Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company for: $89 for 2 Hours of Professional Electrical Labor! He had a simple job to do. He spent 2 hours "trying" to figure out the electrical issue; when all it was flipping of the switch.

Description of Work: I used a coupon for 2 hours of electrical work; I wanted them to replace an overhead closet bulb with a pull chain, with a closet fixture with a switch. They told me they could not do this and recommended an internet gadget workaround. I still haven't completed the project but will find someone else when I do come back to it.

Description of Work: I paid a $100.00 for a whole house electrical inspection on this house that we bought in April 2013. JBL came out and we talked I told him what I wanted and he said fine the $100 would come off the total price. He did not inspect anything later I found out why. He failed to disclose he was the electrician hired to make the very same electrical repairs I needed by the realtor before we bought the house. The wiring he did in the garage is a hazard. Open wiring without supports strung throughout the garage looks like it was just tossed into the rafters and connections made. I feel he was less than honest and if the work in the garage is an example of his workmanship I would rater do it myself. I called JBL because they are on your list, just like I joined Angie's list because I didn't know anyone here to ask about reputible contractors.

Description of Work: I purchased a Deal for $99 for two hours of electrical work. JBL Electrical Services replaced 8 smoke alarms and changed our outdoor flood light fixture to LED. The electrician found that 2 of our smoke alarms are not tied into the rest of the system. We agreed I would get a separate estimate to correct this later. All work was satisfactory.

Description of Work: They were awesome- they fixed my ceiling fan and 2 lights for me. Such nice people and very efficient.

Description of Work: They were unable to provide the service I needed but referred me to a great company that took care of everything. They were very professional, courteous and helpful.

Description of Work: He checked all of our electrical outlets and the main panel in our garage.. also explained about the circuit breakers, re-setting, etc..

Description of Work: They installed electrical lights in the closet and installed some electrical outlets. They showed up on time, they did all the work; we found the work satisfactory.

Description of Work: I hired them to help figure out the reasons for fuse being blown in an old lady's house from our church. She did not have the means to hire expensive contractors so I hired them to inspect and fix the problems. They found poor wiring done by non-licensed electricians and fixed all the problems. They provided excellent description of all electrical circuitry in the house and helped her understand where she can use electrical heaters and where she cannot. Great inspection and fix!!!

I wanted him to install a thermostat for my cooler, which he had never done before. He didn't charge me a cent because I wanted to learn how to do it. His installation was flawless. He also installed a new switch in my bedroom for the outlet and didn't charge me. He also installed two bathroom light fixtures -- smooth as it can can. I would called him again for any electrical problems that I have again. I would consider him 'my' electrician now.

Description of Work: I want all to know that Mr. Shivley is one of the most reliable, honest and kinowledgeable persons I have ever met, especially in his field of electrical work. He arrived at the appointed time, listened to my tale of woe, analyzed the situation and suggested alternative (which worked) and DID NOT CHARGE ONE RED CENT. It was all a matter of general maintainence on my part of the circuit breakers and he did not charge me anything for the pertinent advice. I really hope that Angie's list puts him at the top of list of persons to call for electrical work. Well done!

Description of Work: Excellent service. Mike was polite and very nice. My husband had jerry-rigged a couple of outlets and 5 plugs blew out. With the high power equipment running this 1976 house was not wired for this, but Mike fixed everything. Perfect. We are going to move and rent this house out and we wanted everything to be perfect for the renter. and Mike sure did a nice job. Now we can breathe with relief that the electrical is completely safe and working really well. Thanks. He will be our electric service man as long as he is in business!!
