Description of Work: Had 22" oversized ceramic tile installed in our formal living room. This looks like marble, but without all the headaches associated with upkeep of that natural stone. This was done on the diagonal to give an even more formal look to this living space. The installers did a fantastic job of keeping the space between tiles to an absolute minimum. They even matched the height of contrasting real marble tile that surrounded the opening to our fireplace. Couldn't be more pleased with this installation. Have used Nadine before and will use them again!

Description of Work: They installed approximately 760 square feet of Armstrong Bruce solid wood flooring within two days when the original estimate was four days. They came back the third day to address issues we wished resolved and resolved them all within an hour. Their price was competitive and Ismael worked with us to get it accomplished on-time and within our budget. The free 8' x 5' rug is a nice touch.

Original installation went fine, but see above.
Description of Work: We had carpet installed in two bedrooms in July 2007. We liked it and the company, so we had most of the rest of the house recarpeted in November 2007. This past spring (2010) we noticed that one of the original bedrooms in which they installed carpet started getting waves with raised places. Now even rooms that are not high traffic have the waves and we have not moved any furniture or anything to stretch the carpet. It keeps getting worse. I called them in the summer (2010) and was told that since it was past two years, they could/would not do anything. We like the carpet, but stepping over the raised areas is getting annoying (and dangerous on the stairs), so I'm hiring someone else to come stretch the carpet back out and fix their installation or the carpet mistakes. Because of their poor customer service after the fact, I would not use them ever again. They should at least come look at this as it could be installation or manufacturing problems.

We were extremely happy with the work. We got a good price and the workmanship was very good. The materials they provided were extremely good. They met our expectations and we have no complaints. Their price was competitive. It wasn?t the cheapest but it was extremely good value. They came multiple times and we went with through a couple of different points and they were extremely patient. They worked with us on all our indecisiveness. They actually finished ahead of schedule. They said it would take 3 days and it took 2. We would absolutely use them again.

My daughter had 2 recommendations from friends to check out Nadine's. I accompanied her, and found them to be very professional and helpful. They answered all of her questions, and explained the various types of padding. She was particularly pleased that they recommended the "Smart Strand" for her carpet. Since the installation, her 3-year-old spilled a sippy cup of grape juice on the carpet; and because of the "Smart Strand"; it all came out! Somehow, the wrong carpet pad was put in the delivery truck; but within an hour-and-a-half, they exchanged it for the right padding; and all was well. I was glad to witness, every step of the way. I will be needing carpet, very soon; and I know where I will go, and who I will have do the work!
Description of Work: Came out to the house to measure the area for the new carpet. Came back when the carpet and padding that was ordered, arrived. Removed old carpet. Measured, cut, and installed carpet pad. Measured, cut, and laid new carpet. Completed finishing touches. Cleaned up and carried away the old carpet and padding.

I paid extra for longer pieces of wood, but when the job was complete, I noticed several long boards left unused and short choppy ones installed. They didn't call back to see if I was satisfied, and I had already paid in full. I have other projects that I have to deal with it, so it has not been worth it for me to take on this issue.

First, I went to the store to pick out some samples of what I liked. The owner and salesperson were very helpful and took time to discuss my options with me and teach me about different products, being honest about why I should or should not choose a specific product based on my needs. Second, Alex (the salesperson) came to my house to measure, give me an estimate, and offer advice on the best possible solution for me. Third, the work was scheduled, and the crew showed up ready to go. They are very hard working and did an excellent job installing all three areas. This occurred on separate occasions - one day for the carpet, another day for the kitchen and craft room. I had some minor issues with the grout cracking at some places along doorways and a couple of walls. They immediately sent someone out to remedy the problem for me and to explain why that had happened. I am very happy with the company as a whole. The only thing I didn't like was finding old staples and baseboard nails on the floor after they left. I have small children running around, and this was a potential danger that could have been avoided with more diligent cleaning on their part. However, they did clean up the bulk of the debris very nicely. I would l hire them again in spite of this because I think they do quality work.

I was very disappointed in the installation. One of the reasons we chose them was because the salesperson we worked with really talked up their customer service and their rating with the Better Business Bureau. We put carpet in a room that had new cabinets in it and the installers basically didn?t take any precautions to keep from damaging the brand new cabinetry. I had to talk to them and watch the entire job to make sure that they didn?t damage it any further. I called the salesperson and spoke with him so we got some compensation for it. We were looking to do more work but I won?t be using them now. The quality of the product is good but the quality of the installation was terrible.

The experience was a nightmare. This was supposed to be a 3 day job but it took from November to January to complete. At each stage, something was not done properly and had to be redone. The first day the old floor tile and cultured marble tub surround were to be removed. I had arranged for a plumber to come in afterward to install a new shower valve so they could begin installing the new tile the next day. When he arrived, I discovered they had not removed the cultured marble panels from around the tub so the plumber couldn't do his job. He had to wait an hour or so while Nadine's sent the crew back to finish the job. They also had not removed the linoleum that was under the floor tiles so I said something to the lead installer about that. He told me it wasn't necessary, but I told him that I had specifically requested that this be done and had paid extra for it. The grout between the old tiles had started to crack after a few years and I felt like it was because of the linoleum underneath. He said he would remove it the next day before starting installation. We discovered later that he did not - more about that later in this report. The 3 day job turned into a week and a half (at this stage, at least) because of poor workmanship. Things were not aligned properly and had to be removed and replaced. (We discovered later they were replaced with liquid nails instead of mortar.) The floor grout, which was green, was white in many places. Their installer first tried using a solution on the grout, saying it was designed to remove the white color from the grout. It looked even worse the next day. He wanted to paint the grout, but I told him I didn't pay to have painted grout and I wanted it done right. He removed and replaced the grout. I felt like I had to keep pushing to get a quality fix instead of a quick and inferior one. The plumber returned after the tile was installed to install the new tub fixture. He found the tile was covering the holes he needed to screw them into. He said there would be a problem with just removing that tile and replacing a new one because the cement backer board didn't come far enough down. There wasn't enough there to attach a smaller piece of tile to. The installer tried to tell me that the caulk around the fixture would keep any moisture out, so it wasn't necessary for the cement board to come right up to the shower fixture. Some of the shortcuts and poor quality work weren't discovered until later when much of what he did had to be torn out. Each problem discovered added more time to the installation process. Nadine's management did not give me any resistance as I requested that each problem I discovered be re-done. However, neither did they send someone out to see that the work was being done properly in the first place. They just let the same guy keep on doing inferior work. After a week and a half, the job was finally done. We cleaned up and got things in order in time for the holidays. However, after a few days of use, water started dripping onto our garage floor underneath that bathroom. We quickly discovered it was coming through whenever the toilet was flushed. I called Nadine's and they sent the same installer back out. The toilet was not sealed properly. Re-installation of the toilet had been part of the job and was done by the same crew that installed the tile. At my salesman's instruction, I had purchased an extender for them to use since our old tile had merely been installed around the toilet and the new tile would raise the height of the floor. The installer said they didn't need it and chose not to use it. He said they would just double the wax seal. When the toilet was removed after the leak, we discovered it had not even been touching the new seal they had installed when replacing the toilet. They had not used an extender or doubled the wax seal. Water had been leaking into the space between our bathroom and the garage below for more than a week. When the same installer was sent out (Nadine's again he needed to fix his own mistakes), he simply wanted to reinstall the toilet. I told him everything that got wet needed to be removed. He cut out about 4 sq. feet of garage ceiling and removed a little of the insulation. He assured me that there was nothing else up there that was wet. When my husband came home, he got up on the ladder and felt wet insulation immediately. I called Nadine's and told them I wanted a new installer and wanted this fixed properly. They agreed and sent a new person the next day. To make a very long story a little shorter, the next person they sent was much better. He was a subcontractor who had never worked for them before but seemed to really care about doing things correctly. He had to remove half the bathroom floor, the bathtub, the subfloor, and insulation. Half of the bathroom floor had to be taken down to the studs and was open to the garage for a week during the intensely cold week we had in January. We had him wash the studs with bleach water to sanitize them and then the reinstallation began. At the same time, he fixed a few other things that had not been done properly the first time (like the cement backer board around the tub fixture, etc.) The job that started in November was finally finished in January. During most of that time our house was a construction zone. I had to spend weeks at home in order to have the work done. There has been a great deal of extra work for us and a lot of wear and tear on our house. We still have to clean up after the drywall repairs in our garage and repaint that ceiling. Our new granite countertop has a couple of gashes in it from tools being put up there without anything to protect it. As I was replacing the baseboards after the second installation job, I looked down and saw my linoleum sticking out from under the edges of the tile. The first installer had not done that as he was supposed to either. Once again, I called Nadine's. I explained to Ishmael that I had specifically told the installer I wanted it removed and had paid for it to be removed. It was clearly written on my invoice. Ishmael first tried to tell me, as the installer had, that I didn't really need to have it removed. For the first time in all this, I got angry. I felt I had put up with a lot without complaining or getting upset. I had been firm but patient for three months while they did shoddy work, tore up my house to fix it, and monopolized my time and our upstairs for three months. Ishmael asked if I wanted them to tear out the floor and re-do it. After going through that twice already, I really didn't want to start another round. He offered to reimburse me what I paid for removal of the linoleum plus $50. After all we had been through because of them, I was offended by his offer. I was left in the position of either having to start again with having my bathroom floor torn out and replaced, or leaving it and possibly having to re-do it in a few years if this floor begins to crack like the old one did. I didn't like either option. Ishmael asked what it would take to make me happy, and I told him at this point, he would have to refund all my money to make me happy. He declined and asked me to call back the next day with another suggestion. I turned it around and told him to call me with one and he agreed. That was a month ago and I never heard from him again. Until this last episode, Nadine's had at least been willing to make things right. Although they had never been proactive about seeing that we were receiving a quality job. Now, however, they have apparently stopped doing even that. At this point, they haven't refunded the money we paid to have the linoleum removed, so they certainly haven't done anything to repay us for the time, extra work, and wear and tear on our home that their failure to do things right the first time cost us.

We were happy to have chosen Nadine for such a large job. They re-scheduled our install date without complaint and stuck to the price they had promised even when removing the old floor turned out to be a time-consuming task. The people in the Plano showroom, Ishmael, our contact, and the installers were all top-notch. The installers were especially meticulous and hard-working and trustworthy. We especially liked out Nadine put in new baseboards instead of the quarter-molding all over the house.
Description of Work: Supplied and installed 1870 SF refinished hardwood floor (Mohawk). Removed the previously glued down flooring and baseboards and leveled floors with concrete. Price included installing new baseboards (provided by us) and T-moldings and quarter-round (provided by Nadine). Also provided and installed waterproof sealant in the kitchen area to keep moisture in the slab from damaging new flooring.

Our recent experience with Nadine Floor Co. was very positive. For the renovation of our newly purchased house, they installed hand scraped/engineered maple hardwood floor downstairs, stairway, upstairs game room, and new carpets for all 4 bedrooms. The work was beautifully done! They worked hard on Sat. and Sun. to complete the job, in order to meet the committed schedule. They did extra work to repair the subfloor upstairs preparing for the proper installation. The owner/president, Mr. Moses Neel, was extremely pleasant to work with, and his crew was excellent, as shown in the work done on the stairs and around the corners and door jam, etc. One piece of marble was accidentally broken on the fireplace upstairs during installation, and they sent a guy to repair it promptly after we reported the problem. Overall, we were very impressed by the Nadine Floor Co., with their quality work, great price, and excellent customer service!
