Tom is extremely fair, punctual, professional, detail oriented and easy to work with. You cannot beat his prices (window cost + $100 a window for installation). I wish we would have known about him when we first started our window project. We could have done our enitre project for the cost of what another company charged us for 3 windows. I recommend Tom and Southern Pride to all our friends.

Tom was easy to work with, well organized, and really knows what he is doing. He is master certified, and has several years of experience, so we had a lot of confidence in him. Things to consider: He uses ProVia doors, which are expensive, and he charges about $50 more than others for installation. Also, the doors are ordered to your specifications and take a couple of weeks to come in, so keep that in mind for planning purposes. We went above our budget, but the doors look GREAT, are of excellent quality, are very secure, and will definitely last. Overall, it was worth it, and we would absolutely use this company again.

It went very well over all. Although the price seemed high the quality was there, and I would not hesitate to call Tom again.

My back door was sticking very badly and needed to be replaced. Tom came out to give me a quote on the day I called him, and was willing to schedule for the evening when I could get home from work. He gave me a couple of options for fixing the sticking the door, from spending ~$200 to just fix the existing one, to replacing the door completely. He was willing to work on the spot to fix it, but I decided to replace the door altogether. Tom followed up within 24 hours with a quote by email, and we agreed to have the work done beginning at 7am on a Saturday (two days after I had initially called him). His flexibility on time and willingness to work on a weekend were much appreciated. Tom was very clear on what work he was going to complete, and did a great job of updating me as the work went along, and any decisions that had to be made. He removed the old door and jambs, and replaced it fully with a new door and jambs, all in about four hours. Great job making sure that everything fit exactly right and he and Justin also cleaned everything up afterwards. One of the best experiences I have had with any contractor in Dallas.

The estimate was free of cost. I was real impressed with the whole experience. What they were selling was a little more than what I was wanting at this time. They spent a lot longer than I was expecting going over everything that they needed and all of that. They were very personable. I was really impressed but it’s just that I was looking for something which was a little different than what they were providing. They were selling certain kind of doors and I was kind of looking for something like the regular type. Their product appeared to be very good but it was just not what I was looking for. They were very impressive. They were very thorough and very nice. They were very informative. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. I was really impressed. I was just not looking for that particular product. I think that they were very good and I was very impressed with them. It just wasn’t the product that I needed. They had very good stuff and I was just fixing up my home, and I’m planning to sell it. So I didn’t want to do too much work on it. They will be the first one that I will call if I need something that they have. I will use their services again in the future.

I have used them before as well. They did an outstanding job last week. I am very impressed with them. The last job was a special case and it wasn’t something that they had ever done before. They did a fantastic job and I knew they would. That’s why I hired them. I live in a town house and I have a balcony. The balcony was enclosed with Plexiglas. There were two really small windows; one on each side. We have a great lake view and we really wanted windows so that we could get fresh air. So, the guy had to do quite a bit of trim work because the roof is Plexiglas as well. It then came down to the front. So, he had to cut the Plexiglas and do a lot of wood trim work to trim out for the three large windows. I was a little worried because of the roof being Plexiglas and it was important to support the roof. Southern Pride Openings LLC is a great company. This is the fourth time I used them. The guy spent four hours replacing the door because he had to totally rebuild everything around the door because there was water damage. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

Tom and Justin installed 12 double hung windows for us, five were upstairs. Tom installed a 9 1/2' patio door last month for us and I knew he would do a good job with the new windows. They arrived just before 7 am and finished a little after 7. Then they cleaned up and took all the old windows and left about 8 pm. I have not ever had any other workers that have put in 12 hour days. They stayed with it the whole day and took a short lunch break after one. They are true hard working professionals. The new windows are great. Easy to open and close and block out outside noise. We are extremely happy with the install. I highly recommend this company! It is so nice to see such intergrity in a company.

I called Tom on Thursday about installing the patio door. It was an opening that did not have a previous door. He told me that he could do it on Sat. at 11. He didn't need to come look first, just told me he would charge $300. Paul called this morning when he was on his way and got there before I did. Robbie his assistant came with him and the two of them go the heavy door upstairs and went right to work. They installed sheetrock on end of the door as they had to build out a frame for the door. While installing the door I asked about installing new hardware and dead bolt locks on four exterior doors. Tom said he charges $25 a door and suggested what kind of hardware to buy. I ran to Lowe's and bought the hardware and some moulding for the door. They did an excellent of the door. Its level and slides easily opening and closing. Paul and Robbie also install new windows. Robbie gave me a demostration of the new fantastic windows with a reasonable price including install. I had not planned on getting new windows at this time. Just bought the house and have not moved into it yet and did not know the condition of the existing windows. Found out I really needed new windows now especially before summer. I placed an order for 12 windows today and they will be installed in about two weeks. We're having other work done on the house and wasn't planning on the spending the money now for new windows but after looking at mine closely with storm windows and how good the new ones are, it was an easy decision to go ahead and order the windows. The two are both veterans and I am very happy with them and their work ethics. I highly recommend this company. Honest, hard working, reasonable and pleasant! updating to correct his name. His name is Tom. My painters name is paul and I had confused their names.

I wanted to replace my front door and its side window with a one piece combination wood door with side light. The bigger stores like Home Depot and Lowes would not do this type of work as the door and window that were being removed were not attached and neither company would contract to remove the area in between. I found Southern Pride Openings on the BBB website along with a couple other companies who were rated A+ in the area. Tom was the first to respond to my phone call. He came over to give an estimate after work hours, to my convenience. He was very professional and obviously very knowledgable about door and window installation (even though I did not contract with him to install windows, I had recently had new windows installed by Lowes and he looked over their work). I was very impressed with his professional dimeanor and personality. He is a native of Texas and a family man, which says a lot being that I am a single woman and we have to be careful about who we invite into our homes. He gave me an excellent estimate for the job, better than the cost Lowes or Home Depot would have charged just for a basic installation of a door. Once I decided which door I wanted to have installed, Tom came back out to take measurements and offered to accompany me to Home Depot to purchase the door. He reviewed the purchase order for accuracy before I actually made the purchase and when the door arrived 4 weeks later, I was able to make an installation appointment with him within a week. He was prompt the morning of my appointment. We went to Home Depot together to pick up the door and pick out new trim and door hardware. The installation went beautifully. His measurements were very precise and the door fit the space like a glove! I love my new front door and sidelight combination. Tom will be coming back in the future to replace all my interior doors and replace the trim throughout the house.
