Smith Lawn & Tree

Started out pretty good, but the quality wasn't what I expected. Edging was not very defined. All invoices has been paid for work performed, then the following: Invoice received on May 5th in the mail for work performed in the month of April. No "due date", or "due on receipt" was on the invoice. The next scheduled service was not performed on the 14th with no phone call and no email reminder. Invoice paid on 5/19. No service on the next Friday May 21st. Phone calls on Thursday 5/24 and 5/25 were unreturned. Very poor way to terminate service.

This was a great experience. Jud, one of the owners, came to our home, walked the 1 acre with me, and we discussed what I wanted done and he showed me what he recommended they would do. I could tell from his in-depth description they would thin out and visually lift the trees instead of cutting big limbs, and that's what we were looking for. Lower limbs had gotten dangly and heavy, hanging down to make it hard to mow and letting enough light get to the lawn. He gave me the cost of the work, and we scheduled the appointment for a few weeks later, as they are very busy. The crew, along with Jud, arrived on time at 8:00. Jud walked the property with my husband again, and gave instructions to the crew on the work to be done and not to prune fruit trees since they are bearing fruit. He also told them to remove a pile of debris we were going to burn, which was thoughtful! After the walk-through, my husband was also as comfortable as I was with the competency of this company. The 3-man crew worked from 8-5 with a lunch break. Everyone, from Jud to the crew, were professional, friendly and respectful of our home. They are meticulous. Such attention to detail, as they cut and cleared. In a couple of areas of live oak stands, they cleared and thinned volunteers and saplings, leaving the stronger trees to stand out. Twigs and leaves and small branches were removed from the lower portion of pecan and oak trees, while leaving the limbs growing upward, to lift the bottom of the leaves but leave the shape of the tree intact. They just look beautiful. They removed huge wild grapevines from a couple of areas. They hauled all the debris and shredded it in their chipper/shredder. Then they raked/removed any remaining leaves/debris. The finished product was just perfect. We are thrilled with the end result of the work they did yesterday. I will be calling them shortly to do shrub pruning in our beds, because I know aesthetically, their finished work will enhance the look of our home.

Serviceman (Tim maybe?) and helper checked sprinkler box, located buried wire and repaired in record time. Walked through each zone with me and made note of each item to be changed (leaking sprinkler heads, heads to be moved). After all repairs were made, and payment made, they left, then returned within 5 minutes to make sure the system had been turned back on. Very nice and knowledgeable, enjoyable experience. Will never use another sprinkler company.

All items have since been repaired and corrected by Smith Lawn & Tree. Many heads needed replacement. And they made some finer adjustments to many of the heads. The system performs great now!

They have done landscaping, removed dead trees and trimmed other trees on my property. They did a great job. They came when the said they were going to and did what they said they would. The pricing was reasonable for the service provided.

The job went great and my sprinklers have never worked so well.

Coordinated with the office for an appointment to obtain the estimate. Jud Smith met me at the house at the appointed time and quickly took notes / pictures of what I wanted done. The price was reasonable and ask him to schedule the work. He said it would be about two weeks out. A three man crew came when they said they would and quickly went to work - they never stopped moving, cutting, hauling, grinding. They told when they were leaving for (a very short) lunch break, came back and finished up. They did a beautiful job and the clean up was amazing. I am very pleased with the results and the value. Everything about my experience with Smith lawn and Tree exceeded my expectations. Communication was timely, friendly and accurate. The work crew worked hard and did an outstanding job. The thoroughness of the work was impressive. Cleanup was perfect. Overall, I don't think I have had as good an experience with any other company. They are very good top to bottom.

I called them to come out to give me an estimate. They were here promptly. I needed some ideas on how to proceed with the landscaping. Howard gave me some ideas I liked. He put me on his schedule which took about three weeks. They callled before arriving. They worked very hard and got the job done that day. They installed a large flower pot and attached my sprinkler system to it.They put bright annuals and perennials in the pot.They put in a variety of bushes and flowers. It looks great. Howard explained everything to me and answered any questions I had. Great experience.

Jud Smith came out and gave a great price with an Angie's list discount coupon. They worked on 5 trees and removed two stumps. My trees look awesome and they cleaned up everything down to the last leaf and and twig. I highly recommend this business and they will have my business again.

If you need any work work done outside, call Smith Lawn & Tree... If you were thinking about calling someone else, hang up the phone, don't waste your time or money. I've been using Angie's list for a few years now and have come across many good businesses and individuals, Smith Lawn & Tree is chock full of both! As a business person myself, nothing bugs me more than a business who doesn't return calls/emails or seems 'put off' by customers. Smith Lawn and tree is busy and rated well for good reason.... they're GREAT. Kimberly in the office is awesome. I had made many different phone calls & sent emails with change request, all were handled quickly, professionally and correctly. Kimberly deserves A++++ just for the number of updates that I had made. Howard came out to survey my requests and was very thoughtful as to how to implement my ideas properly while, get this, saving me money. (Yeah, I know...) Tim (the irrigation leader) was thorough he walked me though each modification. On the day when he returned to perform the work, he spotted a few more potential problems and fixed those as well. My improvements required the work to be completed in stages, during each stage, I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service, caring, and attention to detail by every member of each crew that was working on my project that day. Again, if you're looking to have work done on your yard and want it done correctly - don't look any further than Smith Lawn & Tree.

Smith Lawn and Tree was just fantastic to deal with from beginning to end. The office staff was always cheery and helpful when I called, and if Howard was out of the office he always returned my call quickly. I had a couple of dozen HEAVY bags of leaves in the back yard that had been sitting since last fall, and were now far too heavy for me to manage. A couple of days after Howard left, I emailed and asked as to whether or not his crew could also remove these bags for me. A few days later, I again emailed Howard about using a weed-eater to nail down the weeds (mini-jungle) that I had growing in the back yard. Each time, he responded quickly by telephone and assured me that there would be no problem.The day finally arrived. The crew was here by about 8 a.m. and worked hard until after 7 p.m. Howard and the crew chief did a walk-around with me to make certain that we were all on the same 'page'. They did take a lunch break but other than that, they just flat worked hard all day! They did a simply superb job of everything! The trees look GREAT -- all the dead wood is gone, the branches now all have access to sunlight, and still provide good cover shade for my house. The less healthy trees and limbs are now gone, leaving more water and light for the healthy ones. In addition, all the bags of leaves are gone, and the entire yard was mowed, raked and cleared. I really like my yard now!! The service was spot on and I could not have asked for more! Their response to my questions and requests was nearly immediate and all to my immense satisfaction. I have plans for some landscaping work now on the front yard, and fully expect the same incredible quality of service. I would say more but have run out of superlatives! :)

They have been pretty good so far. I think they are quick, but they do the job. They come out when they said they would and they were pleasant. The best thing is that they did as they said they would do and the first time I wasn’t here, which was very good. I have dealt with them for a short term and they have been good so far. The price is fair and if you are pleased with the work, it is worth it. I will continue to use them in the future.

I have spoke with Smith Lawn and Tree for an estimate on tree service. The price quoted to me was good, the staff was friendly and punctual. I am planning to have Smith Lawn and Tree complete my tree service needs in the near future.

I got this name from Angies list and read reports. I also checked out BBB. Howard Kuhl gave me the estimate, and did extra work that I asked him to do after they started. They were very proficient, quick, and cleaned up and removed any debris. He wasn't the cheapest estimate I had, but he didn't talk to me, and sent me to a website to see the stone he had picked out for me. I could not be happier. he even checked my sprinklers in the rain to make sure they were working. He didn't just replace them, he made a design and created something beautiful.

They did a wonderful job. They completely cleaned up after themselves. The workers were so polite. They were willing to take the time to explain everything and answer all my questions.

I called Smith Lawn and Tree one morning and the problem was fixed early the next morning. It took just over an hour to complete. I was charged 1 1/4 hours labor plus parts and tax. No trip charge. I think their rates are reasonable and I am happy with the quality of workmanship. Jose was very nice and very good at his job! Just fyi, this job included cutting out smaller pipes to get to the larger one, which was the source of the leak.

I had some problems with my previous company in stating that our bare spots were a result of too many chemicals in the lawn. I called Smith Lawn & Tree and they were able to diagnose the problem as being an issue with my sprinkler system instead of the treatment. We replaced several of the heads of the sprinklers and the bare spots went away. I will be contacting them for a maintenance treatment plan for the future.

The service was excellent and reasonably priced. The workers were efficient and responsive.

Jud showed up promptly to give an estimate for the work and was very helpful in offering suggestions on how to improve the inadequate system that we had. The estimate was received the next day and I called and scheduled the appointment. Tim and his helper showed up early and started work right away. Jud came out briefly to discuss with Tim what needed to be done. I talked with Tim periodically throughout the day about their progress. He listened carefully to any concerns I had about the old system and addressed them all. They also had to pull up some flagstone to place some additional heads and did an excellent job at putting the stone back. They ended up staying several hours longer than anticipated but the estimate was honored. We are very pleased with the new and VERY improved sprinkler system.

Federico and his two man team cleared the overgrown area of around 80 to 90 percent of the trees as well as trimming the remaining trees of low hanging limbs on the first day. On the second day they removed several trees from the remaining area including 2 large trees and a large Pecan limb; they also cleared the trash trees that had been growing in the area and trimmed numerous limbs on remaining trees. I had asked that they spread the chips over as wide an area as possible and they did a very good job of doing this (a task that is not always so easy). By the way, Smith Lawn and Tree has an awesome chipping machine that is a tremendous asset to their tree maintenance operation; it had no problem "eating" the large Pecan limb which was up to10 to 12 inches in diameter. The Smith Lawn and Tree cost may not be the lowest price but the people doing the work are diligent and thorough and well worth any "perceived" extra cost.

OMGosh Russell is wonderful! I contacted Russell and he came out to give me a bid on what I was wanting. He listened and gave me his thoughts. Russell is very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. As promised he emailed me a price within 2 days. I called him and we set a day and time to do the work. Russell showed up on time with his wonderful crew. I must say his crew is just as wonderful as Russell! Very polite and super hard workers! I basically stayed out there the whole time and it did not bother them at all. They listened, answered all my questions, and were very helpful with suggestions. The wax mrytles are beautiful. I was most impressed with the clean up after the job was over. It was quite a mess and I was a bit nervous..I had absolutely nothing to be nervous about! The guys did an excellent clean up!!! After they were through the place looked better than before they came! They really went out of their way. Thank you so much!
