He checked the HVAC unit in my attic and outdoors. He found an air leak, which he sealed with lots of tape. Also put in some freon and cleared the grass surrounding the bottom of the a/c so that he could do a more thorough inspection. Great job.

After having another A/C contractor come out for an annual tune-up that ended up being simply a pitch to replace my entire AC system to the tune of $8,000 to $12,000, I contacted Tex-Perts. I sent them an email on Sunday evening and received a call at 8:45 am Monday to schedule a service call. We settled on 9:30 and the technician (Jess) arrived at 9:15. He reviewed the list of items provided by the previous technician and proceeded to perform his own assessment. He discovered that the capacitor was blown (which had to have been noticed by the previous technician) and stated that while the system is a bit old (13 years) it is still performing well within manufacturer's guidelines. He replaced the capacitor ($249) and I purchased their annual maintenance contract ($120) so that I would receive service in May and November in addition to discounts on repairs and parts. When I do finally replace my system, I will definitely use Tex-Perts and I hope that Jess does the installation!

This was a Big Deal purchase. Work was performed by George Damian. He arrived within the agreed timeframe, worked in an effective and efficient manner and did a thorough check and clean up of all system equipment. I was very happy with the service he provided and would recommend this company.

Purchased service for tenant; maybe I was expecting too much. When the statement "clean" is made I expect certain things to get done. In the end I probably should have asked more questions. I purchased an additional package through them for the AC to get both AC and furnace done at the same time; for a cost of an traditional 120 in which a pound of freon was added to the tenants unit. I was given a service call to another unit in which the service fee was waived. Professionalism was excellent, and so was punctuality.

I purchased the Big Deal for $49 and was able to schedule the service the same week. Scheduling was quick and easy. On the day of the appointment, the technician was running late, but the office kept me informed and called me when the technician was on his way. Jesse did a good job of checking the system and ensuring it was operating correctly. He was friendly and professional.

We were very pleased with them. I did get a discount. Evidently, they are 24 hours 7 seven days a week and I didn't know that or I would have called them Saturday night. I have waited until early Monday morning and they said they'd be out after lunch and when I told them I had an appointment and wouldn't be home till about two, they said perfect, they'd come after three and there were here at 3:05, and that's when they told me that I could have called them and they would have come out on Sunday. I'm real pleased with them. He offered me a discount and it turned out that the Angie's discount was more so we used the Angie's. This is not the first time we've used them, we've used them several times before and that's why we called them back. They did call me to notify me that they were on their way.

Tex-perts sent a technician to check out our unit and provided us with a diagnosis. The technician arrived on time and was very cordial. The office coordinator who kept in touch with us was very pleasant and attentive.

Disconnect with scheduling on part of office staff resulting in some delay in getting the job done. Have concerns with the amount of weeds that are appearing in new sod. They are scheduled to spray for weeds. Will have to wait to see if it takes care of the problem.

Based on reviews I had seen here, on Angie's List, I called Tex-Perts on Monday morning (4/28/14) to see if they could come out to work on my AC because it had not been cooling. They said they could send someone out that afternoon and I was given a window of a technician showing up between 1:00 and 4:00. I received a call at 2:00 that George would be there at 2:30. George showed up on time and was very professional. He immediately noticed that the fan wasn't running and that it was most likely that the motor was the issue. He went ahead and checked the capacitor and Freon to rule those out. He gave me two options of replacing the motor; I could go with a universal motor, which would work fine and cost less, or I could go with a motor specific to my brand of unit, which would also work fine, but cost more. I opted for universal motor. He didn't pressure me either way and he said he had a universal motor in his truck and that he could fix it right then. He worked for about 30 minutes and was done. I finally felt cool air coming through the vents in my house, which was a nice change from the 80+ degree air that had been coming in earlier. Overall, George did a great job and it was, honestly, the happiest I've been to spend $585.00 on anything (after sweating it out for a few days in a hot house, that amount of money is a small price to pay for comfort). I will gladly use Tex-Perts again in the future.

I was thrilled with the service ! George was professional and friendly. He found the problem right away and had what he needed. I was the most impressed that he did not try to sell me anything extra. Almost every other technician that has come out (about once a year) has told me that my system is old and will need to be replaced "soon" (starting about 5 years ago) and I'd better do it as soon as possible. He did not say that and I really appreciated it. I will definitely use them again!

He gave details on how to make your unit more effective, how the unit works, and what could be done to improve function on unit.

They were very professional. They came within the time given. They did exactly what they came to do and didnt charge anything extra.

On one of the hottest days of the year (so far) our 12 yr old AC was not cooling. Called on a Sunday afternoon, fully expecting to get a recording. Answering service said someone would call us back. We got a call back within 30 min and service tech said he could come from San Antonio to New Braunfels. He was here within 45 min. George arrived, very professional and friendly. He didn't complain about having to navigate through the bed of sticky rosebushes to get to the AC unit. He suggested that it might be to our advantage to purchase a service contract for $150.00 since the "old" freon is so expensive and the contract allows for 3 lbs of freon plus maintenance checks. We readily agreed as we want to have it checked annually. He also checked in the attic and found a very small leak which he said would probably be OK for now. We were very pleasantly surprised that they would come on such short notice and on a Sunday afternoon! George was very pleasant, not pushy, and we felt he was very honest about his assessment of our problem. We will probably need to replace the unit within the next year or so, and will definitely use Tex-Perts!

When I found some shingle pieces on the ground I got up on the roof to see that some critter had been ripping them off to try to get into the attic. I called ABS to come out and see what was happening. They came out and did a thorough inspection then showed me what was happening. Apparently, we had allowed our red tips to grow to long and that allowed roof rats to get up to our roof and burrow into our attic. He showed me the trails and signs of the rodent activity in the attic, then explained that the holes in the top of the roof were not from the roof rats, but were from raccoons trying to get in to get the roof rats. He detailed how they would get rid of these critters and keep them out. One of there techs, Bo, came out and immediately did another inspection to make sure that they covered everything. He then sealed all of the entry points and then he place all of the traps. We discussed what he had done and what was next. There were two more visits by the techs to check the traps. On the final visit, Bo checked all of the traps and explained that the traps would be staying. Our house is rodent free! Great crew at ABC they are friendly and thorough!

Tech found a minor problem and repaired it. Then found a switch that was burnt and showed it to me, saying it was OK for now, but would probably fail sometime this year. He didn't pressure me to make the repair then. But, we all know how these things fail on the hottest day of the year, on a Sunday with relatives visiting. He had a replacement switch on his truck. So I made the preemptive strike & asked him to replace it. It added $190 to the call, but saved me an emergency extra visit later this year. Tech was nice, professional, efficient, not pushy. Highly recommended.

Edgar was very friendly and helpful. He was respectful and nice. He gave me several tips about A/C maintenance and answered all of my questions about both the repairs he made as well as prior repairs from other companies. Would definitely use this company again for A/C repair work.

We were so pleased with the professionalism of each person we met from ABC. They gave us an estimate, explained what they would do, and even added "for free" checking our sprinkler heads. We have just moved to San Antonio so we are having to learn about how dry it is here and what is best to do to help your lawn maintain moisture. My daughter has used this company for a few years and highly recommended them. I know we are going to like them too. So far each person who has come has been on time and has done exactly what they said they would do! I'm happy!

We spent $79 for the first call and $8,000 for the A/C installation. I never got the 20 point tune-up in this deal. We called this company because of their great reviews on Angie's List. They came out to look at our system, when I called to make the appointment they told us to be sure to get the coupon on Angie's List. They told us that it was a $400 mother board in the system, there was mildew and rust in the system. We decided to consider replacing it. We paid him for the service call and the $400 charge for the motherboard. We decided to replace the system with them 4 days later. We never ended up using this Big Deal. They did a good job, they just did their final walk-through and inspection yesterday. They were responsive and professional.

Showed up promptly. Very accommodating and professional. Did not try to sell anything additional. We will use them again.

The service manager personally paid me a visit and handled the job himself which really impressed me. He was punctual, courteous, well-priced, professional, honest, and up front. He was quick with his diagnosis and laid out some options for us. He also chatted awhile and provided us with useful information on A/C units. I would highly recommend this company and their services to anyone and I plan on using Tex-Perts to solve any of my cooling/heating issues or needs. -Andrew Leal

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were great and they did a great job. They were pretty prompt in coming out. I paid additional for a piece that I needed. It was about $80 more but it was really reasonable. I really liked their professionalism. I work out of town so much and I had told them when I would be in town. They did the work in the specific time that I needed them to be there. They were very professional. I bought their regular maintenance contract as well. I expect to pay a whole lot more for the work they did so they were pretty reasonable. I will absolutely use them again.
