Marvin was the first person who contacted me about my project and I informed him that I wanted to get two more bids before I made my decision. After getting the two other bids I ended up going with Marvin at MG welding. He completed my job within the same week that I contacted him. I would TOTALLY hire him again =)

We drafted a contract and agreed on all that would be done. Things went along pretty well until near completion when Mr. Galvan began to have trouble getting the power system to work correctly. He became upset because it was taking too long and he continued to complain until he finally got things working. I made the final payment and he left. 4 or 5 days later the gate stopped working and the keypad on the inside never worked after he left. I contacted Mr. Galvan by phone and text several times, but he said he was very busy and would get to me when he could fit me in. When we finally set a date for his return, he went on site and was unable to fix the problem. He said that someone had caused a circuit board to burn out and that the battery charger was not working because someone had been fooling with the wiring. NO ONE TOUCHED THE SYSTEM BUT HIM! He said the circuit board was covered by the manufacturer warranty but he wouldn't do anything without being paid more money. During our conversation, he stated that his company warranty was only for 30 days, but, after installation, he never said anything about a 30-day warranty, orally or in writing, until there was a problem. He only said, if I had a problem to give him a call and he would take care of it. My last conversation with Mr. Galvan was Tuesday, March 7, 2023. The conversation started off cordially, but, after he pressed for more money and tried to blame everything on some mystery person, I made it clear that a craftsman takes responsibility for his work and that I shouldn't have to pay anything more when my $7100 gate worked for less than one week. The conversation became more heated and Mr. Galvan said, "I'm through with you," and that he would do nothing more to correct the situation and hung up on me. Through Mr. Galvan's foot-dragging, stalling, and failing to promptly make repairs, he created this situation.

The build was well programmed and completed. I was kept informed every step of the way. The builder offered suggestions to help my ideas along. Very professional and thorough. I am very pleased with the results.

Loved how my fence turned out. Marvin is a true professional. I highly recommend him to anyone wishing to get a fence installed. The quality of his work is outstanding. I requested for a privacy wooden fence on both sides and a wrought iron fence for the front. I was also getting the driveway repaved at the same time I wanted the fence up. Marvin made it a point to coordinate with the other contractor to ensure the best job was done the first time and neither party had to return a second time because they could have accidentally gotten in one another’s way. Marvin provided follow up communication along the process to ensure that I was informed on why something was or was not occurring. He got the job done! I receive many compliments when people drive by.

Marvin is a well equipped professional who knows what he's doing. He removed the 10' driveway gate, dug up and replaced the swing post with a larger post and more concrete, then rehung the gate. He then cut into a fence section at the back of the property, installed a new fence post, fabricated a gate from the material he had removed from the fence, and then hung the gate. All work was spray painted with primer and then matching black paint. The worksite was left clean. He works with a practiced efficiency that makes everything look easy. Marvin is an excellent contractor who responds promptly, shows up when he says, and conducts himself in a professional manner. I would hire him anytime.

Marvin was terrific. He came to assess the job, on the day he said he would, provided an estimate, and made the decision, despite the wet and cold weather we were having, to complete the job at the time. Granted, this was a small project for Marvin, but I sincerely appreciated his willingness to help us with this small task, and complete it at the time of estimate, because I don’t have the tools nor training to perform the welding myself. Marvin responded to my request for a quote and then asked me to provide a Picture of the problem. He went and got the supplies he needed to make the repair and came back and fixed it right away. I could not be happier with this work and his kind and professional manner.

I called Marvin on 4/10/2018 and he came out the next day to take a look at the job to give me an estimate. I explained that I wanted the railing to be of Spanish motif and have a gate such that we could walk from the porch to the back yard. I additionally told him that I wanted heavy gauge or solid steel posts such that the railing would not move if someone leaned on it. He had a catalog with him that had every handrail and baluster under the sun. I was able to find exactly what I wanted. He went out to his truck and in about 10 minutes had an estimate to do the job. I gave him a 50% deposit and he then left. He explained to me that he had to order all the materials since what I had selected was all special order. I additionally requested that the railings be powder coated gloss black. At that time he indicated that powder coating would add an additional 10-14 days to the fabrication process, I was OK with that. After about 2 weeks I checked in with him to check on the progress, he told me that all the railing parts had arrived and he was in the fabrication process at that time. The total length of the railings was over 40' so this was a lot of balusters to weld. About 2 weeks later he called me to let me know the railings were complete and we scheduled a day for installation. On the day of installation he and a helper arrived on time and it took about 5-6 hours to install. The job turned out better than I could have ever imagined, everyone that sees our porch has remarked what a beautiful railing. I could not have been more satisfied. Prior to calling MG fabrication, I read each and every review he had on Angie's List. During the installation I was chatting with Marvin about some of the reviews posted on Angie's List that mention he was slow in responding and I told him after reading them in my opinion most of them had unrealistic expectations. You have to remember that Marvin does all the fabrication and installation himself, so you have a guy that has been welding all his life working on your job. His company has no salespersons, or other employees that run up his overhead. He additionally told me that he located his shop on the west side of San Antonio where his monthly leasing expenses were very cheap. I liked everything about this guy and his company, his estimate was less than I expected and I gave him the job without getting any more estimates, he has a great business model, essentially no overhead, and that model was reflected in the estimate I received, and the workmanship is impeccable. Once my wife and I can decide on how we want the stairs to look we are going to meet with Marvin and have him fabricate our stairs. Thanks Marvin

Marvin came in the morning to give me an estimate on replacing 3 damaged wrought iron stems on my electric gate. He said that he could do the work later that day after he finished other appointments. He showed up later, just like he promised, and did an excellent job replacing the damaged wrought iron on my gate. He is highly skilled at welding and his price is fair. I would recommend Marvin for any wrought iron/metal repair.

It went really well. I had been holding on to a bar cart for years while I tried to find someone to replace the bent casters. I didn't know what type of service I needed until I asked my cabinet maker and he said a welder. I did not think I would find a welder on Angie's List but I did. I called M.G. Welding and spoke to Marvin, then I sent him a picture of the cart. He said I could bring it by the next day. I brought it we discussed what I need done and agreed on a price and he fixed it within 30 minutes. I am very pleased with the work.
