Holden Roofing

We had Holden roofing (Grant) come out to give us an initial evaluation of our roof after a hail storm. The original appointment was rescheduled by the employee one time and when he did come on the second day he was late. He checked the roof and due to the fact that he was late we told him that we would have to get back with him to go over the details. We were going on vacation. When we got back from vacation 10 days later we called and left several messages so that we could get together and see what the damage was to the roof. We left our house number and cell numbers. He has never returned our calls.

It went beautifully from start to finish. Charles Stetzel was my point of contact, and he was a pleasure to work with - professional, fair and diligent. He went over every last detail of the project, and the work was completed exactly when he said it would be. Moreover, Charles expedited the job so we could avoid a week-long rain delay. I was also impressed with the way he dealt with some testy neighbors and our very "involved" HOA. I will use Holden on our other properties, and I would certainly recommend the company to anyone in the market for a new roof.

We had had a big hailstorm March 20, 2013. After the insurance company inspected on April 13 and agreed to replace the roof I got a couple of roofers to make proposals. Since I wanted Owens Corning vs GAF and I wanted an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor like Holden Roofing I requested a detailed proposal from Larry Inman, the rep. Holden hand-nails each shingle instead of using air guns in which the penetration power can be difficult to control, causing nails to improperly penetrate the shingle. Holden Roofing delivers the new shingles and other supplies to the driveway, not on top of the roof which is not recommended because of potential damage from all that excessive weight on your roof trusses and decking. Larry was very easy to work with. Since we were not in a rush to replace the roof because the storm damage did not cause any leaks, we took our time. Contract was signed on April 24. There were lots of roofing contractors flocking around the neighborhoods and lots of work being done. My roofing was done on May 23. Holden has permanent crews they use, not some guys they picked up. Larry Inman was on hand off and on during the long 13-hour day to check out the work being done (as was I). The completed project is extremely well done and good looking. Clean-up was quite adequate. Holden later sent out a power wash contractor to wash the driveway which had heavy black marks from the shingle delivery tractor. Apparently like most roofing contractors, Holden's accounting department leaves a lot to be desired. They come up with all sorts of billing invoices, most of which are not correct. You must calculate for yourself what you owe (taking into account all additions/deletions from the original contract). You must verify what you receive from your insurance company is correct, what your deductible amount is, etc. When I sent in my check for the work performed, I attached an explanatory listing of how I arrived at the amount of my check. I was not concerned with Holden's bad BBB rating since I knew from prior experience in my banking career that BBB is not very fair or reliable in its ratings. I found only one bad comment from the BBB and/or Angie's List; the rest were all favorable.

A storm passed through our neighborhood causing wind and hail damage to our roof in Feb. 2013. After contacting our insurance agent, I was given the go ahead to find a roofer to re-shingle our entire roof. I had a business card from Holden Roofing from a neighbor that used them. I called the number and a receptionist was courteous and professional. She told me a salesman would be in contact shortly. Charles Stetzel called and came by our home to look at the damage and gave me an estimate and was very professional. After talking to my insurance agent again, I called Charles back and made an appointment to meet again. The next week Charles kept the appointment and arrived on time. He was very courteous, respectful and professional. He gave me several options and helped me pick the best the best option for my particular needs. He drew up a contract and explained all of the forms and I agreed to the contract. I was asked for a small down payment and was told Holden Roofing would work with my insurance company and myself for the rest of the balance due after the job was complete and both Holden Roofing and myself were satisfied with the job performed. The material and workers showed up on schedule, it was the right material and the workers were courteous and professional. The job was completed in one day and I was very satisfied with the installation of our new roof. Holden Roofing dealt with our insurance company and myself for final payment after the job was complete. Charles was very professional and upheld the contract and installation. We are very satisfied customers and would refer Holden Roofing to anyone of our friends and family.

all work was completed on the appointed date. Completely read your contract dand be informed. Two of our neighbors signed with Holden after they saw the work on our house. Date of service is Approx, Cost is not important, size of house makes $$ differ.

We had Holden Roofing come out annually and inspect our roof to make sure that we didn't have any leaks or problems. So had an established relationship with them. They did a phenomenal job. Everything about them was A; they did a first rate job, price was reasonable, and the people that came out did a great job. The place was immaculate when they were done. They came out a couple of times since and inspected to make sure everything was still okay.We would use them again in a heartbeat.

They did a good job. We called them and they inspected the roof. They contacted our insurance company and arranged for their agent to look at it and it was approved. They did the roofing job. I don’t remember having any problem with them. I think the price was a little experience.

We had three different companies give us Estimates. While Holden Roofing was not the cheapest, they did provide the things we considered most important, Longevity, 51 years in business, Quality products/ Owens Corning Platinum contractor, hand nail, protection of our property, and English speaking supervisor on site. We wanted to upgrade to Owens top quality, we wanted additional Vent products and with the help of Jared Polasek, and Charles we were assured everything would be done to our satisfaction. We waited an extra week because I became ill, but immediately after our products were delivered, however we had another bad rain storm that night so we put off installation 2 days. The night before, they called to confirm they would be there the next morning, and at 7:50 the trucks rolled up and a "large" crew came off, unloading their ladders, tools, and lunches. They were so quiet, had the dog not waked me I would not have known they were there until they got on the roof.. There was almost no conversation other than that which pertained to their business. No yelling or shouting. I am still astounded at the professionalism for everyone associated with Holden's crew. Even our neighbors noticed. One already under contract to Holden and two more considering it .5 and 1/2 hours later our roof was on, Beautiful, everything was cleaned and ONE leaf off my cladiums, was broken...The rain did more damage than that. We could not believe the quality of their work, their kindness, their consideration, even putting our patio furniture back in its original places.It has been our good fortune to work with some great companies in the past for many different things. But We surely rank Holden right at the top for anything concerning Roofing.

They did well. They arrived promptly. They finished quite quickly. They cleaned up their mess.

DO NOT MEET WITH THESE PEOPLE. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. IF THEY SHOW UP ON YOUR DOORSTEP ASK THEM TO LEAVE OR YOU WILL CALL THE POLICE. THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS OR THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SCAMMER.BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE.

Overall, the experience was good. We had done our research and compared prices and processes with at least 5 or 6 other companies, and Holden’s price was right in the middle. They were knowledgeable and able to answer our questions promptly. The salesman was very professional and provided us with a prompt quote. The work was done within the middle of the summer, during the worst heat/drought, and the crew worked 14 hour days in those conditions. The salesman was at the site each day. The work was done within 2 days. They were messy doing the work and broke a few things, which were the only complaints that I had. The cable from the dish to our home was clipped; instead of unscrewing the parts, they ripped them out. Also, our home is about 35 years old, and the fence on one side was knocked down. They could’ve been more careful about removing items, however, they were prompt with repairing and cleaning up everything.

Their office is in Houston. They haven’t finished the job. There is a problem with the shingles and they haven’t fixed it as yet. Honestly I think they were overpriced. Everything was inflated $10000 to do my roof was ridiculous. I won’t recommend them. I have to use them till I get it fixed and once that is over I will never use them.

The staff was friendly, helpful and informative. The showed up when they said they would and replaced the roof in two days. They did have to come back as they ran out of shingles and only had a small area to complete. They did not have anyone on staff that could replace the skylights that had been ordered, so that was subbed out to the skylight vendor. The skylights went in over a month after the roof because they either mesured wrong, received the wrong size - not sure. The skylight vendor's installer was very friendly, imformative, and was also punctual. Overall it was a very good experience, and I recommend them!

I had used them in the past, and I was very disappointed with them this time. It took them almost two months to come out. They said that they were waiting on a claim. Their follow up is not very good.

We were very pleased with them. They arrived at 7:15 one morning and by 4:30 in the afternoon the whole job was finished, and they had cleaned up and were gone. They did excellent work. They were very punctual, responsive, and professional. I would use this company again.

I would recommend Holden in the future. Our roof was only 11 years old, we fixed several leaks over the years and had alot damage from the recent hail storms. Originally we contacted Remedy Roofing based on a recommendation from a friend to inspect our roof. They informed us we had alot of hail damage, so we filed a claim with our insurance company. Remedy came back out, met the adjuster for inspection, and our adjuster denied the claim. Remedy recommended we appeal the claim, which we did, and our insurance stated they would re-inspect the roof as soon as we sent them an estimate from Remedy. We informed Remedy Roofing and asked for an estimate to replace the roof. After 2 weeks, and phone calls unreturned, we gave up and called Charles Stetzel with Holden Roofing. Charles came out to inspect the roof, took pictures (something Remedy never did), marked the damage on the roof, then proceeded to explain it all to us. It was very clear to us we had a problem - the entire roof. Charles also proceeded to explain our rights to us with our insurance company, and the process we would go through. Charles met our second adjuster at our house for the re-inspect of our roof, and pointed out additional damage to the inspector of our a/c unit, fence and downspouts. The adjuster agreed, came to an agreement with Charles (Holden Roofing) on price, and wrote the check out on the spot. We signed a contract with Holden Roofing for the work that needed to be done. I appreciate that Charles took the time to explain the different shingles, the process, etc. We did upgrade our shingles for better wind resistance because our roof had alot of wind damage as well. We talked with Charles about problem spots on the roof. The day our new roof was put on, Charles was at the site frequently during the day to inspect it. He even went into the attic to inspect the connections himself to insure all was reconnected properly. Charles also took the time to explain what was done around the problem areas - basically how it was fixed - and let us know to call him if we had any problems. I believe we finally have a good roof on our house. Charles was always very responsive and kept us informed during the entire ordeal with our insurance company, and right up through the work being completed. We would definitely use Holden Roofing again!

They were courteous and prompt. They did a good job. We would use them again. We didn't compare their prices.

They are located in Richmond, Texas. I located them by accident. Chris Garrett was doing an inspection across the street. I caught hold of him and he came out to look at my place. They are the preferred contractors here. They did a very nice job and did it in one day. They did the whole thing in 7 hours. I spent $10790. The roof has a lifetime warranty and 110 mph. I would use their services in the future too.

Holden Roofing did a FANTASTIC job re-roofing my house in Portland, TX after the Jan 9th hail storm. I couldn't be happier. They performed ALL work that TWIA paid to be done, including a some extra's at a reasonable out-of-pocket expense to myself. All I was out was the additional work that I requested as well as my insurance deductible.

I looked at a couple of companies. The guy that came out from Holden was very professional. More so than the other companies. The end result looks really nice and they did a great job. I recommend them to others. They were very professional. They went above and beyond to match the trim to the existing and do a great job. The price was the same with all the companies but I felt Holden had it all together with their professionalism, price and knowledge.
