Awful, and I hope I can upload the pictures. I have agreed not to complain about this company as to the "bed cleanout" because they did come back and make it right at least until the new company took over. But they promised and never did get back to me about the sprinklers. I had another company come out and oh my, did he find BIG problems. BIG problems. Don't ever use this company for any sprinkler system check. All irrigation experts must be licensed. Ask to see their license. $106.93 isn't much until you count the fact that you will have to pay labor and the cost to replace the sod that they killed.

Install irrigation system but didn't complete the other items that were request and quoted. Never responded to my email as to when they were going to trim back the trees. Place the irrigation control boxes in the middle of the front yard and right off the back patio. They made no effort to place them were they wouldn't be so obvious. They are big eye sores. They never provided documentation on were each zone was. Overall I am very unsatisfied with their service.

We recently purchased an older home with an ever older sprinkler system. We had very old system, one set of heads had xtopped working, and some were not working well. They came out diagnosed the problems, made necessary repairs, then changed out the old control box, and taught us how to use the new system. They were prompt, professional, very polite.

I contacted Smith Lawn & Tree Service ( 817-921-2222) from Angie's List . They sent out a rep to give an estimate. It was very reasonable and the crew came out a few days later to do the job. They were professionally dressed and knew what to do. At the last minute I asked them to trim some vines out of a Cedar tree, which they did at no extra charge. They did an excellent job of clean up afterwards. One of the best companies I've worked with. Office personnel, Kimberly and Tammy were very cordial and easy to work with in coordinating scheduling.

Never received an call back, waited 3 days. No service was performed. Went with another company/person.

The service techician arrived on time while my wife was at home. He determined that he needed to pump water out of the area in order to be able to work on resolving the problem. He used a hand pump to pump water into a bucket. At one point, the hose came out of the bucket and my wife got a towel to keep the muddy water from running into our swimming pool. She then had to leave for an appointment. When we came home that evening, the sprinkler was fixed. However, we noticed that the water level in our pool was up by an inch or two and the water looked like dirty bath water. (It was crystal clear when my wife left earlier in the day.) When I called the next day to find out what happened, I spoke to the office manager and she said that she would talk to the technician and either call me back or have him call me. Later that morning, I did receive a phone call but was on another line. No voicemail was left. Later in the day, my wife told me that she had a voicemail from the technician. What he told her was that after he fixed the leak and turned the water back on, his fix didn't work and it caused dirty water to get in the pool. He said that he didn't charge for the extra time spent re-repairing the problem and hopefully that would offset the damage done to the pool. My issues with this manner of doing business is first of all, I think there should have been a phone call or a note explaining what happened and apologizing for it. I shouldn't have had to call and ask what happened. This was not a minor thing. It has taken three days and a lot of work to get all of the dirt out of the pool water. Secondly, not charging for the time to do the repair a second time because the first attempt was unsuccessful is something I would expect regardless of any other circumstances. I checked that I would do business with them again because there wasn't a box for "maybe". While the sprinkler problem was fixed, this experience certainly hasn't left me with a positive impression of how they conduct business and the degree to which they value their customers.

Tried to schedule service. Someone called back, but I had a few more questions. Was told they would respond quickly. Still no word back. Oh well. Update: I never got another voice mail or message on my phone from the company. It's fine if they didn't service my area, but I never got that message.

I spoke with this company the week prior and was told that someone would call me on Tuesday the 4th. Never received a call back. I called them late on the 5th and was told that they will not just do weed service, although there add says they do, do weed service. The least they could have done was called me and told me that as I have been waiting on a call.Also they will not do fert and weeds unless they also do other services for you, so beware when you call them that they may not call you back and that they may not do all of the services that they advertise individually. The only reason why they got a D was the lady on the phone was nice, but did not return the call.

Couldn't have asked for more professional customer service! Everyone we dealt with (from phone rep to landscapers) was top-notch! They accidently broke my bathroom window (we were not upset at all). This company replaced the window without questioning or creating any problems. They promptly return calls and provide answers to all of our questions. We still continue to get compliments on our lawn! It's gorgeous! Very happy with our experience with Smith Lawn and Tree!

They did an excellent job. They were here early and they didnt leave until they were done.

To explain the ratings: The overall work was alright. But I had a bad feeling after this job so it was a bad experience for me. There were several reasons: The most attractive vegetation I had, bushy monkey grass in front of the left and right sides of a brick entryway, was hacked down pretty low and I'm hoping that it will survive. This mistake and the others COULD have had something to do with the fact that none of the 3 men sent spoke English. Well, one did, barely. I know that errors can occur even when you speak the same language. But being able to communicate effectively goes a long way towards preventing any problems! From now on I will first ask a company if they will have someone on the job that speaks decent English, and if they don't I will not hire them. I could have stayed outside and made sure that they didn't mess up, but I wanted to get some work done inside, and besides, if I had wanted to stand out in the heat I would have done the job myself and saved $285. What really upset me was later when I realized that they had taken my personal trash away with them. A workman had pointed to the area by the side of the house and said something like, "Clean up for you? Make it beautiful". I said yes. I was assuming that they would put the bags of garbage in the garbage cans next to them. I'm very careful with my personal information. My kids had put out the bags and I don't know what was in them. Although, I'm sure that most other people would have been thrilled that their garbage was taken for them. I'm not an expert (although someone I asked who has done their own yardwork agrees with me on this) but it seemed to me that three men should not have taken as long as they did to weed/trim the small area around the front and one side of the house. And I'm not sure how it is calculated, but it seems to me that they charged me for extra time, a total of 2.4 hours. They did clean it up well, however. Also on the plus side, everyone I dealt with on the phone was pleasant and professional. My appointment was set up with no delay. The workmen came out on time. When I called to tell the company about my problems I was listened to politely and offered an apology (although that was all I was offered.) I had asked when the person first answered my phone call if I should talk to the operations manager or managing partner, who I asked for by their names. But she did not offer to have me speak with them before or after I talked to her. I was told up front that this company charges the same amount per hour no matter what work, skilled or unskilled, is done. Lesson: Never assume that you will be getting premium service if you pay a higher price. There were a few other issues with this job that I could go into as well, but I won't. Bottom Line: I'm sure this company is really good on their tree service side. But I would not use this company for this kind of manual/unskilled labor. You could get the same service or better for a fraction of the cost just about anywhere else.

They seemed to offer a reasonable price for the drain. I told them that I wasn't interested now but may be down the road. The builder of our house laid sod on the landscape and it was very lumpy. I had weeds coming up in my garden and I had a busy job needed done. They did a good job eliminating weed stalks. Now my lawn is cleaned up and looks good. Because of their advice and consultation, I was able to submit a warranty with the builder.

Russell came out to give a bid, on time, as promised. He went over all of my wish list and developed a plan to help get my yard looking good. His crew did a great job cleaning up the overgrowth around the back yard and at the side of the house. The new tree and plants that were installed look great and are thriving. The attention to detail was impressive and appreciated. The tree crew was especially impressive. They trimmed up my oaks to perfection. The large oak that had to be removed was a huge chore. There was a metal watering rod that had grown up through the middle that hindered the chain saw from cutting through. This crew did not give up and stayed a full 12 hours working on this tree. They had to come back to grind the stump, which took some skill and work, considering the rod. At the end of the day, the yard looks great. Despite the missing grass, I would never know that a tree had been planted where this large oak stood.

They showed up on time. Fixed all the problems with my sprinkler system and charged me a really fair price for the work performed.

The company came out on the promised day and provided me with a free estimate, which they left in my front door. When I set up the day (a Thursday), I received a call a day earlier asking if it was alright for them to come a day early. I was delighted when I got home from work. The tree was opened up, the dead wood removed, and the property absolutelyy clean. If I didn't know they were coming, and hadn't seen the tree in the morning, I would never have known they were there at all. Grass is now growing under the tree since the sun can shine on it. The company sent me the bill the first week in July as promised, and I paid them gladly. I would definately use this company in the future (and plan to for other tree trimming) and recommend them to anyone else without hesitation. My tree looks healthy and beautiful. There are no branches hanging down on my roof, blocking the sidewalk, or encroaching on my neighbor's yard. Thank you Smith's Lawn and Tree!

This company was so terrific we wouldn't hesitate to work with them again. They made the process very painless for us and anticipated our needs. They are the BEST!!!

We asked them to come back out and make some corrections to the patio. They had to raise 3 small areas of the patio for better drainage. The weather delayed them a few months but they came back out to do the work. They cleaned up after themselves and I was happy with their work.

Did a nice job, aerating the entire yard. Arrived on time, for the agreed upon price. The only drawback was I didn't feel that the aeration was deep enough or thorough enough.

They installed the controller and sprinklers. They work, but they were very unprofessional about the installation. The telephone line was cut when the system was installed. It was spliced back together, but my alarm system recognized it as a cut phone line and sent a 911 alarm to the Sheriff's department. The phone company had to install a new lline to stop the 911 calls. The controller was installed, but a guide for what each of the zones covered was not done nor was a manual for the controller included. In looking up for a manual on the internet, I discovered that the model installed was discontinued last year. The charge for the controller was $800. After the system was installed, I called the installer several times to ask him to come back out and show me how the controller worked, and what zones it covered. He was always too busy to come out

From the office to service the complete professionalism. The installer Tim goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction. I bought a house that claimed to have a working system,little did we know how bad off the system was. Tim came out evaluated and we set a course of action, he kept me informed every step of the way. Instead of replacing the system at much higher rate choose to repair. As he got into the system he noticed how bad off it was. Tim stayed the course working it station by station. His workmanship is outstanding. If you need a system call Smith and ask for Tim.

I liked them, they did a great job. I was impressed with their cleanup. Sometimes I ask people to come and do things for me, and they make a big mess and leave it. I’d say their price was reasonable for the work they had done, and the quality of their work was very good. I have had some other people, and I don’t want them back, but I would recommend these people. Their responsiveness was excellent, we had called them right after we had a tornado in parts of Dallas and Fort Worth, not in my area, but all things considered, I think that they were very responsive. There were a lot of people that had a lot of damage that had to be cleaned up, and I just had a tree that was dying, one had already died, and my particular problems weren’t urgent, but still they came. They were very responsive.

They did a really good job. I was at work and they were both cut when I got home. They cleaned up the area where they cut the trees up and also removed some old limbs by my house and I didn't even ask them to. They will be here later today to remove another tree for me.

This was my second experience with Smith Lawn & Tree. Their tree crew did tree pruning in our acre yard a few weeks ago. We were so pleased with the outcome, we decided to have them prune our shrubs and small trees. I'd worked 6 hrs. pruning just the back pool bed the week before, got 8 contractor bags of trimmings, and hadn't made a dent in the pruning required in this yard . We'd already pruned everything twice this season and it was again out of control due to all the rain we've had. I knew we had to have help to manage it all. The crew yesterday, comprised of Manuel, Jose' and Hilario, was awesome. We discussed what I needed done, and they hit the ground running. They were like a S.W.A.T. team. They pruned all the shrubs in the beds, making rounded corners like I requested, so it has a softer look. My husband and I do a fair job as amateurs, but when these guys were done, it was professional and just beautiful. The difference was obvious. In about 3 1/2 hrs., they did what would take my husband and I all weekend to accomplish. They removed a few high limbs from our possum haw trees, and pruned the tops of our youpon trees. The shape of them is excellent now. These specimens can really get out of control, and they look just great now. Much of the work they did required ladder work due to the height of the shrubs and trees. They pruned some large outlying shrubs like Japanese Ligustrum and eleagnus, which were cumbersome, but they pulled them back into a pleasant shape. Aside from that, they were 3 of the nicest fellows you'd ever want to meet. Once they started working, they didn't stop. They are pros, and very intuitive in our yard of what needs doing and the look we want. I'll have this service done again in a couple of months and will request this team if at all possible. Just a note: offer cold drinks to people working out in the heat for you. A soft drink, iced tea, Powerade (they need to replace electrolytes) or even ice water is needed and appreciated when it's 100 degrees to prevent heat exhaustion. Even if they have them in their truck, a crew like I had yesterday won't stop and take the time to go hydrate. Thank you, Jose', Manuel and Hilario!

I am recently widowed and my husband took care of the yard. My trees had become overgrown and we have a swimming pool which I could not keep clean because of all the trees. I had a difficult time finding someone to come out and even call me back. I contacted Smith Lawn & Tree and received a call immediately. One of the owners came out and walked with me and explained what needed to be cut and trimmed. They arrived on the date scheduled and worked all day. They did a wonderful job. I have also hired them to keep my yard up on a weekly basis. My yard looks great. I am still working on the landscaping. I would highly recommend them, they may be a little high on tree trimming but was worth every penny.

About two weeks ago I had this company come out to give me an estimate on tee trimming and tree removal. The company rep called me back the same day I had the estimate to schedule a time to come out. I did not return the call because I was not ready to have the service performed yet. Imagine my shock today when a work crew showed up at 9 am to start the job. Talk about high pressure sales. I was lucky I was home and able to stop the crew before they started the job and billed me $1200.00.
