They were on time and professional. They provided an estimate beforehand and the final cost matched the estimate. He capped 5 sprinkler heads, fixed 3 heads, extended two heads that had been buried by years of dirt and mulch, and checked the overall pressure of the system to make sure everything was in good condition and running well before he left. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Although there was a mess-up for the first appointment regarding scheduling, they came the next day as promised. There were 3 men, and they aggressively attacked the job - cutting grass, edging and blowing - and were done and gone within 30 minutes. Our yard is not huge, but it's fair size and on a corner. Also, we have St. Augustine grass which is quite lush and thick and can be difficult to push through. The entire yard looked great when they finished. We are pleased and will use their service every other week unless a lot of rain causes the lawn to grow faster.

These folks are the absolute best, the trees look beautiful when they finish and the cleanup is superb. I have used them before. There was one problem this time. I feel that the estimate for the job was too high. A new guy gave me the estimate, in the future I would insist that either Judd or Chad estimate the job.

It looks good. I think i signed on for too much, and I've had to prompt them to see if they've done everything I paid for. It's an uncomfortable feeling having to stay on top of a contractor. Now that it's summer, they are out here weekly. They don't leave a card letting you know what they've done, which makes me feel like I need to follow up. They do a fine job but they're fairly pricey. The price is per month.

I should have written this review when I had all the work done last year. Smith lawn and tree did an excellent job on my backyard project and I even signed a contract with them for monthly yard maintenance. They were prompt and the workers very seldom took breaks. You could tell they took pride in their work. Good recommendations for shrubs. I wanted zoysia grass and it is beautiful! After the job they have responded well to my requests. I lost several shrubs and they replaced them promptly. The girls in the office are very good

The team never showed. I locked my dog in the house all day so I could open the rear gate to allow them into the back yard and my dog had to use the house for it's facilities for nothing because the lack of professionism from this company didn't even include a phone call to inform me they would not be keeping their appointment. I was at work and returned home to find nothing done. It has now been a week since they stood me up and I have yet to receive even a phone call with some kind of excuse. This company may have once been excellent but they obviously cannot handle their own success because I would never even think of recommending them to even an enemy.

From beginning to end, it was a great experience working with this company. The lady in the office was very friendly and helpful, and I was able to get the work done the same day I called. A three-man crew showed up and did an extremely professional job. I was more than pleased with the work, and they got it all done in less than an hour. I have another company rep coming by in a couple of days to give me an estimate on further work, and I'm looking forward to having a long relationship with this company.

Found Smith Lawn & Tree on Angie's list. Called and got prompt response from Jack who came out to give an estimate. His estimate was ball park of what I expected to pay. In addition Jack gave me several helpful hints regarding other questions and problems I had. Jack sent an e-mail with the scheduled time for carrying out the work. I e-mailed back to request another time because of a personal conflict. I did not hear from Jack in two days, so called the office to get the date changed. The office woman was very accommodating. She apologized that Jack had not gotten back in a timely manner, stating that he had had a very tight schedule and they were doing something to alleviate that so he would be able to be more responsive to his clients. The crew (Nicholas, Juan & Rubin) arrived about 7:45 to begin work. They worked solidly all day - until about 5:30. Getting that garden box down was difficult because it was made from railroad ties and heavy rebar. Their work and clean up was perfect. Nicholas said he would put in flags to show the irrigation person where to install the new sprinkler heads. The irrigation person came out a few days later, installed 3 new heads, changed out a broken one and checked the entire system for function and coverage. I asked about an additional head in the back. He said he would be glad to install it but said he did not think I would be happy with the result. He said the additional head would drop the pressure and decrease coverage. I agreed. Will have them do further trimming on my bushes which are currently blocking some existing sprinkler heads. All in all it was a very positive experience

Jack came out to do the estimate for removing two trees which were way too close to the house I just recently purchased, as well as removal of a large cottonwood in the back corner of my yard and placing fill dirt and 3 pallets of sod in the front half of my back yard. Although Jack thought at first that the cottonwood would be able to be included in the removal pricing as the other 2 trees, it was determined to be a full day job in itself and so I will have that done - likely by Smith Landscaping - in the future. Jack thought that it would take 2-4 weeks to fit me into the busy spring schedule, but they were actually able to get me in within 10 days, much to my delight. The tree crew came out and had both trees removed easily, including removing and re-installing part of a chain link fence that one of the trees was pushing out of position. The trees were chain-sawed and chewed up by their chipper. This crew, as well as the sod crew the following day, was very pleasant and polite. The following day the sod crew came out and cut my top lawn (if you can call the bare dirt & weeds that I had a "lawn") with a sod-cutter before putting down fill dirt and sod. On both days, the crews cleaned up meticulously behind themselves, and Jack came out during the work to make sure everything was going well as well as to answer any questions I had. Overall a good experience.

The estimate was higher than I had hoped, but we were impressed with the professionalism and knowledge. We do not have the funds at this time, but still are considering them for the future.

I call this company to get a quote for lawn maintenance. The lady that took my information was very nice and said someone would call me back soon to work with me. I never heard back from anyone. It's possible they don't service the area where I live but I think someone should have called me and told me that.

I was happy with their work. The only complaint was I gave them exact amount of mulch they would need to bring, but they didn't bring that amount.They ended up going and getting more it just took longer then expected.

I have four large trees on my property. I have trimmed them myself over the past eight years with a pole saw. They have gotten too big for me to trim. There were dead limbs very high up that needed removing, the canopies needed raising away from house. I have had four previous companies out to provide bids. Two of the prior companies gave bids that were way too high. The other two companies were uninsured and their bids were way too low. I called Smith Tree and Lawn Care and asked them to come out to provide a bid. An appointment was set and Jud Smith arrived the next day on time. He provided a fair bid and was the most professional and trustworthy tree service company owner I have spoken to. I agreed on the work proposed and the bid. He had his assistant call me and I set an appointment. On 3/20/13 a tree trimming crew arrived at my house right on time. They arrived in a large box truck that pulls a chipper. I discussed the work with the foreman and I left for work. I came home a few hours later for lunch and they were about 3/4 through the job. I came home after work and they had completed the tree trimming and left me some wood for my fire pit. I am amazed at how great my trees now look. The work Smith provided was professional, complete, timely at a fair price! I will used them again in the future.

Overall, it was excellent. The estimator came out and gave me the estimate. I accepted the estimate on the spot. Later that same afternoon someone from their office called and set up the time for the service to be performed (two weeks out). They arrived on 2/26 about 11am. It took them about 1 1/2 hours. Did an excellent job of pruning my crepe myrtle to follow my roof line. Removed the dead junipers and ground the stumps. Cleaned up the yard very well. I am very happy with the service and work performed.

We did not have a good experience. First, they did not call us when they came over so I could bring the Roundup for the poison ivy and review what I wanted them to focus their efforts on, as we had agreed. Thus, they showed us, apparently worked on the front lawn only (which is not that big), did not even go into the back yard - much less spray for poison ivy - nor did they haul away the tree truck as agreed. I have followed up with their office 4 times, each time assured someone would get back with me, to no avail. I have waited about 6 weeks to post this review in hopes they would address these issues. Very unhappy. UPDATE: Several weeks later, Smith Lawn & Tree did pick up the tree stump. We appreciate that and I have upgraded my grade to a C.

Good price, timely. My only concern was that the aeration was not deep enough and did you provide the desired results.

I contacted Smith Tree service for a quote and Russell came and left a quote the next day. I approved the work and they promised the work would done before Thanksgiving. They arrived promptly at 8 am and started to cut the tree down. When it was time for the stump to be ground, they had a problem with the stump grinder and had to go get another grinder to finish the job. Well, it turned out the second stump grinder also had problem so the stump wasn't ground until the following week since it was Thanksgiving. I wasn't too happy with the work not completed before Thanksgiving as promised but I decided not to make a big fuss a day before Thanksgiving. As for the other tree pruning, they did a good job of making the tree look much more balanced. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service despite the minor inconvenience.

This is not only a response to Tammy but also what went wrong with the job. I had typed out all the details but some how got lost and was never posted. First off there was no personal problems here. The problems were the crew that Judd sent out to do my tree trimming. I will list them The crew stayed over on the side of the house after Judd left sitting on the lawn talking and smoking . After about an hour I went out there and said isn't it about time to get to work. They did finally start cutting limbs, after a few hours I went out to the car to leave and run errands, I was leaning into my car doing something first and turned around and one of the guys was standing right behind me. It scared me to death! I asked him what he wanted and he told me I couldn't leave, I asked him why. He said because I needed to tell them what all I wanted done. I told him to call Judd that I had gone over specifically what needed to be done that I had to leave. When I came back an hour later they had stacked huge branches in the driveway and I couldn't get into my property. As I was walking up the driveway one of the guys pointed at something. I went over and looked. I was horrified, they had cut a perfectly live limb that had a squirrel nest in it with one baby squirrel in it. It was laying on the ground with limbs thrown on her. It was crying and blood was coming out of its nose. One of the guys smiled. I was sick to my stomach. By this time it was late in the day and they packed up to leave and said they would come back. The trimming was terrible. I called the office and told Tammy I wanted Judd to come with the crew so the job could be completed correctly. She said she would get back to me as she would have to contact Judd and see when he could come. Last thing she said she would call me and tell me day and time. I never hheard from her. My neighbor told me when I was gone one day their truck showed up and sat outside my property for a few minutes. They couldn't get in because it is fenced gated. I called and left a message, Tammy called me back we tried to schedule when Judd and crew could come but it never happened.

I talked to a few different people to get the job scheduled initially. The first person I spoke with had to check with the girl that handled the scheduling and she had to talk to the crew to see when they could get to the property. I sent some before pictures to help explain the scope of the job and what I wanted done. I was unable to be there while the job was being done but I was very pleased with the results. They did a great job following the instructions I had given the scheduler. They cleaned up all the trimmings and the yard looked great! I would call them back if I ever needed more work done.

They did a great job, and their bid was the lowest of the three we got. They were highly recommended by a couple of our friends, and we were just as pleased with their service. The crew was really polite and did a great job of cleaning up. We will always call them for tree service in the future.

My sprinkler system was in such bad shape that I didn't even use it for the last three years. Of course, my yard looked very dead and I actually did lose the hedges in the front. I knew I had to do something. Tim came out and took a look at the system and we made a plan to rework the front and side yards. Luckily, I didn't have to replace the system! He was very thorough and told me that we needed to add several heads and replace a few major parts. Ultimately, we needed to replace the control box, too. My front yard is very large and he made sure that it was covered in all areas. I will be doing my back yard and the parkways at a later date and I will definitely be calling Smith Lawn & Tree. The whole experience was so stressfree. I couldn't have asked for better service. Tim knows his stuff. I appreciated the fact that he was completely comfortable using what I had in place and didn't try to sell me something just because he could. By the way...my yard is thriving! It looks so good, that I had a friend come by to see me and said that my "weeds" look even better than my neighbors' grass! I am very satisfed with the service they provided and I will definitely use them again.

His work was delayed due to the fullness of his schedule but when he was able to add my work to his schedlue, he was prompt and professional.

Our front faces the west so it gets really hot in the front so they planted 4 new trees. They planted 2 Live Oaks and 2 12ft. Crape Myrtles. They also cleaned up everything after they planted the trees. Trees like that need fertilizer, so a couple of days ago they told me what to get for the fertilizer. They also put gator bags that hang on each tree that waters the trees. I never felt like I was bothering them after the work was done. They are really great. Jud and Russell were very nice and helpful. Also, the girl in the office Tammy, was very nice.
