had to take down a wall, but it was done very well and very quickly. I have a warrantee and they found a contractor to fix the damage that HAD to be done to get the old unit out. I am very very pleased with the quality and professionalism of the work. the owner was in contact with me several times to make sure I was pleased. Every thing promised was delivered. I would highly recommend these folks to anyone.

The installation team arrived on time and 7 hours later the system wa up and running. It was a difficult installation for the heating unit is houses in a small hall closet but they were able to get the old furnace out and install the new one with a great deal of care. I was amazed at the amount of work involved and the quality of the installation with new insalation around the furnace and the use of much lots of materal to seal everything. Out side a new pad was inatalled and the wiring was enclosed in protective covering. The only thing remaining to be done is more dirt arond the pad to level the ground. The too man team did an excelent job and left the area clean and neat. The owner shows a great deal of concern that things are done right. This si an outstanding company with fair prices and great products.

This will be long, so bare with me as I think it is important to understand what I went through. I recently bought a house that had a 5 ton unit. Soon after I bought it, I noticed water leaking into the emergency drain pan. I called 2 other vendors before Tex-Perts, which almost cost me a lot of money. The first vendor did diagnose the issue saying I have a static pressure issue, but said they could not fix it without replacing all my ductwork in the house or the entire a/c system. The other was the largest a/c company in San Antonio and I will never call them again as they had no idea. So, this company that found the issue has great reviews on Angie's list, so I will trust them. I tried calling them asking for a quote on replacing my system and was promised a call back. After 3 times with no call back, I gave up. After researching on Google, Angie's list and my mailers, I found tex-perts. Their service manager came out and did some work and suggested replacing the bypass damper. He was going to consult the owner, Craig and give me a call back the next day. Craig did call me and suggested replacing the bypass damper system, larger plenum and ducts off the plenum. I agreed and the static pressure did drop into normal levels and the pond of water went away. Now, I did have a small leak still. They came back out and found the evap coil had a small leak and they replaced the coil. So, here I am today as they just left and I am pretty sure my problems are gone. As just buying a new house, my expenses were pretty great already. They have saved me over 10k from buying a new unit like the previous company suggested. It is rare to find a honest company in San Antonio, but this is one of the few. I cannot express how much I appreciate them. Keep up the good work.

I called Tex-Perts after reading all of the positive comments on Angie's List and boy was I not disappointed! My initial contact with the receptionist/ scheduler was warm, friendly, and professional. Today Andy came to perform the service to my AC. He arrived well within the 2 hour time frame and was also friendly, professional, and courteous. He got right to work on the upstairs attic and pointed out what he was going to do as well as a few minor problems. Next he went to the units outside and finished with the AC tune up after thoroughly checking everything that was required. When he was finished he went over everything and explained things perfectly (and patiently!) and answered all of my questions. At the end of the visit I was offered the service special to include a furnace tune up in the fall. The prices are very reasonable and competitive. I never felt pressured to buy. Simply, with the good price and extra incentive of 3lbs of coolant when necessary (didn't need coolant today) I was actually happy to sign up for the service contract. I am so thrilled to finally find a company who is not indifferent to my business. This was a very good experience!

We do a biannual checkup of our heater and air conditioning unit. Tex-Perts came out, arrived ON-TIME, and performed the inspection in an extremely professional manner. Tex-Perts is an excellent provider and we're likely to use their services again.

Tex perts were punctual, professional, honest and reasonably priced. They gave me a an Angies list discount. With those criteria met, this company is hard to beat.

The guys from TEX-PERTS Cooling & Heating were wonderful. I couldn’t be happier. They are professional and on time. They are very knowledgeable. Their prices were good and the quality of work was excellent. Their product is excellent.

All repairs where done fast, the system was up and running within an hour.

Air conditioner did not seem to be cooling properly, and then I noticed some water in a line from the inside unit leading to the far outside wall. I called and George came straight here, as he was leaving La Vernia at that time. He said that the line in the foundation had frozen, and it would have to thaw before he could test to see about the amount of refrigerant. He turned off the ac but left the fan running and returned, first appointment the following morning. He showed me how he weighed the refrigerant container so that he could tell exactly how much he was adding and showed how he determined how much was needed. He said that there was a leak in the coil, and if it was a slow leak, it was okay. If it is a fast leak--if the ac quits cooling again in a couple of months--then coil or unit will need to be replaced. He also cleaned out the line. The charge for this job--$59 for a spring check up, Angie's List special, which includes one free pound of refrigerant, plus the cost of the second pound of refrigerant. Also, Tammy in the office was marvelous! At first, I scheduled for the following morning, as she was able to place me first appointment. I called back and said I'd really feel better having someone that day, and she was able to do that. (I had just had water in the house after the big rain, and the equipment had just been removed when I discovered the water on the floor from the frozen ac pipe in the foundation. Additional water on wood floors was not good.) She was extremely helpful and understanding and worked the miracle of getting almost immediate help. George had done the spring check-up last year and had left a maintenance contract if I wanted to sign up. I'd left that on my desk, delaying. When he came this time, I had to ask for another contract--I definitely am buying, as it is not only a pre-pay for the check-ups but also has additional discounts and warranties. Notice that I had to ask for it--no sales pressure either for that or for an ac replacement. The customer service is superb, and I have confidence in the repairs and diagnoses. I will continue to use this company and to refer it to others.

Perfect is the only word that applies. The house was not cooling properly and the AC unit was running non-stop. It turned out the compressor had gone out again for the 2nd time in 4 years. Edgar was the service-call technician. He gave us good information, explained what was wrong in appropriate-level tech terms, explained what he was doing as he did it, etc. In the end, he did a thoroughly professional job, and better, he made the bad news palatable because we felt we understood what was wrong and what our various options were. We arranged after that to meet with Craig the owner to discuss system options, sales, etc. Craig came by on Friday with options in hand. He looked around and made recommendations. He explained what had probably caused the problems (underpowered original AC unit), explained our options, didn't try to 'sell' us anything, and in fact recommended against some things we thought might need to be done (like extra in-attic and over-garage insulation). Craig is clearly knowledgeable and patient, and we felt clearly understood what we were getting and what it would cost with no surprises. He is also aware of federal and local rebate and tax credits and we feel he gave good advice regarding those programs. San Antonio had very severe flooding Saturday the 25th, when the installers were supposed to be here, but Craig still called and asked if we could postpone until the next day or Monday (Memorial Day). It turned out there wasn't much choice actually because the weather just got worse. Still, the installation team arrived promptly at 9am on Sunday, the 26th ready to go. They were thorough, professional, clearly knowledgeable, quick, tidy, and friendly. They were done by around 1:30pm, and when they left there was almost no clean up needed except what one would expect from stirring up insulation and dust in the attic, replacing an 8 year old interior fan unit, and so on. Consider too that the inside work was done in the carpeted upstairs hall of a 2-story house, and that the yard was wet and muddy in the area where the outside unit is! As to the product, the new unit is more neatly installed than the original, and is both quitter and more efficient--it runs less than the old one did even before it broke. We also REALLY like the digital (Honeywell) controller. It is easy to use and I don't need to find my reading-glasses to use it. More important, it holds the temperature we want and it can be set for both heat and cold so it stays within the range we want it to. That's it really. Again, the only word that applies is perfect.

Purchased a Big deal for TEX-PERTS Cooling & Heating. They did a 24 point tune up and added 1 pound of freon to the system.Very satisfied with the work done. They were efficient, on time, and explained the work in detail.

Everything went well. They arrived when they said they would.

The representative arrived within the time limit set up. He performed all work quickly and efficiently.

It went as expected, the technician check the whole system and did not try to sell us on unnecessary services.

I called TEX-PERTS around 3PM to come out to Boerne to check on my grandfather's A/C that quit working. My grandfather had been very sick and we needed the A/C fixed promptly as it was getting late in the day. A technician from TEX-PERTS arrived around 4PM and had the A/C up and running by 5PM. I was concerned that we would have to pay an overtime rate if we weren't able to get a technician out until late that day. Luckily with TEX-PERTS they don't charge extra if the work goes on into the evening. Thanks to Craig (owner) for the prompt courteous service!
