HOLDEN DESERVES AN “F” RATING. Replaced my roof several years ago and I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS EVER SINCE. I purchased a high-end GAF roof but THE INSTALLATION WAS POORLY DONE. Their installation did not come close to industry standards, costing me $15K in additional repairs over the years. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY—UNLESS YOU WANT ROOF LEAKS! Ron H.

Quality of roofing was very poor. I caught them trying to cut corners several times. Had to return to fix a few things that should of been done right the first time.

Very happy. They were very professional and did a great job. Jonathan is extremely ethical and I would highly recommend him to others.

I used the company web site designed for customer inquiries. I described my situation and gave my contact info. Never heard from them, in spite of promised follow-up. This company may well do good work, but If they are untrustworthy regarding promises on their web site, how can I expect them to be trustworthy in other parts of their business?

Had hail damaged roof. During the inspection we asked if they use sub-contractors or employees. We were told employees. Holden replaced the roof 3 months before Hurricane Harvey. Installing crew did not flash the valley of the patio or the fireplace correctly. Caused major leak into master bedroom during Harvey. $5k in damages. Called contractor and he sent the installing crew out immediately during Harvey. They put plastic on the roof but put it in the wrong place. Leak continued. When they came back out a few days later the installer argued with us on where the leak was and kept blaming our siding crew for the damages. We had a different roofer come and inspect and they found his bad installation. Then we called our roof contractor back and asked for a different install crew to make the repairs. When the new crew came out they immediately saw the problem - bad install from 1st crew. We also found out the 1st crew was a sub-contractor crew not employees. So far they have not paid for any of the inside house damages. They did repair the roof under warranty. They also tried to put different decking from what we ordered on roof during install but we stopped the job until they got the right decking. The install crew supv also argued with us saying the OSB they were putting on was actually CDX that we ordered. It wasn't! This was a BAD install crew! The repair crew was much better. But not needing a repair crew would have been best. Would never recommend this company to anyone.

I had Holden Roofing replace my roof on Blue Holly Dr in Corinh, TX (north side of Dallas). I was so impressed with the work, responsiveness, and professionalism of the crew and sales rep that I left my 10yr career with JPMorgan Chss bank and started working with Holden Roofing.

We met with the Salesman who promised it would be handled professionally and the highly experienced crew would take extra care not to damage plants etc. I stayed home the day the crew showed up not knowing what to expect. Absolute Armageddon is the only phrase I can think of to describe the 10+ hours. I spent several hours picking up heavy shingles dropped on my plants since they didn't care where they chunked roofing material. We also had 5 cages on the roof to keep the raccoons out and they planned to just rip them from the roof. My wife had to repeatedly explain to them to be careful because no one in the crew spoke english. Once we did speak to the supervisor ( who left early in the AM and never followed up until late in the day ) he stated he had no idea how to put them back on. We had to get with the Sales Person to ok us calling the company that installed the cages originally and deduct cost from bill. I truly thought that getting the roof done was the difficult part but much to our surprise their customer service department was the absolute worst. I referred quite a few neighbors and even my in laws to Holden and everyone of them had issues when it came to the final bill. Obviously, this company makes it a habit of billing whatever they want hoping some poor sole just gets tired of dealing with them. Their inside collectors have no idea what their sales department is telling customers and they flat out don't care. They raise their voice and threaten customers with liens instead of listening to the customer and working through the issues. I wish we had never heard of Holden Roofing and I will be sure to let anyone who asks know the same.

Horrible business practices. I was informed today that it is their "standard practice" to threaten collections even when they know the insurance company owes money. When they estimated the roof, one of the selling points was they worked with the insurance company to "make sure" the insured received the money for the work. My original estimate was for $7,400 then they made a "mistake" and billed me for $7,900. This was corrected by billing me for $7,600. Once again this "mistake" was corrected to a $7,500 amount. They have done nothing but send collections letters until I finally called the adjustor and insurance agent to discover that I was indeed owed money. Holden Roofing does NOT work with the insurance agent to "make sure" that you get the money you are covered for. You have to do that all on your own. What they will do is threaten to take you to collections knowing your insurance company owes money.

Out experience was horrible. The roof looks worse now then it did when they replaced it. They ruined other parts of our house. Very very sloppy work.

I have already recommended them to a lot of people. The damage was in April, and the insurance company came out with an inspector came out and they said half. Holden roofing came out and they said there is no way they could take pictures of the whole damage. They sent out another inspector, the inspector said half. Holden came back out and said there is no way to look at these pictures. So the insurance company sent an engineer and he did a thorough inspection and said the first two inspectors were wrong and there was no damage at all. Holden roofing came back again, and spent all this extra time and they went up there and took pictures of all the details, circled and signed, and submitted all that. And because of the detail the insurance company said we usually ask for more information but because of the detailed pictures and information that Holden Roofing sent, we are going to overturn our own people including the engineer and give you full coverage for the roof. Remember, this started in April, and they continued on till November. They could have said "you know what, you're not worth it and we're gonna move on to other people. They did all that in April, coming back out several times, and fighting with them at no cost. And nor was it charged later on to the cost of the roof. To me it seemed just part of the service. For full disclosure, after everything was done and I even wrote a letter about how pleased I was and blown away by it, they asked if I could do a commercial for them. So then later on, a month later or so, I went over to film and they asked me basically the same things. And they said we will use this for customer satisfaction for the conclusion of a good deal, and then they sent me a card later thanking me with a $25 Starbucks card. I wanted to disclose all that, I don't want anyone thinking they paid me for this. I would have done it for free, I didn't charge them anything, they just sent me the card later for the footage. They said the commercial would be attached to their website.

Poorly, work was uncompleted and service was incredibly rude.

They are not very well liked around here. There was another house across the street from me. See all this happened because of a hail storm here and the house across the street had the roof done but something was bad and they had to redo the roof completely. So that's not a good sign. And that happened after they did my house.

In short, my insurance company accused Holden of insurance fraud and vandalism. A Holden sales rep solicited our house informing us of a recent hail storm in the area and gave us a free estimate. They informed me that there was significant hail damage that warranted a new roof. I opened up a claim with my insurance company, and when the adjuster came out, they informed me that it was not hail damage but the damage was man made. The insurance co. contracted out a 3rd party engineering firm to confirm this, and the report did confirm the damage was man made, likely done in the last 6 mos. The Holden rep was the only one on my roof over the past 3 yrs. In short, my hail claim turned into a vanadalism claim with my insurance company assuming the Holden adjuster was committing insurance fraud. Even before my adjustor got to my house, and they saw that Holden was the contractor there was a red flag in their system because of past issues they had with Holden in Austin and Houston, so this seemed to be more of a trend. I mailed 2 letters to Holden and filed a police report as well given it was vandalism and insurance fraud. Never heard back from Holden. Holden has a number of issues documented with the BBB. Please check them out on BBB as part of your due diligence on a contractor.

Using Holden roofing was one of the worse decisions I have made in my life. Needed roof replaced after hurricane Ike. They did a terrible job on the roof left a disaster in my yard and both my neighbors yards. I had to refuse to pay to get them to come back to make corrections after I paid a home inspector to check their work. I then thought they had corrected everything but apparently they had not. I recently sold this house and the inspector found a lot of issues with the roof. On top of that note the sales person was horrible, yelled at me and threatened me when I was refusing to pay until they corrected the awful job they had done. I had to threaten to call the police to get him to leave my home. I then made the company send someone else to address the issues. I would never use this company again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. They were horrid.

I am very pleased with the work they did. The job came in at the expected budget. It was done on time. The owner and workers were gret to work with. I will use them again on my other properties even if they are a bit more expensive than others. I have had no issues with the new roof.

Quick and looked so easy. I guess that's why they are in the roofing business and not me. Excellent and professional. Would use them again. Took proactive action on inspections and sealed other roof penetrations to ensure they would not have to called back. Not too many other companies would do that.

We also selected Holden for the replacement of our roof. This selection was made after numerous contacts with other companies who had been non-responsive, and failed to return phone calls, provide required information and had been inconsistent in inspections. The most entertaining was the one who said he could inspect our 2 story house with high pitches from the street. None of the companies provided all the information about changing of the mind, changing tiles, etc. except Holden. One company even wanted a 50% non-refundable deposit before they started work. On Angie's list Holden rated A. They are a huge company and as with any such establishment the competition is tremendous, particularly in construction. We, our lender, insurance company and the insurance company inspector, have been quite satisfied with us using Holden, particularly with the detailed evidence of inspection and documentation. In addition, Holden based their schedule upon our convenience, not theirs.

I had purchased the paint, and so it was not included in the price.

Hail storm tore through the neighborhood doing damage to nearly all homeowner's roofs. Insurance company inspected along with representative from Holden Roofing. After inspection, insurance covered the cost of roof replacement, less the deductible of the home owner. Holden was easy to work with, did a very professional job of tearing off the old roof and all the things necessary to replace the old with a new asphalt shingle roof. When the company was done, the condition of the property was as good as before they started the replacement job, but with a new roof. Would highly recommend Holden to anyone needing a new roof or roof repair.

Things look great from a distance, but on closer inspection the bending of the metal strips or drip edge that goes around the roof wasn't done as well as it could have been done. Other then that they did an outstanding job. Confused as to what is considered roof and not roof. The wood under the drip edge is not considered roofing, thought it was.

Initially met with Jonathan L who assessed our roof and then he met with our insurance adjuster. A claim was made and we scheduled roof replacement, replacement of damaged screens, hail damaged gutters and power washing and painting of our deck. It was easy working with Jonathan, he answered or returned all phone calls promptly and kept us informed of schedules of all the contractors. The roof was completed in one day. The crews did a great job of cleaning up, all was hauled away when they finished the job. The contractors used for the screens and gutters performed their work well and arrived when they said they would. The only negative was the contractor that was used for the painting of the deck. The work took a bit longer than expected and a worker would appear and then disappear. A power washer was left at our house for several days, I wondered it they had misplaced it, so I contacted Jonathan to let him know it was here and he sent someone to pick it up. As far as recommending this company, YES I would.

Replaced Roof. Everything went exactly as explained.

They were able to get all of the work done in one day. I dealt closely with Dustin Debakey. The salesman did say he would be there on the whole day of the installation, but he never showed up. They also said they would provide magnetic-type cloths around the house to catch the nails and they did not either. We have young kids and we had to pick up a large amount of nails that had fallen on the ground after they completed the work. On the actual day of the installation, I was very displeased with how they treated our gardens after they reassured us they would not cause damage to them. While I was very upset about our gardens, they did a great job on the roof. I was happy with the result, but not the process itself. Overall, we were very happy with the work that they completed.
