Due to the cost, we had 1/2 the house painted and then a few months later we did the other 1/2. Alan was our contact and he was extremely professional and polite. He also helped us pick out all of the paint colors. He had great design input while also being understanding of the style we were looking for. We had two different crews do our painting. I would say I preferred the work of the first crew, but both did a great job.

I contacted Kent and he promptly scheduled a crew to come out, along with the Sherwin Williams rep, to find out what he could do to get rid of the stain. Just a few days later, they re-primed and repainted, and now the stain is completely gone. Kent is honest and trustworthy, and he hires great people. I highly recommend Southern Painting.

The work was delayed due to excessive rain for much of the spring. Corey was very accommodating and communicated well while trying to reschedule the job on more than one occasion. Once the weather cleared and the work was started, his crew was efficient and competent. The crew showed up when scheduled and completed the work within the allotted time. They completed the wood replacement work and put two coats of paint over the entire exterior. They were very gentle on the landscaping around the house. Clean-up was excellent with minimal effect on the plants.

Very well. Quality of work is actually better than expected. Work onsite was expedient yet throrough.

Initial consultation was fine, once work started, I had to explain several times areas that needed special attention and which paints to use where. Painting quality on the interior and exterior is good; however, painter used incorrect paint in closets after I specifically told him twice which paint to use and the correct paint was listed on the job order. There are several places on the exterior where paint got on the brick. Painter cleaned one place immediately but did not take the time to walk around the house and check for other areas of new paint on the brick. After noticing the new paint on the brick I called repeatedly to have someone come out and attempt to remove the paint and got the run around for over 6 weeks. No one confirmed a date for a review of the areas or came out to work on the paint spots. I still have paint on the brick that will likely now never come off. I would not recommend and will never use this company again.

Roofers removed our gutters when installing a new roof after recent hail storms, exposing a lot of rotting wood along the roof line drip edge. After the new roof was installed, but before installing new gutters, I had Southern Painting give me a bid to repair this damaged wood around the entire perimeter and to paint the entire exterior (western-facing siding had been damaged by the hail storm as well). Alan came out within four days of my request for an estimate. He was very thorough, conscientious, and professional. Alan provided me a professional, but not pushy, overview of Southern Painting along with his estimate. He carefully reviewed various options, answered all my questions, gave me a very competitively priced bid, and never pressed for my business. When my neighbor had used Southern Painting a few weeks prior, I had paid careful attention to the quality of their work, engaged some of their workers in conversation, and was very impressed with their work and how well they represented their company. This, together with Alan's professional approach, had me sold. I called Alan later that same day and told him to put me on their schedule. Their crew supervisor, Alexis, called within a couple of hours and I was pleased that he could put me on their schedule for ten days out. To my delight, the same crew that had painted my neighbor's house, and with whom I had interacted, arrived on the scheduled day to power wash the eaves and replace all the damaged trim along the roof's edge. They completed the painting the following day. Team leaders Alex and George were outstanding. They carefully explained each phase of the work they planned to do, answered all my questions, and took extra care with a couple of small things that needed special attention. I could not be more pleased with Alex, George, and their team. They were a pleasure to have around. They did a great job with the repair work and painting. I told them that the finished product looked even better than when we had the house built nearly 20 years ago. I highly recommend this company for exterior painting. When I need interior painting done in a few years, I will not hesitate using Southern Painting again.

I was referred to Southern Painting by a friend who had been very pleased with their work. Initially I met with Regional Mgr Alan Laurino to discuss the scope of the project and my desired results. He was so helpful explaining options and making suggestions of colors, textures and small changes in the room that would help me achieve the look I wanted. I felt like he really listened. I received the estimate the next day, which detailed all the work to be done from tape and bedding, wallpaper removal, re-texturing and painting walls, ceilings, doors and trim. I was having the living room, dining area, den and entryway done. Alan was always available for consultation as I conducted my own in-depth color selection process! A true delight and professional. When I indicated I was ready to proceed with the project, I was contacted by the Operations Mgr, Alexis Garcia to schedule the work to be done. He said he would meet with me the first morning of the project to walk through everything before the painters got started. As promised, the painters arrived right on time. They were friendly, courteous and very professional. While Alexis and I talked, the crew moved my furniture and carefully covered all the surfaces. A team of 5, watching them work was like watching a NASCAR pit crew! When I returned from work that evening, I was very pleased at what they had accomplished and that they were confident that the job would be completed the next day. On the second day they again arrived on time and knew exactly what each man needed to do. I left feeling grateful that they understood that this was a big deal to me. Both Alan and Alexis visited the work site at various times during the project. Alexis called me in the late afternoon to let me know that the guys were finishing up and he would meet with me for a final walk through. When I arrived home, the furniture had been put back, the work space was cleaned up and the house looked beautiful! No smudges, no drips, everything was great. It was a real pleasure to work with Alan, Alexis and the Paint Crew. I will recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a truly pleasant and professional painting experience.

After a rocky start, this company really pulled through with a top quality paint job. The staff was professional and well trained. A manager visited daily to check the work and I really appreciated that they didn't hesitate to make a few followup visits for touch-ups. This is a well run organization because the owner has created a great company. Would easily recommend to anybody in the vicinity served by this franchise.

Dave is incredibly responsive. Every time I sent him an e-mail I would quickly get a reply. Dave came out and gave us a very reasonable quote. We scheduled the work. His crew showed up on time and prepped the exterior and fixed a lot of hardie board. the second day they painted and did a beautiful job. His crew was the best - my wife baked them cookies and I gave them coffee on a cold morning and they were such a pleasure to work with. Very polite, professional, and clean. Kudos to Jorge and his team! Dave partners with Apthorp Construction for gutters. Painting and new gutters was the project, but the coordination was seemless and it didn't seem like I was working with 2 different companies. First, I want to say, don't always believe what you read in the reviews on Angie's List. My next door neighbor had recommended Southern painting, telling me he had used them for years. I then went to Angie's List since I am a member, and looked to see what their rating was. Of course, there was one blemish of an F, but I still chose to call them because I'm a believer that everyone can have a bad day. So I called and scheduled for Alan Laurino to come out and give me an estimate. He was fantastic!!!! He even explained to me the scenario as to what had happened with the client that was not happy with him. I can tell you this much. They did everything Alan said they would do. And when Alan came out for final inspection, he even pointed out a few things that I missed that his guys needed to come back and fix and they came out the next day and everything is beautiful. I would recommend Alan, his operations manager Alexis, and his crews to anyone. They were punctual and even completed the job earlier than both Alan and I had discussed. And the color we chose was dead on! Love you guys and keep doing the fantastic job that you are doing!!! Always, Jodie

As a followup to my original negative review, I submit this update: the problems that I originally had with Southern Painting happened. What is important is that the owner Steve MacMeeken addressed my issues and the work completed to my satisfaction. After my diatribe regarding the work done by Southern Painting, Steve MacMeeken, the owner called to resolve any outstanding issues. When he came to the house, fortunately/unfortunately he found even more quality issues that needed to be fixed than I originally complained about. Frankly, Mr. MacMeeken was more than contrite and sincerely apologetic. At one point he actually said if it couldn't be resolved that he would write a refund. My response was, I wanted the house painted as I had contracted. He committed to making everything right, and he did. Steve has been in Plano for many years and is committed to our neighborhoods. Occasionally, an employer gets a crew or employee that needs more supervision to understand the commitment of the owner to their customer. I am convinced from multiple conversations with Steve, as he was out here almost daily evaluating the repair, that this incident has been a continuous topic of discussion with his managers and supervisors. Finally, I am now satisfied with the quality of work and that I now have what I originally paid for. It might be a shame that I had to get the owner involved to resolve my problems, but it is reassuring that once I did that Steve stepped up, owned up, and made things right.

They were real good. We didn't have any complaints about it. They were little bit higher on price.

The representative was punctual in doing an on-site survey of work to be done on 3/17/2015. To date, however, we have not received an estimate, and have decided not to use this contractor.

They did it in a day. We didn't have any problems with them. There are places that were cheaper. They were on time and professional.

I am very disappointed in Southern Painting. I received their flyer from the Allen Home and Garden show this February 2015. Since I live in Tarrent County I called the number closer to me. The representative I spoke with on the phone was not pleasant and when I informed him I could only have an appointment at 5pm or later he informed me sorry we can only schedule until 3:30pm. I am now calling other companies that I received flyers at the Home and Garden show. Two of the companies were able to meet me at 5pm to give me estimates. I guess Southern Painting will be losing my business.

We were very pleased with the service. They were professional and made sure to clean up after themselves and we couldn't have been any happier.

First it all went fine. We worked directly with David MacMeeken. Dave answered all of our questions and gave a fairly competitive quote. Dave was very responsive. But all went downhill after the job was completed. The paint in any of the wood surfaces (cabinets etc.) did not dry for weeks. When we called we were told to wait for a week for it to dry. But weeks went by and the paint kept on chipping off with minor touches. It was so frustrating. Then Southern Painting stopped responding to my queries and refuse to come home to check the issue and kept blaming us for not knowing "how to open cabinets". It went on for sometime. They finally relented and said that it might be a paint issue and not workmanship so they sent the paint for testing. However, it took 4 weeks after multiple reminders to get an answer on next steps. Finally, they agreed that it was not our fault and agreed to change the paint as well as put a clear coat on it. It took more than 8 weeks to get them to the table with multiple frustrating back and forth, They then finished the repair job after 2.5 months from the first job. All looked good till recently one paint chipped off from the mantle when we placed christmas stockings last week. It was an experience from h***. Overall to summarize Southern Painting: Poor Quality, Bad workmanship, Unskilled Labors, Unresponsive. Don't waste your money on them.
