pretty good until the furnace circuit breaker broke, but luckily there was a redundant one so they just removed the old one. I'll still replace the old one, but it will be about 65$ for that circuit breaker. They told me that the ac is working fine but it still sounds like to me that its working hard to cool my little house.

Well I was going to see everything the tech was doing, he was friendly and he showed me and explained what he was doing and I liked that. He had a nice company truck that looked like he had everything he needed. He took good care of my units and handled them well. Overall good experience.

The service technicians put "up to" one pound of freon. They do not put in a full pound if it is not needed. Too much freon causes cooling problems just like not enough freon. I am glad you had a very good experience overall.

They had very high ratings on Angies List and in the area. I had a coupon for $59 to do a 24 hour inspection of the system. The gentleman came out and did a good job. He showed up on time and I had a couple of alert calls reminding about when they were coming. He cleaned up the coil, inspected the system, corrected the duct work and gave the information about the system; including the manufacturing date, etc. The price seemed fair and the coupon was a good deal. They agreed for any additional work to be done.

They came, worked, went over the findings, and answered the few questions we had, all in about 45 minutes max. We received a written statement, that was not legible (print, handwriting, and carbon copy), so worth not much but the reminder of them coming out. They "had to" provide us with their service agreement offer for 120.00/year for two service checks/year, but we're not pushy about it after that. NOTE: I give ratings as they are defined. An A means something outstanding, above the ordinary, or simply excellent. A B means all went well as expected, no surprises, neither positive, nor negative.
Description of Work: Angies List Deal for a 24 point A/C tune-up. The two service men came punctually and worked quick and efficiently. Very minor adjustments had to be made and the A/C was determined to run ok. They blew out the overflow tube, cleaned the outside unit, recognized that the filters were new/clean, checked the fuses for connectivity and verified voltage. Outstanding service. The where running behind on the arrival but did call to inform us of their ETA. The serviceman was very polite and professional. Serviced both A/C units,refilling #2 of refrigerant, checking on the vent flow issue was completed just over an hour during the hottest time of the day. The cost include the Angie's List discount and #2 of refrigerant, I feel was reasonable knowing the cost of refrigerant $ is expensive.

I purchased an Angie’s List Big deal for $59 24-Point AC Tune-up. The service member was at our house just over 60 minutes. He recommended we replace an operable, 2 pole 40 amp contactor he described as pitted and burnt. My wife agreed to the service and called me; I asked her to ensure she kept the part. I was completely surprised to learn we were charged $184 (on top of the $59 already spent on the big deal) for this part readily available for between $6-$20 (I found it on-line for $5.30). I will allow for labor but I cannot imagine TEX-PERTs charged $320/hour for labor (inferring it took roughly the same amount of time to back out several screws and replace this part as it did to complete the 24 point AC inspection- about 30 minutes each?). Essentially, Tex-perts billed and were paid $225 for $20 in unnecessary parts and one hour labor purchased at a presumed discount from Angie’s List. We were duped, buyer beware. As an aside, if anyone needs a serviceable 2 pole 40 amp contactor I have a spare one now.

I contacted and spoke with the homeowner. I asked him several questions about his experience. His complaint is truely about price. We showed up on time and performed the tune up as agreed upon. I asked him why he authorized the work to be performed if he did not feel comfortable about the price. He could not come up with an answer for this. I offered to refund his money in full, stating that I would personally come out while he watched me and remove the part and reinstall the part that he claims was not damaged. He refused. I do not believe that I need to justify all of my expenses in owning and operating a business every time that someone questions the price book that we have established but I did try. I asked the homeowner if he had contacted any other companies in the area to see what they charge for the same part and he said no. I told him that we would have to agree to disagree about our prices. I regularly talk to several other business owners in my industry both locally and nationally and find my prices to be below the median price on average. I make sure that most any repair can be done with what each technician has available to them in the service vehicle that they drive. They do not need to drive back and forth to parts supply houses and pick up those repairs. I warranty those parts for a full year of parts and labor not just 30 days like most of my competitors. Most repairs do not take hours because of our investment in great technicians and superior training. I have a 24 hour answering service so that we can warranty the work and get a technician to the home asap. This homeowner had a part that the technician thought was a potential problem. He was confident enough to leave the part with the homeowner. He performed the repair as agreed upon. I offered to come and inspect the part and the homeowner declined.

They came, evaluated, and fixed the problem. They sprayed a biodegradable spray; and they conduct it every two months to re-treat every problem. When I saw something that they missed because it's under a sandbox, they came and treated it right away.

Everything went very smoothly. We were replacing an old system that kept breaking down. We were getting it fixed through a home warranty company so the cost was not a problem, but it was very annoying and inconvenient to have breakdowns 2-3 times a summer. We researched brands through Consumers Reports and other sites we found on Google, checked Angie's List , the BBB and the Trane website and narrowed down the companies we chose for bids. Tex-Pert had the best combination of: price, training, 24/ 7 service, and good reputation that we were seeking. The owner personally answered all my calls and questions and came to our house to give the estimate. He was very knowledgeable and gave us good advice. He was not pushy and did not try to sell us a more expensive unit than would serve our purposes. Once we made our decision to use Tex-Pert, they scheduled us quickly and the installation went smoothly. The workmen were immaculate and polite. It was over 105 degrees out that day and hotter in our attic. A week later I called and asked if they could "tweek" the system a little for us. The owner came by to check it and had his crew there to take care of it the same day. They are filing the CPS rebate papers for us. I plan to use them again when the equipment for the other zone in our house is ready to be replaced.
Description of Work: We replaced the AC and gas heating system for one of the two zones of our home. We also had the thermostat replaced with one that is digital. Vents to two rooms were replaced with wider ones, and one register was replaced. They took away the old system and cleaned up after the work was completed.

He did the A/C service. Then then power went out, and I so I called him back to check on it. He returned, looked at it, and explained that it was actually one of the nails from some high school kids who were learning how to do siding. He was very patient and gracious in explaining the problem and showing them how to prevent from doing that in the future. I was really impressed by him. And he didn't charge me for coming back out, which I thought was also very nice of him.

,A/C quit at about 2:30pm , cked Angie's list an Tex-Perts had very favoriable reviews, called them and they said they could have someone out this same evening, at 8:30, Edgar called and verified the address and said he would be right over, Edgar arrived and quickley check the A/C and determined that the capacitor went out, he also suggested since the unit was 10yrs old that it may be a good idea to install a "slow start" on the compressor. I agreed, complete repair took about 30mins and A/C was up and running again. I am very satifisfied with the service provided by Edgar and Tex-Perts

We have used this company for over 10 years and each time they come out, they remind us why because of how courteous and thorough they are in our home. Just about every time they come, I call the company to explain how grateful we are that companies like theirs exist. They came after 4:00 because my wife and I work. Called and left a message around 6:30 am. I was called back before 8:00 to inform me that an AC service technician would be calling to schedule a time to stop by. The technician, George, arrived on time. George was very professional and explained the repair and maintenance details required to get our AC back up and running again. George performed all the repairs, work and offered advise to help my AC running efficiently. George is a true professional and an asset to Tex-Perts. I'll surely call them again for any future AC repairs/maintenance and when it's time to replace my 13 year old AC/Heating system.

I called and spoke with the owner, Craig, late in the afternoon. Craig provided a verbal quote, and sent his service technician out within 2 hours. The technician quickly diagnosed, and quickly replaced the inoperable fan motor. Upon replacement, he also discovered that a contactor needed replacement, as it was making noise. ThatHe was very professional, and the complete repairs were done within an hour and a half. Got the heat pump going, and it was cooling the house that evening. added to the repair price, but was completely understandable.

Achieved part of the requested results; largely a neutral (not great, not bad) experience.
Description of Work: The technician arrived on time in response to a request for the $59.99 A/C check-up offer. He listened to a description of the problems (no cooling, low-volume fan running continuously) and began work on the outside unit. In addition to a low coolant reading (near zero), a problem was found with the capacitor. This was replaced at added cost. After checking for coolant leaks in the condenser the technician attempted to restart the unit which resulted in a burnt-out fan motor. We discussed what the additional cost would be, and the motor was replaced with some difficulty. The old rotor was cut off to move the original fan blade to the new motor. After another restart the cooling unit worked. The techician did not check the temperature in the interior of the house until asked to do so. When asked about the problem with the low-volume fan (still runs continuously) the technician replied his boss indicated this would likely be a problem with the mother-board of the interior unit. As repairs were already at several times the anticipated cost no further work was requested.

Everyone at Tex-Perts is prompt, proficient, and professional. In the beginning, Mrs. Tuffelmire worked the phone and even assisted us in getting the MFG rebate to be processed & mailed out. I am satisfied with Craig and his company. His service technicians are conscientious and would put coverings over shoes to protect the carpet. Craig stands behind the unit he sold and provides services, including warranty, promptly. As of June 2012, we recevied all the free tune-ups but we will call on Tex-Perts to perform future maintenance on our York unit.
Description of Work: On July 31, 2010, our old Trane 5 ton A/C Heating unit stopped cooling on a hot summer day. We called Tex-Perts and spoke to Craig, who just started up the company. Craig came out promptly to assess the issue. Craig sold us on a new 5 ton, variable speed, high efficiency York Affinity Split System with 10 years Parts & Labor warranty to replace the old unit. At the time, Tex-Perts wasn't a qualified technician for GVEC rebate so we couldn't get any but we did get $1000 MFG rebate along with Federal rebate. After agreeing on price, the next day Craig came out with his crews and started working. He showed up promptly in the morning with the new unit. They worked hard throughout the simmering day. Carpet was lined to protect from traffics during installation inside the house. By late afternoon, they finished installation, removed old unit, testing new unit and our house was cooled again. They cleaned up after themselves. Craig installed a new touch sensitive thermostat unit. We were very happy with the service. The York Affinity runs differently than the old Trane unit. It would start up and often kick into high gear and the noise from that is noticeable but that seems to be the way it works. In December 2010, the York stopped heating. We called and get a warranty service on the unit. Jose came out to inspect it and found a defective compressor harness that needs to be replaced. Almost a month later in January 2011, Jose returned with a replacement harness and got the unit to work again. We received a few "free" tune-ups from the purchase of the new York unit. With each tune-ups, we received a call to schedule an appointment. We get reminder call prior to the service date. If there were delays, PJ would call to inform us.

I looked in Angies List and selected Texperts based on the number of positive reviews. When I called the office, the receptionist was able to schedule me within a day (I told them this was not an emergency and did not need the same day I called). I was given a 2 hr window for the appointment and also asked for a heads-up call when the serviceman was en route. George called about a half hour before he arrived and was within the time they gave me. The service truck was clean. George had on his uniform, introduced himself and was very professional and polite. He quickly determined that we were about 1.5 lbs short on refrigerant and that the fan blade and motor were bad (but within warranty). He added the coolant said that he would need to order the motor and blade. He was very patient as he explained and showed me everything and wrote up the bill. Less than a week later on Wed we scheduled the condenser part repair. Edgar provided the service this time and likewise was professional, polite and very patient in explaining and fixing the motor and blade and checked to make sure no coolant had leaked. My wife and I are extremely impressed with how quickly we could be scheduled for a service call, how professional and polite the service techs were, including wearing 'booties' when coming inside the house, the clean/undamaged service truck, the quickness of diagnosis and repairs, and the fact that George and Edgar cleaned up/picked up everything when they were done and gave us a fair price. I'm extremely pleased and determined to sign up for an annual service/maintenance plan. I'll be recommending this company to my coworkers and friends. EB
Description of Work: Checked air conditioning unit because our air conditioner seemed to be running all day long, but the thermostat was set at 80. This was the first time the A/C unit had been checked since home purchase in 2008. The serviceman determined that we were about 1.5 pounds short on refrigerant. Also the condenser blade was out of balance as could be seen in the slight wobble when running and the motor was leaking slightly as could be seen from the oil stain.

The service men called and arrived promptly at agreed time.They checked the unit in the attic and reported it was in good shape.The outside unit was cleaned and checked to a good report.Inside the house one service man looked at the intake areas and adjusted some brackets to hold the filters tight.The unit was only 2 1/2 years old and we just wanted to make sureeverything was in good shape. They didn't seem to do much work. He put an amp meter on a few wires and said everything was working ok, which I already knew to start witth. He said the fan motor on the compressor was going out. He did spray water on the cooling piece but I could have did myself. It wasn't too much of a value, as I thought it was a waste of money for the work being done.

I have left several messages for this home owner but have not had a response yet. After reading the service ticket I am satisfied that the technician did the complete check list for this home. He was at the home for 47 minutes which is close to the average time for one home with one system. He performed the maintenance and made suggestions to 2 repairs that were not necessary but that may be potential problems. I am not sure what the home owner would like to see accomplished, or what might help to appease them.

Had them service our two AC units. One was leaking, and the condensation was coming out the overflow pipe. Although I had poured bleach down the pipe, the condensation kept coming. The technician was able to clear a clog in the pipe, and all was well. They had also replaced our condenser coils 2 years ago. On time, clean and professional!
