Description of Work: Repaired our iron fence. Very helpful and great job!

Description of Work: Fixed metal gate forced off it's hinges and replaced the latch. Adjusted another gate attached to a stone fence which could no longer latch due to changes in ground over time.

Description of Work: I first called Marvin Galan on May 15, 2014,Thursday, and left a message on his cell phone. I know I dialed the right number because he identified himself as Marvin. I told him I found him on Angie's List and that he has helped me in the past with my automatic gate opener. He failed to return my call so I called him on Friday, May 16, twice. Marvin still failed to return my call. This was very important to me because the gate is to my driveway, my entrance and exit from my home. As of this date, Marvin has not returned my call. I did call another company from Angie's List, and he was able to help me on Monday, May 19, 2014.

Description of Work: I spoke with Marvin Galan at least 3 times about the work. The work was not urgent & we would wait for the best weather day. We discussed the paint, condition of the fence, etc. I hoped he could do the work in 1 day to save him 2 trips. He was very cordial & agreeable, & never mentioned any additional costs. He came to the house on 3/18 about 3:00 pm and that's when he told me about additional costs. I asked why he didn't mention that up front in our previous phone calls. He said he did. I honestly didn't recall any additional dollars mentioned. Perhaps a misunderstanding. I prefer to know the costs Upfront. Perhaps he should be more specific. Perhaps I should ask more detailed questions. We decided to Not do the job. At that point I was not comfortable with the situation.

Description of Work: Big Deal - M G Welding & Fabrication 7530 Westlyn Drive, San Antonio, TX 78227 When I set up my appointment with MG Welding, I was given an estimate for my fence of $540 in addition to my Big Deal expense of $299. I have a small amount of fencing, so was surprised to receive such a high estimate. When I spoke to Marvin, he informed me that the first 100 ft. was at a very reduced price. So that the additional work was nearly twice the cost. He mentioned that because I lived in Boerne (so far from SA) he wasn't sure why Angie's List advertised the deal outside of SA. and that this would also add to the my cost of the work. I cannot afford to have this work done. I am requesting a refund on this Big Deal.
