John's Appliance Repair

Our over the range microwave stopped heating. It would make a loud pop and then continue to operate as if nothing was wrong. Unfortunately, while it looked like nothing was wrong, it actually wouldn't heat anything. I called early in the morning and spoke to John. He immediately diagnosed the problem and told me he could fix it. He then explained that the cost to fix the part that exploded would actually be similar to purchasing a new unit. Since the microwave was 5 years old, I opted to purchase a new one. Unfortunately I had to use a different company as John said he didn't do new installs. I would have rather given him the business! I'll definitely keep him in mind when the next appliance breaks!

I have a refrigerator/freezer which would make ice but wouldn't hold it frozen continuously. I had shut off the ice maker for a couple of years and finally decided it needed to be fixed. I found John's Appliance Repair on Angie's List, called in the morning and spoke with John. He made an appointment for that afternoon and arrived within the scheduled time. John was on task, meaning ready to go to work, started right away on his diagnostic work, measuring the temperature on each side and checking how hot the back of the unit was. He made a very quick determination that the control board was bad. My unit is a bit rare, but he had the board in his truck anyway. He changed out the control board, and completed the job. His price was reasonable/fair, the service was very professional and he really knew his business. When he completed the refrig repair I asked about an LG washer/dryer that we would be moving soon. He told me up front that he doesn't work on LG equipment but he took the time to give me a referral and to explain what needed to be done before the move in order to protect the units. I will definitely call John's Appliance Repair again and will give his name to my friends that might need appliance repair work. Excellent experience!

Our total was only the cost of the service call. Plus, we got a 90 day warranty. I was very happy with the service. I very much appreciated the honesty of the repairman. He could have lied and pretended that there were major repairs needed to make a quick buck. He was very honest and straightforward. I will definitely call this company again the next time I have issues with appliances.

John worked with me to schedule a service call - he had a technician ready to respond that same day but due to my schedule I had to schedule it for the following week. Technician Aaron and a female technician-in-training (LOVED that!) showed up right at the scheduled time. It took them less than 15 minutes to diagnose the problem and less than 30 minutes to repair the washer. They even had the pump that was needed in their truck - which was an energy efficient hybrid (LOVED that) car. Were quick, courteous, and VERY knowledgeable (I could overhear Aaron discussing all the particulars about trouble shooting and finding the problem). Couldn't have been more pleased. Will call them again for sure!

We have a samsung refrigerator and were told from the beginning that they are a little more difficult and expensive to repair so we were prepared for the higher cost of fixing our fridge. Nothing needed to be replaced. They just had to do quite a bit of defrosting but they were prompt and quick. Very happy with the outcome.

John came out and gave us the estimate, and Marcus came over to do the work.They were friendly and honest. We were happy with the service and their quote was competitive.

Great. What an honest person. He told me whoever installed the new part installed it incorrectly and that was why the flame would sometimes go out. That was scary, because the gas was still on.

John answered my call quickly. He arrived promptly the day of the scheduled visit. He addressed my problem and educated me about how to handle it in the future. He was thorough and pleasant, and appeared to take pride in his work. I would use John again for any appliance repair. I get the feeling that if you want to stay on top of appliance maintenance in your household, he would be a good person to have on your team. I would also bend his ear before purchasing a major appliance.

The repairman showed up within the timeframe given, identified the problem and performed the needed work. I will definitely use again.

Did good job, I was pleased with time to repair. A new pump had to be ordered. Problem was diagnosed on Monday and part ordered. Part arrived and machine was repaired on Wednesday.

I called in the morning and by the afternoon, the same day, someone came out to fix our washer. It was making a clinking sound and he knew what it was right away and fixed it in less than an hour.

My oven is older, and he had the element on his truck. I was very surprised. He showed up when he said he would. He didn’t charge more than he said he would

Our dishwasher did not drain. I called John's Appliance Repair and left a message on Saturday. They called back first thing on Monday (7:30am) and Aaron came to the house by 11. The part had to be ordered. They came back on Thursday installed the pump and cleaned all the drains and filters. Aaron was very nice and explained everything. They deserve the excellent rating!!!

It was a great experience. He was here exactly on time and was done in time for me to make it to work. Nice guy.

Everything went better than I expected.

Arrived on time for the appointment time frame---- very professional---- given the age and make of the machine, John provided me with helpful advice on the benefit of considering purchasing a new machine rather than trying to repair the existing machine because of the expensiveness of the replacement parts.

After special ordering a part he expected to need, he discovered that it wasn't necessary. and he told us so! Scrupulously honest... We spent less than half of what we'd expected. We'd definitely recommend him to others.

Made an appointment, John came when he said he would and fixed my oven and replaced my refrigerator's ice maker as it was not repairable. I also asked him about my Maytag washer that was making a loud noise when in the spin dry cycle, he said it's the bearings and not worth repairing. The oven and refrigerator work was expensive, but that's not John's fault, the replacement parts are what nail you. John really knows appliances.

Excellent, Both my washer and Dryer needed to be looked at. They recommended I not do anything with the dryer at this time. The repair would cost more then getting a new dryer and the Washer he fixed while he was here. So nice to find someone that is honest.

They had great service. He was very thorough. He double checked that he could fix it and told me the price ahead of time.

I spoke with John Monday morning around 8:00 AM He said he had someone in my area who would be available around noon. I agreed and at 12:15, Aaron showed up at our door. Aaron quickly assessed the issue and even had the parts with him to complete the job, no need to order anything. He quickly had the refrigerator repaired and back together within 30 minutes and was on his way.

Over all was very pleasant experience, they came out at the time the said they would be there, called 20 mins in advance and were very professional and had the cheapest service trip charge of all the others I had called. I will recommend them and use them again if needed. Regards

Our refrigerator stopped working(it was 21yrs old) John checked it out. Wasn't sure if it was the compressor, starter(or both). He placed a new starter on it. Tested it. The compressor would not start. A new refrigerator was needed, as the repair cost would be near the cost of a new unit. This is the second time we've used John's Appliance. The first about a year ago with a dishwasher problem. It was leaking soapy water. Turned out to be the new detergent I was using. No prob. and an easy fix. John is very knowledgable and thorough. He will explain exactly what he's checking and why.
