Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal to have my heat pump checked out before the cooling season starts. I was not having any problems with the heat pump prior to servicing. The service techs completely checked my heat pump system inside and out. They found that it was low about one pound on coolant and I had them replace it. The tech explained that if I signed up for a 1 year service contract that it would cost less than paying for the coolant separately, as it would include refilling the coolant plus they would come out again in the fall and reinspect for the winter heating season. This was a no-brainer to me, so I signed up. They also recommended that I have a starter kit installed on the heat pump so as to make the heat pump last longer before major repairs were necessary. I decided to put this off until later in the year.

He flushed our our system and put in the freon and it seems to be working better.
Description of Work: They came out and determined that we need freon. Therefore, we had no use for the big deal we purchased. We had to purchase a maintenance agreement for $120 in order to get freon added. It would have been nice if they would have applied our $49 to the maintenance agreement.

Tex-Perts did a good job for me but they are horrible expensive. I discussed this with the GM and he said too bad we don't adjust our prices. The Story: Tex-Perts came out and service my air conditioner and told me that my drip pans are rusting and should be replaced. They said that it would cost me $255 each but there is a lot of work to doing the job. I was home that day and I helped the technician. He brought with him 2 drip pans (about $80 in value) and one water sensor worth about $35 and within 1 hour he was able to remove the 2 old drip pans and install the new ones and the value sensor. They charged me $522 for this work. Yes they quoted the job but I thought it would be a 3+ hour job. When I complained they said that it piece work pricing based on the industry average. I don't mind paying for a service call and full retail for the parts but I HATE GETTING RIPPED OFF. I argued with the GM and he told me that there isn't anything he could do. The price is the price. He told me that he offers a cheap price to the market place for the maintenance call just to find problems like mine so that he can charge piece work pricing. I'm so annoyed with Tex-Perts that I told them that I'm going to tell the market place about their tactics and I will let the market decide if they're willing to get ripped off like this.

During the customers spring tune ups my technician found that both of the systems in his home and secondary drain pans in his attic that were rusted through. My technician quoted the owner a price and the customer agreed to have the work done. No mention of an exact time was given to the customer for the work to be completed. The customer fails to realize that the total cost included time not spent in his home and labor from other employees not in his house. The price also included the professional knowledge of installing these items correctly. Knowing how to wire something in properly without shorting out a transformer and not drilling a hole into his evaporator coil has value whether he chooses to believe so or not. Proving our customers with employees who have passed backround checks and drug testing policies costs more than hiring a general handyman. When the owner spoke with my service manager he was given an additional discount which he failed to mention. If he was so concerned with the price he could have gotten another opinion or chosen not to do the work. We could have undone the work and left it as it was. After we leave the house we have no ability to do this. I checked with several other companies before writing this review and all were higher that the price that the home owner paid. My service manager did not tell him that we offer "cheap tune ups to rip people off". We offer fair and up front pricing that includes enough profit margin to operate a professional business with after hours and weekend services. Not good at all. Estimator came out and we went over everything I wanted done. We also discussed a maintenance service for weed/feed of my lawn. I requested my estimate be a line-item proposal. When I received my estimate it was a lump sum estimate and included items I did not request. Also, it did not include any of the information regarding the maintenance service. I requested the estimate be resubmitted in line-item format. Once this was received, I was told the dump fees were included in each line item. This estimate still included items not requested and did not include the maintenance items or cost. I again requested the items I had not requested be removed and the estimate be corrected and sent again. The items not requested totaled approximately $175. When the new estimate was received, it did drop a approximately $50 and now had dump fees listed as a line item. Now, the items I had requested which were on the previous estimate had dump fees included. These same items on the latest estimate had not changed in price so the dump fees were still included. The dump fees were also added as a separate line item causing this to bill me twice for dump fees. When I called this to the estimators attention, he said that was the estimate and it would not change. Little does he know he not only lost this small job but also lost a job to clear 5 acres. Double billing is never OK.

They did mention that the coil needed to be cleaned. He gave me an estimate on how much it would be. He also gave me some things to look out for in the future. They came out as soon as they could after I got the Big Deal. They came out and checked the unit. I wasn't there so I'm not sure what all they did. He called and said it was too dirty and needed to be cleaned separate and gave me an estimate for it.

Currently they are working outside as I speak to replace the unit. I will follow up after it all over, but so far they seem to be doing a good job. Update - After it was all over with, I had my brother take a look and he said that is kind of high what they did for you. My research now indicates that that was pretty high. I was provided with a very general receipt with just the total. They requested that I send an email and I sent a very detailed email. I found that the AC unit I got was actually $900. I questioned this and the owner called me back while I was at work and busy trying to explain the charges. He insisted it would be really quick, but I dont think this is a quick call. I requested that he provide me with an email reply of what entailed $3,185. He then told me that they were having trouble with the email and could not email this. I want an email response to my questions about the service I received and the charges I incurred. The guys were professional and friendly and I appreciated the work, but I deserve a response and explanation of the charges and service. UPDATE: APRIL 29, 2015 We have still not received a detailed invoice per our request. I am now disputing the charges with American Express and they have put a hold on me having to pay AMEX until they take care of this. Let me start off by saying that my goal is not to cause issues, pay any less that what is fair. My issue is the way the process was handled. The techs were professional and I have and had no problems with them. It is Craig the owner who refuses to send me a "DETAILED INVOICE". Also as for Good Friday, we were never told that they were doing a favor for us so please Craig don't insult us. I am sure I paid for it with the amount you charged. Again you should have be up front on all accounts. This detailed invoice is vital to protect me from any future problems and the short version of the invoice will not. Mr. Craig Tuffelmire will not provide a detailed invoice for services. You called me and I asked you to respond only via email as I am very busy but you could not respect that and you continue to call me and text me. You are harassing! It is not advisable to talk on the phone as details get lost, words gets miscommunicated so emails are valid as we take the time to word properly what we need to say and even sometimes we don?t always say it right. So emails are the best way, it protects both of us. I am not trying to lower the price, I am trying to understand what I paid for that is quite high and a detailed invoice will help me understand what I paid for. The customer was scheduled for a 3 system tune up. My technicians arrived on time and found that one of the units was not working. The customer was given options about replacement. He agreed to the price and signed off to have the work done the next day. He was not charged anything extra for the work to be performed on Good Friday. I personally picked up and delivered the new outdoor unit to his home. When I arrived my technician Edgar had the old unit ready to be removed. We physically lifted the old unit and the new unit over 2 other condensing units. My technician finished the work as agreed upon and according to all manufacturing procedures. The owner signed off on the work saying that he was happy and that the work had been performed properly. The following Monday I received a message from the home owner that he was unhappy with the price. I called him to follow up at which time he told me he was too busy to talk to me and that he would send me an email. The following day I received an email with his concerns and complaints. I responded but he did not get my email due to a technical issue. I found out about this on Thursday and called him immediately upon receipt of his next email. When I called him I left a professional message. I then resent the email from my phone which was not having issues. After not hearing back from the customer for several hours I tried to call him to go over his issues and confirm that he had read my email. He texted me back to tell me he was too busy to talk to me. He then went on a tirade texting me about 20 times over the course of 30 minutes. Moving onto his actual concern. Although he found a unit online that could be shipped to him that cost did not include shipping and handling or installation. My price was a turn key price. That price includes procuring the unit, installation done by professional licensed technicians, all associated parts and material and a warranty. My prices also include like any other professional business people to answer the phones, time spent doing paperwork, use of vehicles and insurance. If he was concerned about the price it should have been brought up before the work was done. Sending me threatening emails and text messages does not make me want to give him further discounts. He contacted Angie's List and they found that we had not done anything wrong which he fails to comment on. At no point did his hvac professional relative contact me with any concern. He is attempting to live up to the threats he made of slandering me and my company. He is also attempting to cancel the credit card transaction and therefore not pay for service and goods rendered. The design work was fabulous. I was happy with the end result. They didn't dig very deep when they planted though. I saw one of the workers looking in my back door window. Two weeks later, my house was broken into. Really strange coincidence. I really like the office person who helped me. She's very helpful and responsive to emails. The day they are to do the work I had to go to the hospital. I did not arive home until Mon & saw that they had not done what I contracted them to do. The sage bushes were not trimmed down 2 feet & the pompous grass was 4 feet tall. I immediately called Tony & explained to him I was unhappy with the service and what was wrong. He said that the sage bushes was his fault because they did not understand how far to trim them and he gave them the wrong information. He said he would have them out the following day to correct everything. Of course no one showed up the following day and when I tried to call Tony again he did not answer his phone nor returned my phone call. I then tried calling the company & was transferred to Quality Control where I was told to leave my phone number & someone would call me right back. Never received a call back from them either. I guess once they get your money they do not care if they provide the service you paid for or not.
Description of Work: I called the company to trim some shrubs in my flower bed. They sent a Rep out by the name of Tony Grren. He had come out last year and never turned my proposal in but I thought I would give him another chance . I explained to him exactly what I wanted. The sage bushes trimmed & take 2 feet off the top, my pompous grass cut down to a foot from the ground & the rest of the trees just trimmed. How hard is that to understand ? I wrote up the proposal & I signed it & payed for it.
