He comes in once a month for various home repairs. He is very professional. He comes when he is supposed to be here. He confirms his appointments. He is never late. He does good work when he's here. He is slow, but thorough. I recommend him. He does good, quality work. He is trust-able, dependable, and reasonably priced. He does a really good job when he does it. The price is reasonable.

Jimmy arrived on time (he always does) and discussed with me the problems I was having with the system. He spent some time troubleshooting the system to pinpoint exactly what needed to be fixed, then fixed and tested the repairs. He even programmed the new sprinkler control box. As usual the work was completed to a high professional standard.

Jimmy came out and performed a lot of different odd jobs that I don't have the skill/time/strength to perform myself such as changing locks, shortening and hanging blinds, and filling/re-drilling holes for drawer pulls, things like that. He did an outstanding job on all of it, as usual.

When I submitted my original report I neglected to add an important fact. On a return visit, I called Jimmy in the morning and he actually came out almost immediately even though he had scheduled the day off. I wanted to add this as it reflects the responsiveness and level of service he provided.

The project started really strong with Jimmy asking alot of questions. Jimmy arrived to the house when he stated he would. As the project continued (approximately 2 weeks) Jimmy became more relaxed with arriving at the pre-determined time. Jimmy stated that he always removes the door frames and baseboards to ensure tight tolerances from the floor to the walls. When the door frames and baseboards were installed there was a tremendous amount of prep work required to fix the holes and wood splintering off before we could paint. The overall tile work had the tight grout lines I requested (1/16"). Unfortunately, after Jimmy left and we started to install the tub hardware we realized that Jimmy had cut the tiles to short and we had to replace tiles around the water turn on valve.. Jimmy cut all the concrete boards and tiles inside the bathroom area. He "cleaned" the bathroom area at the completion of the job, but dust had traveled to both bedrooms and beyond, EVERYTHING had to be wiped down. When we removed the light fixtures from the bathroom area there was at least 1/8" of dust inside that fell on our heads. With any future tile work we have done we will mandate that ALL cutting will be done outside.

Jimmy is solid. He is highly professional, knowledgeable, and very responsive. I was not only able to get my problem fixed, but learned a great deal from him, which is the true test of value - I think. I did not give price the highest rank because, although Jimmy's rates are reasonable and he is very conscientious about them, we had to deal with some unexpected side effects and it took a couple of tries. This is not a ding on Jimmy's abilities at all as he is very savvy and circumspect. But we were dealing with wood that has carried a load under 35 years of blazing Texas attic summers and it was a challenge to take care of it. He was always careful to take the most modest workable approach to keep the situation under control and I learned a good deal from him. I would definitely recommend Jimmy. Jimmy's business is new, but he is a model professional, and we have already recommended him to our friends. The items most important to us and that stood out the most: (1) He arrived EXACTLY on time each day. (2) Where possible, he provided alternatives to accomplish the task and gave us pros/cons. (3) He did excellent work and really paid attention to the details. (4) He cleaned the work area thoroughly each day and left the space cleaner than he found it. (5) He estimated time/expense up front, and we found his fees very reasonable given the time and effort he put into the projects. (6) Professional and courteous with a great attitude. A great contractor, and we wouldn't use anyone else if Artisans Home Repair is available.

I initially hired Jimmy because I needed the cat door installed right away and couldn't wait for my regular guy to become available. I'm really glad I hired Jimmy for the cat door project. I wanted to install the cat door in a single pane of my French door without making it look too tacky. Some suggestions I'd had from others were unappealing to me. Jimmy listened to my idea and found a way to make it work in a very excellent way. Before he even came to the house I had emailed him the website for the door and he reviewed the specs and the installation instructions. He was prepared before he even arrived. He was able to schedule me within a couple days of contacting him because I told him it was urgent. He arrived promptly and clearly described his fees and how he calculated his time. I am very impressed with the thought he put into the detail of the cat door project - removing the existing glass, filling the leftover space after the cat door was inserted with plexiglass, filling with vinyl for insulation. It turned out to require more engineering and effort than originally thought because he discovered wood rot in the door. But he cleaned that out and filled it in, modified his original plan a bit and made it work. He communicated with me throughout the process. He cleaned up after himself and made sure I was satisfied with the work. I'm very pleased with the outcome. As an afterthought I asked him to install the lock on the closet. It took some extra effort to get it to fit, but he did a great job on that also. I will definitely use Jimmy again - especially if I have a project that needs to be thought through and made to look good.

He was very conscientious of his time. I was very impressed by his honesty and work ethic. He's able to do most projects (electrical, plumbing, etc) and is upfront when he can't complete it himself. I will certainly use him again the future for additional needs.

He was prompt, courteous, professional, honest, his rates are fair, he is very up-front about what each task may involve, and is in general a pleasure to do business with.

I have recommended him to all my friends, and family members. Even my mother in law, who is almost impossible to please, has hired him to come fix several items for her. He is hard working, and produces quality results.
