Josh was very, very good! Came at the appointed time, inspected the chimney, fixed the stuck damper, advised us that getting a balloon damper would keep the heat from getting out when not using the fireplace as the damper cannot be closed. That was great as we would have never thought of something like that. He cleaned the dryer vent quickly and gave us an estimate for having the airducts cleaned. Could not have been happier with his performance. We will certainly contact him again for more work. Thank you, Josh!

When I bought a new dryer on Sunday, Sears told me it would be delivered Wednesday. It was late Monday evening before I found time to call to get the vent system cleaned, and I had little hope of getting it done before the new dryer would be delivered. But Josh immediately agreed to arrive first thing Wednesday morning. Sure enough, that's when he showed up. He quickly cleaned the system from top to bottom. He also taped up small cracks in our duct connectors before he left, and left some extra tape for the portion of the connectors that would have to be fitted to the new dryer. He was prompt, thorough, professional, and friendly.

Josh promptly answered my phone call and scheduled the appointment. He was polite, on time and quickly identiifed and fixed the problem. The builder had installed the wrong type of vent cover which Josh took off to show us the problem. Josh suggested we may be able to get the builder to pay for the repairs since the house is only three years old. The service was prompt, did the job, and was a fair value. Josh even asked if I was an Angies member, and gave me a discount which I did not even know about.

He arrived on time, was thorough and knowledgeable. Even in the heat of summer he was willing to work in our attic. Completed the job in a timely manner and was polite and personable.

The dryer vent sensor warning lights were coming on, plus the clothes were taking longer than usual to dry. I found 4:11 Service Company on Angie's List. When I called, Josh asked if the following morning would be a good time to come out to my home. He also asked if I needed him to work me in to his schedule the day I called! I was impressed with his willingness to help me out on a 'same day' appointment. I scheduled him for the following morning at 9:00am. He arrived at about 9:00am and quickly went to work. He looked at my roof dryer vent while still on the ground and told me it appeared there was a screen over the vent (roof/vents replaced after hail damage). He went up on the roof, removed the screen from the vent and it was completely covered in lint (of course). He told me that I should not have a screen over the vent since it was on the roof as it would only serve to trap the lint like it obviously had done. He went up into the attic and came out with a plastic shopping bag full of lint which he had removed from my dryer vent. Since my laundry room is very small and I have front load high efficiency washer/dryer units, I offered to "squeeze" in between the wall and the dryer to remove the dryer vent since I am smaller than Josh. He told me that it wasn't necessary; that he had gotten into smaller places than that before and would handle it for me. He spent more time cleaning out the vent, re-attaching it, and cleaning up. When he left, there was no trace that he had been at my house. After he was finished with the job, he stayed around to answer my questions about cleaning the vents in the entire house. He explained the procedure and alleviated my concerns about damage to the duct system during the cleaning process. He even drew a small diagram on the back of my receipt to explain his method for cleaning vents and the components of my AC/Heating unit. I will definitely call him again for future jobs and would recommend him to my friends and family.

Showed up on time and was done in less than an hour. He performed a full cleaning of our incredibly dirty chimney, including climbing up on the roof of our two-story house and cleaning the chimney cap. Very professional, answered all of my questions in detail, and honored the Angie's list coupon without batting an eye. I would absolutely do business with 4:11 Service Company again. For the curious, he recommended getting your chimney inspected every 50 fires or 5 years.

I was having a hard time figuring out why my dryer wasn't drying my clothing. Josh suggested that the vent might be clogged. He came, checked the dryer hose (shortened that), then cleaned out what is a very long vent to the outside. I was very pleased with his professionalism.

We called 4:11 for a sweep and inspection after the fireplace in our new home in south Austin created enough smoke to set off all of the smoke detectors. Josh responded to our request promptly, and he even gave us a recommendation of what we could check for ourselves (possibly sparing us the expense of having him come out). We did hire him, though, and I'm glad we did. We were able to schedule a visit for the beginning of the week. He was punctual and professional, and I really appreciate that he took the time to answer all of the questions we had. After conducting a thorough inspection (and explaining each thing he was checking for as he did it), he informed me that we did not need to have the chimney swept yet. We were only charged for the inspection, and he even applied the Angie's list discount (even though it's for a sweep). I would definitely use him again. I recommend him highly.

Very professional from the first contact. Gave a quote over the phone and help to it. Suggested I try to fix my problem first to save some money and even told me how I might do that. Very articulate, well spoken, took the time to really educate me, etc.

We bought the house without inspecting the fireplace. But we used it last year anyway. We thought it prudent to have a thorough inspection and sweeping before trying our luck again for a full winter season. Josh arrived exactly on time and did a complete inspection. He even swept out the hearth. He did not charge us for a complete sweep since he said it was okay. We had no idea. He could have swept the chimney and done the inspection charging for both. Instead he was honest and professional. He also honored the Angies List coupon. It's nice to get something done right and pay less than you expected to pay.

I used Mad Hatter Chimney Sweep, Josh from 1995-2000 and was very pleased with his work. He was prompt and cleaned out our chimney quickly and efficently. He made sure to lay down protective drape to keep the area around the fireplace clean. He did a great job and was very personable. We moved and did not have a fireplace for several years, so I have not used him in a while, but I am calling today to set an appointment for my new fireplace. I am sure his new company will be just as good as his old one.

It was about to rain when Josh came, about 30 minutes after I called him. He had another big job, but stopped and checked my roof to see what I needed. He was polite, professional, helpful and honest. I would not have known the difference had he told me I had a much more serious problem. I could not be happier! I will definitely call this company again, and if I have any whiff of a problem with the fireplace, Josh is the man. No more blaring smoke alarms for me.

Josh came out the same day I called. The dryer vent had not been cleaned in a long time. The dryer was vented up through the roof. He cleaned the vent thoroughly and cleaned up when the job was completed. Advised me of how often the vent should be cleaned. The price was very reasonable and service was prompt and thorough. I'll use them again.

I called to schedule a chimney sweeping, and RTR gave us an appointment time the very next day. Josh was our service provider, and he did a great job. He was prompt, courteous and efficient. We have a duplex and I assumed both sides needed to be cleaned, but after quickly inspecting one chimney, he said it did not need to be cleaned. I appreciate such honesty! He cleaned the other side and explained a lot about the workings of the chimney. We will be calling RTR again! Plus, they provided an Angie's List discount.

They were excellent. They were highly rated on the list. They got there exactly when they said they would, were reasonably priced and very professional. They did exactly what I expected from them. I would definitely use them again.

I thought I had heard something fall down the chimney, so after checking Angie's List, I called RTR to come out and check. Josh came out and couldn't see anything in the chimney and also said that it really didn't need to be cleaned (wish was nice). However, my husband and I decided that we would go ahead and have the chimney swept to be sure nothing was there. Josh was very considerate in requesting I put down an old sheet to spare my carpet from his possibly dirty tarp, which I greatly appreciated. He also checked my dryer and noticed that lint was accumulating on my A/C coils, which were close to the vent outside.

I contacted the company and was able to schedule someone within a week of my call. The technician arrived on time, reviewed the work to be done and got right to work. He brought in mats to cover the area where he would be working and just got right to work. He cleaned up the area after he was done. It was fast (about 40 minutes start to finish) and easy.
