Smith Lawn & Tree

Jud Smith called and made an appointment to come out and give me an estimate on the work I needed done. He was right on time and was very polite and professional. He asked me detailed questions about the work and suggested the stump grinding which I was very interested in. We set up a date for the actual work. The men that came out were prompt and got right to work. Everything was finished in about 2 or 3 hours. They did an excellent job and my husband and I are very pleased.

Russell was very responsive to my request for a quote. He came over, spent time looking at everything and most important, listened to what I wanted which was primarily cleanup and removal for this phase of my landscape project. He quoted me several options based on my requirements. I had additional questions while he was out of town and when I called the office, both Kimberly and Jud Smith were very responsive. I decided on Smith Landscape and Tree from two other Angie's List vendors and was not dissapointed. The crew arrived on time each day (the entire process took two days) and worked very hard in 106 degree heat to complete the job. I even asked the landscaping crew to help me move a large decorative rock which had to be rolled to a new location and they were very willing to assist even though it wasn't part of the original detail. The crews all wore logo'd shirts which was very professional and were courteous and friendly -- despite the heat! The results were amazing. The sprinkler technician, Tim, was very professional and knowledgable. He went over the entire sprinkler system and examined each head (some were not even functional), looked at watering patterns and gave me his recommendations and an estimate of the cost. He did not try to sell me something I didn't need and in one case, I opted not to add a couple of additional heads and he agreed that those could wait. He and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently to repair, replace and in some cases install the sprinkler heads. I have 7 stations and approximately 8 heads per station -- approximately 56 heads of both rotor and pop-up variety. Overall I couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of work. The price was very competitive based on the bids I received. I will definitely use Smith Landscape and Tree again and recommend them to my friends. I plan on having them do my weekly lawn maintenance.

One of my trees in the front yard was struck by llightning. It took out 1/3 of the tree. The tree was laying on the corner of the house, the gutter, the youpon tree and the special sunscreen that we had put on the window. The lawn, tree service took the tree down exactly as I had been told it should be. The lawn service had given me a time of of 8:00am, 10:00am and they showed up about 2:15pm. The tree limb removal couldn't have been done better. We are completely happy with their service and will definitely call them again, however I hope we don't have to. If anyone has any questions for me, I will be glad to answer them.

Jud Smith, the owner, is very personable and reliable. He coordinates with you closely to make sure you are 100% satisfied. The company does very good work. I am completely satisfied with Smith Lawn and Tree.

I was concerned about tree roots growing close to my house and sent an email to Smith Lawn & Tree to ask about it. I didn't want to waste their time because I was only gathering information and estimates. They asked if I could send them some pictures so I did. They were able to identify the type of tree and tell me that there was no need to be worried -- all without charging me anything, even though I offered to pay a consultation fee. Very helpful people showing true customer service, something that isn't all that common any more.

No story here. They do exactly what they say will and what you want them to do.

I could not be happier. They did a great job. They were very patient with my questions. They would stop and take their time with my questions.

This company does an excellent job. THe owner is engaged in the business and the crew foreman was knowledgeable. They have done my trees before and I was completely satisfied. Their quality is consistent. They do a really fabulous job of clean up. One other good item is an accurate estimate and a detailed description of the work to be done before it is done. A great value for excellent work. I would recommend this company to anyone who needed lawn and tree service.

beds would've looked great, but once completed, I realized the mini youpons looked misgrown and shabby. I called and e-mailed RussellSimpler and aksed if we could get that taken care of; renegotiate the price as needed. He did not reply. 1 1/2 week after they completed the bed, our sprinkler broke, putting the whole project in peril. I called Smith Lawn on a Fri and was assured that Russell would get back to me that day. Luckily , I got a different contractor on Sat and that problem was resolved.the following Tues, 5 days after contacting Smith, they called to schedule a repair for the following day. When I called to pay the bill, the receptionist asked if I would give them a good reference and I said "no, not completely" and explained why. She said that Russell would talk to me and asked if I would talk to him. I assured her I would, he just needed to call. I held my review of this company for >24 hours to give him ample opportunity. No call. We can't count on a company so unresponsive. We have 4 trees to repolace and 3 beds to redo this fall; will be looking for another contractor.

Three guys showed up and worked very hard during their time here. I asked for three hours of work to cap my cost at around $300. They stayed for three and a half to finish up the lawn but I was only charged for three. Quality outfit.

They came right out and provided great service! They did such a thorough job of cleaning, I wasn?t even aware they had been there! I would definitely use them again if necessary.

I wasn't home when they did the work so all I found was a treeless, stumpless back yard. They cleaned the yard cleaner than they found it. They quickly sent their proof of insurance when requested. The work scheduling was efficient and accurate. Overall a very professional experience from the estimate, the scheduling, and actual work.

Tried to set up a time for an estimate on a sprinkler system install, but the tech no showed. Turns out he was sick, but no one contacted me. When they did show up, it took a long time to email an estimate, and it was very high. I emailed and called back for an explanation, and was never contacted again.

It didn't. No response received to an email inquiry.

Russell was very helpful in determining what I needed and extremely creative with the hardscape. The workmen were professional and did a great job. Very strong courteous skillful professional team.

It was an okay experience, overall.

They really did a good job. They were on time and very friendly. I had a concern and they came back and addressed that for me. The price was maybe a little high, but they did do good work.

Absolutely FANTASTIC tree service experience. We have had many tree services, large and small, over the years and never never have we had such a professional group--from the bid with Russell and the on-the-job follow-up with Jud, we cannot say enough about the superior job. The tree climber was so excellent--truly an art form, no limbs came crashing down, etc. The whole job was perfectly managed--grinding of all limbs and stumps and over-all cleanup. Kudos!!! They were about 1 hour late but were very quick and did an excellent job. They cleaned up all the debris.

I got a bill for $75.00, which seemed a bit excessive for such a short service call. When I questioned this, they reduced it to $54, which, while still a lot for changing a fuse, they were amenable to negotiating a reduced fee. So, all in all, I'm satisfied, and will ask them to bid on some tree work I need done.

Couldn't be better. Jud took a great deal of time explaining what would be done and why. He answered any concerns, fixed anything I didn't like, he even made a second trip out to Azle just to meet with my wife to pick landscape plants...and brought sample plants with him. We had planned to do the landscaping ourselves but after seeing Smith Lawn's work, we hired them to take care of it right away.

I am happy with the lawn and shrubs. If I needed to do it again I would go back to them.

The owner personally came on several occasions to supervise the work being done on our yard. After the installation a few minor concerns arose. Our sprinklers were pointing the wrong direction, and we noted a low laying spot in our back yard that was allowing water to collect. On both occasions, Mr. Smith personally came out to our property to inspect and remedy the problem. The only complaint we have is that on more than one day, the company's workers arrived late, and left well after 7:30 PM.

They did an excellent job. I would recomment them to anyone. They are good people.

Smith had the highest bid of the companies contacted but was much more professional and had several suggestions to help improve the system. Jud was very professional and his crew arrived about 9:00 a.m. and finished the job by 7:00 p.m.
