Terminex purchased the smaller company that we had originally contracted with. Unfortunately, we never received any notice about the purchase and there was some confusion with regard to our billing and the work done. It took about 6 weeks to resolve anything - which was unacceptable - but I finally spoke with a manager who understood why we were upset and corrected the issues. We have restarted with our service and everything is going much better.

They charge $40 a month for their service. I've been using them for years and they've always done excellent work for me. If I have any problems or if I see ants or something, I call them and they come right out, usually the next day.
Description of Work: I use Terminix for pest control. They come quarterly for pest control and once a year for termite control.

I had a yearly scheduled check up due. Made the appointment for a day during the week, the service person was to be here between 1 and 3. I lost 3 hours of work waiting for him. He showed at 5:00 pm!!!!!! I called the company and demanded to speak to a supervisor or manager. They said one would call me back, no one ever did. Then they arbitrarily reset another appointment and had the nerve to tell me if they do not come and inspect, they will have to terminate my contract. LOL! Go ahead. Horrible customer service! been a long time since I was treated so badly. I will be looking on Angie's list for a new pest control company, for sure.

The salesman came out to sell us a contract. We signed for two different services: regular service (all bugs) and termite service. Was told that they would come out and inspect and fill in the "peep" holes and it was "part of my contract". The monies for the two services are on auto withdrawal. This was November 2013. They came out filled in the peep holes, screwed in two 1 inch pieces of metal to block openings in my garage and screwed a screen over the dryer vent. They also sprayed. Four months later got a very nasty call from their Pantego office saying I was charged $815 above the contract and still owned $650 and needed to pay immediately. When asked why they told me it was for "repair work". They referred me to a work order for the work online. I logged in and pulled the work order. It said "inspection only". When I called and asked for a work order that showed the work done he sent me a letter with an intent to put a lien on my home. The paperwork called it a "Mechanics" lien. I called several times before the branch manager would talk to me. He told me to pay the $650 by the end of the month or he would put a lien on my house. The branch manager's name is Robert Miller. When I asked him if he truly intended to put a lien on my home he said,"If you don't pay me the money I will." When I told him all I wanted was a break down of the work that qualified for a $815 charge he refused to give it to me. I went online and paid the $650.00. I then told him it was paid and told him that NO ONE had been out to spray my home since November when I signed the contract (it was now April). He said he'd send someone to spray -- he never did. I waited two weeks and called and cancelled my contract due to work not performed. Two days ago I got ANOTHER bill from them. I am disputing this now.
Description of Work: The branch manager threatened to put a lien on my home for work "repair work" not performed on my home. They never came back to spray after contract was signed.

I contacted them for flea problems I've been having. I own a Boarding business and a lot of dogs been coming and going. And needed this problem solved. They did the outside of my business, but couldn't do the inside due to the amount of dogs I had. It's not there fault at all. I just cant find a place to put my animals while there inside treating. They need to spray all inside and the chemicals were to much hazzard for the dogs. So they did only the outside. Again it's not there fault, it's mine. I am very pleased at there services. And would diffinatly tell others about them!

I’ve been using them now for 20 years. They’ve also always been very good taking care of termite damage and repairs and stuff like that. They are calm and do the job. I think they are excellent. They are good on price but I don’t have anything to compare it to.

I would never use them again. We had a contract for a year. Next to the last month they were supposed to come, he wrote in the wrong date. When they came back it was supposed to be the end of the contract, they charged me for it. They wouldn't make good. I wrote them off. At that time we were having problems with carpenter ants and all kinds of ants. They didn't go up into the attic.
Description of Work: Terminix exterminated our home. They would come and spray on the inside and outside.

Mark came for the inspection visit. He was on time, thorough, very professional and thoughtful. What I thought were termites turned out to be carpenter ants. He also found evidence of rats in attic over the garage. He was so reassuring and I felt was recommending the best plan for me. While he was still here he made an appointment for a treatment technician to come the next day. Greg came the next day at 8:00 a.m. and did the spraying for the carpenter ants and placed traps in the attic for rats. Fast, thorough, and was done in a short time. The area I am in is very prone to have termites and I will be protected for that service also. I already knew that and feel very good about the service they provided. I will stay with them and from my experience will recommend them to others. My neighbor has used them for 20 plus years.

We've had a real good experience with the actual people that have come out to the house to spray and do the actual work. We've had issues with their billings because we had a special for $20 off if we were Angie's List customers. I've talked to managers and gotten it worked out but it has been inconvenient. We signed up for a year.

I have used the same service man for at least 10 years. The company has tried several times to move him to another location in the city. Several of my neighbors and I have strongly resisted. Using him to evaluate the service of the company, he has always been timely, efficient, responsive, and personable. His service has been very through. The corporate office has been very average to work with. The overall was marked down because of the office staff.
Description of Work: Inspected the house and treated in likely locations where insects might be found. Also, examined the exterior and treats the yard.

This was 3rd visit of an annual contract. Service has been satisfactory. They do a little less than a previous company but the results are essentially the same and the price is about $60 less per treatment. Don't know if the price will increase after the 1st year. The servicing technicians have been professional and very courteous and friendly. One thing I do wish they would do is give earlier advance notice of date of scheduled service. However, it is easy to make a quick call to change the date of service through their automated system.

I have been a customer of Terminix's for about a year and a half after firing the previous pest control company who was sitting at a neighbor's house for exactly 20 minutes, then driving up to my mailbox to leave an invoice for services that were never performed. Although, Terminix's quarterly fee was much higher than the previous competitor, I figured for more money I should get better service. So, I thought. For the first year I had pretty good service with the same service technician. I don't know where he ended up but he no longer services my house. That technician was replaced with someone and for the next couple of services he did just fine. No problems there. However, Terminix's scheduling needs serious improvement. Back in October 2013 I received an email from Terminix stating my next service date and time. This is a service that I much appreciate because I can quickly set up a calendar entry and go about my day. I took time off of work to let the technician in my home for services but he never showed up. Contacted Terminix and I was told my appointment date was not the one they originally emailed me but was a few days later. So why send me an email with a day and time if Terminix is going to change it anyway? Either way, the technician came out and treated my exterior as I was not available to take more time off of work to let him in. Shortly after the "rescheduled" service date I received an online survey regarding the last appointment. I never mentioned about the service scheduling issue but did mention that Terminix might re-evaluate their pricing structure as they are receiving the highest profit margin from one of the smallest homes in the area. Within the next 24 hours I had about 3-4 missed calls on my home phone. It was my technician asking what he did wrong on his last service. I tried to inform him that the issue was not of his service but that of Terminix as company-wide. Apparently, his manager jumped all over him trying to get the technician to contact me because I was unhappy. It should have never been the technician to contact me over price. We both had a chuckle and left it at that. On January 19, 2014 I received another email from Terminix telling me my service date of Jan 24, between 3-5pm. I took time off of work and waited around my house Friday afternoon. By 6pm no technician showed up nor did I receive a phone call. Contacted Terminix that night and was told that my appointment is for the 27th and a manager from the area would call me Saturday to discuss the issue and reschedule. That morning I received a call from another customer service rep and was told she would have to place another message in for the manager to call me back. Waited all day to hear back and heard nothing. Then late night on Sunday I received a phone call from the technician stating he was scheduled for the appointment for the 27th. I just hung up the phone because obviously Terminix thinks their customers are fools and can be pressured into things they don't want. I specifically told the customer service rep that if I did not hear an explanation soon of why Terminix reschedules for no reason, then I would fire them. I guess my warning was not enough. Called Terminix this morning (27th) and was directed to some guy who quickly listened to my complaint. Then he quickly brushed my concern to the side and began spewing text from a manual somewhere and trying to spit out service deals and promotions. "Perhaps you did nto hear me say that I want to cancel my contract with Terminix because they cannot show up on time." He apologized and then kept asking to reduce my next service price. Terminix you are not going to buy me off. Provide a service and stick with it. Don't buy off your patrons and treat them as fools. Then what came next completely appalled me. The guy on the phone actually told me that I changed the appointment time. By then I became extremely agitated as they just called me a liar. I tried to inform the guy that I in no way said a word to Terminix until after they stiffed me on their initial contact with me. He apologized again and sounded again, as if he were reading a manual to complete the call. I just said to cancel my contract and we can both go our separate ways. I was told my contract was cancelled and to have a nice day. I called Fort Worth Pest Control and they are 20% cheaper than Terminix and available the next day for service. Explained to them my situation with Myers Pest Control and Terminix and was informed no shady business like that happens with Ft Worth Pest. I will try them out and see if they can do better than my previous two service providers.

I thought I had signed up for monthly service with monitoring of bait posts for $2300.00... The posts were not buried deep enough so our gardner came with the lawn mower and took the top off one and scuffed another. The person who sold us the package said they would monitor the baits monthly, they have never monitored the baits. They also said they would spray the inside of the house, that never happened either. I week after the baits posts were buried I recieved a card taped to the front door stating we had missed our first appt... I assumed that was the appt for an inhouse spaying, however I never made an appt with them and they didnt call to let me know they were coming. When I called to reschedule the appt for this costly monthly monitoring and spraying said they could not come back to the house again until september, my response was that I was paying for a monthly service and that would make it two months later. Dozens of calls to the company got me no where fast..... left me extremely dissappointed and feeling totally ripped off.

I have used Terminix since 2008 and in the beginning the service was stellar. I had the same technician for several months (which was very important to me) and he was punctual and efficient. In Spring of 2009 a different technician was assigned to my account and from then until the present I have at lease six different technicians. Additionally, the chemicals that they use to treat the exterior of my home has been less and less effective. When I inquired as to why, I was told that it was a company-required change and that they would be glad to come to my house to re-apply as often as needed (I did not want additional visits/treatments, I wanted the ants gone without having to have additional visits/re-applications). Terminix is great at what they do, however, I also want a service provider with whom I can establish a relationship with; and know whom to expect in my home each visit.

They didn’t kill the rats. They would put out traps but no poison due to my dog. I offered to remove my dog from the home but they said no. I had rats inside my home! Eventually I went out of town, put my dog into boarding and put out my own poison that I purchased from Lowe’s. That took care of it.
Description of Work: Started using them in November 2013. It ook quite awhile for estimator to get back to me, 10-12 days. Came out and repaired all little holes and areas that rats could get into house through.

It went very well. Terminix does a good job of notifying me on upcoming inspections. They're also good at following up and making sure that I schedule any follow-up visits.
Description of Work: It was a quarterly inspection of the slab and exterior for signs of termites. No equipment or supplies were used. The inspector found no signs of termite activity. Because I was not home at the time of the inspection, an inspector followed up on 10/12/13 for an interior inspection. He found no signs of termite activity on the exterior, interior, or the attic.

Just want people to be aware of the billing issue. I paid in advance for annual service which gives me 4 visits, well, before the end of my annual service they managed to schedule a 5th visit that was not asked for and I end up with a $106 dollar bill for that service. They should have a better system to allocate the 4 visits in one year and not end up leaving the customer with a bill for a service that was not asked for. In this day and age, this should not be happening with the use of computers. Deceiving.

First of all I had NO issues with the actual person that came out to do the spraying for our pest control. He was on time and knowledgeable. What they don't tell you is that someone comes BEFORE the actual guy who sprays to give you an inspection aka, sell you Termite protection. Termites were found in my yard, but not in my home. I will say the billing nightmare I had has been resolved, but it took a few weeks and was very frustrating. It was resolved, but was extremely frustrating and was finally resolved by a branch manager because everyone gave me a different number and a different story. Make sure you know what you should be charged before they leave your home and make sure that matches what they actually charge you. I will continue to use them because I'm under contract, but if there is a billing issue every month, I'm not so sure about renewal. I give it a fair review because the actual gentleman that did the pest control deserves that.

Work quality is good but limited choice if you want to schedule an appointment within a week.
Description of Work: Very expensive. I get to see them 3 or 4 times a year and am charged close to $60 a month. Most of the time they are reactive because of the infrequent visits. It has always been that I have to identify a problem first and then tell them and then they take action. Their work has been good qualityt. Just wish they were a bit more frequent than just a single vist in a quarter for the amount of money charged.
