Amazing service and follow through. I found Pool Environments on Angie's List when our pool pump quit working on Easter weekend, I left a message over the weekend and planned to call them first thing Monday to try and get someone to come out as soon as possible. Much to my surprise Cynthia called first thing Monday to get some info and then called back within a half hour to tell me she could get Jim to come by that very afternoon. Jim called to tell me when he would arrive and quickly diagnosed the problem. Luckily it was just a part and he had the replacement part on hand so the repair was extremely fast. I think the overall price was very fair, and as an Angie's List customer the service call fee was also waived! I appreciated the excellent customer service from Cynthia and Jim, and will definitely call them again for my future pool needs.

I had problems with my spa heater and had 2 valves that were leaking, one was cracked. I had called others before for the leaking valves. One actually told me that the leak was not that bad and did not fix it and that he did not work on heaters. Pool Environments service guy really knew a lot about the whole system. He found the problem and told me about the cracked valve. He repaired the valves and thoroughly checked the heater. The cracked valve will need to be replaced eventually, but he was able to patch it up and stop most of the leak. He was thorough, and most importantly, very knowledgeable. Their price was very good, their service call charges were lower than others that had come out before. I have finally found a reliable pool repair service.

It went fine, they were good. We were pleased with response time and the repair, and the price was fairly resonable.

The gentleman I spoke with over the phone is extremely knowledgeable and ethical regarding the quality of work they perform. He warned me of everything that they will need to make compliant with current codes. He agreed to go to see my pool but I never heard back from him.

The first time over the summer when I joined Angie's List they replaced our pool pump and it was a couple of thousand dollars. The price is a little bit higher than what other people quoted me but they are efficient and they come when they say they are going to come. You can always get a hold of them and if something goes wrong they are right there. They walk you through and they take time explaining things to you so it's well worth the price. The quality is astronomical. They always call back immediately and they are very punctual. I cannot say enough good stuff about these guys.

They do a good job. Their prices are fair. They were easy to contact, and if something didn’t work out, we could discuss it to come to a conclusion. I’m happy with their services overall.

Moved into a house with a pool and had no idea how to maintain it. Ted came over and did an outstanding job of doing a knowledge transfer of my pool equipment and how to maintain a pool in general. He was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. The next day Jim arrived to clean out the filter and replace a part that had been damaged within the filter. After he finished his work he took the time to go over with me what was wrong and also offer even more suggestions on what chemicals/products to get in order to make maintaining a pool much less of a hassle. Could not be happier with the results from this company. I highly recommend their services to anyone with a pool!

4/7/11: We diagnosed the problem ourselves, a busted filter cartridge manifold. Pool Environments Services came out, had the part in the truck and our filter system was filled back up and running in under 20 minutes. Wicked fast. Per their standard policy, if we used them for the repair, they take off the $44 diagnosis fee. But we were charged a $55 service call, $198 to replace the manifold, and $125 to disassemble the bulkhead fitting to get to the manifold ... which I would think is the same thing as the replacement work, unless the replacement cost is for the $55 part (as listed online), but either way, the guy was done in 15 minutes and put the system back together and filling back up. When I asked about the pricing, they said that it's "lump Sum" pricing which makes billing simpler and lowers overhead so it's cheaper. But apparently not for me. I was never offered the 10% discount for new customers coupon that's offered here on Angie's list. Nor was their any other compensation offered because I had the filter all apart and pointed out the problem to their technician. If the dude was out here for three hours, diagnosing some tricky problem and he had to really _work_ at it, supposedly the price would be the same because the price is fixed. But he wasn't. So, in my case, I feel the pricing was unjustified. I feel that the $198 "replace manifold" should include "bulkhead removal" since you can't get to it any other way. I feel the quality of the technician's work was very good. --- 5/19/11: I am on my third day of waiting for someone to call me back from Pool Environments. The replacement manifold seems to be working fine, but the pool is not filtering properly. There is no suction from the pool, no blow from the jets, no skimming in the skimmers and Pool Environments says they can come out and clean the filters to make the system breathe better, better suction, better blow. I called Monday. They said I'd get a call on Monday when someone could come out. No one called. I called Tuesday, and got a call back later in the day saying the work was assigned and that a workman would call me. No one did. Wednesday I called again, and they said it was scheduled for Thursday. I asked that it be in the afternoon. They said that the technician would call to confirm. It's now Thursday and no one has called me. I'm now calling other companies.

Excellent. Estimate was performed and delivered in timely maner and work was scheduled and completed quickly. In addition the work was done in a very tidy manner, I was moving the pool equipment location by 40 feet and the yard had to be trenched to do so. Education in pool care was better and clearer than I have had in the past. Also, they made and implemented some quick changes that help with the fact that my pool is not level. I feel they went above and beyond the original scope of work to assure that I had an overall good experience.

It went well. They gave us a discount of 10% and did not charge us the $55 and $44 diagnostic and service call fee.

Overall, the repair was excellent, their responsiveness was great. We just could not justify their huge mark-up on replacing the controller board or replacing it with a better unit. The mark up and installation on their parts is rediculous.

Pool Environments offers a free "Pool School" to Angie's list members. What a worthwhile thing for us to do! We have never had a pool before, and are moving to Texas. Ted gave us well more than the 2 hour time allotted for the school and we learned so much. He even spent time getting something working. Ted carefully explained our pool, its equipment, and all the chemistry involved in the water. There was no cost, and Ted did not push us to buy any new equipment at all. He showed us how to program, clean and understand what we have. We got the benefit of all his years of knowledge and experience. As a result, when we need equipment, we will definitely call Ted!

They were excellent! They were honest in their assessment, quoted competitive and accurate pricing, and showed up on time to complete the job. They were great with communication throughout the process as well.

His estimate was very high. His estimate did include more then I thought I needed, but still was more then the other bids I had.

They performed the job well and the pool looks great.

They failed to follwo up on setting an appointment. Had to wait one week for a call from the technician. He finally called at 4:30 PM as I was heading out the door and said he could come by right then. It wasn't conveinent, so I said no.... he didn't call back for another 3 weeks. By that time I had already had another company take care of my problem

I think they're very good and I like them a lot. Their prices are better than others, they're very responsive, and professional.

Arrived promptly. Worked quickly - much to my satisfaction. Didn't try to sell me anything. Just fixed the problem.

They are one of the few subcontractors on our new home build that I would recommend. They do a great job.
